Chapter 3: My never ending demise

As I fell into the darkness my last thought echoed through my mind,
“I’d do anything to make you happy, even if it is my death which you seek, I will fulfill it…” Then,
THUNK!
SPLAT!
-InuYasha’s P.O.V.-

Now following the scent of Kagome’s blood I would be able to find her faster. After running in the forest for what seemed like an eternity, her scent left me at a cliff. As I walked closer I saw that part of the grassy ground was pressed down and wet. With blood, and tears. They were Kagome’s.

“Kagome!” I yelled out, just in case she was still in fact around the area.
“Kagome!” I yelled again. I began to get a little worried so I started to walk around the clearing. As I walked closer to the edge of the cliff I noticed that Kagome’s scent ended right at the edge.
“She wouldn’t…” I said out loud, looking down to the rushing river under me. I didn’t see any sign of Kagome down there. Finally putting two and two together I clenched my fists hard.

“If she went down there then that means……she would have been washed away by the heavy current and would have drowned!!!!”
My knuckles white for clenching them so hard, I flew my head back and howled. When I let my head back down the sun rose up from under the mountains.
-Kagome’s P.O.V.-
I laid there, unable to move, my blood creating a large puddle around me. My eyes are closed. I hear nothing, but the sound of my still beating heart, begging for me to stop. Thump. Thump. Thump. Then I felt it. My heart stopped. As I felt my soul begin to leave, I couldn’t help but fell bitterness for the one who would take it, Kikyo, she would then become fully revived. Feeling the last of my soul leave I closed my eyes, ready to enter Hell for my sin.
THUMP. “Huh?” THUMP. “What?” THUMP. “This cant be…”
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP. I cracked open an eye. The sun was out. “How can this be? I died…my soul left my body, but im still? Why?”

I try to sit up, but I wince in pain. My left arm’s broken. It turns out I didn’t land in the water, but on a mini cliff about 15ft above the river. Trying to move I fall into the river.
-Kikyo’s P.O.V.-
As I walked in the forest that has lit up since it was morning I saw some of my soul collectors come up to me with a single soul. “A single soul wont replenish me, you know.” I tried to tell them, but they were insisted that they stay put as the one soul collector gave me the dead female soul. I fused the soul into my clay body. My body suddenly pulses. Shocked I put a hand to my chest. I feel something beat against it. It is my heart. Though my outer body is still clay most of my inner is alive. I take my first real breath of air.
“I’m whole..” I breathe out. I turn around and I search for InuYasha to tell him the news.
-Normal P.O.V.-
InuYasha walked back to the camp site with his head hung low.

“Where’s Kagome?” asked Shippo.
-InuYasha’s P.O.V.-
“I cant tell them Kagome fell off the cliff. What do I say? Oh Kagome ell off the cliff and I couldn’t find her body, so lets forget it? No!” I thought. I had no other choice but to lie to my own friends.

“Uh, Kagome is, is gone. She decided that she couldn’t stay anymore, so she left.” I said rather slowly.
“Yeah that should work!” One quiet moment passed by. Then Miroku’s smart ass just had to ask questions. “If she left, why didn’t she take her stuff with her?” he asked. My mind went blank. “How do I get out of this one?”
There was a scent in the air and I sniffed. It seemed familiar, but I couldn’t place it. Then Kikyo came into the camp site and she started talking.

“InuYasha I have brought news.” Kikyo said. “I’m whole now InuYasha. I have her soul inside of me.” Kikyo continued.
“Shit.”
“What do you mean HER soul?” Asked Miroku.
“Double shit!”
“You mean to say is….that…Kagome…is…dead?” Sango asked. Kikyo nodded.
“But InuYasha you just said she went home. But if Kikyo really has revived then did you just LIE to us InuYasha?” Sango continued.
“Triple shit!” I hanged my head low again.

“How could you InuYasha? How can you lie to us, your friends? Why?” Sango quietly asked before she broke down into tears with Shippo who was already crying.

“This wont end well.”
-Normal P.O.V.-
The sun is already up and shining on this day. The Lord of the western lands walks along a path that leads to a nearby river.
-Sesshomaru’s P.O.V.-
I walk down this path with my servant, Jaken, and Rin, a young human girl I revived one day when she was killed by a pack of hungry demon wolves. As I get closer to the river I smell the air to make sure there are no other demons. I smell one, but it is on the brink of death. I sniff again.

“That scent seems familiar.” when I make it to the river I see a human woman washed up on the river bed. At least I think she is a human. I walk up to her.
“She looks like InuYasha’s bitch. But she smells different, almost like a half demon, or a wet cat.” I notice that she is barely breathing, so I start to give her some treatment.
“Man, I’m growing soft.” When I am half way done treating her, her wounds start to heal a lot faster on their own.
“Interesting.” within a few hours she begins to stir awake.
“Where am I?” she asked. “The world….is spinning…in many directions…” She seems disorientated. Within seconds later she is out cold again.

“Good grief..” I face palm. “Jaken.” I call. “Yes, my Lord?” the imp asks. “Go catch Rin some breakfast.”
“Right on it, my Lord!” he replied. I glance at Rin who is picking flowers again. Then I glace back at the woman and my eyes widen very slightly. Her appearance is starting to change. I watched as her human ears went up the top of her head to form triangular black ears. Her nails turned into claws and im sure she had fangs in her mouth now. Her hair that was dark blue turned into midnight black and grew a few more inches. He would wait until she awoke to answer some questions he had for her.
