Chapter Two
~~~~~~~
Glistening silver-white hair fluttered as Shippo crossed the room and slid open the glass sliding doors separating the glass room from the balcony. Everything was smooth and…too clean. Suki frowned, taking in her surroundings first before she caught a glimpse of the silvery cascades.
“Oro?” her eyes widened as the tall man standing before the setting sun of Tokyo city turned to face them. “HOLY SHIT!”
“Imoutosan, language!” cried Momi, panicking.
“OMG I’VE SEEN YOU BEFORE!” she cried, stepping towards the desk that separated the man from them.
“Excuse me? Miss Inoue, your secretary is a disgrace to your very new company. I suggest you release her from her services to you,” he said in an icy drawl.
“Excuse me, Sesshoumaru-sama, but you just insulted the one who came up with your security program and designed the OS of your master computer. If she wished, she could bring down your entire operations in this facility and more. Please be kind enough to respect her status here,” responded Himeko softly, her face flushed slightly in anger and embarrassment.
“In that case, I respect her genius in the technological field and request that you have someone help her improve on her manners. I have no time for children in this facility. Surely you understand our line of work..?” His molten gold eyes glared down at Suki, making her whimper softly in fear.
“I’m not lying… I know you. A couple days ago that guy was badly injured and… there was someone else. He looked kind of like you but he had ears!” she said almost pleadingly, gesturing wildly at Shippo. The two men exchanged glances, making no other acknowledgement of her cry. Momi came up and patted Suki’s head while pulling her back gently. Sesshoumaru glanced down at her for a moment and then cleared his throat.
“If we are quite finished with the outbursts, we have business to discuss, I
believe,” he said crisply, taking a seat at the head of a rectangular table in the middle of the room. Himeko sat at the other end, Aki and Suki on either side of her, pulling out their laptops, Aki’s gaze drifting over their pouty little sister. Momi rubbed Suki’s back gently and smiled, pulling out a couple of papers, pre-prepared by Himeko.
“These are the mandatory conditions you will be signing under, if you choose to sign with us. We will never be unable to provide the money you need; however, it must be paid back with 11% interest over a 5year period at most, in this case. As we understand it, you wish to make a large investment in the new weapons development in Russia as well as oil wells in the Middle East. The money put into the oil must be backed with another 12% fine monthly, 5% of which to be contributed to the funding of research in the hydrogen car, as indicated in section 15 of the Global Warming Prevention Acts of the United Nations. Furthermore there is 15,000,000,000 Yen that you must pay as collateral. It will be returned once you have paid the full amount of the original loan with interest,” said Himeko clearly, her Japanese perfect, her face displaying no emotion whatsoever. Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow, considering the girl’s words. ‘She is good at this for a mortal,’ he thought before answering.
“Very well. My endeavor requires 22billion American dollars. Half of this amount is for the oil. Shippo…” he looked back at Shippo, who proceeded to take out a calculator and a pad of paper.
“The total cost is $25,740,000,000 in American bills,” said Himeko, calculating it before Shippo could even put it into the calculator. He checked it hastily and looked to Sesshoumaru, not masking his surprise or amazement. Suki’s eyes went wide, but not at her friend’s math skills. Shippo had suddenly grown a tail and claws. His ears were pointy, and sharp white fangs poked out over his bottom lip. She pulled on Momi’s sleeve for attention and whispered this fact in her ear. Shippo and Sesshoumaru turned toward her, both of them frowning, their superior hearing picking up her whisper. Momi frowned and rubbed Suki’s back.
“Hunny, you’re probably just tired. That’s gotta be it… Do you want some Tylenol? Do you have a headache?” she asked, concerned.
“No, I’m okay.” At that moment there was a knock at the conference room door and a silver-haired boy came in, looking much younger than the first Taisho. Both Suki and Momi stared at him. He glanced at the group, his eyes resting on Momi for a moment before turning toward Sesshoumaru.
“Sorry for being late,” he said casually, walking over and sitting to the right of Sesshoumaru. The tycoon’s eyes glared down at the boy for a moment and then went back to the contract in his hands. He read through it quickly while everyone continued to stare at him and the boy.
“Whatcha starin’ at?” he growled, glaring at the group of girls.
“You’re the he-she from the motorbike!” said Suki happily, “and you have fuzzy ears!!!” Inuyasha took a moment to comprehend what she said. Shippo instinctively took cover behind the only sane one there: Aki.
“He…she?? YOU LITTLE BRAT!” Inuyasha shouted, and, having finally understood what Suki said, launched himself at her. His fingers wrapped around her throat, lifting her up, out of her chair. Momi stopped staring and growled, infuriated.
“Get-your-hands-off-my-baby-sister!!!” she shouted, appearing to tower over the boy in her anger.
“She called me a HE-SHE!” he screamed, a vein pulsing in his temple.
“PUT HER DOWN NOW” Momi dug her fingernails into Inuyasha’s wrist, but he refused to budge. Suddenly he felt something brush against his skin: the electric, pure energy seemed very familiar. He looked up at the girl he was holding and found her eyes to be swimming with a deep, pure silver. His eyes widened and he dropped Suki abruptly. Momi and Himeko stooped over her, worried and a bit frightened. In the corner, Aki was petting Shippo’s head, cooing that she wouldn’t let the horrible Inu-puppy hurt anyone.
“OH MY GOD, YOU LITTLE FAG! YOU EVER TOUCH HER AGAIN, IM GOING TO KILL YOU!” shouted Momi, her eyes flashed emerald for a moment before fading back to their normal blue-gray. Inuyasha looked taken aback for a moment, and then reared, growling.
“Watch it, Girl! She’s the one that insulted ME first!”
“SHE’S A LITTLE GIRL AND SHES MY SISSY! YOU DO NOT PICK ON LITTLE GIRLS!!!”
“SHE’S GOTTA BE AT LEAST 20 FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!” he said, gesturing towards her and growling at Suki, muttering ‘squirt’ under his breath.
“DON’T POINT AT HER! YOU’RE SO RUDE!” cried Momi, her eyes darkening once more, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides, as if she wanted to slap Inu.
“Enough,” said Sesshoumaru, glaring coldly at everyone in the room (except Aki and Shippo). “Inuyasha, you dishonor me and our corporation by behaving so rudely in front of our partners,” he directed the comment, obviously, to the still-angry Inuyasha, but his eyes were on Suki and Momi.
Shippo came over and helped Suki up, leading her back to her seat. Inuyasha plopped down next to Sesshoumaru and pulled out a laptop, still grumbling about the stupidity of women; a glare from Momi quickly quieted him, however. Suki blinked a couple times and pouted, rubbing her throat.
“Okay,” said Himeko in a strained and tired voice, “Let’s get back to business. Sesshoumaru-sama, do you or do you not wish to enter under contract with my company?” she said softly, almost pleadingly. He sat there, pondering his options, thoughts running through his mind. ‘Must I truly work with such a… dramatic group? And that girl… what manner of human is she? And the one whom Inuyasha seems to fear; is she human at all? Her scent is masked…’ his thoughts trailed off. “Sesshoumaru-sama? I request an answer, please. With all due respect, I would like to end this fiasco on a happier note and get back to my new home. Suki-chan has suffered plenty of abuse while in this facility and my nerves are fried.”
“Very well,” said Sesshoumaru distractedly, taking the contract and quickly reading through it, signing at the bottom of every page. “However, I insist that he girl-child learns better manners.” Suki looked at her hands, annoyed at the Inu-puppy and ashamed for her behavior, and even more confused at why she saw a sleek, tawny tail poking out from Shippo’s Gucci pants. She tried to ignore it while it swished back and forth, and soon found a relevant distraction: a voice conference with Russia.
“Would you like to speak with your weapons and ammunitions providers now, Sesshoumaru-sama?” asked Himeko as Aki and Suki started taking out equipment, pressing a button in the center of the table, making a plate of glass framed in brushed platinum rise out of it. A series of LaserWrite wires crisscrossed over it as Suki and Aki plugged cords from their laptops into it. They typed rapidly, their fingers becoming blurs as they connected to their company’s communications satellite uplink. In a few moments, the screen changed from luminescent blue to opaque white with the blue and gray logo of Nova Group Arms and Ammunitions. This symbol, in turn, faded into the face of an intimidating character. Sesshoumaru and Himeko barely acknowledged this and immediately launched into discussions over shipments and prices. It took two hours for the online-conference to be completed, but in the end Suki and Aki transmitted an estimate total price for all of the weapons development and such and a contract was signed and faxed before being sent back to Himeko. Everyone sat with satisfied smiles on their faces except for Sesshoumaru, who never smiled. His eyes, however, were on the bouncy, child-like girl currently being catered to by Shippo. Hundreds of miles from Tokyo, in Osaka, a dark figure shook with anger.
“Li!” he barked at the closed door of his office. The door opened silently, admitting a red-haired hanyou, her eyes a sparkling deep emerald.
“Hai, Shu-sama?” she said softly, bending on one knee.
“Li, Sesshoumaru is now aware of their existence,” hissed the dark man, his piercing, blood red eyes shining eerily in the shadows of the room.
“Whose existence, Shu-sama?” she asked calmly, aware that she was about to be reprimanded for her ignorance.
“Who else would I be speaking of, you fool! The incarnations of the Shikon no Tama!” he shouted, his deep voice shaking Li’s body in its intensity.
“Hai, Shu-sama, of course. I spoke without thinking,” she said, gritting her teeth to bite back the flow of angry comments threatening to spill from her traitorous lips. The man stepped into the small pool of light in the center of the room where Li knelt, laughing manically.
“You are angry with me, Li?” he smiled, the would-be indicator of joy not reaching his eyes, making him look distorted. Li did not tremble although a bit of fear nagged at the back of her mind.
“Hai, Shu-sama.”
“You know you may call me Shiinha when we are on our own,” he whispered, his hand cupping Li’s cheek. Despite herself she leaned into his touch, looking up at him pleadingly. He laughed. “My beautiful Li… You have always stood beside me, even in my follies, and I will reward you greatly. You shall be my queen once we conquer those fool conformists and the useless humans.” His hand drifted down her throat, caressing with its fingertips, making a small shiver pass down Li’s spine. He leaned into her and kissed her gently, his lips burning hers, his tongue snaking past her lips, tasting her. He pulled away, looking down at the one who claimed to love him, and laughed. This chilling, cruel laugh sent shivers throughout the whole estate.
Li stood finally, having stayed in that same spot for almost an hour now, in the same position, her face hidden. She left the room just as quietly as she entered it and walked down the dark corridor to an ebony door engraved with the images of feudal Japan. Her cheong-sam fluttered around her knees as she opened the door, dimming light of the late afternoon flooding the corridor for a moment before she closed it behind her, stepping into a dojo of sorts. It was close to be called an arena, as it appeared to have no ceiling. In reality, a web of LaserWrite lighting up as she came in, indicating that the glass, motion detecting ceiling was active, watching her every move as she walked toward a wall filled with racks of weapons. She merely turned slightly to the left as she neared the nearest case of knives and pushed a hidden button on the inside of the case.
Immediately a target sprung up out of the floor, and crouching, Li drew four shuriken for each hand, held delicately between her fingers. With a swift movement, her long braid of fiery hair twisting around her shoulders as she spun, a shuriken became imbedded deep in the targets. She went and pulled them out again, going back to the wall to press the button, making the targets disappear back into their hidden panels in the walls and floor. She sheathed her shuriken in the belts harnessed about her upper thighs and walked to the other side of the room, slamming her fist against another hidden panel. This one popped open with a snap and revealed a collapsed keyboard, a flat wireless phone, and a set of what appeared to be light blue sunglasses. Inside of the little compartment revealed by the panel was a folded white jumpsuit. She pulled it out, slung it over her arm, and dialed a number on the phone.
“Koga?” she asked the voice on the other line, sounding slightly groggy. “Wake up you fool, I want to play a game,” she snapped.
“Woah! Li, what the fuck happened to you? Shu-sama being an ass again?” asked Koga with a hint of amusement. It was rare that Li was this emotional about anything.
“Shut up, Koga, and get your hairy ass down here!” she shouted into the phone, slamming it back onto the receiver before going to change. A few minutes later, the two stood in the center of the room, wearing the sunglass-like-things.
“Before we start, I would like to say that I want a handicap and that I do NOT have a hairy ass. I have a tail. There’s a difference,” he said turning and waving said brown tail.
“Whatever. Pick a level and a zone. I wanna beat someone’s ass,” she growled, clenching her fists and glaring at Koga impatiently.
“Fine, fine,” he said, pushing a button on the side of the glasses, moving his finger down along the rim of the glasses and setting the level. The glass LaserWrite ceiling went dark for a moment and flashed blue and white. Immediately the room was transformed from a training hall to a simulation war game. Koga and Li stood in the middle of a field of grain as monsters came from every direction. They both lashed out quickly and efficiently, bringing down most of their enemies with one blast of their Magic commands and weapons. The two fought their way through the field and to the edge of a forest, disappearing along the tree line.
“Koga,” whispered Li into her mouthpiece, “This feels weird. Do you think we’re in the right place? I don’t remember this being in the level.” Koga started to respond but his words were replaced by snow. “Koga?!”
“Li-sama,” said a feminine voice.
“Jakotsu you ruined my ass-kicking time!” shouted Li with a hint of a whine to her voice.
“Awww… I’m sorry, but Bankotsu wants to know what we’re supposed to be doing about those Shikon incarnations,” he said, sounding apologetic.
“Didn’t he read the briefing file?” asked Li incredulously.
“Well…” here, Jakotsu mumbled something inaudible to those without youkai hearing.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE CAN’T READ?!” Li ripped off her simulation goggles and threw them at the wall. The air around her was charged with her energy, nearing the boiling point.
“I said he’s almost illiterate; I didn’t say that he can’t read at all…” pouted Jakotsu in his friend’s defense. Li grabbed a dazed Koga and hooked arms with the very feminine Jakotsu, leading them both to Bankotsu’s quarters.
“BANKOTSU!” she shouted, slamming open his door.
“Whoa… Li-sama, what happened? You’re so… different today,” he said, his face showing nothing but innocence.
“What is this I hear about you being illiterate?” she hissed, her eyes cold.
“But I’m not illiterate,” said Bankotsu. “Look it’s my name!” he said, holding up a piece of paper with sloppy kanji written on it… backwards.
“You‘re an idiot,” sighed Li while Koga doubled over in laughter and Jakotsu showed his friend how to correct the writing. “Anyway, that briefing was basically instructions to find the girl called Nakashima Suki and bring her back here. She is to be taken discreetly. She is to be drugged and handled gently,” said Li softly but sternly.
“Hai, Li-sama!” Bankotsu smiled
“Hmmm…” Jakotsu looked thoughtful.
“Something wrong?” inquired Li.
“Iie, That name, it’s the same as my older sister’s friend’s.”
“Aki?” Li snapped her fingers and Koga brought a file to her. She ruffled through it for a moment then sighed. Jakotsu caught her expression and clenched his fists at his sides.
“What’s she done to deserve Shinha-sama’s personal attention? She’s just so adorable; I doubt that she’d hurt even a fly,” he said, worry lacing his voice.
“Jakotsu, you will stay here for this assignment. Koga, no, I will accompany Bankotsu,” said Li, stopping Jakotsu’s arguments before they could start.
Outside, equipped with a syringe full of Novocain, Li stood and waited for Bankotsu. The velvety night swirled around her as she took flight, winks bursting from her and bringing her 100 miles with one burst. She felt Bankotsu following beneath her, running.
In Tokyo, Suki lay in bed, thinking about the day’s events and the very rude Inuyasha. Something passed her window and she turned, staring out at the dark. She yawned, dismissing whatever she saw as the branches of the willow waving in the wind. Suki climbed into bed and soon drifted into a deep sleep, her dreams bringing her closer to Sesshoumaru.
In her dream, he was wearing a white haori and yukata with red sakura embroidered on the sleeves and the pant legs. A sash of royal gold and purple tied at his waist, around shiny metal armor, giving him the appearance of a warrior. Two swords were sheathed and secured at his waist. At the moment, all he did was stare at the moon. His long silver-white tresses shone brightly against the velvety dark of the night, his body casting a type of luminescence beneath the moon’s light. He slowly turned and looked into Suki’s eyes. She felt something pounding in her head and cried out. To her surprise, it suddenly stopped; she opened her eyes to find Sesshoumaru’s arms wrapped tightly around her. She sighed and leaned into his embrace, the horrible noise in her ears gone. Sesshoumaru’s body stiffened and she looked up. He appeared to be scanning the area. He gave her an extra tight squeeze and let go, whispering something inaudible.
“Damn!” cried a dark figure of the room as her quarry moved, avoiding the shot of Novocain in her hand.
“Wha-Who are you?” said Suki, unnerved to find someone leaning over her bed in the middle of the night. She felt something brush her neck and pulled away swiftly, sliding out of bed and knocking the person’s legs out from underneath her, taking the glass metal object from her hand. She flipped on the lights and pulled the trigger, sending a dose of the drug into Li’s arm.
“Who are you and what the hell do you want?” she growled, annoyed at being awoken from such a nice dream. The woman before her didn’t say anything.
“Who are you?!” shouted Suki, now royally pissed.
“Li.”
“Li what?”
“Don’t have a last name,” said the stranger. Suki took in her appearance, gauging her skill level and finding a little bulge near her thighs. She unlatched the harnesses there and threw both of them to the corner of the room.
“What do you want with me?” she asked, looking at the little gun in her hand, examining the syringe that had been loaded into it. “A sedative..?” Suki went over to her dresser and riffled through the top drawer, pulling out her cell. She pushed the first speed dial and a very sleepy Himeko answered.
“Whazzapening?” she asked drowsily.
“HIMEKO-ONEECHAN!” shouted Suki into the phone, effectively waking the girl up, or so it appeared as a loud stream of curses could be heard coming down the hall. Suki snapped her phone shut as the door slammed open.
“IT’S EFFING THREE A.M! THIS HAD BETTER BE GOOD!” growled a disheveled Himeko, her hair sticking out at odd angles. Suki was frowning.
“Someone just tried to shoot me with Novocain,” said Suki, pouting, pointing at the red-head on the floor.
“Oookaaay? Why is she just sitting there?” asked Himeko, poking Li’s arm.
“Cuz I shot her with it. ^__^~” Suki said as if it were the obvious thing.
“Oh… This is annoying. You know, I bet this was some prank of that Inuyasha guy,” said Himeko.
“Afraid not. I apologize, but now both of you are in serious trouble. Miss Himeko, I bid you adieu,” said Li confidently. She tried to contact Bankotsu, pressing a small button on the side of her belt, activating an emergency transmitter.
“WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU, YOU EFFING PERVERT!!” shouted Aki, having been woken up by someone landing on her. She backed up against her headboard and kicked the random intruder to her bedroom.
“Owww… Stop that!” whined a rather childish voice before the person (whoever or it was) dropped to the floor. Another muffled grunt was heard as it hit its head on one of the bed posts. Aki turned on the lights and grabbed her handgun and pointed it at the intruders head. He looked up, panicking. “Hey! Don’t shoot!” said the dark-haired man, his deep amethyst eyes gazing up at Aki pleadingly. Aki blushed and lowered the gun slightly, and before Aki could even let out a breath, the man was crouched over her, pinning her wrists at her sides.
“Shush and don’t move. Where is Nakashima Suki?” he asked, smirking.
“What’s your name?” asked Aki, looking up at him innocently.
“WHERE IS NAKASHIMA’S ROOM?!”
“What’s your name???” asked Aki again, smiling.
“Bankotsu-Where is Nakashima?” he said hastily.
“How’d you end up in MY room? Suki’s is on the other side of the house,” said Aki. Bankotsu responded with a long stream of curses.
“Dammit I must have misread the map!!!” he growled, pulling out a piece of blue paper.
“Uhh… you’re holding that upside down,” said Aki.
“WAAAAAHHH!!” cried Bankotsu. “Read it for me!” begged the boy.
“OH I KNOW WHO YOU ARE YOU’RE JAKOTSU-OTOUTO’S BEST FRIEND!” said Aki happily.
“Stay on topic! Help me read this!”
“Idiot, why would I tell you how to find my sister? What are you going to do? I mean you DID fall through my ceiling and land on me,” said Aki, pointing at the hole in the ceiling. “which, by the way, you WILL be repairing. We just bought this house.” Bankotsu growled and squeezed Aki’s wrists a bit too tight.
“OWWW YOU IDJIT LEGGO!” she screamed directly into Bankotsu’s ear. Tears sprung to his pretty purple eyes and he fell over backwards, twitching and clutching his ears. Aki looked at what she had done and pouted. “Awwww… I’m sorry!” she leaned over and kissed Bankotsu’s head.
Inuyasha stood outside the Inoue house, keeping watch, as he was instructed to do by Sesshoumaru.
“Damn that bastard,” he growled, pissed as hell. “Stupid asshole makes me sit out here, stuck in this muggy fucking place…” He sniffed the air lightly, feeling something approach. This aura was inhuman, but human at the same time. He circled the house, looking for the source of this power and then cursed, realizing that it had already entered the house. He dove down into a tree and hopped from a branch onto a balcony. He peered inside and saw the red-headed-one asleep in her bed. Quietly he opened the shoji separating her room from the balcony and went in, stepping quietly across the tatami to the door, looking out, searching for the scent again. He frowned, not able to distinguish the different scents of the house from each other. For a matter of fact… the room itself smelt inhuman. He looked towards the sleeping girl and drew closer, curious as to why he couldn’t tell what she was.
“Are you a demon, girl?” he whispered, looking down at her tranquil face, “perhaps you’re an angel in a human’s skin…” he caressed her cheek lightly with his fingertips and leaned in close, acting instinctively. He breathed in her sweet scent and sighed heavily. “Honey and pine…” he took another breath and groaned. “Power… You’re not human at all,” he growled and put his hand over her mouth, lowering his lips to her neck, licking and sucking lightly, kissing, bringing the blood close to her skin before extending his fangs, embedding them into her flesh. Momi’s eyes snapped open and a white aura escaped her, reaching out around Inuyasha, attempting to burn him. Momi whimpered and fought as Inuyasha bit down harder, lapping up her blood. He pulled away and Momi calmed, her power mixing with his. She sat up as Inuyasha pulled away, staring at him accusingly.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, rubbing her neck, feeling at two small punctures. “What are you..?”
“Our kind is known today as vampires, Elf. In order to sustain our demon powers we drink the blood of the few mortals and other creatures that bear either spiritual power or elemental,” he explained, licking blood from his lips.
“Elf? What are you talking about! I’m completely human and YOU’RE a FREAK!” said Momi hysterically, pulling her covers up around her.
“Whatever you are, you do not belong to the human race. Did you feel that swell of power when I drank from you? That is the elemental power of water,” he growled, his golden eyes glinting in the dark.
“Whatever… What the hell are you doing here, anyway?!” she hissed angrily, glaring at Inuyasha.
“Someone possibly dangerous is in the house,” he said, looking out the door. He turned to find Momi glaring up at him, her eyes flashing dangerously. He made a small ‘yip’ like a wounded puppy and jumped out of the way of a quick blow to the head. Momi chased him around her room before he jumped out onto the balcony and into the night. She slammed the shoji door and bolted it, mumbling about stupid men. She stood straight, her thoughts clearing. She thought about what Inuyasha said and about her very…odd childhood. She thought about Inuyasha’s lips and the feeling she got when he…
“Wait! Nonononononono! Nooooo!!! I’m soo not fantasizing about that stupid…stupid… WHATEVER HE SAID HE WAS!” shouted Momi, stomping her foot in a very Suki-like way. She marched downstairs and to Aki’s room, hearing her scream. She thought about what Inuyasha said and sighed, deciding to reserve judgment on his fidelity.
“Aki-kun?” she asked through the closed shoji. She heard a small masculine moan and gasped in surprise, her anger and panic levels rising rapidly. She inched the shoji open slowly, blinking a little in the light of Aki’s room. She was doubled over, her arms held by a man’s hands.
“GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF HER!” screamed Momi, her power flaring again, unbeknownst to herself. She grabbed one of Aki’s shinai and rushed at the male figure, cracking the bamboo sword hard over his back. He cried out in pain as Aki stared in disbelief. Momi pulled the boy out of Aki’s bed by his long black braid and continued beating him, yelling things like “pervert” and “hentai no baka” and other incomprehensible screams. Aki finally came out of her daze and shielded Bankotsu, keeping Momi’s sword from his body
“Meanie! He’s my man!!! It’s Bankotsu! Remember? Jakotsu’s friend?!” she shouted, shaking Momi by the shoulders.
“Wait,” said Momi confusedly, still clutching Bankotsu’s braid. “This is Bankotsu, Bankotsu?!” cried Momi in disbelief, looking down at the bloody and bruised body.
“Yes, you stupid bitch!” shouted Bankotsu, promptly receiving punches from both girls. He groaned before passing out, his eyes unfocused. Outside, Inuyasha thanked God for not letting him call the redhead a bitch.
In Suki’s room, Li, hearing Bankotsu’s screams of pain and his stupid comments, fell over, finally succumbing to the Novocain. A moment later, Aki and Momi dragged Bankotsu into the while Suki and Himeko brought Li. Suki went and got her ropes and handcuffs, securing them back to back for whenever they awoke, deciding to find out what was going on before they turned them in to the police.
Li woke to find herself unable to move and extremely drowsy. She felt behind her tentatively and found Bankotsu’s bound wrists. She looked up and found two big brown eyes staring down at her. The brown eyes backed away a bit and li found that they were set in a human face: Suki’s face.
“Good morning!” said Suki cheerfully. Li quirked an eyebrow, wondering what happened to the girl that attacked her with her own weapon the night before. Bankotsu, as tactless as ever, voiced his opinion on Suki’s behavior.
“Oi, what’s the big idea? And what kind of captor says ‘good morning’ to her prisoners?” he asked incredulously.
“The kind that kept Mom-oneechan from cutting off your balls,” answered Suki happily. “Of course, if you dislike your current state…” she trailed off and Bankotsu shook his head violently. Suki giggled and sat down on the sofa between a sleeping Himeko and a glaring Momi. She looked down at Li and pouted.
“Why did you guys try to take me away?” she asked, almost sounding hurt.
“It’s my job. A child like you wouldn’t understand what adults do in order to survive in the corporate world,” said Li mockingly.
“Excuse you, but the attitude is not appreciated. We haven’t done anything against you or whoever your boss is. As a matter of face, we haven’t even been here for a full 24 hours, yet!” cried Momi, pissed off. Suki pouted and kneeled next to Li, unlocking her handcuffs. Himeko woke up as Momi accidentally jabbed her in the ribs as she got up.
“Suki, that’s not a good idea,” she said, taking Aki’s handgun.
“She’s not bad!” whined Suki. Li looked up at the girl in wonder, confused at her behavior.
“What are you doing, Nakashima-san? I’m supposed to kidnap you, and you’re treating me far too well. Are you sane?” asked Li, standing and looking down at her.
“I’m quite sure I’m sane, and you ARE good. You didn’t fight very much once I had caught you…”
“Do you know that I could kill your friends at this moment and take you without effort?” inquired Li, her eyes cold. She released a bit of her aura, making Suki whimper softly as the sheer power engulfed her.
“Haaaii… I know. But you wont because you like us,” she said cheerily, looking up at Li pleadingly. Li’s eyes widened, realizing that she didn’t know what she thought of the odd group of people. Momi, Aki, and Himeko exchanged confused glances and took a seat, deciding to let Suki handle it. She Smiled up at Li and tugged on her long red braid.
“What’cha want for breakfast?” she asked, untying Bankotsu. Li sighed and plopped herself down into a chair, mumbling something about eggs. Himeko and Suki went into the kitchen while Bankotsu made himself comfortable.
“Might as well enjoy what time we’ve got here,” he said, smiling to himself.
“Bankotsu-kun~” chimed Aki, “You’re not allowed to leave the house until you’ve FIXED MY CEILING!” she hissed, glaring at him.
“WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT FIXING A CEILING?!” yelled Himeko from the kitchen, “IF YOU BROKE ANYTHING YOU’RE PAYING FOR IT!” Bankotsu laughed nervously and looked in the phone book for a company that did ceiling and dry-wall repair. Momi sat in the corner of the room, brooding over what Inuyasha said to her the night before. Li sat near her, her eyes scanning the room. She could tell that they had not been there long, but the place already held their scents and the feel of a home. The furniture was well-arranged, the low coffee table in the center of the room held a bonsai tree in a marble dish, and a big-screen TV hung on the wall.
To her it was strange that these three girls could afford such finery and not be greedy. Their personalities were strange to her as well. All of them had fiery attitudes once provoked, but other than that, they were kind and gentle. She had tried to hurt the smallest one and they did no more than question her, and not even a lot. She turned her head as the one called Momi mumbled something to herself.
“Excuse me?” Li said, looking curiously over at the girl. ‘Funny,’ she thought, ‘She doesn’t smell like a human…’
“It's nothing,” said Momi, glaring at the floor. Li took a deep breath and let it out along with a little bit of her aura. She let her feelings of calm surround Momi through her aura, reading her emotions simultaneously.
“Why are you confused, Momigi-sama?” inquired Li gently, walking over to Momi, rubbing her back gently. Momi looked up at her and sighed.
“Do you know someone called Taisho Inuyasha, Li-san?” asked Momi distractedly.
“Yes, I know him better than most, actually…” said Li with a hint of sadness. “We used to be friends a long time ago, but then someone close to him died and he hasn’t been the same since.”
“Men… Is he always so-” started Momi before Li cut her off.
“Yes, he’s always aggressive, rude, and slightly abrasive,” she sighed, laughing.
“Was his friend pretty..?” asked Momi, unsure. “Did she look like me?”
“Hahahaha… She had nothing on you. Not exotic in any way shape or form: her smile was shallow, her thoughts were scattered and unfocused… A complete idiot, by my book,” finished Li, patting Momi on the back. Momi looked up at her gratefully then winced as Suki’s shrill scream was heard from the kitchen. Aki and Li rushed into the kitchen, treading over Suki on the way, only to see…
“JAKOTSU-IMOUTO!” cried Aki, stepping over a fallen Suki on her way to hug her little brother.
“Oneechan!” laughed Jakotsu, picking her up as she ran to him and twirling her around.
“What are you doing here? I thought you were in Finland…” said Aki, slightly confused at her brother’s presence but happy, none-the-less.
“Ano… Well, Bankotsu is here, isn’t he? I got worried when he didn’t come back…”
“Come back..? Jakotsu, I DO hope you told me everything you were supposed to in your letters…” Jakotsu shifted nervously and sighed, his face becoming more serious.
“Oneechan, you and your friends need to go home,” he said softly, hugging her tightly.
“Iie. Not going to happen. What’s going on?” she asked, anger tinting her voice. “Bankotsu-baby randomly crashed through my roof, Li-san tried to abduct Suki, and to top it all off, Suki is seeing tails and animal ears and such on people!” she cried hysterically.
“There, there, oneechan,” cooed Jakotsu, patting her back in a motherly way. “I’ll explain after breakfast. I think those eggs are done, now, Suki-chan,” he said, smiling down at the fallen and pouting girl.
“Okaay… Someone please tell me how he came out of the wall!!!” she screamed, backing up and into Li, who wrapped her arms around the hysteric girl to keep her from bowling her over. She released some of her aura to calm her, petting her hair gently. Suki took a deep breath and sighed, going back to the stove to mix the eggs in with the fried rice. Himeko came out of a secluded corner of the kitchen and started putting bowls on the dinner table. Once everyone was settled and had eaten almost half their food, Li decided to speak.
“We are from an organization that has rivaled the Taisho corporation for decades,” she said, putting down her chopsticks and sipping her tea placidly.
“So… You were coming to get me why..?” asked Suki, leaning her head on Momi’s shoulder.
“Because our boss requested it. We do not question what he says, we merely follow. I’ll probably receive some sort of punishment for not returning after failing…” she said with a bit of a smirk. Bankotsu, Himeko, Momi, and Aki exchanged looks and Jakotsu giggled, rubbing Suki’s head, as she was the only one that looked confused.
“And who is this boss of yours?” asked Himeko, as businesslike as usual.
“I can’t say.”
“Why do I keep seeing things? And why does Momi-oneechan act sort of funny sometimes and her ears look pointy?” asked Suki, clearly annoyed with the whole affair.
“I am not sure, but they look different because they are not human. Surely you’ve noticed that I’m not exactly the same as everyone here, as well?” she inquired, her eyes studying Suki.
“You can make people feel better!” chirped Suki, “And you’re really light!”
“Haha… Yes, that’s part of it. The reason for that is that I am half phoenix youkai,” she said, smiling, her eyes flashing deep emerald a she did so.
“Oh… ok,” said Suki, her head tilting to the side slightly as she pondered this concept. Himeko looked disbelieving and Aki didn’t seem surprised. Momi looked annoyed.
“So… What Inuyasha said was true?” she asked hesitantly.
“Hai,” said Jakotsu, smiling at her gently. “If he said what I thought he said. You’re a water nymph, or elf, are you not? You two would be cute together… but unfortunately, he’s already mine. I don’t care if he’s marked you, already,” he hissed, gesturing at Momi’s throat. Her hand flew to the two little puncture marks and Suki pouted.
“Wait…” said Suki, finally realizing what Jakotsu had said, “What do you mean, ‘marked’?”
“Well… All demons and half demons, in order to sustain their powers, have to drink blood. They are the ones that created the vampire legends in Japan, while there are little to none of such stories in the surrounding Asian countries. Demons, in the feudal era and before the great hunt, fed off of other demons and power brought by the existence of the Shikon no Tama. Now, demons drink the blood of those who have at least a little spiritual power. Since so few of these people exist, most of their kind has already died out. Anyone else who cannot find such people feed off of other demons. The mark on Momi-san’s neck isn’t a mark of just feeding… It’s a mark of devotion and wish to mate.” said Bankotsu, proving for the first time that he did have something of a brain.
“Very good, Bankotsu!” said Jakotsu, patting him on the head. Aki laughed and hugged him around the waist. Li cleared her throat and sighed slightly, her long hair hiding her eyes.
“I will now be returning to my master’s side if there are no objections. Jakotsu, Bankotsu, are you staying or..?” she trailed off, looking to her comrades.
“I believe that we will be enjoying the comforts of home-cooking for a while, yes, Li-sama,” said Jakotsu, bowing slightly. Li smiled sadly and stepped away from the table, releasing the strong hold on her aura. A sudden cool wind swept through the room as her power surrounded everyone present and her wings burst forward. The ceiling seemed to open up and she was gone in an instant, as well as her soothing aura. Suki pouted from the end of the table and stabbed her egg with a violence few knew she possessed.
Shiinha’s growl of anger made all of the extensive grounds of the estate tremble as Li touched down on his balcony.
“WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN? WHERE IS THE BITCH?!” he looked like he would burst into flame if Li so much as breathed on the sparks of his ever-growing anger.
“She stabbed me with the Novocain charge and captured Bankotsu and Jakotsu. They wont be returning, Shu-sama,” she said, kneeling.
“HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU SCREW THIS UP, STUPID SLUT?!” he screamed, his voice trembling dangerously.
“Demons and demonesses are not gods, Master,” she said sarcastically. The air cracked with electricity as his power flared. He turned toward the wall and released it in a short burst, half of the balcony disintegrating beneath their feet. Li spread her wings once more while Shiinha floated.
“Get over here, Li. You will be punished for defying me,” said Shiinha, his eyes glinting, a sadistic laugh escaping his severe lips. Li smiled to herself and followed, smiling slightly to herself. “You’ve defied me for the last time, Li,” hissed Shiinha, pointing toward the door. Li landed gracefully and her wings disappeared as she reined in her jaki. She opened the door for her Master and bowed slightly as he passed through. She followed quietly, her teeth clenched to keep them from chattering; the aura Shiinha was emitting was overwhelming.
Shiinha led Li down one corridor, then another, the path unavigable for one who wasn’t accustomed to the estate. Li hesitated for a moment when her master stopped at a door of solid cherry, its panel polished ‘till they shone, the bras handle also shining in the gloom of the hall.
“Shu-sama?” she questioned as she opened her door. Shiinha pushed Li into the room and closed the door behind him. He looked around and sighed; it had been a long time since he had last visited her chambers…
“Stand in the center of the room, Li,” instructed Shiinha, sneering at her, circling her as if he were the hawk and she, the prey. Li did as she was told, her knees shaking as she stepped to the center of her room. She looked at the ground submissively, avoiding Shiinha’s gaze. “Take off your clothes.” Li winced at the command, but did as she was told to. She stripped till she was clad only in her bra and panties, her red, silk cheongsam and leggings discarded. Her creamy complexion seemed to give off a warm glow in the late morning light streaming in from the floor-t-ceiling windows of the room.
“I did not say strip till your point of minimal comfort, I said take off your clothing. I assume that those remaining garments, however immodest…” he said, circling behind her and pulling at the strop of Li’s thong, “are still classified as clothing. Li whimpered, and with trembling fingers, did as she was instructed. The lacy bits of clothing slipped off her form and fell to the floor, revealing her full, round breasts and her perfectly shaped ass. She bit down on her lip as Shiinha’s fingers traced up the outside of her thigh, the little caress sending shivers throughout her body. “I haven’t had you in quite some time,” he said, a little bit of a chuckle lining his words.
“Shiinha-san,” whimpered Li, her voice trembling and betraying her fear.
“Quiet, slut,” hissed Shiinha, rearing back. He slapped her hard across the face, the force of the blow sending her to the floor. She lay at his feet rubbing her red cheek, tears threatening to spill from her sparkling emerald eyes. “Do you love me, Li?” asked Shiinha, kneeling and cupping Li’s chin in his hand. Despite herself, Li nodded slightly, a little bit of a blush crossing her cheeks. Shiinha’s face contorted to a look of disgust as he pulled Li up by her hair. “Hanyou, you DARE to say you love me?! Yet you cannot complete the simple task of bringing a CHILD here?! You stayed at the girl’s house by your own will, only returning when Jakotsu and Bankotsu abandoned our cause! You are a traitor, yet you say you love me!?” Shiinha kneed Li in the gut, sending her flying to the floor once more. Li tried to rise to her feet and failed, whimpering. “Get up, bitch,” growled Shiinha, looming over her. Li tried again, only making it to her knees. Shiinha picked her up by her hair and flung her on the bed. Li trembled and sat up slowly, looking up at her furious lover pleadingly.
“Shiinha… please don’t be angry with me because of this… Why do we need her anyway?” she whispered, her lip bleeding.
“Lin-we, beautiful Li,” smiled Shiinha, crawling towards her, his fingers caressing her bruised cheek. “Please understand that we do need the girl’s blood in order to become whole again… as well as the blood of any other miko you can find.”
“ But… Shiinha she’s a human girl! How could we do something like that? Kill her for a life that isn’t real and-” Shiinha brought his hand down on Li’s cheek, the stinging blow sending her to collapse once more, tears now making glistening trails on her soft skin.
“Slut, from this point on you will not speak until spoken to. You will not flinch at any of my commands. You will obey any and all these commands. You will not look me in the eye,” he hissed forcefully, his long fingers wrapping around Li’s wrists and tying them to the bedposts on either side of the head board with ropes conjured from nowhere. Li nodded and gasped as she felt Shiinha’s lips on her skin. They moved over her bruising cheek gently, barely touching, the soft caress soothing her. A small whimper of gratitude emitted from Li’s lips before being extinguished with pain. Shiinha’s fangs buried themselves deep in Li’s shoulder so her blood, heavy with the taint of fear, slid down his throat, burning it, leaving a wonderful taste of power behind. He continued drinking from her before closing the small wound with a couple quick laps of his tongue. He felt Li shiver beneath him and smiled to himself, his kisses and licking bringing him between her breasts. She shivered and moaned as he sucked and nipped at the valley between her breasts before letting his lips travel up one of the mounds to take a rosy nipple in his mouth. He suckled as if he were a babe, the little peak hardening beneath his ministrations, moans and mewls of pleasure filling the air, pouring from Li as if they were a song.
Shiinha bit down suddenly, making Li arch in pain and then moan loudly. Shiinha chuckled darkly and turned his attention to her other nipple, swirling his tongue around it, his fangs brushing sensually over her skin. He bit down here as well, this time drawing blood. Li moaned in pleasure, however, as she was too lost to feel the sharp bite of his deadly fangs. Shiinha pulled away abruptly as his phone started to ring. He went to it and snapped it open, his hands trembling with the effort to keep from snapping the phone in half.
“What?!” he barked into it, his eyes still on Li’s panting form.
“Shiinha-san? I believe you are the one that requested that I call you. I don’t appreciate the attitude,” chided a silky feminine voice on the other end of the line.
“State your purpose in disturbing me, wench, before I dissolve our agreement,” hissed Shiinha, obviously pissed. His hands wandered the smooth skin of Li’s hip while the woman spoke into his ear, describing her plans.
“…Sesshoumaru seems to have an interest in the girl you sought to capture. I think I’m going to use her as bait if need be, but either way, Sesshoumaru will die, along with his half-demon brother.”
“Miss Zigeru-”
“Please call me Haruna.” (UAN: lollies… dontcha luv my originality?)
“Fine, Haruna-san, I honestly do not give a fuck about how you kill the monster and his siblings… But know this: those two are not the only demons in that complex! The demon has a son of sorts, whose children, in turn, are half-demons. The mother is dead so there is no need to look for them. Also, there is someone you’ve missed…” Shiinha trailed off as he became distracted with the apex of Li’s thighs, finding that this little place and her inner thighs were glistening with her arousal. He licked his lips and turned his attention back to the phone as Zigeru spoke.
“Sir..?”
“Yes… I apologize for letting my -mind- wander… She is not yet wielding of demonic powers, but she is inhuman. Momigi Kusanagi. She is an elf of considerable power. It would be wise to take her down first, as it will bring the others to you, especially Inuyasha and the Suki girl,” he said hastily with a bit of impatience. “Now, do not call me again. I will instruct you on the appropriate hours to present yourself to me, usually by messenger. Good day.” Shiinha snapped his phone closed and put it on the nightstand. His fingers pried open Li’s milky thighs with little resistance, revealing her swollen and dripping pussy. He smiled at seeing her blush and grinned with a frightening ferocity as he leaned over her, inhaling her musk deeply. His eyes started to bleed crimson as he lowered her lips to her, his tongue darting out and tasting her juices. A sharp intake of breath was heard from Li.
“Do you like that, slut?” he asked, his voice guttural, before dipping into her again, this time forcing his tongue deeper, letting it trace her pussy lips before plunging inside her, curling against the upper wall of her cunt. “You taste divine, but what I thirst for is your blood, Li,” he hissed, a sadistic laugh rising through the air and surrounding Li’s senses. She shuddered and started crying, struggling desperately against her bonds.
“Master Shiinha please… Please don’t do this to me!” she cried as his humanoid fingernails extended into long, razor-sharp claws. He extended the claws of his right hand, creating a type of flogger with the whip-like blades. Li whimpered as her master straddled her face and forced her jaw open with his left hand. He let the claws of his right hand slide over Li’s skin from her ankle to her thigh, leaving trails of blood behind. A strangled cry of pain escaped her before Shiinha forced his throbbing member into her mouth. She gagged and whimpered as he started pumping his engorged dick in and out of her mouth, the force of his thrusts pushing her head roughly against the headboard. She finally gave in and started sucking weekly, her struggles ending totally. Shiinha smiled, his fangs glinting as the girl continued sucking him off, her tongue curling against his cock, her little half-demon fangs grazing his skin gently. He pulled away from her as he felt himself tighten, shooting a load of cum all over her face. She licked some up and he laughed softly before pulling away from her face, working his way down her body and positioning himself between her legs.
“Do you want it, whore?” he asked, his voice a low growl.
“Please…”
“Too fucking bad!” he laughed, pulling away from her, bringing his claws down over her lower stomach. She screamed as trails of blood dripped from her flat abdomen and over her thighs and sides, soaking the sheets and mattress below her. She screamed again as Shiinha adjusted the power of his strikes, bringing them down over her breasts and legs and throat, making the cuts shallow but stinging. The beating continued for hours until she was left in a pool of her own blood and Li’s cries and screams of pain faded as she lost consciousness. In the training hall, Koga shook with anger as his boss tortured his best friend.
“Li… We’ll be free from him soon… I promise, Oneechan.” He clenched his fists and disappeared from the room, his demonic speed bringing him to stand outside of the Taisho Corp offices.
