Hotaru was by the well looking down into it's dark depths. She cringed at the base of the well with her hands still gripping the ledge.

 

`Alright if I came in this way, I should be able to go back this way right?'

 

She was about to jump really she was when she chickened out. She sat in the grass with her back against the well when she felt a dangerous aura coming closer to her. She stood up her priestess robes flowing and then there he was.

 

Flowing in white garb with fierce looking armor stood a tall and regal looking youkai with long silver hair and golden eyes.

 

“Who are you?”

 

Sesshomaru looked at the young priestess assessing her. She was beautiful even by youkai standards; even he could appreciate her beauty. Her heart shaped face showed fear but not for her death but of something else entirely. Now this reaction to him really intrigued him. Another thing that intrigued him was a familiar source of power radiated off her. All of a sudden he felt a lust for a power he couldn't explain.

 

He continued to look at her and she was becoming very nervous. Her long black hair fanned across her face and she had to put a lock of it behind her delicate ear. Her eyes captivated him. He hasn't seen that color on a human female ever it was such a deep rich purple hue like sparkling amethysts.

 

`Those eyes, where have I seen them before?' He questioned himself.

 

“I asked you a question who are you?”

 

“I am Lord Sesshomaru.”

 

“Are you a youkai?”

 

“What do you think?”

 

“Are you related to Inuyasha the protector of these lands?”

 

“And if I am not?”

 

“Than…than I will have to purify you, for I am the miko residing in this village.”

 

“Brave words coming from a scared young girl like you. Tell me mortal were you just about to jump into that well?”

 

In a flash he was in front of her staring into her eyes daring her to lie. Those very eyes became huge with terror as she felt him place his hands on her shoulders.

 

“Get off me you bastard!” Her body began to shimmer in lavender light and he immediately let go of her. His senses told him to back off.

 

He looked at her again and this time the air shifted and her scent changed.

 

`What is happening here?'

 

“Leave me alone, I will not let you hurt me, not like that, not again, no one will make a fool of me!”

 

Hotaru's eyes turned over and the next thing Sesshomaru knew was that he couldn't move. In alarm he looked at the girl.

 

“I was not going to hurt you mortal, I only wished to seek information.”

 

However, his words went unheard. All of a sudden an evil laughter peeled out of the young girl.

 

“Power, such power you have, I shall take it from you Lord Sesshomaru. You can't escape, no not this time.”

 

Sesshomaru looked at the girl oddly and noticed that her voice sounded familiar.

 

“It can't be, Naraku?” He said in heated disgust.

 

All of a sudden the girl was no longer standing there it was Naraku, it seemed like a memory he didn't like was being played all over again. He had become enclosed within Naraku's foul body, the one time in his life where he was actually scared, but at least no one saw it. If it was not for Inuyasha's interference he would have never been able to escape Naraku's hold.

 

All of a sudden he felt a shove and found himself on the ground with Shippo standing in front of him.

 

Sesshomaru's eyes were turning crimson red, it was Naraku and he was going to slay him. Yet Shippo turned to Sesshomaru and asked in a very Inuyasha like fashion

 

“What the hell is happening, why was that girl looking like…”

 

But the lord of the western lands cut him off.

 

“Idiot, that girl is Naraku didn't you see him?”

 

Shippo looked at Sesshomaru and then at the girl lying on the ground knocked out.

 

“Lord Sesshomaru, Naraku wasn't there, that girl, Hotaru, she had you in some kind of hold I guess, with her powers, you were about to be purified when I pushed you out of the way knocking her out in the process by breaking her spiritual hold on you.”

 

Sesshomaru looked at the young fox who was now in his young manhood. Than back at the girl.

 

“She is no ordinary miko Shippo, tell me where did she come from?”

 

“She came from the well, like Kagome did.”

 

“I see… that girl…she could be very dangerous Shippo, there is something about her that reeks of mixed power, a power so strong that she can destroy everything. I must see Inuyasha at once.”

 

Shippo looked at the girl again and nodded. He's never seen any miko do what she did. She held the powerful lord of the western lands with just her spiritual power alone. He could tell that Sesshomaru could not move. How he survived being purified was beyond him, but he thanked whatever deity showed him favor that day and he quickly led Sesshomaru to Inuyasha's castle beyond the dimension before Sesshomaru could kill the young girl.

Sesshomaru waltz into Inuyasha's bed chamber without knocking. He was amused by the sight that befell him.

 

Inuyasha was with his concubines, he was found pleasuring two of them while the third who was a maid pleasured him. It seemed like they were pleased with his performance.

 

Inuyasha was suckling one breast when he noticed his brother's scent. He growled as he took his lips away from the slave just to tell his brother...

 

“What…the…hell…are…you…doing& #8230;here…don't you…see…I'm…busy?”

 

Sesshomaru sat down and made himself comfortable while Inuyasha continued with his carnality.

 

“I didn't know you were so talented Inuyasha, I was pretty sure that you wouldn't even begin to know how to pleasure youkai women, why with all your practice with…”

 

“Get the hell out Sesshomaru or I'll bash your face in.” Said a now snarling Inuyaqsha with hackles raised.

 

However, Sesshomaru didn't budge, in fact he sat there inspecting his kimono picking invisible things off and filtering them in the air with his thumb and index finger.

 

Inuyasha tried to ignore his brother, hoping that he would take the hint and leave, however, that didn't seem the case and now he was getting irritated, enough so that he couldn't function properly with his slaves so he told them to stop. He grabbed his robes and covered his arousal from his brother; he stood up and walked toward Sesshomaru seething with anger.

 

“What the hell do you want Sesshomaru, can't you see I'm busy here?”

 

“I need to speak with you Inuyasha; it's about that girl from the well.”

 

“What the hell? You couldn't wait til I was done to talk about some stupid mortal wench!”

 

“Inuyasha.”

 

Sesshomaru looked levelly into Inuyasha's eyes to bring home that he was serious.

 

“Damn it all, your timing really sucks you know!”

 

He looked at the girls and they took the signal that they were dismissed. They bowed out of the room respectfully toward the Taiyoukai Sesshomaru and their master Inuyasha.

 

Inuyasha sat down next to his brother.

 

“You stink Inuyasha.”

 

“Well deal with it.”

 

Sesshomaru smirked inside of his head. He had come to miss his brother and all the bantering they did together when Inuyasha had come to him a full youkai.

But that was another story; right now he had no time to travel down memory lane.

 

“Inuyasha, that girl, she has unusual powers.”

 

“She's a miko! Of coarse she has unusual powers.”

 

“Inuyasha that girl nearly purified this Sesshomaru.”

 

Sesshomaru said this so quietly that if it weren't for Inuyasha's good sense of hearing he would have missed it.

 

“What! Oh, I'll kill her; she tried to purify you…”

 

Than with humor crossing his perfect features he continued.

 

“Wait a minute; you the mighty Sesshomaru, that girl almost purified you?”

 

Inuyasha was smirking now; oh his ever so big bad brother was nearly purified by a little girl. He started to laugh. Sesshomaru's stoic face didn't let on the irritated headache he was forming.

 

“It wasn't like that Inuyasha; she believed I was going to hurt her.”

 

“Weren't you?”

 

“No, but, she wasn't afraid that I'd kill her.” (I am curious to know what she was afraid of then.) “Anyway, her power, she used an illusion on me. I thought she was Naraku.”

 

“Naraku, but that bastards' dead, that buzo monk sucked him up in his wind tunnel.”

 

“Yes, I know that Inuyasha, but, believe me. Shippo said that only I saw Naraku and heard Naraku, he saw her standing there with a pale light surrounding her and her eyes were colored over. He saw her energy surround me and he knocked me out of her path, thus knocking her unconscious in the process.”

 

“Well why didn't you kill her?”

 

Sesshomaru was surprised at Inuyasha's outburst.

 

“You mean to tell me Inuyasha that you wouldn't have cared?”

 

“You mean to tell me that you no longer despise humans?”

 

“Inuyasha, you know I do not despise all humans. Rin is human.”

He said that as if that explained everything.

 

“Feh, you're just getting soft in your old age.”

 

Sesshomaru's eyes flashed with anger.

 

“You are still angered that the human girl Kagome chose a human over you.”

 

“Shut up Sesshomaru.” He said with a deadly snarl.

 

Sesshomaru closed his eyes and took a deep breath. How he has learned patience with Inuyasha over the years.

 

“Look Inuyasha, there is something about this girl that is curious to me. However, you are the only one who could go beyond the well and find out about her. Being that I am the lord over most of Japan, I need to know the depth of her threat to us; and you little brother are the only one whom I trust with all this information.”

 

He paused than looked squarely into eyes so much like his own.

 

“Inuyasha she could destroy everything with that power. I don't think it's all spiritual. The aura I got was youkai, a very powerful youkai.”

 

“Damn it all, where is she?”

 

“I left her by the well.”

 

The two were quiet for a moment when the silence was quickly cut.

 

“So, you mean to tell me you didn't find her attractive Inuyasha?”

 

“I found her disgusting.”

 

Sesshomaru looked at his brother. He found no lie in his statement. It was a shame that the mortal girl named Kagome hurt his brother this bad. If he had not already had a mate and several hundred concubines, well, he shocked himself for he realized that he wouldn't have mind the mortal girl to share in his bed, there was strength in her as well as a vulnerability that he couldn't put his claw on.

 

Those eyes and that lush mouth within that heart shaped face were sensuous and very earthy. She is far more beautiful than Kikyo or Kagome in his opinion.

 

“Inuyasha, where is your concubine Nari? I have heard that you shared your room with her for six months.”

 

“I sold her.”

 

“Why?”

 

Inuyasha just looked down with a scowl.

 

“Because she fell in love with you.”

 

Sesshomaru looked at his younger brother in quiet contemplation before sharing some friendly words and finally departing back to his lands.
