“S-Saito?” she stared in shock at the brown-eyed male that stared back at her. “Kagome! I didn’t know you had applied to be my assistant!” the tall male grinned at her and walked up to her, pulling her into a gentle hug. “I missed you, why didn’t you call when you got back?” he asked. “I’m sorry, I got so busy and I was moving out of the house and trying to get settled in to my new apartment,” she said with a small pout.
“It’s okay, I’ll forgive you,” he teased softly and let her go. “I might be a little biased and say you are my favorite applicant, I looked at your file, you have great credentials and from everything I saw at the shrine, you are indeed my best pick,” he said as he sat down and patted a chair next to him.
“Those other girls out there, the first thing they did was gush on my looks and how much they loved using my electronics and all that,” Saito said with a shrug. “I’m glad you are one of the applicants, for you to be a personal assistant, I have to like you a little bit because there will be times when we are on a plane for so many hours together and staying in hotel rooms together,” he explained.
Kagome nodded, “I was so excited when I got the call from your secretary that you pulled my application and that I was set up for an interview, I am so sorry that I was late. My alarm clock didn’t go off and then my car decided to break down for like half an hour and then traffic was terrible and I got stopped at every damn red light,” she laughed.
“It’s okay Kagome, I figured that you had some troubles or you wouldn’t have been late,” he said. “I hope you know that you do have the job but I gotta hold up appearances and take a few minutes to ‘think’ about it, but you have the job,” he said.
Kagome grinned widely as she stared into his brown eyes, “thank you so much! You just…you don’t know what this means to me,” she said.
A short man running in had broken them apart, “Se…Saito-sama! Your brother has arrived,” he said, his squeaky voice slightly loud and raspy. For some reason, that short little man reminded her of Jaken.
“I’m in the middle of something but let me introduce you to my new assistant, Ja-san, this is Kagome. Kagome this is my most trusted adviser, Ja Yotaki,” he introduced. “You’re not going to fire this one, are you? You’ve had 5 assistants in the last 2 months,” the older male chastised.
Saito smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head, “Well, do you really blame me? I mean, look at those girls, they all got progressively worse,” he said, his voice taking on a silky edge that Kagome hadn’t heard from anyone since she lost Sesshomaru.
“Okay, I’ll give you that, Saito-sama but make sure before you completely finalize your decision on this girl,” he looked at her. “Before you hire her for her pretty face or anything of that matter, no matter how much you…,” the old man trailed off, his eyes studying her before widening slightly and he scurried out.
“So sorry about him, he’s a bit batty in his old age,” Saito joked softly. He stood up and helped her up as well, his tall form looming over hers. “Don’t listen to the pretty face bit, you are indeed very beautiful but that is not why I’m hiring you and I already told you the reasons why, go join the other girls and I gotta go talk to my baby brother, he helps with the sales on the company and then I will reveal that I chose you,” he said, his voice silky and deep.
Kagome nodded a little, “O-okay,” she said, feeling his firm lips press against her forehead.

Kagome felt jittery, Saito was in his office, chatting away with his brother while the other girls were staring at her as if she had grown a second head.
Finally, the door opened and Saito came out with a shorter, dark haired male coming out behind him. As she looked at the shorter male, she could have sworn his eyes met hers and turned into a familiar honey gold before flashing back to brown.
Shaking her head rapidly, she nibbled on her lip as Saito began a long explanation about how he thought long and hard about who he wanted as his assistant and then he called her name. She grinned at him and walked forward, thanking him as she shook his hand and stood between him and his brother. “Thank you all for coming and we always have other positions opening up so keep an eye out for those, have a great day. Kagome, if you would stay behind, we need to discuss payroll and scheduling which is why my brother is here with us still,” Saito said, leading both her and his brother into his office.
“Lock the door Ikito, we don’t need any interruptions,” Saito said as he took the tie out of his hair and took a seat. “Now that all the formalities are done, Kagome, I’m going to need you to sit down and not interrupt us while we talk,” he told her and gave her a small smile.
Kagome blinked but nodded in compliance and sat down.
“I…We have waited a very long time for this and as soon as I saw you at the shrine, it took all of my strength not to lose my cool,” Saito began softly, Ikito standing behind him, his finger messing with the ring that adorned his hand.
“You’re going to freak out when I tell you this and I’m sorry for hiding from you for so long but…there were precautions that needed to be put into light and we had to make sure not to disrupt the delicate balance and throw anything off,” he said as he stood and walked over to the couch where Kagome sat in.
He dropped to his knees in front of her, his forehead pressing to hers. “For a while, I didn’t…couldn’t believe that it was you until the skit we performed together and the kiss we shared on stage, it brought back so many memories,” he said.
“When you joked with me and called me a demon, my heart stopped and I was sure you had figured out without knowing about my concealment charm, but now that there is nothing to disrupt, I can take it off,” he finished, his hand unclasping the small silver chain that he wore and then he pressed his lips to hers, kissing her deeply.
Kagome’s eyes widened as his lips massaged hers, right before her eyes he started to change. Black hair bled silver, the outlines of markings forming on his face as it got sharper and leaner. Her heart pounding as she looked at the familiar navy blue crescent moon staring back at her, maroon stripes joining them.
When he pulled away from her, she found herself staring into the cool amber eyes she had missed dearly for 2 months. Her bottom lip quivered and tears filled her eyes, “S-Sesshomaru…” she muttered, reaching out to touch his face as if to see if he was real or not.
It was at that moment that darkness overcame her and she plunged into unconsciousness.

OH MY GOSH! Who expected that our cute Saito Tarukan would turn out to be Sesshomaru!?
It seems that my time has run short and I’m running out of battery life on my computer, so  this will be the final chapter until tonight.
I apologize for leaving you with such a horrible cliffhanger!
