Bullet to the Heart Ch. 10
The Inu youkai stepped out of the military plane, his boots hitting the tarmac in an even beat as he made his way to the helipad. When he arrived everything was ready. The three Hueys and a Chinook were packed up, manned, and ready for take off. As he boarded the lead Huey, he heard the other demons of his team whisper. They had all seen the Admiral rank on his tactical suit, but as far as they knew, the highest ranking youkai ever was Brigadier General Sesshoumaru.
The Admiral picked up the headset that was made for his ears and put it on before he gave his instructions. He told them that he was the overall chief of all Demon Activities and that he was leading this rescue mission. The Admiral also made it clear that anyone who didn't wish to go would gladly be released of their duty and their life. With that said, he motioned to the pilot to take off.
The Chinook rose, sending sand flying everywhere in its rotor wash, and then the three Hueys followed suit. The Hueys soon took a triangular position around the Chinook, one in front and two behind. With the Admiral in the lead Huey, the air convoy made its way across the desert to where Inuyasha was being held captive.

Sango was in her new tactical suit and soon had everyone formed up and ready in the house on the outskirts of the city for the rescue mission. Everyone donned their clothing that would let them blend in with the civilian population. They left the house at random times, and soon had blended in with the crowd walking the streets.

Inuyasha was in a daze. He was trying to keep his strength up in order to counter any type of torture that Naraku would inflict on him. He had been unable to sleep because he was too worried about Sango. He was sure Naraku was lying, that he was just saying things to break Inuyasha's mind. However, it worried him that he still wasn't getting anything through his mark.
"Good morning everyone," A man said as he entered through the door.
"It's time for your treatment, Colonel." The man said and unlocked Inuyasha's chains from the wall.
Inuyasha let himself be taken away until he was outside of the barrier that surrounded the holding cell. Once away from it, he turned around and ripped the man's throat out with his fangs. The man's body dropped to the floor. Inuyasha saw his chance and made a run for what looked like a stair well. He was halfway there when he was hit on the back of his head, startling him. Inuyasha was suddenly ripped backwards by his chains and dragged back to his place in the cell.

Sango and the team blew the heavily armored door open with ease, she could smell the guards that were alerted to their presence with her newly acquired powers. As the first team members moved in, shots were fired followed by the sounds of bodies hitting the floor. Sango motioned for silencers as they moved deeper into the complex. They encountered heavy resistance on the third floor going down.
That floor seemed to be the torture and interrogation floor. There were many guards and lots of rooms with hideous devices in them. Most still had dead bodies strapped to tables. As Sango was making her way with the team a door opened. The man who appeared from behind it turned just in time to see claws coming strait for his jugular. The corpse gurgled a few times before Sango ripped him off her claws, afterwards she realized she almost enjoyed the scent of the person's blood on her hands.
The Major went to another room and saw that it contained a person in it, she could smell the youkai blood from the door. As she and two members entered the room she saw a man and a wolf demon. The demon was chain to the wall as a man was inserting long needles into his body. Sango quickly gunned down the man, momentarily forgetting she had claws, and released the wolf demon letting him fall to the floor. He looked at his rescuer and slightly smiled. He could tell somewhat by her scent and the scent of a very familiar hanyou on her that she was Sango.
"Sango, you are a half demon?" Daimon asked. He rose up to his full height and said, "Don't answer that now, Inuyasha is not far. Give me a gun, Major."
Sango obeyed the order given to her by a superior officer, and soon the entire team was making its way up to the holding cells where Naraku's prisoners were kept. Once they were above ground in a tower like building on the second floor, Daimon turned and motioned for the demolitions men to blow the door. Soon, Magic had the barrier down that had kept the men from getting near the door.
When the team was going through the door they met Naraku and a whole room full of his men. Suddenly, a new door opened from the side of the room exposing even more men, making it impossible for them to make an escape. That was when Sango noticed Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha!" Sango screamed, running over to his chained form against the wall.
Inuyasha had seen the white haired woman. He knew it was Sango by her scent of lavender and mint, but it also contained a new smell, that of a half demon. 'She must have gone through her transformation, while I was in here' Inuyasha thought to himself. He admired the new beauty and strength she had acquired, but felt extremely depressed for not being with her to comfort her in her time of need.
"You will pay for daring this futile attempt to rescue him." Naraku said as he aimed his gun.
Sango never made it to her mate, all she heard was a gun trigger click then the explosion of the primer igniting the powder. She collapsed into a heap on the floor mere inches from her beloved, slowly dying, blood pooling beneath her body. She had taken a bullet, a bullet to the heart.
"NO, SANGO!!!!!" was all Inuyasha was able to yell, his youkai blood boiling.
Suddenly, his body began to pulsate and his eyes glowed red. A jagged streak appeared on both of his cheeks. His fangs elongated as well as his claws. Then he attacked. First disposing of Naraku with a single swipe of his claws, decapitating the despicable villain, his body falling limply to the ground with the head rolling to the side of the room. Then, the transformed demon made his move on the shocked men that were there to guard Naraku.
He had killed many of them as the wall he was near was blown open. The demon Inuyasha had become shielded his eyes from the blinding light. Then he saw a single shadowed figure surrounded by light emerge from the hole. This new figure he could smell was a full Inu youkai, Inuyasha saw eyes glowing a dark midnight blue and a hand held up, throwing something at him. He easily caught the object, and transformed back to his hanyou state. Staring at his hands, Inuyasha saw he was holding Tetsusaiga. When he looked back at the Inu demon, the demons hand had three fingers extended, his fore and middle finger, with his thumb out to the side and a long blue whip was coming forth from the claws. The Demon quickly killed three men all in one swipe, ripping their bodies into bloody unrecognizable pieces.
With that, Full Demons started pouring through the hole attacking anyone who was not chained or wearing a suit they recognized. With the Admiral at the front killing anyone in his way with his claws, they swept through the entire building exterminating all that occupied it. When they made it to the main security room they saw that a countdown and had started and that it was linked to a huge network of explosives. They made a run to evacuate everyone out of the building.
Inuyasha knelt next to Sango's dead body. Grabbing it he hugged her close to him. A single tear fell from his eyes and down his cheek. He had no reason to live anymore, not a single one. He barely noticed the powerful Inu youkai by his side.
"Come on Son, there will be a time for grieving. Right now we must get out of here. The place is rigged to blow." The Demon said.
Inuyasha had heard that voice before but had never seen this person, though his scent was familiar. There was only one man that called him 'son.' Inuyasha looked at a demon that was nearly the spitting image of himself, except this demon's claws, fangs, and strength were much more than his own.
"Come on, Inuyasha. Bring her body with you. We will bury her together." The Admiral coaxed.
"No, I am staying with her and will die as well. I will join her...." was all Inuyasha managed as the Admiral knocked him unconscious with one blow.
"Forgive me." With that the Admiral picked up both bodies and made his way to his Huey.
His men had freed all of the prisoners and they were being loaded up into the Chinook. As the Admiral's Huey took off, Inuyasha regained consciousness and took on a blank look of a body that was only a shell. Inuyasha again looked at the body of his mate and pulled her close to him, hugging her close and burying his face into her shoulder to hide the tears that wanted to pour out of him. Her body muffled the howl that still escaped his lips.

As the rescue team landed at a secure air base, everyone was unloaded and taken to medical care. The only people still on the helicopter were the Admiral and Inuyasha, who was still clinging to the lifeless body. The Admiral motioned to pry the Hanyou's hands from the body but got an enraged snarl as he tried.
"Son, listen you've got to come with me. There isn't much time." The Admiral pleaded. But, still go no reply.
"Colonel Inuyasha. I am the Admiral, I am your commanding officer. Now, get ahold of yourself and follow me, you worthless half breed! Do you understand what I am saying to you?" The Admiral said, his commanding tone strong in his voice, he was the alpha male and he would not be ignored.
That comment had been enough to bring Inuyasha from his daze. To be called a worthless half breed by the one he considered a father figure was a shock to him. Inuyasha did as he was told , his ears plastered to his head, and followed the Admiral into a room with a bed. He gently laid the body of his beloved down. The Admiral looked at Inuyasha and put his arm around him. Inuyasha let all of his emotion go, this was the man that he had told everything to. This was the man that he owed everything to. This was the man that would be there for him whenever he needed him. To Inuyasha, he was the father he never had. Inuyasha let his tears fall onto the Admiral's shoulder as he let out a howl of mourning. He soon heard another howl as the Admiral joined him.
Inuyasha was mourning over Sango's death and he never noticed Sesshoumaru step out of the shadows to stand at the door. When he entered all he got from Inuyasha was a faint growl, when he was finally noticed.
"Take it easy little brother. I do not wish for you to be without your mate. I give you this one thing. In all aspects you are now indebted to me." Sesshoumaru said.
Inuyasha watched as his brother withdrew Tenseiga from its sheath and quickly destroyed the demons of the netherworld surrounding Sango. He saw her take a breath and all was right in the world again. He never thanked Sesshoumaru as his brother walked out the door to disappear yet again into the shadows.
The Admiral turned and left as Inuyasha started to bathe his alive but unconscious mate in kisses. Hearing Inuyasha's proclamations of love and to never leave her side again to her deaf ears made the Admiral think of the family he himself had always wanted, but never allowed himself to have. Though, Inuyasha was a much of a son as he could ever hope to have, he still wanted to raise a pup of his own.

A day later Sango regained consciousness and saw Inuyasha asleep beside her. She looked around and saw that she was in an infirmary. She gave a slight growl and awoke her lover from his sleep. He smiled at her and leaned over and gave her a kiss full of passion.
"I thought I had lost you." Inuyasha said.
"For a while there, you did, my love. I am here now and I am never leaving you again." Sango said with a full knowledge of what had happened to her. Her spirit had refused to leave far from its body and had witnessed everything, though she wasn't about to tell him that.
The Admiral walked in, he was back in his pristine white uniform but had left off his concealment ring. He figured it was time people got to know that he was a demon. He looked at the couple and just laughed when they Sango sniffed him and had a questioning look on her face.
"Inuyasha, I don't believe your mate recognizes me." The Admiral laughed.
"Major, this is the Admiral. It's a shock to us all, no one knew he was a demon. He has been wearing a concealment ring all this time." Inuyasha said, trying to get used to seeing him this way.
"I assure you Sango, it is me. Ha Ha, and to prove it to you." The admiral took a cigar out of his pocket and waved it at her, then put it pack into his pocket. He looked at Sango and marveled at her transformation. She was even more beautiful than she was the first time that he had seen her.
"Well, with Inuyasha's powers of healing you'll be ready for another op in no time." The Admiral said to Sango.
He got a growl from both of them, to which he let out a more authoritative Alpha Male growl. The other two lowered their ears in submission to him.
"That'll teach you to growl to your superior officer. You know, I could have you punished for insubordination for that. Ha ha." The Admiral laughed and sat down beside Inuyasha.
"Well, I have signed your release papers and have given your team a month's leave. I had your house stocked with food and your car is waiting outside. Inuyasha, I will speak with you alone." The Admiral motioned for him to follow out in the hall.
"In your care there are directions to a secluded house. It belongs to me. It is were I go to relax. I look forward to seeing you there for dinner once in a while. Also, if I have to save your ass one more time, I swear I will have you working for me in my office. I doubt your mate will complain, with you being out of danger." The Admiral said, half joking.
With that he left a stunned hanyou looking at the back of the silver head demon, dressed in the pristine white uniform of an Admiral. Inuyasha could only wonder about his past. But, he knew that the Admiral was like him. He would tell them whenever he was ready. Inuyasha heard a slight bark and turned to his attention deprived mate. He had a whole month of leave and he didn't plan on wasting one minute of it.

With that he left a stunned hanyou looking at the back of the silver head demon, dressed in the pristine white uniform of an Admiral. Inuyasha could only wonder about his past. But, he knew that the Admiral was like him. He would tell them whenever he was ready. Inuyasha heard a slight bark and turned to his attention deprived mate. He had a whole month of leave and he didn't plan on wasting one minute of it.
