A/N: This story is coming out a lot better than I had planned. I’d like to thank all of my reviewers. So keep reviewing please. Oh and I know that Inuyasha was a bit too OOC but he cares for Kagome :P.

And it gets really tiresome to write the disclaimer on every chapter. Obviously you all know that I don’t own Inuyasha and his friends, your not stupid. Well I guess that’s my disclaimer, so enjoy!

Broken Shadows and Hidden Secrets

Chapter 7 - The Big Report

The white raven took a left after it was above Konhami High. It weaved its way over the city trying not to be spotted. Finally it found its destination; a small apartment complex, about ten minutes away from Konhami High that was deserted, except for a three room apartment that stood on the top floor of the building. The raven perched itself on the edge of the window, and pecked on the glass.

As the window opened the raven stepped inside looking around.

“Your late.” A feminine voice came from the shadows of the small room.

“I’m sorry-”

“Did you find out about what I asked?”

“Hold on...” The white raven hopped onto the floor by the window. A light flashed in front of it and it transformed. The girl stepped out of the shadows. “What is your human name now? Uh... Katara?”

“No. That was the last.”

“So what do you go by?”

“Why do you want to know? Your not reporting to other demons now are you?”

“No. Just if I see you in public with those two I don’t want to blow your cover.”

“It’s Tahani. And Xia goes by Nahana.” Tahani smirked at him. The man that now stood before her was as tall as Darrin, with long dark blue-black hair that was as long as Sesshomaru’s. He was very muscular and still had his white raven wings which made him look a bit like a stray angel. His eyes were a mid-green that always had a little hint of amusement in them, and he seemed to always be able to tell about what people were thinking, even without physic abilities. “Avion, did you get the information or not? Stop dancing around the subject.”

“Oh I’m not trying to. The miko,”

“Kagome.”

“Yes Kagome, is staying for a few weeks.”

“Did she say why?”

“Yes. She said that she was invited to go to the mall tomorrow with her new friends, I suppose that’s you, Xia, and the humans, and that the school year is starting soon.”

“That’s good. That means that the plan will still work.”

“Do you plan on letting me in on this plan any time soon Karra?”

“Nope, sorry.” She answered flippantly.

“Then why am I even helping?”

“Because if you don’t then you will end up like Anin and Derek.” She gave him an intimidating glare. It seemed to work when she saw him gulp down his fear.

“You mean your brother Derek, and The Anin?” His voice cracked under the pressure.

“Derek is not my brother, and Anin did not deserve the title. They’re both little-” She took a deep breath. She was beginning to become a full demon, and she could not afford loosing her help, or the damage that she would do.

“Derek is at least your half brother. He-”

“He didn’t deserve the family name! Killing humans for pleasure! He was bringing the family name disgrace! He has been trying to bring me down for so long! He has killed most of the people that I allow in this little circle!”

“But what did Anin-?”

“Oh, Don’t get me started on Anin! The Great Anin! What a bunch of bull shit! He betrayed me,” She was breathing deeply trying to escape the rising anger, along with the demon blood. She was now completely transformed and had backed Avion up into the corner of the room. “He turned on me! He...He...Agh!” She sat crisscrossed on the floor trying to regain her composure. Her mind was flooded with angering thoughts and clouded with hatred. ‘Why is it so damn hard to keep my emotions under control lately?! This is going to get me killed one day. ’

‘She may be angry, but she’s still hot in my mind. Those ears are cute too, and those claws seem to give her a sense of power. Too bad for me that she still not over that hothead Sesshomaru. ’
He thought still in fear that she would tear him apart.

“Karra-”

“Just shut up for the moment will you!?” Her voice was deep and clouded with her anger. She would surly kill this guy if he didn’t let her calm down. “Do you have any more information?” She had to change the subject or her mood would not lift.

“I don’t know if it is useful but, the hanyou wants to stay with her.”

“What happened?”

“I don’t know. He said that he couldn’t go back without her after she offered for him to go alone.”

“This is useful information. I think that you should meet Kagome in person.”

“What?”

“Well you have a human form right?”

“Yes I do...and my human name is Kyle.”

“Is that so? Well, I invite you to meet us at the mall tomorrow. You can bump into Kagome. Just make sure that you mask your powers and demonic scent.”

“Why is that?”

“Avion, are you that stupid? She’s a miko, and he is a Inu-youkai. Well, Inu-hanyou anyways.”

“Oh, yeah.”

She moved to sit crisscross on her bed and started to reverse back to her human form. At least now that she got her mind set on her future plans instead of past occurrences she could.

‘The only reason that I killed Anin is because he betrayed me. It still hurts even now. He planed to get close to my group, to me most of all, and break down all of the walls that protect my friends. Having my human charges, who now have limited powers, having their lives threatened by a close friend would hurt. Especially if the only way to protect them is to kill that friend. Why is my life so damn difficult?! At least no one can hurt Sesshomaru. They don’t even know that he exists or that he means anything to me. That, and if he’s in another time then they can’t get to them without Tempus, who is lawfully on the good side. He knows that if his life is threatened and he does die, that he is the one person that Niga will always bring back. He also knows that if he crosses me then he’s dead anyway. ’ She let out a small empty laugh at her last thought. ‘Or they could use that well in the Higurashi shrine. If it lets them that is. The well can tell a beings motives for using the time passage. If the intentions are unpure, tainted, or unimportant, then it won’t let them through. They’ll just plop to the bottom and hopefully break a bone or two, or maybe knock some sense into them, if it were possible. ’ Another empty laugh escaped her grip.

Once Avion saw that she was back to normal, he was able to leave with just a “So I guess that I’ll see you tomorrow.” knowing that she now wasn’t going to maim or strangle anyone, including him, or create any chaos in her destructive demonic nature.

“I’ll pick you out of the crowd. Okay?”

“What do you mean?”

“Oh, whatever! I’ll just connect you when you are wanted.”

“Alright, alright.” He transformed into his animal-spirit form of the white raven and flew out the window, leaving Karra to the dark solitude of the room. The shaded window closed behind him in a loud slam, that almost snipped at his tail, and had Karra holding her ears. “What the heck?” No answer came from the other side as he flew away, to get ready for the next days encounter with the young, attractive miko.

Karra was left in the relatively bare room. Besides her bed, a phone, a dresser, and a closet, there was only her mystic collections of bewitched items, mystic jewels, a spell book, and a strange mirror scattered about the room. The walls only held, of course the window, and a hook with a strange hat that she had found a while back. She believed it to be young Inuyasha’s that he had gotten from Kagome and lost in the city, near her old school.

Karra got up and walked over to the small mirror and grabbed it. She walked back over to the bed and placed the mirror on her lap sitting crisscross again. Looking into the mirror she saw the reflection of her true form, and the darkness that surrounded her heart and mind. She wasn’t proud of the darkness itself but at the sign that meant that she was getting stronger each day.

“You are a mirror of many purposes to which human and demon alike can not control. You can show ones true form without hesitation through the thickest cloaking spells, you can show ones desires to the top limit, you can find ones weakness faster then a blink of an eye, you can show the past and the future, and most of all you can see into any dimension. Now, can you help me?”

“You know, flattery won’t get you too far with me.” A male voice came from the mirror. Suddenly a figure appeared in the mirror. “Then again you are the one who trapped me in here.”

“Well can you help me or not?” She asked growing impatient and annoyed.

“With what?... What do you need?”

“I need to see how he is doing.” She replied using the same rude tone as he did to emphasize the word need.

“Who is he?” He smirked.

“You know very well who I’m talking about Sage!” She hated it when he acted all innocent like he didn’t know.

“No, I don’t, Lady Karra. You could be talking about many of the people that you are acquainted with. You could even mean Aismadais for that fact.” He remarked cockily.

“Damn it Sage! I swear that if you say that name in front of me again, I will make sure that this mirror is shattered and your soul will suffer at my hand!” Her demonic attributes were now dominant and she was ready to take up that threat in a heartbeat.

“Okay! Fine!” The figure faded away as a scene had come up of a small girl running from a ugly toad demon.

~*~

“Ha ha! Jaken, you have to start running more! You’ll never catch me like that!”

“You stupid girl!” The toad wheezed out trying to catch his breath. He stopped running and used a tall staff to keep himself steady. On the top of the staff were two heads, one of a women and another that was facing away from Karra’s view.

“I bet its the staff that slows you down!”

“Rin,” A soft, unemotional voice came from behind her.

“Yes, Lord Sesshomaru?”

“Don’t blame the staff for slowing him down. He’s a toad demon, the staff has nothing to do with it.” Rin giggled at the insult that was directed at Jaken. Jaken gasped up at the dog-demon in surprise. ‘It is not in Lord Sesshomaru to openly insult me in front of the human. ’ The surprise and shock turned into pure confusion. “Jaken, Rin, we are leaving. Go and get Ah-Un.”

“Yes, Lord Sesshomaru.” They both replied again. Jaken rushed off to get Ah-Un and the stuff, and left Rin with Sesshomaru.

“Lord Sesshomaru?” Rin started. Sesshomaru gave no answer. “Where are we going now?” She asked a little too chipper in his tastes.

Sesshomaru stayed quiet for a bit until she asked again. “To find camp Rin.” Was all he said to her. He started to walk into the forest as soon as Jaken had returned with the things. Sesshomaru lifted Rin onto Ah-Un, then brushed by Jaken to start on their daily trek...

~*~

“They look okay to me. All except that dog-demon. Is he always like that?”

“Yes, Sage, he is.”

“He is a lot like you, you know that?”

“Yes, I know that.” She answered not really listening to him. Her mind was still on her Sesshomaru. “So he travels with a toad demon and a human girl now, does he? But why does he keep the young human with him, alive?” She was now thinking out loud. “I can see that the toad is a servant to him, but the human is of no use to him alive. Why is he traveling anyway? He has that huge castle, that he now rules over, from his father, and a never ending food supply. What is he looking for?”

“So many unanswered questions, so much wasted time. Maybe if you checked more often you would know.”

“Don’t push your luck, Sage. You are already dangling by a flimsy hook.”

“Ha ha, your funny.”

“Even flimsier, Sage.”

“Fine!” He said in defeat. “Oh, and when you listed my powers you missed some. A lot actually...”

“Sage, I know all of your powers, don’t push it.” The figure, once again, faded from the image. Now the only thing that reflected in the mirror was her human form that was now in control again. She slipped the mirror under the bed and laid against the pillow. “I’m not going to need, or get any sleep for a few days.” She got up off the bed and walked over to the door. She unlocked it and went into the living area. On the other end of the apartment there were two doors. One that belonged to Xia, and one that was a spare room-guest room. Xia’s room door was cracked slightly so Karra went over to it. She opened it all the way to talk to Xia.

“Xia?”

“Yes, Karra?” Xia was still in her human form, rummaging through her closet for something to wear.

“You still prefer that way?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“But it consumes so much time.”

“It may, but I got nothing better to do. Except maybe listen to another one of your anger-throw-outs.”

“What, you don’t call it a temper tantrum anymore?”

“No, because you have a reason to be angry now.”

“Ah...If you need anything, I’ll just be out in the living room, okay.”

“That’s fine. Is there anything that I can help with Karra?”

“No. I’m just going to do a bit of research on a few things. You should really get some rest now. I don’t want you to be tired during our outing tomorrow.”

“You mean the mall ?”

“We might take a few detours, or meet a friend or two.”

“What are you planning?”

“You will find out soon Xia,” Karra smirked. “Now you really should get some well earned rest before the night’s break.” She gave Xia a full smile and left the room, closing the door behind her. “Oh, and let me know if you get hungry any time soon. I’ll be up on the computer for the rest of the night.”

“You know, you really need to get a life.” Xia said through the door.

“Oh, I do.” She whispered.

She went into the small kitchen, and over to the fridge. She picked out some ice tea and brought it out to the small laptop with her. She sat down and started typing, reading what came up on the screen.

The information that came up read:

Name: Higurashi, Kagome
Age:18
School: Konhami High...
Lives:...

And other information about her. A picture was in the top left-hand corner of the screen. She pulled up another website that was on her computer. Only demons, mystics, and other magical beings could access it. She pulled up another page from that web sight.

This page read:

Name: Inuyasha
Mentality Age: 18-19
Place of Residence: Unknown
Breed: Inu-Hanyou
Powers: Eminence hearing and smell - Others unknown
Family Line: Unknown...

Karra read down the page and found that the others, demons that is, don’t know were he is or how to kill him. It also says that he has not killed any demon in this time, and isn’t reported, or seen in the area very much. He always seems to disappear after a few days with an average school girl named Kagome Higurashi who has obtained Miko powers.

“So they don’t seem to know too much about them. How about I try to keep it that way.” Karra laughed.

‘This means that only Tempus can tell them any valuable information. I can always contact him first, he can be of great use to my plan. Now things seem to be going a lot easier for it. ’

Karra continued typing and reading the information for the rest of the night, as Xia had fallen fast asleep.
