Inuyasha and The gang walked up to the castle doors. As soon as they got to the first step the door opened and they were greeted with the faces of the King and Queen. As soon as the door opened queen Izayoi ran to Kagome and gave her a bear hug. “I was so scared that you wouldn't come back to us. I would never judge you Kagome, never run away like that again. Do you understand me” Kagome nodded her head and started to bow but the queen stopped her. “ You don't have to do that you are family now.

 

The King got serious all of the sudden “ Inuyasha, may I have a word with you”. He gave him a stern look which meant he really didn't have a choice in the matter. “Alright” Inyasha trudged after his father towards his office.

 

Kagome looked to the Queen, “What do you think that was about”? The queen looked as confused as she did. “I don't know, maybe it's a guy thing. The girls looked at each other and shrugged. “Anyway lets get you settled in Kagome, Sango, I know you have a tale to tell….so spill.” The Queen started giggling like a little girl again.

 

The girls went to Kagome's room and explained to the Queen what happened in their own points of views. Sango learned of the prophecy and the queen learned to horrible truth of Kagome's mother being Kikyo.

 

The queen looked far away and very deep in thought. She was trying to find a way to bring this up to Kagome. “ Kagome, now that you know where your fate lies, do you wish to accept it or run away from it.” Kagome looked at the queen I really don't know I'm so scared that I have to carry such a great task and I'm not even trained fully to become a miko.

 

To know that the world's fate rests at my shoulders and it all depends on my decision…”. The queen cut in, “So you understand that you and my son are to be married?

 

Kagome nodded, then looked doubtful, but I'm not sure if I'm ready. The Queen brighten up , “ you know, not so long ago I was in you shoes, the king had seen me and on the spot wanted me as his bride. I was about your age or a year younger 15 or 16. My parents were poor, so they could do nothing but let me go. I was taken to the castle and I soon fell in love with my husband.” The queen sighed while she reminisced on the “good old days”.

 

Kagome smiled at seeing the queen's happiness but had an objection. Although you were taken away and you fell in love, no offense but me and you are two different people and from the looks of it Inuyasha is nothing like his father.” The queen looked doubtful. “ You do have a point but understand, you can't hate him, you will have to live with him and him with you, try it out. He can't be that bad if he could get a kiss from you.” The queen smirked, Sango snickered , “She's got a good point Kagome” Kaogme was beet red, “well …I was only…then .. I didn't . Oh forget it”. Kagome just through her hands up in defeat. The Queen and Sango just looked at the blushing girl knowing full and well that the marriage would work.

Meanwhile in the Kings office…………

 

The King spoke in his serious/authoritive voice. “Inuyasha , I take it that she knows of the prophecy?” The king asked in question. Look up and rolled his eyes, “yes she knows everything but did you know that she is the daughter of Kikyo”? The Kings eyes widened “ I never would have thought that someone like her could be the daughter of that bitch” Inuyasha chuckled “ neither did I until she admitted it to Kaede. The King's eyes got big again “she's still alive after all these years?” Inuyasha nodded “yep, she's alive and kickin.” The King let the information sink in and then became serious again, well we all know that Kagome is the one and you also know that you have to propose to her at the ball next week. Inuyasha looked shell shocked, “how can we get married in a week and how come I never knew about this ball until know!!! The King smirked knowing full well how his son would react. “Son I planned it as soon as you too returned, don't worry it will all work out. After all she is the only female I know other than your mother who can put up with you.” Inuyasha just feh'd. “How can I propose to a girl that doesn't even like me? What if she says no?” The king replied “You want her to say yes don't you?” “Of course I want her to say yes if I ask her.” Inuyasha barked out before he understood what he had said. The King jumped up “AH HA got you to say it, you want her to say yes and from the earlier action I doubt she'd tell you no”. Inuyasha just hung his head in defeat, “ O.K you got me now what do we do” The King looked confused, “WE? You're the one that's going to ask her to marry you, not me.” Inuyasha just walked out of the office. “ I need to think” he yelled over his shoulder.
