Kagome awoke early, as was her custom, for a moment forgetting where she was. Soft morning light flooded the large room and she sighed, her heart aching. She slipped out of bed and made her way into the privet bathroom adjacent to her bedroom, and walked in, eyeing the large oak tub filled with steaming water waiting for her.

She yawned and pulled her nightgown over her head, folding it up and laying it on the table.

"Too bad it's not bigger…" She mumbled to herself. She took that moment to turn around, moving towards the bathtub. Then she caught notice of something…the tub was now sunken into the ground and made of marble, and large enough for her too swim in, she was sure.

She blinked, unable to move from shock. Her eyes darted around the room, and for a moment she was frightened. Then she remembered her dream, and somewhere far off she swore she could hear the faint sound of chimes. She shrugged and slipped into the tub, sinking into the warm water up to her neck.

Kagome let out a sigh and leaned back, basking in the warmth of the water as she soaked in it. Soon she was flushed from the steam and heat, and completely relaxed. She grabbed a thick, white washcloth off the edge of the bathtub and dunked it in the water, before looking around with the soap. When she found none she felt a tingle of inspiration.

"I'd like soap. Rose smelling soap." After she said it she happened to glance beside the washcloths and found a bar of sweet smelling rose soap lying there, and she smiled, quickly lathering her washcloth up.

"Thank you." She said softly, rubbing the cloth and soap over her body. She finished and dunked under the water, using the soap to wash her hair. Once she had rinsed her hair out she climbed out of the tub, looking to the corner to see a brazier with towels hanging over it sitting in the corner. She was quite sure that it had not been there when she had entered, but shrugged and made her way over to it, grabbing a towel and wrapping her hair up in it, using another to dry herself off.

Kagome stepped back into her bedroom, surprised to see a gown and undergarments laid out on the bed.

It seemed, Kagome mused as she pulled the clothing on, there was more to this castle that the eye. More then that, there was more to InuYasha….

She was sitting in front of her vanity, pulling a silver brush through her wet hair, when a rapid knocking came at her door, and before she could even call for them to enter the door was flung open and Shippou came flying at her.

He landed on top of the vanity, and grinned at her, wiggling in excitement.

"Morning, Kagome!" Kagome grinned at the kit, feeling a warm affection curl through her. Already he had squirmed into her heart, and Kagome had a feeling before the end of this she would be hopelessly attached to the kitsune child.

"Good morning, Shippou." Kagome quickly braided her hair and tied it off with a silk ribbon. Shippou grinned at her and Kagome swooped him up in her arms, making him squeal and giggling madly.

Shippou led Kagome down to the kitchen for breakfast, where she was greeted by everyone. Sango setting bowls of warm oatmeal on the table, and at first sight of the warm food Shippou began to practically drool. Kagome sat him down and he raced for the table, bouncing into a seat that was obviously made for him, as it was extremely high, and began to eat.

Kagome shook her head and sat down, placing her napkin in her lap and waiting for Sango to sit before she began to eat.

"You look beautiful this morning, Lady Kagome." Kagome looked at Miroku who was smiling at her charmingly from the other side of the table, and smiled at him.

"Why thank you, houshi-sama."

"No, no, please; call me Miroku." Kagome nodded, then looked back to her oatmeal. She caught a glimpse of Sango out of the corner of her eye, turning her head to see her fully. The woman was scowling hard Miroku, who was smiling charmingly at her, and Kagome had the feeling that had Miroku said a single thing even remotely directed at towards Sango or herself, Miroku would be lying in the floor in great pain.

"This is really very good. Did you cook it, Sango?" Kagome asked, looking over at Sango who swallowed and nodded.

"It's the only thing I can cook beside rice." Sango said ruefully, and Kagome laughed, lowering her spoon.

"I'll have to show you how to cook more then that, then."

"You can cook?" Shippou asked, looking up at her with wide eyes.

"Yes, I can. My great-aunt taught me before she died."

"Then you won't be completely useless." Kagome, who just picked her spoon back up, dropped it with a clank, her eyes wide with shock. She turned to look at InuYasha, who was eating as if he had never said anything. She blinked, mouth open, unable to even speak for a moment.

"Excuse me?" InuYasha shot her a glare and humped under his breath. Kagome felt anger bubbling up in her. It was rare for Kagome to be filled with such a violent anger, but when it did happen those around her prayed to whatever God they worshiped that they would never see her like that again.

Her hands were trembling, and her eyes filled with tears of anger. She hadn't done anything to him, and he was keeping her a prisoner, he had just insulted her, and to top it all off he had haunted her dreams her whole life. He had invaded every single part of her life for every single day of her life, and now he was calling her useless!?

She let out a noise that sounded suspiciously like a growl and InuYasha looked up just in time to get her bowl of oatmeal dumped on his head.

"Why-you-you-you pig! I have never-You take as your prisoner for no good reason; you are mean to me, and for what? NOTHING! I can't believe I ever loved you! To think I spent my days waiting to go to sleep at night just so I could see you! That I hoped and prayed I would meet you so I could help you, to mend you! You-agh! I HATE YOU!" She slammed her plate down, everyone staring at her with wide eyes and open mouths.

InuYasha let out a snarl and jumped from the table, storming off, Shippou began to cry and ran off to find Kagome, and Miroku and Sango looked at each other.

"So its true. She is the one." Sango nodded, blinking and rubbing a hand across the back of her neck.

"InuYasha's already ran her off. There's no way she'll stay here now."

"But she said she loved him."

"That was before she met him." Miroku gave a derisive snort and leaned back, rubbing a hand over his face.

"We'll be cursed forever." Miroku shot a look at Sango, who was looking away and shaking her head. He balled his left hand into a fist, then suddenly it shot forward and groped Sango's breast. She let out a shriek and jumped up, grabbing her bowl and knock him over the head with it.

"YOU HENTIA!"

Kagome let out a sob as she flung her cloak around her shoulders, rubbing one hand into her eyes, trying to stop her tears. She rushed out of the castle of quickly as she could; taking off at a run towards what she hoped was her village.

In truth she really didn't care where it was so long as it was away from there. She never heard Shippou following her, nor did she hear him when he turned around and ran to InuYasha to tell him that Kagome had ran away.

InuYasha, to say the least, had not been happy.

He left with a foul curse that made Shippou's eyes go wide and stare at him, and then he took off after Kagome, his ranting (mostly curses) fading along with him.

"Why would anyone do that to a donkey!?" Shippou shuddered, toddling back towards the castle.
