Chapter 4: Resurrection

-Sesshomaru’s P.O.V.- &nb sp;

The sun was way up into the sky, Rin ate her fish quietly and Jaken was napping under a nearby tree. The human now half-breed was still unconscious and my patience was starting to thin, even though it should have faded the minute she passed out. With a sigh of impatience I tug at her hair to see if she would stir.

She didn’t.

Now grabbing locks of hair I yank roughly. “That should do the trick.” She still didn’t move. She was sleeping as if she didn’t have a care in the world. Letting go of her soft locks (not that I would admit) I noticed that she finally moved. She curled herself into a ball and sighed in content. Nothing else. I could feel my blood rising. What was with her? That was it. I grabbed her left arm and pulled her into a standing position and growled out, “Wake up, half-breed.”
Slowly her eyes opened to see my expressionless face. that’s when she noticed my hand holding her arm hard and she snatched it away with a gasp.

“Sesshomaru!” she gasped, I guess she bit herself with her new fangs. “ I see you’ve taken a new appearance, half-breed.” I said. “Ah, um, what are you doing here?” she asked. “What? Cant I, Sesshomaru, Lord of the western lands walk to this river to relax?” I asked with slight amusement. “I didn’t mean it like that, ah, I mean-” she frowned, then flinched. She bit herself again. “Those fangs are sharp, you know,” I told her. She gasped again, but it wasn’t from another bite. Her eyes darted to her hands to see her delicate claws, then those clawed hands darted to the top of her head where her cat ears were. She began to rub them curiously. Then a purring sound could be heard almost right after. She stopped and wondered where the purring was coming from.

“It’s coming from you,” I said dryly. She seemed to understand as she lowered her hands to her sides. Then she started talking, “How did I end up like this?” she asked. “That’s what I was going to ask.” I replied. She collapsed onto her knees, “How is this possible? I was supposed to die, but why?” I couldn’t tell if she was talking to me or herself. Then I noticed something black moving hay wire behind her. That’s when I noticed it was her tail. I sighed again, and I began to walk away.
“I don’t have time for this.” Then she called out to me.
“Wait Lord Sesshomaru!”
I stopped and turned slightly.
“Please don’t leave. I-I have nothing. I cant and wont go back to InuYasha. Please let me travel with you. I can be of service.” she spoke quickly.
I raised a delicate eye brow, “And what would a half-breed such as yourself do for me?” I asked, slightly irritated.

“Stop calling me that! I have a name you know.” she yelled at me. Who in the right mind would yell at me, Sesshomaru, Lord of the western lands? “ I must say that she has some major balls in challenging me.”
“And what would that be?” I asked.
“Its Kagome.” she said. So that’s what her name was. Ill have to remember that in the future. “Just come already, you are delaying me and I must go back to the western lands.” I said. Then continued,” Go get Rin and Jaken, and make it quick.”
“Y-Yes Lord Sesshomaru,” Kagome stuttered as she turned around and ran to find them. I began to walk again. “Maybe this arrangement wont be so bad. I think I can find some use of her.” Soon she is at my side with Rin and Jaken close by and we make our way to the western lands.
