Chapter 28
Privacy
“Ah it feels so good.” Kagome said as she sank into the warm water.
“I don't think I could ever get tired of bathing.” Sango smiled.
“I think I will if one more guy barges in on me...” Kagome sighed. “It's happened too many times.”
Sango giggled. “You're really feeling better?” She asked.
“Hai, I'm fine.” Kagome smiled sincerely. “Inuyasha pointed out that Okaa-san and Souta wouldn't want me to be sad. I'm just upset that I didn't get to tell Okaa-san that I was thankful for what she's done. I was pretty angry when I found out she lied. I just needed some time away to think, but I never got to go back and thank her...”
“I'm sure she knew.” Sango smiled. “I'm just glad you'll be okay. Your not the type to be unhappy.”
“Okaa-san makes everyone happy.” Shippo said as he splashed the water.
“It's true. Your mood affects everyone else.” Sango nodded.
“Really? I never noticed. I wish Inuyasha would follow it more often then. He's grumpy a lot and...” Kagome didn't know how else to explain the way he acts.
“Jealous?” Sango added.
“Stubborn?” Shippo said.
“I guess. He claims he isn't jealous.” Kagome moved her hair to the side.
“He lies. Any time another male comes near you he starts growling. He gets mad when I'm near you.” Shippo said. “Even worse when Kouga's around. Most of the time you can't hear it because you're human.”
“Really Shippo?” Kagome asked.
Shippo sniffed the air and looked at the door. He moved to Kagome and Sango and pointed at the door and made a motion of puppy ears and a hentai. They both nodded getting what he was saying. They were both listening at the door.
Kagome smiled and decided to play a little game. She looked towards Sango and smiled. Sango nodded understanding what she meant and smiled. “So Sango how are you and Miroku?” Kagome asked trying to keep from giggling.
“I don't know. He's such a hentai, although I do have to admit that it's grown on me, he's become so much more attractive.” Sango said covering her mouth trying to keep from laughing. “What about Inuyasha?”
“Oh I don't know. I think maybe he doesn't take me seriously and really doesn't want to be my mate.” Kagome said. She gestured to quietly get out of the tub.
They both quietly put on their robes and slowly crept towards the door. “Really?” Sango asked with a smile.
Shippo had long ago gotten out of the bath and buried his face into Kagome's kimono to keep from laughing. Kagome and Sango both reached for the door handle of each side and nodded to open it quickly.
Both Inuyasha and Miroku fell from leaning against the door and face down on the floor. They both grunted in pain and turned around. “Ah...I can explain...” Miroku said.
Both girls crossed their arms and glared at them. “I guess we can't get any privacy around here at all can we?” Kagome said angrily.
“I guess not.” Sango replied. “Don't even bother coming back to either of us.”
Kagome and Sango both shot the guys an evil glare and left. Shippo laughed as he followed Kagome. They both stomped away to their rooms, locking the door behind them.
“Dammit! Miroku you ass!” Inuyasha growled angrily.
“You didn't have to follow me. Don't blame only me.” Miroku said. “I'm also in trouble.”
“Fuck.” Inuyasha stood. Now he was going to have to apologize.
“Do you think what Sango said was true?” Miroku asked.
“How should I know?” Inuyasha said before leaving. He ran up to his and Kagome's room and turned the knob. He found it was locked. “Dammit! Kagome open this door!”
“NO!” Kagome yelled.
“Kagome!” Inuyasha yelled as he pounded on the door. He'd break it down except it was Sesshomaru's castle and he'd probably get pissed.
Inuyasha cursed before thinking of another way to get in. He ran down the stairs and out of the castle to jump up to the balcony. He opened the door and walked in. “Why the hell did you lock me out?” Inuyasha growled.
Shocked that he had gotten in Kagome stood from the bed with Shippo in her arms. She'd forgotten about the balcony. She glared at him and headed for the door. Inuyasha growled and grabbed her arm. He picked Shippo up by his tail and unlocked the door, throwing him out. He quickly slammed the door and locked it.
“Oi! Don't lock me out!” Shippo pounded on the door.
“Stay out there for a while!” Inuyasha growled in a disciplining manner. He heard Shippo sigh but then heard him leave.
“Inuyasha! You didn't have to throw Shippo out!” Kagome scolded. “You should be the one out there!”
“You locked me out! I'm not talking to you with Shippo in the room!” Inuyasha yelled.
“Maybe if you learned to give people privacy I wouldn't have to lock you out! You had no right to listen to our conversation!” Kagome yelled. She folded her arms and turned her back to him.
“I'm sorry.” Inuyasha said softly.
“What?” Kagome asked turning her head to hear him better.
“I'm sorry.” Inuyasha repeated. “I shouldn't have listened to your conversation.”
Kagome turned around not completely forgiving him. “Don't think you'll get away with this that easily. Sorry isn't going to be enough.” She said, arms still folded.
“What else do you want? Do you want me to get on my knees and beg because I won't do it?” Inuyasha yelled.
“Sit!” Kagome shouted. Inuyasha hit the floor with a grunt. He tried to get up but as usual was stuck on the ground until the spell wore off. “I feel much better.” She walked over to the bed and sat down, waiting for him to stand up.
Inuyasha stood up and jumped onto the bed. As much as he hated being sat he did deserve it. “Am I forgiven now?” He asked.
“What possessed you to listen to our conversation?” Kagome asked ignoring his question.
“Miroku asked if I wanted to listen to your conversation. At first I wasn't going to but then he said that you might talk about me to Sango.” Inuyasha said. “I just wanted to hear what you would tell Sango about me.”
“What would I say to her?” Kagome asked.
“I don't know! That's I was listening!” Inuyasha said.
“Just don't do it again.” Kagome sighed. “It's not nice listening to other people's conversation.”
Inuyasha just nodded and laid his head in her lap. He thought she would've been much angrier than she was. “Were you serious?” He asked.
“Serious about what?” She asked finally unfolding her arms.
“When you said you weren't sure that I took you seriously and wasn't sure I wanted to be your mate?” Inuyasha asked.
“I was kidding. Shippo told us that you were there so we decided to mess around with you guys.” Kagome said.
“Bitch.” Inuyasha replied.
Kagome shoved him out of her lap and onto the floor. “OI! What the hell was that for?” Inuyasha leaned onto the bed and glared at her.
“You called me a bitch!” Kagome defended herself, returning the glare. “I'm not a bitch.”
“In inu youkai terms you are.” Inuyasha sighed. He forgot she didn't know these things. “I'm an inu youkai, you're my mate, which makes you a bitch. It's nothing personal.”
“Oh, well I don't like being called that.” Kagome crossed her arms once again.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes and moved back to his place with his head in her lap. He turned towards her and wrapped one arm around her waist. Kagome sighed and uncrossed her arms to rub his ears. “How long have you been resisting to do that?” Inuyasha asked, his voice muffled by her stomach.
“Forever.” Kagome giggled.
“Does this mean I'm forgiven?” Inuyasha asked.
“When you bring Shippo back.” Kagome said.
Inuyasha sighed and got up. He grumbled some curses and left the room. “Don't lock the door!” He shouted from the other side.

Miroku sighed before knocking on the door to Sango's room. “I'm not letting you in Miroku!” She shouted.
“Just give me a chance to explain myself.” Miroku said.
“You can explain yourself from your side of the door!” Sango shouted.
“I'd rather not yell. I think other people in the castle may get angry.” Miroku said. He then heard a sigh and footsteps. The door unlocked and opened.
“You have two minutes.” Sango said and let him in, shutting the door behind him. She crossed her arms and waited for his excuse. “So?”
“Ah yes, well I was listening to your conversation. I do apologize for my actions. I know privacy is very important. I was just curious as to what the two of you would talk about.” Miroku explained. “I thought maybe I would overhear a conversation about me.”
“What would I say about you to Kagome?” Sango asked.
“Well what you thought of me for instance.”
“Why would you care of what I thought about you?” Sango grew curious.
“Sango if you haven't noticed my intentions towards you are more than friendly.” Miroku explained.
“What do you mean?” Sango asked. She had a good idea of what he meant but still wasn't sure.
“I want us to be more than friends.” Miroku coaxed her arms out of the position they were in and held her hands in his. “I meant no offense for what I did earlier. I was just curious.”
“Miroku...” Sango said not sure how to answer him.
“Give it some thought. I hope you can forgive me for what I've done.” Miroku released her hands and walked to the door. “Sleep well.”
Sango could only stare after the door. She couldn't believe what he had said. He always just seemed like a hentai with only those types of intentions. For a minute she thought that he was just saying it. But the look in his eyes and the sincerity in his voice seemed like he was serious. Snapping out of her daze she walked over to her bed and laid down.

Kind of short but I thought this was a good stopping place. I did just update yesterday too. I thought I'd write this chapter to start Miroku and Sango's relationship. Hope you like it. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
