InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Birthright ❯ Chapter 2 ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
AN: I guess the description for this one didn't suck so bad, because it's getting decent response, considering it was posted around midnight last night (Monday, Columbus day, around eight hours before school would start). I don't know what it is about Inuyasha and Kagome having sex, but it seems to draw in readers...*eyes her readers carefully* Anyways, here's another chapter. Hope the response stays up there. When the scenes start getting hotter and heavier, this will be upgraded from a T rating (on ff.net) to an M.

Chapter Two
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
His bitch was a fighter.
She struggled against him furiously, tears rolling down her flushed cheeks, head thrashing back and forth. Her nails scratched at him as she tried to fight him off. “Stop it...” She cried again and again, trying to get away from him. There were scratches on her forearms from his claws, faint bruises forming along them as well. She was covered in sweat from fighting him and it was making her a bit slippery.
She was giving him trouble, making finishing the mark difficult.
He snarled in displeasure, wrapping a hand through her hair and using her head to pull her close. She was shivering, tears still dripping from wide brown eyes. There was pain in there, a deep grief that he couldn't place easily. “Stop fighting me, bitch...” He whispered, running a clawed hand along her sweat soaked body. Her skin was chilled. He needed to warm her up or she'd catch a cold.
She shivered as his warm hand ran along her skin. It raised a layer of goose flesh in it's wake and she looked away, trying to not let him see how he affected her. “Please don't do this.” She whispered.
A growl rumbled through his chest. “You want it.” He snarled, pulling her close against him. He heard her gasp and the faint whimper leave her throat. She wouldn't meet his gaze. It was starting to annoy him. He growled deep in his chest. “Look at me, Kagome.” He snarled. Slowly, those beautiful brown eyes lifted to him. “You want it.”
A tear ran down her cheek and she shook her head slowly. “Not like this.” Her voice sounded pained. Raw. Like her heart was broken.
The truth hurt. He let out a violent snarl and pushed her away. The mark on her shoulder was dark purple, blotchy. Bruised. “Bitch.” He whispered fiercely, turning away from her. His lengthened claws dug into his palms and he could feel the instincts inside him telling to do it anyways. He could smell the faint scent of arousal wafting off of her and he wanted to finish it. Finish the mark, finish mating with her.
Without his hands to support her, she collapsed to the ground in a heap. Her body shook furiously, from the cold, from the emotions racing through her, from the feelings that he'd caused in her body. She was only human, and she loved him. She couldn't help but respond.
He listened to her soft crying and tried to steady himself. He failed. Slowly, he turned towards her, shedding his haori. He wrapped it around her, his demon blood still stirring, still too close to the surface. The red haze over his eyes still hadn't lifted. He forced himself to be gentle as he tilted his face up and began licking her face, cleaning away her tears. Her arousal wafted up to his nose and he growled softly. Too close. Too much.
She hiccuped slightly, then gasped in shock when his crimson eyes opened, looking directly at her.
An abrupt movement drew her close, and he brought his lips close to hers. He didn't kiss her, instead, he was staring into her eyes as he slipped his hands to her naked thighs and he pulled her into his lap, enjoying the sound of her gasp. “Tell me you don't want me.” He challenged. “Say you don't want me and I'll stop.” He drew her chest to his and growled deeply letting the sound vibrate through her body. He watched her eyes flutter closed, releasing a waiting tear. He moved, catching it on his tongue, clearing it away. Her breath sighed out of her and he pulled her hips against his, rubbing her against him through his hakama. “You can't say it, can you?” He whispered lightly against her ear.
“I...I...” She panted, her breath catching. “Am I dreaming?” She whispered, squeezing her eyes shut tightly.
“Keh, don't be ridiculous.” He snarled, then tangled his fist into her hair, jerking her head back and searching her face. “This is my dream.” Then, he pressed his mouth against hers, kissing her so hard, he could feel her teeth through their joined lips. He slipped his free hand inside the haori, caressing her soft skin as she gasped against his mouth. He smirked in victory.
She was his.
Inuyasha came awake, and woke Kagome as he moved quickly from her side. He pressed his fists against the ground, his eyes wide in shock. His entire body trembled as he struggled to regain control of himself. He lifted one hand and clutched Tetsusaiga so hard, that he heard a loud cracking noise. His eyes jolted wide and he looked down, finding the ivory in the handle had cracked in several places from the force of his grip. “Shit...” He whispered fiercely.
Two soft hands touched his shoulder and Kagome's scent wafted under his nose. Underlying her normal scent, he caught another scent, also hers. Something that he shouldn't have recognized.
She was aroused.
He hissed sharply, jerking from her grasp. “Don't touch me!” He snarled, whirling on her.
Kagome fell backwards onto her rump in shock. There wasn't a trace of gold in those red eyes. His claws had grown long, and she could see that his fangs had grown longer as well. On his face were those two distinct purple slashes, one each. He'd transformed. Holding Testusaiga in a death grip, and he'd still transformed. She bit her lip, slowly backing away, wondering what to do.
He realized through some instinct he didn't know he had, that she was going to run. “Don't run!” He warned her, taking deep breaths, trying to clear the red haze from his vision. “If you run, I'll chase you...” He dug his claws into the earth, squeezing his eyes shut. “Just...give me a minute...”
Kagome took a deep breath, eying him. “Should I use the rosary?” She asked softly.
He took a deep breath to calm himself and shook his head. “I'm still in control.” Barely. He didn't tell her that, though. Instead, he tried to remember before they'd fallen asleep. He'd leaned back against a tree, expecting her to get out her sleeping bag. Only to be surprise when she'd sat beside him, resting her cheek on his shoulder. He'd said something rude and she'd stuck her tongue out at him in a childish manner. They'd stayed like that, regardless, Inuyasha needing the contact, and he suspected Kagome wanted to feel like she was comforting him.
Slowly, his stirring blood settled and the red haze cleared from his vision. He could still smell the faint scent of arousal on her, but also the scent of wariness and worry. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, relaxing. He was back in control. For now at least.
A small hand gently turned his face up. “Was it another dream?” She asked softly.
He took a steadying breath, nodding. They were coming more often. The last one had only been the night before last. The one before that had been five days ago. Before that, nearly two weeks exactly. He pulled back, running a frustrated hand through his hair. But this one had been different. True, it started the same, but in the end, it changed. She'd gone from an unwilling partner, to an active participant. He quickly looked away, not wanting Kagome to see the mixed and frantic emotions running through him.
“This is the third in a week...” She said softly, dropping her hands and lacing her fingers. “I'm worried about you.” She said softly, biting her lip. It was true. Inuyasha hadn't had this much controlling trouble his demon blood...well, ever, really. Even back when Tetsusaiga broke, he only lost control when his life was in danger. “And your bloods becoming more active...” She looked at the deep gashes he'd carved with his fingers and blushed, rubbing her neck. She wasn't certain what had happened before she'd been rudely awakened by a Hanyou moving as far away from her as possible, but she'd been dreaming about a math test, when suddenly, she was sitting on Inuyasha's lap and he was pressed against her and he was growling something in her ear.
Inuyasha bit his lip, taking a steadying breath. “I can't fucking do this...” He growled, his hands tightly fisted. He hated admitting weakness, but he didn't seem to have a choice. He dug his fingers into his hair and growled under his breath. “I can't...” He'd lost control of his blood for just a moment this time, and he'd barely been able to fight it off. He could have hurt her.
A gentle hand touched his face, easing it up. There were several emotions swimming through those eyes, sadness among them. “You're not alone.” She whispered, her fingers traveling along his jaw in a gentle caress. His eyes fell closed at the touch. “You're surrounded by people who care for you, and we'll help you however we can.”
He leaned into her touch, his clawed hand coming up to hold it against his face. “Kagome...” He whispered softly. His breath shuddered out of him and he forced himself to look at her face. “I don't want to hurt you.” He whispered.
She smiled, her eyes warming. “You wont.” She said softly.
The tone in her voice, the look in her eyes spoke volumes. They said things that her lips didn't say. The trust in her eyes broke his heart. Roughly, awkwardly, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms. “You can't know that.” He whispered, pressing his face into her neck. Her scent was so pure there. So clean. He closed his eyes, feeling the faint stirring of his blood. Angrily, he tamped it down. This wasn't sexual. This wasn't desire or lust. This was comfort. That was all.
She felt his blood stir briefly when his face pressed against the area he'd pointed at only two days prior. When it subsided, she felt him relax and gently stroked his hair. “I do know.” She said softly. She squeezed him gently, pressing her own face against his shoulder. “I know.”

As days passed without another dream, Inuyasha grew more and more ragged. It was as if the drawn out approach was seeking to drive him insane so he'd be less resistant when his control finally snapped. His claws were curled into tight fists, and when they reached the village, he disappeared into the forest for hours at a time, running himself to exhaustion.
On the nights where his blood was stirring worst, he wouldn't let himself fall asleep, instead choosing to stare out the tiny window in Kaede's hut.
By their third day in the village, everyone was avoiding the temperamental hanyou, with the exception of his friends, who were staying close, making sure he was alright. Mostly they were guarding him and Kagome, because if he snapped, no one was really sure what he'd do.
Kagome seemed the most relaxed of their group. Kaede wasn't sure if she was pretending so that everyone else thought that all was well, or if she was simply in denial. She was the only one that would get close enough to Inuyasha that she would touch him. Usually, he would relax at the small touches, but now and then he'd grow tense and get to his feet, walking away.
Those nights, he would cling to Tetsusaiga's scabbard.
The metal workers in the village had taken the sword to replace the tsuka, which no one was really certain how Inuyasha had managed to crack. All they knew was it looked like it had been crushed.
On the fourth day, Kagome sat in the hut, waiting for Inuyasha to return, while Sango and Miroku had gone out looking for shard rumors. Kaede sat in the hut and was stirring a pot of soup.
“Kaede?” Kagome asked, biting her lips and fiddling with a stack of papers. “I'm getting worried about him.” She said softly, setting the papers aside and looking towards the entry.
“Inuyasha is strong. He will be fine.”
The girl laced her fingers around her knees. “He's going to go insane.” She said softly. “He said...” She glanced towards the woman, wondering if she should share some of the burden. “He said that he's been dreaming that his demon form has attacked me, but he's also said they're not nightmares.”
Kaede looked at her sharply. “Knowing this, you're still staying close?!”
Kagome twiddled her thumbs. “I love him.” She said quietly.
They went silent for a long time. She stared at the floor, feeling the old woman's eyes on her. She loved him and she'd do anything for him. She would do whatever it took to make these dreams go away. “I wonder if Sesshoumaru has found anything...”
“It is unlikely. Few hanyou live to adulthood.” Kaede said calmly. “And as far as I know, Inuyasha is the only hanyou that has the blood of a great demon.”
Kagome nodded. It didn't seem fair. Inuyasha was hurting, but he wouldn't tell her what was wrong. She wasn't sure if he was trying to protect her or himself. Maybe a bit of both. Slowly, she rose, walking towards the entrance of the hut. “I'm going to go look for him.” She announced, then started walking briskly towards the forest.
She ignored Kaede's objections.
She was going to find out what was wrong with him, if she had to beat it out of him. As she entered the trees, she felt the first fluttering in her stomach that said his demon blood was trying to gain control of him. Her walk turned into a full run. She ignored the branches scratching her, instead pushing forward, desperate to get to the boy who was in emotional agony.
She found him asleep at the base of Goshinboku.
His face had deep purple slashes on it, his claws had lengthened nearly an inch, and his fangs protruded from his mouth.
Her hands covered her mouth and she rushed towards him, and dropped to her knees. She reached towards his face and as her fingertips touched his skin, she felt a mental flinch, and then it was like a door opened for her. Hesitantly, she let her spirit get pulled forward and she found herself looking up through eyes that were and weren't hers. She was crying and struggling, and straddling Inuyasha's lap.
Kagome jerked back mentally and physically, eyes wide in shock. It was like her dream the other night. But she was awake now. Did that mean...She looked at the tense face and heard a growl in his chest. Inuyasha was dreaming of those things? A flush colored her face and she wondered why he thought she would fight him. She bit her lip, reaching towards his face and when she felt the flinch, she pushed forward, finding herself once again in what seemed well enough like a physical body, but was in fact not. His hands ran down her ribs, towards her buttocks and she gasped softly when he pulled her against him. Her cheeks felt warm, embarrassed about peeping into this dream, but he'd invited her. Besides, if she could calm his jyaki before he woke, things would be okay.
“See...” He growled into her face. “You want this, too. So stop fighting, bitch-”
Kagome reached up, caressing those stripes, suddenly aware of being both in and out of her body, beside and on Inuyasha. It was a strange sensation. “Do you?” She asked softly.
His eyes flashed in annoyance. “What?” He snapped.
“Do you want this?”
He snarled at her. “What the hell do you think?”
She rested her forehead against his. “I think you're only doing this because of your demon blood.” She admitted. She saw a flash of gold in those red eyes and slipped her hands into his hair. This might be her only chance. She was too chicken to do it otherwise. An honest kiss. A kiss like she meant it. Something hot, a little dark. She closed her eyes and pressed her lips against his. She felt him jump startled, and heard a pleased growl in his throat. She lightly licked his lips, and when they parted, she swept in, tasting him, letting him taste her. His claws pricked her backside lightly as he pulled her closer, and she lightly scratched his ears.
Inuyasha, meanwhile was completely flabbergasted. Here, the girl who'd been struggling only moments before was making him surrender to a kiss that he'd never imagined giving her. Her tongue caressed his, her hands going from combing his hair to digging into his scalp. To his shock, he could also feel his jyaki calming. It was as if because she was willing, his demon side didn't mind stepping aside.
Slowly, the kiss went from dark to tender. Kagome felt the grasp on her bottom slide up to the small of her back and his other hand continued up, caressing the nape of her neck. She could feel his jyaki had dropped and slowly, she pulled back, finding confused golden eyes staring up at her. “It's time to wake up, Inuyasha.” She said, then pulled back mentally. When she was back to normal, she forced herself to school her expression, gently stroking his smooth skin as he woke.
His features were back to normal.
He stirred slightly, feeling gentle hands caressing his face. Opening his eyes, he found concerned ones looking down at him. “Kagome?” He asked thickly.
She gave him a slight smile. She brushed his hair from his face and stood, offering him her hand. “Let's go to the village.” She offered, her eyes warm, soft.
They reminded him of the look she'd given him in his dream. Right before her lips had willingly, desperately connected with his. As if she'd wanted him as much as he'd wanted her. A glance down found he had the same problem he'd had after every dream. He was hard, throbbing, and his hakama were chaffing him uncomfortably. He glanced away and took her hand, letting his arms cross over his chest when his feet were under him, shielding it from sight.
She saw he was trying to put space between them and frowned. She walked beside him, contemplating what had just happened. She played with her fingers, a slight frown on her face. Everything had left her deeply confused. She had just wandered easily into one of his dreams.
If all of these dreams were like that, no wonder he was so troubled. He was afraid he would rape her. She sighed, biting her lip. What on earth was she supposed to do with this wonderful, perfect, incredibly stupid hanyou that she loved so much it hurt?
Inuyasha peered at her from the corner of his eyes, seeing her lost in her own musings. “I think you should go home.” He said quietly.
She paused, looking towards him. Her eyes were wide and innocent. “Why on earth would you say that?” Her eyes narrowed, and suddenly, his little spit fire was there. She turned towards him fully, stopping and poking him in the chest, stopping him as well. She only just managed to keep from blushing at how close he stood to her. She kept her finger at his chest, just below the rosary.
He stared at her, dumbfounded. “I've fucking told you why! I'm losing control of my demon blood! I don't want to hurt you!” He finally yelled at her, frustration filling him. He knocked her hand away. “What's so freaking hard to understand about that?!”
Kagome was slightly taken aback by his honesty. She continued to stand in front of him, her hands clenching and relaxing. She lowered her gaze, staring at the ground, shaking.
“If...If I snap...I want you out of harm's way...” He said quietly. He could see her trembling, see the way her hands were fisted. She was either crying or was about to scream her head off. He was never really certain with her, though, so he stayed on his guard.
She lifted her face, looking him dead in the eye. Then, she slapped him.
He stared at her, completely dumbstruck, the pink mark fading quickly from his cheek. He raised his hand, lightly caressing where she'd struck him. She was angry. God, was she angry. Her brown eyes were burning in anger and frustration, almost like they were alive. “Kagome...” He said, completely stunned.
“I knew you were selfish...” She ground her teeth together so hard, Inuyasha heard the strain. “I didn't realize you were this selfish.”
He snarled at her. “What the hell are you talking about?!”
“If you snap and I'm not here to subdue you, what happens to everyone else?!” She yelled. “What are you so scared of that you want me to run away and leave everyone without the one person who could stop you?!”
“I don't want to hurt you!”
“You don't want to hurt humans, Inuyasha.” She poked him in the chest hard. “I remember when you killed those bandits! You beat yourself up about it constantly for weeks! So you'd better have a better excuse than not wanting to 'hurt' me!”
He was getting angry too, and with his anger, the demon blood was becoming more active. Was she trying to push him to his limits. “What the hell does it matter?! Why do you fucking care?!” He shoved her away from him, his jyaki reacting to her nearness, her irritation, and it was fluctuating. Couldn't she feel that?! Why was she pushing this?!”
“Why do I care?” She asked, her voice rising to a screech that made his ears flick back to protect themselves. “Why do I care?! I care because I fucking love you, you idiot!” She saw his golden eyes flash wide and her brain caught up with her mouth. Her hands slapped down over it, as if to take the words back and she stared up at his stunned face, tears gathering in her eyes. Well, that cat was out of the bag. It wasn't like everyone hadn't known for ages.
She had two choices. Run away and give Inuyasha what he wanted, or stay here and risk getting her heart broken.
To be honest, she was tired of running. Besides. She didn't want Inuyasha to think he could muscle her around by making her embarrass herself.
Meanwhile, the hanyou couldn't believe his ears. She loved him. She said she loved him. He stared down into her stunned eyes and knew she'd been holding that inside for a very long time. His breath sighed out of him and he felt a strange tightness in his chest. “Kagome...?”
She lowered her hands, feeling the hurt already. “I love you.” She said again. “You can't expect me to just walk away when you're troubled.” She looked at her hands, playing with her fingers. She suddenly felt very afraid of what he would say. Very afraid of the possible ramifications of what she'd just said. Slowly, she looked up at the very confused, concerned hanyou. “You don't have to say anything.” She said softly. “I know you don't feel the same. It's something I've lived with for a long time.” She chewed her lip, turning away from him. “But you better not say any of that kind of stupid stuff about me leaving again. I'm staying until we figure out what's wrong.”
He watched her start walking and grabbed her wrist, pulling her against his chest. He didn't know what to say. She loved him. His heart thundered against his chest and he felt moisture gathering in his eyes. No, this wasn't something he should fucking cry about. He should be happy. He should be thrilled. If he wasn't sad or relieved, why the hell was he crying?
Because he'd never thought he would hear anyone say that ever again.
Even Kikyou had never said the words.
The last person who had said they loved him was his mother. He pressed his face into her shoulder, hugging her shoulder's tightly. He hid his face, feeling his body trembling. Tears slipped silently from his eyes, soaking the shoulder of her uniform. Those words had gone unspoken for so long. He closed his eyes, feeling her hands wrap around the backs of his and she leaned back into him. When the tears finally stopped, he breathed easier. He rested his chin on her shoulder, nuzzling the side of her head. “If you stay, I might lose that.” He warned softly.
She turned towards him, seeing a twinge of fear in his eyes. She knew he was afraid of his dreams, still. She gently dried his face, her eyes softening. “Why are you so certain that if these dreams are premonitions, that I'll hate you?”
He searched her face. There was that trust he needed to see you. The words fell from his lips before he could stop them. “Because my demon half rapes you.” He said, his voice a tortured whisper.
Kagome was actually surprised that he told her the truth. Gently, she caressed his face. “Don't worry.” She said softly. “It's only rape if I say no.” She pushed onto her tiptoes and kissed his cheek lightly.
He was stunned by the unaffected response. She should be furious. “Kagome, in the dreams, you're fighting me!”
She slipped her hand in his, feeling as though some of the chains on her heart had broken. “I'm not afraid of you, Inuyasha.” She said softly. If she'd known getting the truth out would have made her feel this good on the insides, she would have done it ages ago.
“Kagome-”
“I'm not leaving.” She looked up at him, tugging him towards the village. “Besides, I have to ask Kaede why I seem to be getting some new...abilities...” She frowned slightly.
“Like what?” He grumbled.
“Like slipping into dreams when I'm invited.” She looked away before he looked at her. “I think I've done it twice now.” She admitted. “Hopefully Kaede will know something. Otherwise, I may have to go to my time and do some research. In which case...” She looked towards him. “I want you with me.”
“What are you talking about?” He asked, frowning.
She blushed, lowering her gaze. “Your last two dreams. I've wound up an active participant.” She said quietly. “When I came upon you today, you'd transformed. When I touched you to wake you-”
“You tried to wake me even though I was in my demon form?!”
She soldiered on. “I found myself in what I suppose was your dream...” She glanced towards him. “I didn't know you thought of me like that.” She said quietly.
His eyes widened and he stopped abruptly. “You mean...?”
She blushed, lowering her gaze. “Hmm. The kiss was voluntary.” She glanced towards him, seeing a stunned expression in his eyes. She gave him a tender smile. “What do you expect? Now that you know, I'm not going to go back to holding back. It's kind of liberating...” She stepped away from him, spinning, extending her arms. “Like the weight I've been carrying was lifted.”
He caught her wrist, his face serious. He pulled her to his chest, a growl deep in his chest. There was a stirring, a fluttering inside him and he closed his eyes, pressing his forehead against hers. She looked so happy. So calm, despite knowing that he was losing control. His demon blood was off balance enough that he wasn't too worried that he'd transform. He remembered her kiss after the dream before this one and his eyes opened, focusing on her soft mouth. He slowly turned his face, caressing her lips lightly with his.
Kagome gasped at the contact, her free hand clutching his haori. Her knees went weak and she felt his arms steal around her waist, supporting her, holding her against him. She stared up into his eyes, seeing the fear in them. She sighed softly against his lips, her eyes falling closed, her hand relaxing, the gentle pressure on her lips relaxing her completely. Maybe it wasn't a confession of love. It was a kiss, a gentle, warm kiss. His lips slowly began to slide against hers and she laced her fingers with his.
He sniffed her closely, praying that the scent of distress didn't rise to his nose, and he was pleasantly surprised that she was kissing him back, completely willing. His breath shuddered out of him and he hugged her even closer, parting her lips and delving into her mouth. It was her. He'd never kissed her like this, tasted her like this before, but in the dream, this is exactly how she'd felt, how she'd tasted. In the other dreams, he'd been a little off, his knowledge of her scent trying to provide a flavor. He moaned and their linked hands separated, his hands cupping the sides of her face, trying to pull her even closer.
She pressed against him a soft whimper escaping her as his lips left hers, their foreheads resting together as they tried to catch their breath. Kagome gave him a smile, one that made his mind turn to mush.
She loved him.
He slowly wrapped his arms around her, embracing her tightly. He rested his chin on her head, feeling her burrowing into his chest. “Thank you.” He said softly. Those words said everything. Thank you for staying, for not running from me, for kissing me, for loving me. Everything.
They stood like that for a long time, until finally, Inuyasha pulled away, taking a steadying breath. “Alright, wench.” He said quietly. “Let's go find out why you can walk into my dreams.”

Chapter Two
0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0
