Chap.1- Getting the Job

The music pounded in her head. It was nauseating. Looking at the sign that stated the name of the bar she shrugged, `The Lost Island of Pirates'. She worked her way over to the bar. "Hey can you get me a Blue Moon and some vodka?" She asked the bartender. "I.D.?"

"What for?" she smiled meeting the tenders violet eyes. "Look no I.D. No buy. Sorry love." She caught a slight accent and then noticed his ears. Pushing some of her brunette hair behind her ear she sighed and gave it another try. "Dammit Hanyou give me some fucking vodka before I give you a bloody black eye."

"Look love I'm sure that works down town but your up town now." "KAGOME!"

She turned. "Sango!!" "What's the problem Inu? Cat got your tongue?" "Fuck you Sango. What kind of trash you bringing here?" "This trash can kick your ass. Thank you very much `up towner'." Kagome said hugging Sango.

They moved away from him and into a booth. "When I walked in I said to myself Sango can't work here. It's too good." "Well you should have said `I can't work here its too good.'" "Why's that?" "I got you a job… this would be your shift and all you have to do is show the boss you can make the kids drool."

"Sango. I can't, but thanks anyway." Kagome said looking away. "I busted my ass to get you this chance Kagome. I had to talk to the big boss. To Sesshoumaru to get you this job. The least you could do is dance on the bar… with me of course… not with anybody you didn't know." Sango said trying so hard to convince Kagome but somehow she knew it was a lost cause when she saw who Kagome was staring at.

"Kagome- Chan, listen to me." Sango said taking Kagome's face in her hands. "What ever happened to us? The boy you're staring at now, you would never have glanced at him if you were with me. Do not dream girl, he is taken by one of the most dangerous girls I know. She'll kill you for even looking at him like you were."

"Sango don't you understand that dreams are all I have. I will dance on the bar but not for you or the kids. For him, I will dance on the bar." Kagome nodded towards Inu who glanced in her direction.
