Chapter 30
Start of Another Romance
“Well I'm satisfied now that we found a hot spring.” Sango smiled happily.
“At least you found what you wanted.” Miroku said. He hadn't even gotten to look around the village. As soon as they left the hut Sango dragged him off to find a bathing area. “Inuyasha could've easily found this.”
“It doesn't matter. It was found wasn't it?” Sango said as she sat down. “Let's rest.”
Miroku sighed but gave in, taking a seat next to her. “I can never deny a beautiful woman's request.” He said. “And so another lead yet it remains a somewhat dead end.”
“At least we got some information. It didn't really help us. It benefited Kagome though.” Sango said. “She's a little bit happier then before.”
“True.” Miroku said. “Although I wonder how we met.”
“I know, we all lived far away from each other.” Sango said.
“I wonder if Inuyasha and Kagome remember how they met.” Miroku said thoughtfully. They had seen more memories than him or Sango.
As if they were heard a white flash appeared before them and they gasped.
*****MEMORY*****
Miroku had been traveling with Mushin, his replacement parent. His mother died giving birth to him and his father had long ago been sucked into his cursed wind tunnel, leaving Miroku alone in the world. He, the very moment he saw his father get sucked into the Kazaana, decided he would follow his footsteps and become a monk, intent on finding the one who had cursed his family.
Mushin needed to perform an exorcism and thought it best if Miroku were to accompany him so he could see first hand how it happened. After the exorcism Mushin had been lured away by women and booze promised by the chief villager. He was thankful for his help and wanted to reward him. Miroku of course was too young to attend the gathering.
Having nothing else to do he decided to walk around the forest. He thought he could practice his skills with his ofuda. He was getting better but hadn't mastered it just yet. Walking through he heard someone nearby. Walking further into the forest he saw a young girl wearing a black skintight outfit, with pink armor.
He assumed she was a Tajiya considering that they always wore skintight clothing for the benefit of movement. He saw the girl throw an enormous boomerang shaped weapon. He watched as it knocked down a tree and then saw it turn back towards her.
“Watch out!” Miroku shouted. He ran over to the girl and pushed her out of the way. He was able to push her out of the way right before it came back. They rolled a couple of feet from her original spot.
“Hey! What's wrong with you?” The girl shouted as she stood up and brushed herself off.
“Well I thought a thank you should've been said.” Miroku said as he stood and brushed himself off. “My name is Miroku.”
“I don't care! What do you think you were doing!” She shouted.
“I will answer no questions until I know the name of who I saved.” Miroku picked up his staff.
“I'm not telling a stranger my name! You could've been hurt!” She screamed at him. She walked over and plucked her weapon out of the ground, strapping it around her back as if it weighed nothing.
“Well I though saving you would at least entitle me to know your name...” Miroku shook his head. “Do a good deed and never get rewarded.”
“It's Sango!” She shouted, obviously not happy about it.
“Well Sango, to answer your question I thought you were in need of help.” Miroku answered.
“I don't need anyone's help! I was out here training!” Sango said.
“For what?” Miroku asked.
“I'm going to become the only female Tajiya in the village. For anyone to take me seriously I need to train and become better than them! You interrupted it!” She shouted.
“Ah so you live in the Tajiya village behind me.” Miroku said. “I was just there. Not far from where I live actually. I'd love to become friends with you.”
“I don't think so.” Sango said and began walking away.
“Fine, I shall visit you often anyway!” Miroku shouted. He smiled but decided it was time to go back to the village. He would see Sango again, he'd make sure of that.
*****END*****
Both Sango and Miroku snapped out of their thoughts quickly. “You saw it too?” They both said at the same time.
“Well it seems my interested in you has never waned.” Miroku smiled.
“You've always been you I guess.” Sango blushed and turned her head. “Miroku...I thought about what you said...”
“There's no rush. Answer when you've thought it through.” Miroku said sensing her hesitancy.
“I did think about it.” Sango's blush became brighter. “I'd like to...try to become...more than friends...”
“Really Sango?” Miroku turned towards her.
“Hai.” Sango nodded trying to avoid his eyes.
“That's great!” Miroku embraced her. “That means no more of this Houshi-sama business.”
“I guess not...” Sango said as she returned the hug. “Miroku.”
“Ah it sounds so nice to hear you actually say my name.” Miroku smiled. “As much as I'd like to sit with you all day I think we should be getting back.”
“Hai.” Sango said. “I think Kagome and I will return after dinner for a bath. We're taking Shippo or Kirara with us so you can't do anything.”
“Why, Sango I would never.” Miroku exclaimed.
“Your such a liar.” Sango shook her head. She felt a squeeze at her rear, turning around she slapped the monk. “And a hentai!”
“I couldn't resist!” Miroku rubbed his cheek. “Your beauty entices me so!”
Sango just blushed and walked away, missing the smug smile on Miroku's face.

“Where the hell have you two been?” Inuyasha asked as Miroku and Sango walked into the hut.
“Well we were going to take a look around the village when Sango dragged me to find a bathing spot. Then we got distracted with a memory and went to look around the village before coming here.” Miroku explained as he sat against the opposite wall of Inuyasha. He raised an eyebrow at Inuyasha when he noticed a sleeping Kagome in his arms. “What were you two doing?”
“Not what you were thinking of!” Inuyasha growled. “Fucking lecher. Kagome fell asleep after we saw a memory.”
“So you did see one. We saw one of the time Sango and I met.” Miroku said. “What was yours?”
“How Kagome and I met.” Inuyasha said. He was going to say more when Kagome moaned and opened her eyes. “Your awake.”
She yawned and stretched in his lap. “My head still hurts.” She said. “Oh when did you guys get back?”
“Just now. We were telling Inuyasha how we saw a memory of how Miroku and I met.” Sango explained.
“Miroku? Since when did you start calling him by his name?” Kagome asked in amusement.
“Well...” Sango trailed off and just blushed.
“Sango and I have decided to try becoming more than friends.” Miroku smiled.
“Oh I see.” Kagome smiled. “You guys saw a memory? We did too.”
“I already told them.” Inuyasha said.
“So that means we didn't reach a complete dead end.” Kagome said happily.
“I guess not.” Miroku said.
Inuyasha sniffed the air. “Kaede-baba is making dinner.” He said.
Kagome elbowed him in the ribs. “Don't call her that. She's been nothing but nice since we've arrived here. The least you can do is not call her that!” She scolded.
“Food!” Shippo shouted as he woke up. He ran to Kagome and jumped into her lap. “Does this mean it's time to eat?”
“I guess it does Shippo.” Kagome giggled. “Let's go see if Kaede-sama needs any help.”
“Hai!” Shippo said excitedly.
Kagome started getting up with Shippo in her arms until Inuyasha pulled her back down. “Are you sure you're up to it?” He asked.
“I'm fine. I rested and feel better. My head just aches a little.” She said and stood up leaving the hut.
“I believe we should follow after her. Kaede-sama is being kind, we should help in anyway that we can.” Miroku stood and left the hut with Sango and Kirara following after him.
Inuyasha sighed before following them out.

“So have any of you found what you needed?” Kaede asked as she passed the last of the soup bowls out.
“Well we all saw a memory of how we met someone.” Kagome said.
“A memory?” Kaede asked.
“We all lost our memories of what happened so when something familiar happens it triggers a memory and we see it in our minds.” Kagome explained.
“Sounds exhausting.” Kaede said.
“Hai, I usually pass out afterwards. I just woke up but I still have a headache. It seems with each memory the more strain it is on me.” Kagome sipped her soup. “This is delicious!”
“Arigato.” Kaede smiled. “What about for the rest of you. Are the memories a strain for you as well?”
“No, it seems Kagome is the only one who is exhausted afterwards.” Miroku said. “I believe it is because she is a miko.”
“It would seem so. She does have more power within her than most mikos. Her power surpasses those of other miko's I've known and hasn't gone through any training.” Kaede said.
“I don't know how to train or where I'd even start.” Kagome said. “So much has been happening I hadn't even thought of training.”
“Most of it is based on meditation. Your strength comes from within and you mostly learn on instinct. You've already went through some training when you were younger.” Kaede explained. “From what you told me your powers went into a sleep after you lost your memories and have recently reawaken.”
“Reawakened? So I've already gone through some training?” Kagome asked.
“Hai, I'd train you but you seem to be overwhelmed enough as it is. But you must be careful of your emotions. If your emotions are strong your miko powers will act on them.” Kaede explained. “You could lash out at anyone even your friends.”
“I could do that?” Kagome asked as she looked at her hands. “Can I do anything to prevent it?”
“Try to keep your emotions in control. Try to meditate and use your powers, but do them in privacy. Your powers aren't controlled and could be dangerous to anyone around, especially for youkai. It doesn't affect humans but can be very dangerous to youkai.” Kaede explained. “Inuyasha, Shippo, and Kirara, you should be aware of her powers. With your youkai blood you should be able to feel it rise within her.”
“I didn't know I could be a danger to them.” Kagome put her soup bowl down. She stood up and headed for the doorway. “I think I'll go inside the hut now. Thanks for the meal Kaede-sama, it was delicious.”
“What the hell did you have to tell her that for?” Inuyasha shouted. “She was finally happy and you ruined it!”
“It is something that must be said. With Kagome in her position she could easily lose control of her emotions. She's already unstable as it is! She must begin controlling her powers now or it will be too late!” Kaede defended herself. “I did not have the intent to bring her down.”
“Kaede-sama is right.” Miroku said. “It may depress Kagome but she needs to know.”
Inuyasha growled and set his bowl on the floor. He left the hut and went to find Kagome. She wasn't in the hut like she said she would be. He followed her scent leaving the village. Running, Inuyasha was determined to find her and comfort her in some way.

Well that's a lot of chapters in a lot of days. I don't remember exactly how many chapters I've written but it's been in a steady flow. I don't think I'll be able to update on Sunday if I did have the motivation or ideas to write another chapter. I'm going to an anime convention with a friend and will be gone most of the day. Plus I also have school again on Monday and need to try and get my sleeping routine somewhat in order. If I keep going the way I do I won't sleep at all on Sunday and will have to go to school without any sleep at all.
To tell you all now I'm not doing Kaede's voice in Old English (obviously). The reason for that is I can't stand reading it and I will have to read my work again because I'll forget how the story went. I don't see how a Japanese elderly woman knows Old English in the first place. Whether or not it's really translated that way I don't care. I don't mind hearing it. It drives me insane to read it and I'm already losing my sanity day by day. Whatever left I'll need for the future. I just thought I'd explain that now before I get reviews on it, which I probably will anyway. Sorry for the babbling.
THANKS TO READERS AND REVIEWERS! JA NE!
