~Chapter 7: Good-Bye, My Sweet~
Kagome was in shock she didn't really understand what had happened, she looked around and saw the light pink glow surrounding both her and Kikyou.
`Oh no! This is just like last time' Kagome wondered to herself worriedly `but I will not go down without a fight!'
“Kagome! I'm taking my soul back from you!” Kikyou yelled
“Just try it bitch!!!” Kagome hollered back
“Fine I will” Kikyou said under her breath
Kikyou removed the bag from her kimono, opened it, poured the contents into her hand and blew it away.
`What's that bag for…' Kagome wondered
“Kagome!!! Kagome!!!!! Are u alright! I'm gonna get you outta here!” Inuyasha yelled
Suddenly the barrier filled with the strange dust and Kagome lost control of her body.
`Oh no! I can't move my body! This is…. just like that last time with the demon who stole my soul, And brought Kikyou back to life'
Kagome was able to turn her head and saw that Kikyou seemed to be going through the same thing as she was.
`Ah, I cant feel my body what's happening! Oh no! it must be back-`
Both Kikyou's and Kagome's thoughts were broken. The dust cleared and everyone was able to watch as both of their souls left their body's and flew around the barrier.
“Kagome! Kikyou! What's going on why are there souls outside of their bodies!” Inuyasha yelled
Kaede popped out of nowhere and answered his question-
“I suspect that Kikyou has used a spell to steal the soul out of Kagome's body, but did not count on it backfiring, right now Inuyasha all we can do is wait. The soul has become one, that means that whoever's body it does not enter, will die.”
Inuyasha stared at the old woman in disbelief
“Well you're a priestess! Cant you take down the barrier!?” Inuyasha asked
“Yes I could, but that would not be wise, if the barrier is broken before the soul rests in a body, it could be lost forever, and they would both die.”
Inside the barrier both Kagome and Kikyou were lifted into the air as the soul repeated ran through them, there was suddenly a blast of light and energy from the barrier that surrounded Kagome. A couple seconds later, the barrier was disintegrated and only Kagome was breathing. Kikyou lie there sill and even colder. Inuyasha ran to them both. First Kagome to see if she was alright, she was able to sit up on her own and talk so he was sure she was fine. Kikyou he soon found was dead. He lay his hand across her face, and gently caressed it, when he let go, her clay body turned to dust bit by bit and blew
away, leaving only her clothes behind.
Sango, Miroku joined him soon after followed by Kaede and Shippo. They too checked on Kagome who was now standing and they all walked over to where Inuyasha was. Kaede saw Kikyou's “remains” and bent to pick them up. But Inuyasha stopped her, picked them up himself and headed back to the hut. Kagome watched him do this and walked off into the forest toward Goshinboku. Kaede and Sango followed her, while Miroku and Shippo went to check up on Inuyasha.
“Kagome! Kagome!” Sango yelled as she ran after her friend.
“Kaede, maybe you should go check on Kikyou's remains, I can take it from here.”
“Alright, but don't be long”
While Kaede went back to the village, Sango quickened her pace to catch up with Kagome.
“Kagome!”
Kagome slowed down and turned to face her
“Kagome look, I understand why you are upset, but you also have to understand that Kikyou was his first love of course he's gonna be sad but I know for a fact that he love you more. His reaction is normal, now, I want you to go in there and comfort him like a good girlfriend does, ok!”
“Ok” Kagome said while smiling
They both headed back to the village together.

“Inuyasha! I know why you are upset, but you have to snap out of it! Kagome loves you and her seeing you do is doing nothing but hurt her.” Miroku hollered
“Yeah I know but-“
“But nothing, Kikyou has been walking around dead all this time, it was time for her go Inuyasha, she wasn't supposed to be here.”
“Yeah I guess your right, where is Kagome anyways?”
“I'm right here Inuyasha!” Kagome said cheerfully
Inuyasha walked up to her and hugged her
“I'm so glad your ok….” He whispered into her ear
“Me too.” Kagome whispered back
Inuyasha looked at Kagome
“Kagome I just need time to be alone…. only for a while, I hope you understand” Inuyasha pleaded
“Alright I guess….” Kagome half agreed
Inuyasha kissed her on her cheek and went for a walk. Kagome watched him leave and Sango placed her hand on her shoulder
“Just let him go Kagome, this is very hard for him you have to understand that.” Sango comforted
“Yeah Kagome, its not like he's running after her or something” Shippo added
Kagome gave them all a smile and felt unusually tried and decided to take a nap.

Inuyasha walked around deep into the forest, it was almost noon so the sunlight was breaking through the trees and giving the place an eerie but calming glow.
He stopped by a near by lake and began to splash water onto his face to calm himself.
`She's really dead…. Kikyou, is dead.' He thought, “If I love Kagome, then why do I miss her so much?” Inuyasha asked himself out loud
Just then Kikyou's image appeared in the ripping water, and her voice was echoing though the forest
“Inuyasha…. please do not forget about me…do not forget our love…”
And then the voice and her image disappeared. Inuyasha shook his head violently and dipped his whole head into the water. When he emerged he felt the presence of someone else close by. He spun around quickly and surveyed his surroundings. He saw no one but knew someone was there.
“Who's there? Show yourself!” Inuyasha ordered
A spectral image of Kikyou appeared and glided toward him.
“K-Kikyou! But…. YOUR DEAD!”
She smiled and then in the blink of an eye, she was gone. He blinked his eyes and looked around once more. `I must be losing my mind!' he thought
“No my dear, you are not losing your mind!” a woman's voice assured
Evil laughter filled the forest and it suddenly grew dark as night. Inuyasha pulled out his Tetsuiga and was ready to strike. A gust of wind blew from behind, and he changed his position, and faced the lake.
“Stop being a coward! Come out and fight me!” Inuyasha demanded
At that moment, the lake became solid and took on the reflection of the moon., golden gates opened from within, and woman glowing white, rose from the inside of the lake.
As she stood there glowing, she glided toward Inuyasha.
“Why are you so shocked, I'm not going to hurt you.”
“Who are you!”
“I am the goddess of the moon, Usagi” she responded. “Inuyasha, I have a proposition for you.”

“They look very suspicious, and they seem to be gathered in one area. The demonic aura the cloud is emitting is extremely strong.” Miroku stated
“We should go check it out., lady Kaede, Miroku and I are going to check on an odd disturbance, we shouldn't be long. KIRARA!”
As she and Miroku flew toward the demonic disturbance, they realized that it wasn't a cloud, it was more…. a patch of night. There were stars and dark clouds, along with a full moon. It didn't add up. Who had the power to bring the night during this time of the day, and in one small area, was bugging them. Naraku cross their minds, but even he did not hold such power.
They landed inside the forest, close to where the “night” began.
“Sango….” Miroku said nervously
“Yeah” Sango answered waiting for a reply.
“I'm sorry for all those times I touched you…”
“Miroku I-“
“Wait I'm not done, I just didn't know any other way to say it y'kno.”
“Say what Miroku? Where are you going with this?”
“Sango-“
Weird demon bats interrupted them, and almost every other creature of the night. As they battled the creatures, a glowing figure appeared, sitting on a rock gazing at the sky. Sango, Miroku and Kirara fought their way to it as quickly as they could, when they got close they were all shocked to find out who it was.
“KIKYOU” Sango and Miroku yelled in horror
The specter turned her head to face them and then vanished. Right when she vanished, they were bombarded by foes. Then Sango screamed.

“Is Kagome gonna be alright Kaede?” Shippo asked
“Yes she should be fine, she was just tired.” Kaede assured
At that very moment Kagome's body rose off the ground and began to glow white. Her eyes opened and were completely empty.
“Please! Do not bring me back into this world!” Kikyou's voice spoke from Kagome's body.
“Kaede! What's going on!” Shippo asked
“Miroku, look at those clouds.” Sango asked

“Ah, but there is something. Something that you want but know you cannot have.” Usagi responded
“What do you know about what I want! You don't even know me!”
“I know more than you think, you are in love with a dead woman who still, well was still walking this earth. You later fell in love with her reincarnation who just happened to travel to our dimension of time through an old well.”
Inuyasha just stared at the woman, he couldn't believe what was happening, `how does she know so much about me!?' he wondered
“Because I do Inuyasha. I wouldn't be a very good goddess if I didn't know little bits and pieces of everyone's lives.
He just stared at her.
“Now back to business, I can bring Kikyou back for you….but its gonna have a small price to it. Kagome might die. If all the soul is removed from her body, why I'm even prepping her body for soul removal as we speak.”
“Don't you dare do anything to Kagome!, let her be.”
“Fine but your dream of bringing Kikyou back is going to go unseen unless you have me help you.”
I don't need you!”
And with all that said Inuyasha sped back to Kaede's village to check on Kagome. Leaving the goddess behind, she slowly sank back into lake.
“Hm, I can make his dream come true.” A voice filled with malice said before taking flight on a cloud of purple miasma, and disappearing into the distance.

“Sango! Sango! Where are you! Please answer me!” Miroku pleaded as searched for his love. `Odd' he thought, how they were fighting all these creature and then whoosh- gone all of them along with that creepy dark band of night.
`Why has she been acting so distant lately?' he questioned himself. After the kiss they shared, Sango seemed to be acting strangely. She was mean and didn't want to be around anymore like she used to unless it were Kagome. Miroku heard something move and groan. He quickly ran toward it. It was Sango, with a large tree branch sprawled across her lap. She looked to be in pain.
“Sango! Oh my god! Sango let me help you out ok.” Miroku told her to get her to calm down. Miroku called for Kirara and they both pushed the large branch off of her legs.
“Sango!” Miroku ran over to her and hugged her. Sango turned bright red and quickly pushed him away.
“What are you doing!” Sango demanded
“I'm hugging you, is that not allowed?”
“No, its not”
“Why have you been acting this way? One-day you say just give me sometime and have me hoping that you'll want to be with me, and then you turn cold toward me.”
“I-I don't know what you're talking about…” Sango knew good and well what he was talking about. She was just so scared and had so much to do before she even thought about a relationship, she needed to find and save her brother, Kohaku, from Naraku's grasp. She loved him, very much, but was afraid to admit it.
“Sango, lets just go home…” Miroku said disappointed and hurt before he walked toward the village.
“Miroku…. I'm so sorry” Sango whispered as she stood, petted Kirara, and followed Miroku.
She watched him walk farther and father from her sight. She picked up pace and sprinted after him, she knew that she would never feel better until she let him know how she felt.
“MIROKU!” Sango yelled as she ran to catch up with him. He turned around and was met by Sango crashing into him and tackling him to ground. She looked at him and before Miroku could say anything, she kissed him deeply; he eventually kissed her back and held her waist to pull her closer to his body. Sango broke the kiss and ran her fingers through his soft black hair.
“Miroku, I'm sorry I've been acting strangely…. I've been uh…. scared.”
“Scared of what?”
“To actually admit and tell you that…” she paused. Was she really going to tell him? She knew she couldn't hold it off any longer. “To tell you that…I -I -I love you.” She looked at him and turned bright red. Miroku just smiled at her. He held her even closer and started another kiss.

“Kaede…. look, she's not glowing anymore and she sinking back to the ground.” Shippo pointed out
“Yes, what ever occurred seems to have to disappeared.” Kaede said
Kagome began to stir and she lifted her self up and started saying her hello's
“Hey guys! What are staring at?” Kagome asked
“my child just a minute ago you were floating through that talking like my sister, pleading not to be let back into this world.” Kaede answered
“Oh…do you know why?” Kagome asked
“Not really but I believe that someone was trying to separate you soul to bring Kikyou back…. again.”
“Oh…where's Inuyasha? And Sango, Miroku and Kirara.”
“Inuyasha went to clear his head, while Sango and Miroku went to check up on a mysterious disturbance.”
At that moment, Inuyasha burst in and ran to Kagome and asking her if she was alright.
“Uhhhh, Inuyasha I'm fine. Why did something happen.” Kagome question him very worried
“Uh, no, I was just worried about you that's all.” He faked a smile something was not right. He looked over at Shippo who was just looking at them and smiling wide
“And just what are you staring at!” Inuyasha demanded
“Nothing….” Shippo slyly answered and stood behind Kaede.
“Inuyasha, imma go home alright. I don't feel so good. Ill be back in a few days ok.” Kagome told and asked Inuyasha at the same time. She knew how emotional he got when she went back to her time.
“Why don't you feel good? What's wrong? What hurts? Maybe Kaede can help you.” Inuyasha pleaded
Kagome nodded her head and looked at Kaede. Kaede smiled widely and went up to hug both Inuyasha and Kagome. She then kicked Shippo and Inuyasha out saying that it was `women's worries' and that Kagome would be fine after a simple checkup. Kagome just stared at the old woman, never before has she seen her put so much energy at once into one thing. She knew that what ever it was it was BIG.
“Kaede, what's going on?” Kagome asked
“Flushed face, constant naps, a sickly feeling that wont leave right?” Kaede questioned
“Yeah, those are all my symptoms so what are you going at?”
Kaede turned and handed Kagome a cup of tea
“Sit down my child this is going to be a shock for you.”

Miroku sat Sango up, and undid the button at the top of her battle outfit and pulled it down her pale skin. Just before he uncovered her breasts, she stopped him.
“Miroku, I love you very much…but I…I don't want …..I don't want to do that until I'm married.” Sango stuttered
“oh, I'm sorry then.” Miroku said as he bashfully pulled her top back up and refastened the button.
“We should be heading back Miroku, everyone is probably really worried”
“Yes we should.”
The air between grew amazingly awkward as the walked side by side followed by Kirara, not saying a single word to each other. Miroku couldn't take it anymore.
“Sango, why is it that we walk in silence like we don't know each other!”
Sango just stared at him, dumbfounded. He kissed her. It was a fast I need you now kiss, and Sango thought that even though she was going to save her self, she just might give him what he wants….
“Ah, but there is something. Something that you want but know you cannot have.” Usagi responded

She loved him, very much, but was afraid to admit it.
“Sango, lets just go home…” Miroku said disappointed and hurt before he walked toward the village.
“Miroku…. I'm so sorry” Sango whispered as she stood, petted Kirara, and followed Miroku.
She watched him walk farther and father from her sight. She picked up pace and sprinted after him, she knew that she would never feel better until she let him know how she felt.
“MIROKU!” Sango yelled as she ran to catch up with him. He turned around and was met by Sango crashing into him and tackling him to ground. She looked at him and before Miroku could say anything, she kissed him deeply; he eventually kissed her back and held her waist to pull her closer to his body. Sango broke the kiss and ran her fingers through his soft black hair.
“Miroku, I'm sorry I've been acting strangely…. I've been uh…. scared.”
“Scared of what?”
“To actually admit and tell you that…” she paused. Was she really going to tell him? She knew she couldn't hold it off any longer. “To tell you that…I -I -I love you.” She looked at him and turned bright red. Miroku just smiled at her. He held her even closer and started another kiss.

“Kaede…. look, she's not glowing anymore and she sinking back to the ground.” Shippo pointed out
“Yes, what ever occurred seems to have to disappeared.” Kaede said
Kagome began to stir and she lifted her self up and started saying her hello's
“Hey guys! What are staring at?” Kagome asked
“my child just a minute ago you were floating through that talking like my sister, pleading not to be let back into this world.” Kaede answered
“Oh…do you know why?” Kagome asked
“Not really but I believe that someone was trying to separate you soul to bring Kikyou back…. again.”
“Oh…where's Inuyasha? And Sango, Miroku and Kirara.”
“Inuyasha went to clear his head, while Sango and Miroku went to check up on a mysterious disturbance.”
At that moment, Inuyasha burst in and ran to Kagome and asking her if she was alright.
“Uhhhh, Inuyasha I'm fine. Why did something happen.” Kagome question him very worried
“Uh, no, I was just worried about you that's all.” He faked a smile something was not right. He looked over at Shippo who was just looking at them and smiling wide
“And just what are you staring at!” Inuyasha demanded
“Nothing….” Shippo slyly answered and stood behind Kaede.
“Inuyasha, imma go home alright. I don't feel so good. Ill be back in a few days ok.” Kagome told and asked Inuyasha at the same time. She knew how emotional he got when she went back to her time.
“Why don't you feel good? What's wrong? What hurts? Maybe Kaede can help you.” Inuyasha pleaded
Kagome nodded her head and looked at Kaede. Kaede smiled widely and went up to hug both Inuyasha and Kagome. She then kicked Shippo and Inuyasha out saying that it was `women's worries' and that Kagome would be fine after a simple checkup. Kagome just stared at the old woman, never before has she seen her put so much energy at once into one thing. She knew that what ever it was it was BIG.
“Kaede, what's going on?” Kagome asked
“Flushed face, constant naps, a sickly feeling that wont leave right?” Kaede questioned
“Yeah, those are all my symptoms so what are you going at?”
Kaede turned and handed Kagome a cup of tea
“Sit down my child this is going to be a shock for you.”

Miroku sat Sango up, and undid the button at the top of her battle outfit and pulled it down her pale skin. Just before he uncovered her breasts, she stopped him.
“Miroku, I love you very much…but I…I don't want …..I don't want to do that until I'm married.” Sango stuttered
“oh, I'm sorry then.” Miroku said as he bashfully pulled her top back up and refastened the button.
“We should be heading back Miroku, everyone is probably really worried”
“Yes we should.”
The air between grew amazingly awkward as the walked side by side followed by Kirara, not saying a single word to each other. Miroku couldn't take it anymore.
“Sango, why is it that we walk in silence like we don't know each other!”
Sango just stared at him, dumbfounded. He kissed her. It was a fast I need you now kiss, and Sango thought that even though she was going to save her self, she just might give him what he wants….
