SesshoMaru didn't sleep that night. He stayed up thinking about Rin. We have been together now for a few years, now how do I treat this? As soon as she got here I started having more feelings, things that I have never felt for Jaken. He looked down at the girl sleeping in his lap for a while before he lifted her off him and stood up. "You're a human, Rin." He walked out the door to where he left the owners of the cabin and devoured 4 of them, then looked at the youngest who was a girl about the age of Rin when she first tried to help him. Instead of eating her, her kicked some snow over her body and walked to an unfrozen hot spring. As he washed his hands and face he thought. Do I care for this human child? I am a demon lord, I should not. It's hard enough to travel with her, it makes me look weaker. He smiled; nobody calls me weak and gets away with it. His smile faded, but still…

When SesshoMaru walked back into the cabin, Rin was still sleeping. "That girl could sleep through a war and not wake up." He smiled, "it could be dangerous." I find myself smiling a lot more with her; I haven't shown emotion for many, many years. He sat down next to the young girl and watched her for a while. Will she act any different when she wakes up? Will I? "Damn, this is why I hate emotions so much. I hate not knowing what to do." Rin began to move; she flipped onto her stomach and stretched. She jumped up and flashed a huge smile "I'm gunna cook us breakfast!" she ran to a cupboard and took out some vegetables and soon she had some human breakfast food ready. "Here you go my lord!" she said "this one is the best." SesshoMaru shook his head, no matter how many times he told her that he didn't eat human food Rin still cooked for him. She figured if she cooked it better then he would like it more.

"Look my lord! The snow has stopped!" Rin turned to SesshoMaru and smiled, "shall we go back to Jaken?" she asked timidly. SesshoMaru nodded as Rin grabbed some now cold breakfast and stuffed her mouth. She waved to him as she ran out the door.

SesshoMaru stayed back for a minute and watch the girl run out the door. I know the girl is absent minded, but could she have already forgotten the closeness we shared last night? Or is she trying to forget? He frowned and followed her out into the cold.

When Rin got out she stopped running and stood still, frowning. Did SesshoMaru-sama forget what he did to me last night? Does he regret it? Is he mad at me for what I said? I bet he hates me because I'm a human. She felt a tear fall down her cheek and brushed it away, you do not under any circumstances cry in front of Lord SesshoMaru. She looked at the ground and continued walking, farther away from the one person she cared about.
