A Peak Into The Past

I couldn't tell you why she felt that way,
She felt it everyday.
And I couldn't help her,
I just watched her make the same mistakes again.

What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.

After everyone had eaten and the food had settled they went for a walk. They Had no idea what they were looking for or if there was anything to look for at all. They were tired of sitting there waiting for something to happen. They were all beginning to lose hope.

"I don't feel anything anywhere." Kagome said. They had been walking for quite some time now.

"Neither do I." Miroku said.

"Guess we're at a dead end." Sango said.

"Let's head back to camp then." Inuyasha said.

They all turned around and began to walk back. Before they could walk anymore than a foot they all dropped to the ground. A wave of exhaustion fell over each of them. Neither of them could stand, only staying on their hands and knees.

Finally dizziness swept over them all and no one had the strength to even stay awake. All of them at once fell to the ground in a deep sleep.

It was a nice day, sunny skies, no clouds, all in all it was peaceful. That is until...

A young Kagome sat on a log waiting for her friends. She soon saw them come closer to her. She waved as Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango, and Kirara got closer.

"What took you guys so long?" Kagome asked as she jumped off of the log and ran towards her friends. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and tripped over a rock.

Before she could hit the ground Inuyasha was already in front of her. "Your so clumsy." He said in an irritated yet affectionate tone.

"Gomen." Kagome said and kissed his cheek in thanks for helping her.

Inuyasha brought a hand to his cheek as a light blush covered his cheeks. He quickly shook it off and turned around. He folded his arms into his sleeves and huffed. "Keh, I wouldn't have to help you so much if you could help yourself." He said in the same tone.

"But then you wouldn't hang around me anymore. You said you'd protect me." Kagome smiled. She bent down in front of Kirara and pat her head. "Ohayo Kirara, Sango, Miroku."

"Inuyasha got a better greeting than I did." Miroku said pointing to his cheek indicating he also wanted a kiss.

"Gomen Miroku but Inuyasha helped me." Kagome giggled.

Sango on the other hand wouldn't accept his attitude and hit him in the face with a boomerang that was slightly bigger than her. "Hentai!" She yelled.

"Gomen Sango, you may kiss my cheek as well." Miroku smirked at her.

His answer was yet another hit with her brutal weapon. "Learn it now Houshi, I will keep up the pain if you don't change your act." Sango said.

"Such a lecher at that age." Inuyasha shook his head. "I doubt he'll ever change."

"Miroku might. He has a good heart and he likes Sango." Kagome whispered to Inuyasha.

"Doesn't matter. He's still a lecher." Inuyasha said. "To think he's a monk too."

"Miroku is Miroku whether or not he's a monk." Kagome giggled. "So what should we do today guys?"

Before anyone could answer a loud roar came from the distance. "Something's coming." Inuyasha warned.

"It's huge!" Miroku said. "Its youki is overwhelming!"

"Hai, I can sense it too." Kagome replied.

"Everyone ready? We won't have time to run." Inuyasha said.

Suddenly the trees in front of them were knocked down. They all flew back as a gust of wind knocked them down. An enemy that no one could make out was attacking them. He stood in front of Kagome and lifted her chin with his finger.

"I admire your courage, to stand here without fear in front of me. You're well aware that I have been watching you and your companions. So that means you know what I'm here for. It's sad to have to slay one so young and beautiful. No doubt that with time your beauty will grow and so will your powers." Their enemy narrowed his eyes at the girl. "That means you must be eliminated now while they aren't fully awakened."

When hearing the word `awakened' everyone snapped out of their sleep. They sat up in a seating position holding their heads. They all noticed that everyone was doing what they were. "Did you guys see it too?" Kagome asked.

"The dream or vision or whatever it was?" Sango asked.

"Hai." Kagome said. "Of us when we were younger."

"Hai, I saw it. It seems to have come back to us." Miroku said.

"Not all of it though." Inuyasha said as he stood so he could help Kagome.

Sango stood up and leaned on her hiraikotsu. She still felt a little weak. "I can't believe you were a hentai at such a young age." She said.

Miroku laughed and stood also. "Funny how you would bring that up." He said.

"I can't believe you asked her for a kiss." Inuyasha growled lightly.

"Still as jealous as ever eh?" Someone from behind them said.

"Kouga." Inuyasha growled. He knew who it was without turning around. "You bastard why are you here?"

"This is my territory I may come and go as I please." Kouga smirked. "How have you been since I left you? Any luck with the memories?"

"Hai we recovered a bit." Kagome said. "Not enough to go on though."

"Ah well at least it's a start." Kouga said. "You must be optimistic and not give up."

"Arigato Kouga-kun." Kagome smiled. She was grateful for his advice.

"Anytime. Would you like to join me for dinner then?" Kouga asked. He could hear Inuyasha's growls and wanted to provoke him even further.

"That would be great!" Kagome replied. "Do you guys mind?"

"No, of course not." Sango said.

"It would be nice to eat with a friend." Miroku said.

"Well I mind." Inuyasha said.

"Gomen Inuyasha I already accepted his invitation." Kagome smiled.

"You're just saying that so we will eat with him." Inuyasha said.

"Whatever works." Kagome replied.

"Well I'll come to your camp with food around dinner time so don't worry about cooking." Kouga said. "Until then!"

"Ja ne Kouga-kun!" Kagome waved.

"Will you quit calling him that!" Inuyasha growled.

"Why what's wrong with calling him Kouga-kun?" Kagome asked.

"He's jealous that you call him by an honorific." Miroku answered since Inuyasha's stubbornness would lead to pointless answers.

"Well he's helped us out a lot." Kagome said.

"Let's not argue. I think we should discuss what it is that we just saw." Miroku said.

"I agree with Houshi-sama." Sango said. She picked Kirara up and began walking back towards camp.

Once they got back to camp everyone sat down. They stayed silent for a few moments. Not able to stay silent anymore Inuyasha spoke. "Okay so what the hell are we supposed to talk about?" He asked rudely.

"Well did anyone make out who we were fighting?" Miroku asked.

"No, I couldn't even recognize the voice. I only know that it was a male." Kagome said.

"Same here." Sango said.

"What the hell were we doing fighting at such a young age anyway?" Inuyasha asked.

"That's what I'd like to know. It seemed like I knew how to use some of my power." Kagome said. "I wonder if I'll relearn it later."

"Who knows?" Sango said. "I wonder when and where our next memory will come."

"I think to answer that we'd have to talk with the voice that takes over Kagome's body." Miroku said.

"She said she didn't have much time left so what if that meant we can't talk to her anymore." Sango said.

"Guess we'll find out sooner or later." Kagome said.

Later in the day Kouga came by camp with dinner already cooked. "Arigato Kouga-kun." Kagome smiled.

"Any time. Just remember if you ever need anything feel free to ask me. I'll drop whatever it is I'm doing to help you." Kouga said with Kagome's hands in his.

"A-Arigato Kouga-kun." Kagome said as she took her hands back from him. "I feel as if I've already asked too much of you."

"Nonsense, I don't mind at all." Kouga replied. He sat down next to her and began to eat. "So any news on your memories? It would be nice if you would remember me."

"Gomen, but no. All we remembered was the beginning of a battle. We know nothing else." Kagome explained.

"Like its any of your business anyway." Inuyasha huffed. He was still jealous of Kouga getting all of Kagome's attention. He turned away from them and acted as if he didn't care but everyone but Kagome could see through him. He was easy to read.

"So Kouga, I've been meaning to ask you, do you get many threatening youkai in your territory?" Sango asked.

"Not really. Every once in a while we get some cocky son of a bitch who thinks he can take over but they're easily defeated." Kouga explained.

"I see." Sango said. "Must be nice to find this great area to settle down in."

"Hai, it is." Kouga said. "This territory has been owned by my family for ages. To give it up now is unthinkable."
