Night before the ball. …..

 

 

Hold my hand Kagome don't let go, Inuyasha, I'm slipping. You have to trust me remember our promise. I'm sorry Inuyasha but I have to do this. (kagome lets go, and inuyasha stares in horror. NOOOOOOO.

 

Kagome and Inuyasha wake up in a cold sweat. They both walked to the kitchen Inuyasha senses her presence and vice versa. “What are you doing here?” they both asked at the same time. Kagome answer first “ I could sleep”. “Bad dream Inuyasha suggested. “Yeah” Inuyasha nodded, “same here”.

 

“Are you ready for tomorrow?” Asked Kagome. “ well I guess so, I mean I've lived for about 150 years and I've been alone. I guess it's time I settled down.” Kagome just stare at him in annoyance. “This is about the choice of a life time and you guess your ready how can you say that, at least you had 150 years to think about it. I only had 16.” Inuyasha quickly go in to the defensive. “wo, wo , wo Kagome I didn't mean any harm by it I was only being honest.

 

I never really wanted to be married in the beginning, I never felt about any one like I'm starting to feel about you. Kagome interjected an what exactly do you feel about me. Inuyasha blushed, and turned away waving his hand as to dismiss the question. “I really don't know. I've never felt it before, it's nothing.” Kagome walked up to Inuyasha “Come on tell me. I'll make a deal with you. If you tell me I'll tell you how I feel about you too.

 

Inuyasha put his finger on his chin as if in thought, then he lowered his head, “alright, I'll tell you. It's a different kind of feeling. I get nervous when I'm around you because I think I may do something stupid, when you get too close I get hot all over and then I can't stop thinking about you at all, your in my dreams, but I don't know how to sum all these feelings into one.”

 

Kagome sat there with her jaw dropped, she would have never guessed that Inuyasha of all people could say something so sweet without even knowing it. “Now it's your turn Kagome, get it out” Kagome rolled her eyes, “ alright, alright I kinda feel the same way, every time you even touch my finger or brush against my side my whole body goes aflame. I sometimes I get scared because of how much I think about you, which is just about all the time. I'm scared that if I get too close, that you will leave me and I will be out on the street by myself. My mother use to tell me that If a man doesn't respect you body, then they don't respect you and that was why I was hurt that day…”

 

Inuyasha cut in “First off, I'm not going to hurt you ever, I have as much respect for you as I do Sango and she's like my sister, that kiss and everything else was all consensual, but I won't do it anymore unless you let me know your ready. Also I want you and me to make a promise right here and right now, you'll never leave me and I'll never leave you, to ease both of our hearts of the same stress I promise to protect you with my life and I will never let you go.” Kagome was in tears. “I promise.” They hugged each other and then Kagome looked up “Inuyasha kiss me”.

 

They melded into one and became so wrapped up in each other that they didn't notice the queen coming in for a midnight snack. “I see you too are at it again”. They separated just like that day. The queen just smiled at the two kids before her, looking like a kid whose hand was caught in the cookie jar. Kagome quickly mumbled a goodnight and bolted up to her room. Inuyasha looked annoyed,” mom why did you have to do that, you know she's shy. The queen waved him off, “I was just having fun.” Inuyasha feh'd and stomped to his room. They both laid in their beds looking forward to tomorrow.
