Sesshomaru’s Castle
Kagome awoke form her nightmare with a start. She knew everything she had dreamed about had really happened, but she also remembered talking with Inu-Taisho. If that part had really happened or not she wasn’t sure, but she would go with it. Reality clicked with her again, if she had been dreaming then that meant she was sleeping which meant she was alive. Her eyes opened slowly to see a huge blue thing in front of her. She rubbed her eyes and opened them again, this time everything was much clearer. The big blue thing was a huge canopy covering the equally huge bed she was laying on. Kagome moved her hands across the silky sheets and puffy comforter that had been covering her. It was a beautiful shade of blue she came to decide, kind of a dark blue but at the same time bright, if that makes any sense. The comforter had some gold swirly designs on it that was very intricate and beautiful. ‘Where the heck am I?’ she thought. ‘Whoever brought me here I owe them big time.’
Kagome tried to sit up in her bed to get a better look around the room, but as soon as her ab muscles flexed she was in a great deal of pain that went all the way into her back. Oh yea, the dream was real. Ok, so she would look from lying down. She looked to her right to see a big set of glass doors that led out to a balcony. The windows had stained glass designs of flowers and vines. ‘Ok, so this was obviously a woman’s room.’ she thought. There were some sheer gold colored curtains halfway pulled across the doors and a heavy set of blue colored curtains on the sides. From what she could see it looked to be about dusk or a little before that. The walls were also blue, but they had the same intricate golden designs that the comforter had. From the floor to about a quarter of the way up the walls were wooden. The ceiling donned a large chandelier.
She tried to sit up again, using just her arms to pull her up but that same shooting pain filled her midsection.
“Lady Kagome! Do not push yourself; your internal wounds are still healing!”
She didn’t even hear the woman walk into the room and it startled her when she spoke to her. The woman jogged to Kagome’s side to help her lay back down. She seemed to be very kind, didn’t even seem to care that Kagome was a ningen. The woman looked like a neko youkai of some kind. She was in a human form, but still showed her demon markings. Black cat ears stuck out the top of her head almost resembling Inuyasha’s. Black and red hair reached down to her butt, it looked silky and smooth and was very straight. She was a very beautiful woman, large green eyes and defined cheek bones and very red lips that Kagome just knew were naturally that color. Her body was curvy but toned. There were red markings on her arms. Then Kagome saw it, a long black tail flicked out from behind her and wiggled to the other side. It was so cool.
The woman began to push on Kagome’s stomach to see where it was painful and how much she could take. She was actually able to take quite a bit of pressure. She lifted up Kagome’s shirt and began to apply a salve of some kind that was really cold and tingled on her skin.
The woman looked at her and smiled. “My name is Yuri, Lady Kagome. I am one of the head servants here and also one of the nurses in the castle. Your wounds are healing amazingly quickly. I suspect that’s due to your miko powers and the powers of the Tenseiga working together. I have heard of the sword bringing people back to life, but I think it is also helping you heal the internal wounds as well.”
Kagome’s jaw dropped. “Did you say Tenseiga? Does that mean? Am I in Sesshomaru’s castle?”
“Yes my Lady. Lord Sesshomaru brought you here two days ago. You were unconscious and have been since then, though you toss about in your sleep. He is the one who brought you back to life.”
‘Well duh.’ Kagome thought to herself. ‘Who else has the power to restore life? I should have known.’ “Um, but Yuri, I thought he hated humans.”
“I don’t question my Lord. When he does something there is always a reason. Lord Sesshomaru may seem to be a cold and uncaring person, and sometimes he really is, but he can be kind in his own way. All I know is he brought you here and placed you under my care as long as you are here.”
Kagome nodded at Yuri. ‘Interesting.’
“If I help you, would you like to try and sit up again?”
“Yes please. My back and butt are rather sore.” Two chuckled at her comment. Yuri cross grabbed one of Kagome’s hands and placed her other hand on her back as she sat up. Kagome winced at the pain, but it wasn’t as bad this time. She scooted back against the headboard and rested for a moment.
“Ok, you seem to be settled a bit, yes?” Kagome nodded her head in agreement. “Good. If you feel you can, try and get up and walk around the room a bit, but don’t push it. The washroom is right through that door over there. I am going to go and get you some supper, I imagine you are starving.”
Kagome was starving, and my god how she had to pee. “Thank you Yuri. You’ve been really kind, I know a lot of demons and humans don’t get along.”
“I think we should all try to get along you know? No point in hating or being cruel to each other just because we are different.” Yuri said as she gathered her things. “How about after supper we go to the hot spring and you can bathe?”
“Oh thank goodness! I was going to ask you about that, I feel so dirty.” She was smiling big now. Hopefully if Sesshomaru needed to see her he would do so after that. Yea right, what would he want to see her for? He was probably just going to kick her out when she was better.
“Yea, I figured you would like that. Besides, even if you didn’t I would take you there you stink pretty badly.” They both cracked up on that one for a few minutes.
“Thanks a lot Yuri!”
“I only say it out of caring. I’m sure your son will be anxious to see you too once he knows your awake. We’ve kept him busy helping around the castle and playing with Rin so you could recover. I swear it’s almost every hour it seems like he asks about you. He loves you very much.”
Kagome’s breath caught when she heard Yuri mention Shippo. “He’s here? Oh thank goodness. He’s ok right? He didn’t get hurt or anything?”
“Lady Kagome, please take a breath. I swear if I was human I would not have understood a word you said.” Yuri looked at her while she calmed down. “Now your son is fine. Lord Sesshomaru brought him here with you. I believe he saw what happened to you though I don’t know the story. He has been very quiet about it. If you like I’ll have him bring up your dinner.”
Kagome breathed a sigh of relief. “Yes Yuri that would be great.”
“Alright, I will see you in a bit; just remember to take it easy.” Yuri bowed and left the room.
Now that Kagome was able to sit instead of lay down she was able to get a better view around her room. She looked back to the balcony doors. The stained flowers looked beautiful in the evening sunlight. There were some flowering trees on either side of the door and taking a deep breath in she could smell the sweet fragrance coming from them. There was a large dresser and another one that would hang many items of clothing. There was also a large vanity with a huge mirror by the washroom door. All of them were made from fine polished dark oak.
She swung her legs to the side slowly to avoid too much pain. Gripping the side of the bed Kagome pushed herself up to a standing position. The movement made her dizzy and she had to grab onto the bed post. ‘Breathe Kagome, breathe.’ She took some deep breaths and stood up straight. The room finally stopped spinning and she slowly made her way to the bathroom door. As the turned the knob and opened the door she could hardly believe her eyes. ‘This is a washroom!’ The countertop at the far end of the room was a beautiful black marble sitting on top of golden legs. The washbowl was golden as well as the pitcher was golden. Granted it was a smaller room as there were no real toilets and showers, but it was extravagant all the same. Pictures with golden frames adorned the black walls. Once again the same intricate golden designs went around the walls but this time it was only a border instead of everywhere.
As she was doing her business she wondered to herself, ‘Why would he put me in such a beautiful place? I am not deserving of such things, and I am just a human.’
Kagome walked back out of the bathroom and sat at the vanity. To her this was one of the most awesome things in the room. There were different kinds of combs and brushes lined up, as well as combs place in her hair. Bottles of lightly fragranced perfume and powders were on the opposite side of the combs. There was a makeup and jewelry box in the center that had a crescent moon carved into the top with flowering designs around it. Kagome would not look in it though, since it was not hers to open. She then got up and opened the largest of the dressers to find a line of fine kimonos made from the best silk. There were sandals below them and drawers to the left. Kagome opened the top drawer to find obis folded. The second drawer had more things to put in her hair; she suspected a different one for each kimono. ‘Ok,’ she thought, deciding not to go through anymore drawers, ‘this room had to belong to someone of great importance. Why? I’ll have to remember to ask Yuri about it later.’ Kagome sat back on the bed and drifted off into her thoughts of a demon prince she thought she knew.

Yuri walked out of Kagome’s room and turned left to head to the kitchens. Shippo and another servant were heading towards her. “Yuri!” Shippo jogged to her. “We have been looking for you. How’s my mama?”
Yuri handed the medicine bowl to the other servant. “Actually Shippo, she is awake.” Shippo started to get excited until Yuri said the ‘b’ word. “But, she needs time to get accustomed to her surroundings and take care of some things. So, you will be coming with me to get her some supper and by the time we bring it to her she should be ready, ok?”
The little fox demon nodded his head. He was disappointed he couldn’t see her right now, but he knew he would be doing something great if he brought her dinner. He looked up and smiled at Yuri before turning and taking off at full speed down the hall and stairs towards the kitchens. Yuri laughed and shook her head at the boy. “He has way too much energy.” she said to the other servant who nodded her head in agreement. “Do you know where the master is?”
“I believe he is in the study Miss Yuri. Would you like me to take care of these things for you?”
“Yes please, I need to inform him Lady Kagome is awake.” the two women turned and walked opposite ways down the hallway.

Sesshomaru sat in his big leather chair staring out the balcony window. Unlike Kagome’s room this one was just regular windows with no stained glass. He had been watching Shippo and Rin play although he wasn’t really “watching”. The demon lord had been lost in thought for about an hour now when he saw a servant come and get the children to get ready for supper. He had been thinking of Kagome. What would he do with her? He had saved her life, literally gave it back to her, so by law she belonged to him. Did he want to keep her? Why had he really helped her like he did? He didn’t have to bring her back here; she could have just recovered on her own. Sesshomaru was frustrated. He was brought back to reality by a knock at the door. “What is it?”
“My Lord, Lady Kagome is awake. I have tended to her and the kit will be bringing her supper. It is still hard for her to move though most of her wounds have healed. I told her I would take her to the hot spring after she ate. I was wondering, my Lord, if she might be able to use the one on this level.”
Sesshomaru turned to look at the woman that was bowing on the ground before him. She knew she was on this ice asking for someone to be able to use his private spring. “Do you know what you are asking of me?”
“Yes my Lord, but I am only thinking of Lady Kagome. You placed her under my care and I think it may be too much for her right after she wakes up to have to travel up and downstairs. She should be ok to move around tomorrow, her wounds have healed amazingly quickly so far.”
Sesshomaru thought about this. ‘Damn it! I am actually going to let her use it. Just his once though. I got to get my shit together’
“She may use the spring; this will be the only time. Yuri, do not ask me of anything like this again.” Sesshomaru stared hard at the neko youkai.
“Yes Lord Sesshomaru. Thank you.” She stood up from the floor but kept her bowing position as she backed out of the room and shut the door.
Sesshomaru pounded his fist on the desk. He felt the need to kill something. He opened the balcony doors and flew out to the forest to play cat and mouse with a very unfortunate creature.
