~Chapter 8: Surprises~
“What does she mean by `woman's worries'? Shippo curiously asked Inuyasha
“I don't know, I'm just as lost as you.” Inuyasha responded, trying his hardest to hear the conversation from within the walls. `Dammit! I cant hear a thing!' Inuyasha hollered in his head
“Inuyasha.”
“Yeah Shippo”
“What if there's something wrong with Kagome? I'm worried.”
“Kagome's fine, I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with her” he reassured, knowing that inside he was extremely worried, he had to know what was going on, it was driving him MAD!!!
He walked closer to the tiny hut and began to pace.
“Uhh, Inuyasha, why are you walking back and forth like that?”
“Just because…. don't worry about it!”
He sat down and stared at the hut, waiting.

“Kaede, what's going on?” Kagome questioned Kaede
“Kagome, I think you are pregnant. Your showing all the signs that I see here on a daily bases.” Kaede answered
“I'm…pregnant….” Kagome murmured `I cant be pregnant…I've gotta tell Inuyasha, what are we gonna do…'
“Yes you are. This is a happy occasion Kagome why do you look so sad.”
“Its just that, teen pregnancies aren't that common in my time.”
Kagome looked down at her feet. She stood up and left the hut to go tell Inuyasha.
`Poor kagome, I didn't know…' Kaede thought to herself
Kagome walked toward Inuyasha who was pacing, then sitting, pacing then sitting.
He looked up recognizing her sent and ran toward her.
“Kagome! What happened? Are you ok?” Inuyasha asked noticing the worried look on her face
“Inuyasha, we need to talk.” Kagome answered him and walked towards Goshinboku.
Inuyasha stared at her for a couple seconds but immediately followed. He caught up with her quickly and stood by her side.
“Kagome, what is it? What's wrong?”
“Inuyasha, what if…what if I…”
“What if you what?” he needed her to tell him; the suspense was driving him mad
They approached Goshinboku and sat down at the base of the mighty tree. `This is the exact spot we made love' kagome thought sweetly to herself as her hand stroked the grass.
“Inuyasha….” She looked deep into his large amber eyes. A tear began to surface in her own, and she quickly turned away. Inuyasha smelled her salty tears and asked her what was wrong.
“Inuyasha…I'm…. I'm pregnant.” She looked up at him and saw complete joy overflow from his face. He hugged her tightly.
“Kagome! Is that all! This is the happiest day of my life!”
“Well not for me, it is but it isn't. This type of thing is well…. kinda taboo in my time.”
She looked at him. She could see the disappointment in his face. He looked like he's been deeply betrayed.
“But kagome…” he looked at her he didn't understand, most people are happy when they're gonna have a baby.
“Inuyasha, I am very happy, but also worried about my mom is gonna say…. I can't stay here forever y'know. I have to go back sometime. I have to tell her soon.”
She looked down at the ground. Sure she was happy, but she was also very worried about what would happen when she returned home….'maybe I can stay here…' Kagome thought to herself. Inuyasha was about to get up and leave when Kagome stopped him.
“Inuyasha, wait. I'm happy really; I just need to tell my mom. That's gonna be the hard part.” She looked at him and gave him a reassuring smile. He smiled back, picked her up bridal style and carried her back to the small village.

“Sango, I love you.” Miroku told her after he broke the kiss. “That is why I'm willing to respect your wishes and wait.” He held her close to him and took in her sweet scent. He looked over at Kirara who looked extremely puzzled. He smiled at her and she returned to her miniature state. He let go of Sango and looked her deep in the eyes.
“Miroku, I want to now, I do.”
“Sango, I don't want you to something just to please me. Follow what you've been telling yourself all this time so there will be no regrets.” Miroku smiled at her grabbed her hand and kissed her again. He loved the taste of her lips. He could kiss her all day. Sango broke the kiss this time.
“I love you too Miroku.”
They hugged and walked back to Kaede's hut.
“Hey…is that Inuyasha and kagome?” Sango asked
“Yes I believe it is.”
They both ran to them to see what was going on. When they got there they saw kagome laughing and Inuyasha holding her close.
“Hey what's going on you two?” Sango asked demandingly
“Nothing, we just got some really good news!” kagome answered
“And that would be….” Miroku asked impatiently
“WERE GONNA HAVE A BABY!!!” Inuyasha and kagome answered at the same time
“Really! Awww Kagome I'm so happy for you!” Sango ran up and hugged her friend
“Yes me as well! This deserves a celebration!” Miroku added
While they were all celebrating, they didn't notice that they were being watched.
`Hm a baby huh? This is pretty good. Wait till Naraku hears about this' the woman thought as she flew away on her feather.

“Naraku! I have returned with information that might appeal to you.” The woman teased
“Yes what is it Kagura” Naraku asked
“Inuyasha and kagome are expecting a child.” Kagura answered
“Really…. hmmmm you might be useful after all.”
He stared at his creation; her deep purple eyes were the only things that separated her from the real Kagura who was being punished for her disobedience in his dungeon. This replica was much better…. much, much better.
He thanked her and sent her away. Naraku rose from his seat and went to the dungeon to check up on Kagura. He entered the doorway and smiled evilly at her. She was held up by chains around her wrists, but was able to have her feet touch the ground. So she was basically in a slouched kneeling position.
“Hello Kagura.” Naraku cooed as her entered
“Hello yourself!” Kagura spat
“Now that type of attitude is not going to get you anywhere.” He slapped her across her face leaving a terrible bruise. She glared at him.
“Oh there's someone id like you to meet.” And as if on cue a woman clothed exactly as herself emerged. Kagura gasped.
“Who is…how did you…. what is that!”
“Now, now, lets not be rude, say hello to your twin, Kagura. Although I might change her name your name brings deceit.
He laughed evilly as he let himself out and left the two Kagura's alone.

After the small feast Kaede prepared to celebrate Inuyasha and Kagome's news, Sango asked Kagome to talk with her in private. Kagome nodded her head and followed. When they were a far enough distance from the village, Sango sat down and began to explain what she had called Kagome to discuss.
“Sango what is it?” Kagome asked sounding concerned
“Kagome, do you love Inuyasha? And if you do, how do you know when it love?” Sango asked bashfully
“Sango…I don't know how to explain it really. You just know.”
“Oh….”
“Your in love with Miroku, aren't you?”
“No…. well yeah. I do but I'm confused he says that he loves me…but what about all the other women? I would love to bear him a child, not just for his purposes of defeating Naraku, but to have proof that we have become one.”
“Sango…. that was…. you need to just do what you feel. Just give it more time. Don't rush into things so quickly.”
“I can't believe your pregnant Kagome. I'm so happy for you.”
“Yeah, my mom's not gonna believe it either…”
“What do you mean?”
“Well….”
“Oh, you're not married huh?”
“Yeah something like that.”
“Kagome, don't let something that get you down, sure at first she's gonna be angry, but she'll warm up in time.”
“You think so!?”
“Yeah I do”
Kagome hugged her friend. That's what she really needed to hear. `Maybe everything's not gonna be so bad after all.' Kagome said to herself with hope.

“I don't know…. maybe they went to have `girl talk'” Miroku know-it-all like responded
Inuyasha gave him a glare and Miroku hurriedly drank his tea.
“Inuyasha calm down I'm sure there fine, let them be.” Kaede comforted while giving him a look that dared him to ignore or challenge her. Inuyasha shivered and ran behind Miroku to escape her eyes.
“Yeah Inuyasha I'm sure there fine stop worrying.” Shippo chimed
“Whatever…” Inuyasha mumbled

“Hello sister” Kagura double cooed
“You are NOT my sister. How dare even talk to me. Doesn't Naraku have some task for you to be completing?” Kagura spat
“No…at least not right now.”
“Now Kagura, be nice to your sister. I don't want any fighting.” Naraku teased as he re-entered the dungeon.
He turned his attention to the double.
“I have come up with a name for you.”
“What is my master?”
Kagura just watched the both of them. `How pathetic! She heeds his every wish and command'
“Since you are a mirror image of Kagura, I've decided to name you Kyoko.”
Kyoko bowed in acceptance “Thank you, my Lord”
Naraku began to walk to the long winding staircase.
“Come Kyoko, I don't want you to be around such rubbish. She is a bad influence”
Kagura glared at him as if her stare could turn him to stone. He gave her a pleased smile. He loved to see her angry, it brought him great pleasure. He laughed and walked out the door. Kyoko turned around and looked at her sympathetically. She didn't understand why her sister had to be locked away. `Why should I be stuck down here!!!' Kagura thought to herself. She couldn't escape because the chains around her wrists locked her demonic power, so she couldn't escape.
“Kagura?” a woman's voice asked
“Who's there?” Kagura demanded
“Its me Kyoko”
“Oh its you…what do you want?”
“I don't wanna see my sister so miserable…so I'm hear to set you free.”
“Please.” Kagura answered her sarcastically “Why don't you just leave. You don't want to end up like me.”
Kyoko ignored her and attempted to undo her locks. After about 7 tries, she finally got it, and Kagura fell to the ground.
“W…why did you do that?” Kagura stumbled over her words she couldn't understand it.
“You are my sister. Is that not reason enough?” Kyoko helped Kagura to her feet, and told her of Naraku's plan with kagome, and many more evil plots.
“Why are you telling me this?” Kagura asked
“Because only you can make it right, only you can fix it.”
Kagura stared at Kyoko's deep purple eyes. `Was she sincere? Can I really trust her?'
“Yes you can trust me” Kyoko replied to the look on Kagura's face
“Did you just….”
“Hurry go!”
Kyoko pushed Kagura up and out of the dungeon. Once there she hurriedly shoved her out of the castle doors, and locked it.
Kagura starred at the door. She felt a strange feeling within her chest. `My heart…its in my chest again…' She picked the feather out of her hair and lifted it into the air.
She was headed toward Kaede's village.

“Kyoko is part one complete.” Naraku asked
“Yes my lord, Kagura is headed toward the priestesses village as we speak. You should have what you want soon.”
“Very good” Naraku laughed menacingly at the thought of his plan. `This is going to work this time.'
“Kanna!” the small girl appeared
“Yes, Naraku” Kanna replied
“I want to see Kagura”
Kanna showed the image of Kagura on her mirror.
“Good”
