Chapter Four

 

Kagome stared at her hands nervously. She could feel Seshoumaru's eyes upon her.

 

“I'm waiting miko.”

 

What the hell? “Look Seshoumaru, this is really hard to explain! Cut me some slack, will ya!”

 

Seshoumaru raised an elegant eyebrow. Had the wench just yelled at him? Before Kagome could say anything further, she found her back against the wall, two feet from the ground, her neck in Seshoumaru's claws. His façade remained blank.

 

“Do not raise your voice at this Seshoumaru.”

 

Kagome nodded, terrified. Seshoumaru let go of her. She slumped to the floor gasping for breath. “I- I come from the future. 500 years from the future. The well is some kind of portal.” The words just blurted out of her mouth.

 

“Do you take this Seshoumaru for a fool.”

 

“I'm not lying. Haven't you noticed my clothes.”

 

Seshoumaru noticed that she didn't smell nervous, as a person would, if they were lying.

 

“I believe you miko. Tell me, why were you running from the half-breed?”

 

At this, Kagome's eyes filled with tears. She clenched her fists and whispered brokenly, “Your brother is a bastard. He's a fucking bastard.”

 

Seshoumaru remained impassive to her tears, “What has the half-breed done this time?”

 

Kagome raised bowed her head and whispered in a teary voice, “I had a fight with him yesterday and then I left for home. I returned today, and I saw him and Kikyo in the forest. They were planning to kill me, to bring the bitch back to life.”

 

Seshoumaru racked his brains. This miko was very unusual. It would be a waste to kill her or let her be killed. He felt very disgusted at his brother, for doing such a deed.

Suddenly, he came to a decision, “Miko, I have a proposal for you. You can have my protection if you agree to train Rin as a miko. Rin is growing up and she also needs a female companion.”

 

Kagome nodded her head, “I'll accept if it means that I'm protected from Inuyasha. But I will be allowed to go home once a month.” Seshoumaru nodded in agreement. “That is acceptable. You should rest now.” With that he exited the room. Kagome stood shakily staring at the door, then trudged to the bed and collapsed on the bed, closing her eyes and losing herself in sweet oblivion.

 

In another part of the feudal era

 

“Kikyo, did everything go as planned?”

 

The dark priestess let out a harsh and nodded.

 

“Perfect.”
