Chapter # 3: Dancing With The Bouncer

“ Hey Sango, do I look alright?” Kagome asked her friend as she came out of the bathroom. Sango gaped in awe. Now, she wasn't a lesbian but she had to admit that Kagome knew what she was doing when it came to cosmetics! Kagome looked beautiful!

 

A lovely deep forest green tank top fitted against Kagome's many curves in her upper body, shiny sequins dotted the clingy fabric at the top. Tight-fitting low-cut blue jeans emphasized Kagome's long and finely shaped legs, making her seem taller and more elegant. She wore small hoop earrings and had simple yet a charming amount of makeup on which consisted of white eyeliner, lip-gloss that smelt like watermelon and some mascara.

 

“ Kagome, you look awesome!” Sango replied truthfully as she finished piecing together her own wardrobe.

 

Sango herself looked very pretty as well. Magenta eyeliner emphasized her already lovely shaped eyes, mascara made her lashes bolder and stand out more, a tad of blush brought some exhilarating color to her naturally pale complexion, making her look like a porcelain figurine. She wore a black skirt that came down to about six inches above her knees and was a loose and springy material. Black knee-length boots hugged tightly to her muscular calves. Her shirt was a simple pink T-shirt that had a pair of black lips imprinted on in.

 

The duo looked casual and dazzling at the same time.

 

They were startled when they heard the persistent honking of a car horn and looked out the window of Sango's room to see Inuyasha and Miroku waiting by motorcycles? Hmmm, Sango had never known they had those before! She quickly ushered Kagome out the door and together the two of them looked at the two boys questioningly.

 

“ Sango my love, ride with me.” Miroku stated in his usual dramatic and romantic wannabe tone of voice. Sango sighed and straddled the bike behind Miroku, throwing the helmet on her head and fastening the straps securely. They then sped away, the screech of the tires heard in the distance.

 

“ Guess that leaves you and me Inuyasha.” Kagome informed quietly and shivered against the cool night air.

 

“ Guess so wench, here put this on. “ Inuyasha said gruffly and handed her another helmet. Seeing her shiver, he took off his coat and gave it to her to wear, then motioned Kagome to sit behind him on the motorcycle.

 

Inuyasha felt the warm body of Kagome press against his, her arms wrapping around his waist partially in fear and excitement of this new experience of riding a motorcycle. Her head was lain on his back as she waited for him to drive. Inuyasha revved up the bike and they sped off in the same direction Miroku and Sango had only moments before.

 

After a ride Kagome never wanted to end, she reluctantly got off and took off the helmet Inuyasha had given her to wear. She shook her hair loose of helmet static and walked past the Bouncer with Inuyasha.

 

Once inside, Kagome spotted Sango and Miroku right away. They were dancing already, grinding against each other and seeming to fit like two puzzle pieces. They were lost in the music so Kagome knew there was no chance of stealing her friend away from Miroku for a while. As Kagome looked around, she saw Inuyasha at the bar. Under-aged drinking, tsk tsk tsk!

 

Knowing instantly she wasn't going to get a dance out of Inuyasha, she scanned the club for a dance partner, finding none and scowling in disappointment. Kagome was about to step outside for air when she seen how deathly bored the Bouncer looked and giggled at the thought of asking him to dance. Well why not? He was just about off duty and the club was full anyways. It wouldn't hurt to lock up the doors and come inside to have fun for a minute or two.

 

“ Hey, what's your name?” Kagome asked the Bouncer as she leaned against the doorframe.

 

“ Joe,” He replied with an expressionless face.

 

“ Well Joe, I was wondering if you would like to dance with me?” Kagome asked hopefully.” You're just about off-duty anyways.”

 

She smiled as she seen Joe turn to her and grin. She took that as a yes and grabbed his hand, leading him out onto the dance floor. She couldn't believe how well Joe could dance, I mean, he had seemed so uptight only moments before and now he looked like he could be a kid again.

 

Kagome moved in rhythm with the music, her hips swaying in harmony with each beat. Joe took her hand and spun her, then dipped her, then spun her again. He was very light on his feet for being such a big man! When the song was over, she hugged Joe and thanked him for the dance, then he left the club and the other Bouncer took over the shift.

 

Kagome then glanced around the brightly colored and techno styled room to seek out Inuyasha. She had to dance with him, otherwise she would call this night a disaster! No, she wouldn't because she had, had fun with Joe but she still wanted to dance with Inuyasha.

 

“ Would you like to dance wench?” She heard and oddly familiar voice and turned to face Inuyasha.

 

“ First of all, my name's Kagome. Say it with me, Ka-go-me, and to answer your question, yes I would love to dance with you Inuyasha.” Kagome replied with a delighted and radiant smile that for some odd reason made Inuyasha's stomach do flip-flops.

 

Slow music came on and Kagome stepped closer to Inuyasha, placing her hands on his shoulders lightly and him placing his hands on her waist. They danced across the floor as though in a trance, each of their steps was in perfect harmony with each others. Inuyasha subconsciously pulled Kagome closer, it felt right, and when she didn't object he felt rather pleased.

 

Her hips swayed ever so slightly to the gentle music, her body was pressed up against him in a mild intimacy. Kagome could feel herself getting lost in those golden honey colored eyes of his and tried to look away. She just couldn't and Inuyasha was closing the distance between them to the point where she could distantly feel his warm breath tickle her lips. Her heart fluttered, her soul soared as he was inches away from kissing her when she heard someone call her name.

 

“Kagome, it's nearly 2:00 o'clock in the morning and we have school tomorrow so I think we should leave.” Sango called as she pushed through the crowd to get to Kagome and Inuyasha.

 

Kagome turned away from Inuyasha, much to her distaste and together the four friends left the club and jumped back on the motorcycles to get back home. Kagome loved riding on the bike behind Inuyasha. She felt so…free and careless. All she would feel was the wind run through her hair. She snuggled up to Inuyasha a little more for extra warmth, blushing slightly. What she didn't know was that Inuyasha was also blushing.

 

Sadly, Kagome's and Inuyasha's ride had to end when they stood on the doorstep to her house looking at each other like they both wanted to say something. Kagome was the first to break the awkward silence.

 

“ Are you sure you can put up with me being in your band Inuyasha?” Kagome asked with a bit of a laugh.

 

“ Heh!” He gruffed and looked away.

 

“ I had a really great time tonight and umm…thank you for the dance.” Kagome said shyly and started to open the door to her house.

 

“ I had a good time too Kagome.” Inuyasha said. “ See you later.”

 

“ Yeah, bye Inuyasha!” Kagome called and waved as he got on his motorcycle. He waved back and Kagome went inside and up to her room. She flopped down on her comfortable bed and sighed contently. She was feeling very giddy and bubbly right now! Soon sleep took Kagome and she was left to dream about relationships, friends, enemies and whatever crazy thoughts entered her mind. She now knew that this school had gave her a new door with new opportunities and she wasn't about to toss them aside.
