Chap. 7- Haunted Past

Nothing seemed wrong, but when he entered the house it was chaotic. Pure chaos…

Everyone was running around, no one greeted him. He snuck to his room and there he fond it the note telling him his parents had been killed. His mind was thrown into the dark, he fell unconscious to the floor hoping to never wake up again. He only wanted to be with his parents, to hug and kiss them again. But he could never do that, never again.

Inu sat straight up in bed, cold and alone. A cold sweat made chills go dawn his spine. He closed his eyes and pulled the sheets tighter around him. This was his second night of these dreams. Ever since Kagome had given him the necklace he had remembered his own parents. Curse the girl, curse her to hell. He laid his head back almost giving into sleep again.

Then all of a sudden his eyes burst open again in sudden enlightenment. A thought came to his mind. What had she said? Why would you want to remember the day your life became Hell and heaven turned dark? He would live by those words and not remember, he would not give into the voice in his head saying he could have saved them if he had been at the house instead of at that damn party with his brother.

He gave into the sleep again, but this time no dreams came to him, none what so ever.

She was asleep but woke to roll over. She had had a disturbing dream but refused to remember it. Falling back asleep wasn't as easy as she wanted it to be. She thought of Inu for a short while before smiling and tucking her hands behind her head. "I wonder if he will really likes me?"

She closed her eyes and fell asleep fifteen minutes before her alarm went off. Jumping out of bed she rushed into Souta's room.

"Up, get up. School time. Get up Souta Higarashi I won't leave you alone until you do…" she walked over to him and tickled him before she got a response.

"Alright woman I'll get up. Give me a second." He yawned widely and stretched before standing.

"Good brat. Hurry before I leave you here." She threatened heading out the door to get herself ready.

She was one in less than five minutes hurrying her brother out the door. She dropped him off at school then headed for Ambrosia, today was the day Kagura worked.

"Don't you dare try that again you ass hole." Her hiss greeted Kagome as she walked through the door.

"I'm never coming here again."

That was the conversation that Kagome heard when she walked in fifteen minutes later between Kagura and a customer. "Wait, let me buy you a drink, it may change your mind." Kagome stepped in front of him as he tried to leave. He scanned her once, and then nodded. Her miko powers detected something within this man but she didn't know what. She slid over the bar to stand by Kagura. "Still running them off? I'm surprised."

"Go away, pirate…"

"So you've heard?" she asked pouring the man her specialty then jumping to sit on the edge of the bar.

"Who around here hasn't? Naraku has been telling everyone that one of his girls is working at Lost Island. Rumor has it Sango's there too."

"Yep, I followed her lead. It's a nice place. You should come some time." Kagome propped her head in her hands.

Kagura seemed rigid when the man spoke again. "This is great, what is it?"

"My own mix. Have a good day…" Kagome said getting up when Naraku entered. She moved over the bar and jumped down.

He did not notice her at first and just went into the back. She nodded her good bye to Kagura and disappeared through the door.

"Where's Inu-Yasha?" Kagome asked walking into the bar and noticing a new face behind the bar.

"He didn't come today. No one knows where he is. We were thinking you would." Sango said shooting daggers at Kagome. "since you know you are his girlfriend."

It caught her off guard and she got a hint of anger in Sango's voice. "Since when did you become such a bitch Sango?" she regretted the words as soon as they left her mouth.

"Bitch?" her eyes filled with tears quickly overflowing. "You're the bitch here."

Sango walked off wiping the tears away. Sesshoumaru was staring at Kagome. "What?"

"Is it true?"

"Is what true?" she hissed wanting to strangle him as soon as she heard him speak.

"That you and my brother are going out?" he asked moving behind the bar.

"I don't know, I was never asked so I guess it's a no. why is she mad at me?" Kagome answered hotly, angered by Sango's aura.

"Can't you see it, she still has a thing for you."

"She goes for guys now, dumb ass. Three within the last few months actually, so you need to shut up." She spilled her anger easily.

Sesshoumaru just rolled his eyes and went into the back. Kagome laid her head into her arms and started to cry. Just as she had almost composed herself a hand settled on her back. "What's wrong?"

His voice was thick, almost inaudible, but she heard it. She turned and buried her face in his shoulder. Inu stood shocked for a moment then wrapped his arms around her shoulders pulling her closer.

Her body shivered with sobs. Sango looked at them from a corner far away, and didn't see this. "You want to play like that, we'll play." She said whispering to herself. She left work then, hoping to find a release for her anger, her hate, before she returned to work.

She entered Ambrosia, rage nearly overtaking her as her eyes rested on Kagura behind the bar, but it disappeared when Naraku saw her. "Hey Sango. What's going on?"

"Kill me please."

"Why?"

"Just kill me…"
