Chapter 4

A New Couple

Sango slowly turned around already knowing who was there. "What are you talking about?" Sango asked.

"What Kagome just said. Is it true?" Miroku asked.

Kagome, Inuyasha, Rin, and Sesshomaru slowly tried to creep away. "Don't go anywhere." Sango yelled.

"Sorry Sango we love you but bye." Rin said. She grabbed Sesshomaru's arm and ran for the lounge. Kagome and Inuyasha followed a split second after they did.

"Damn people aren't even here when I need them." Sango muttered.

"It's no use trying to avoid me. I'll just keep bugging you." Miroku said.

"Yes all right it's true." Sango said. She gasped when Miroku grabbed her around her waist. "What are you doing?" She asked.

Miroku smiled and leaned down and kissed her gently. Sango hesitated at first before giving in and melting in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck. When the kiss broke they looked into each other's eyes.

"Does this mean you'll be my girlfriend?" Miroku asked.

"Only if you stop touching other women." Sango said.

"So does that mean I can still touch you?" Miroku asked grabbing her backside.

Sango punched him lightly in the shoulder. "Don't push you luck. You're still a hentai." Sango said.

"What do you think is going on in there?" Rin asked.

"I don't know." Kagome said. She walked over to the couch and laid down. The room was circular and had a couch attached to the wall around stopping at the side of the door.

"Kagome maybe you should go home." Rin said. "You seem to be really tired lately."

"I'm fine." Kagome said with closed eyes. "I just all of today cleaning up finger paint."

"That was a funny sight." Inuyasha said.

"You saw?" Rin asked.

"Hai that's where Shippo goes during the day." Inuyasha said.

"You have a son?" Rin asked. "Does he have the white hair and amber eyes? Who's his mom? Who's watching him now?"

"Rin he can only answer one question at a time." Kagome said.

"He's not my son. I've been taking care of him since his parents died. He has red hair and green eyes." Inuyasha said.

"How long ago did his parents die?" Kagome asked.

"A couple of months." Inuyasha said.

"So that's why he looks so sad." Kagome said.

"What are you talking about?" Inuyasha asked.

"He always looks so sad when I see him." Kagome said.

"No he doesn't he's always running around the house trying to annoy me." Inuyasha said.

"She's right. He does look depressed at times." Sesshomaru said.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Inuyasha asked.

"He wanted to hide it from you." Sesshomaru said.

"Why?" Inuyasha asked.

"Because he doesn't want to make you worry about him. He misses his parents but you can't replace either one and he doesn't want you to feel bad since you're doing so much from him." Kagome said.

"How would you know all that?" Inuyasha asked.

"I've always liked kids." Kagome said. "If you watch them you can tell what's going on."

"She's always been like that." Rin said. "She's really good with kids and can find things out before the parents did. I always thought it was freaky."

"I wonder if they're done talking." Inuyasha said.

"I say we go out there. Nothing is locked up so I highly doubt they're doing anything that's that bad." Sesshomaru said.

"He's right Miroku may be a hentai but Sango wouldn't let him do too much." Rin said.

They crept out of the room so if anything was happening they could silently walk back into the room without the couple knowing. "We've been wondering when you were going to come out of that room." Sango said. She was sitting on the bar.

"If you were done why didn't you say something?" Rin asked.

"I have my reasons." Sango smiled.

"I know that look. We have a lot to talk about when we get home." Rin said.

"If that's what you want. Where's Kagome?" Sango asked.

"I didn't see her come with you guys." Miroku said. "Is she somewhere else?"

"She as in the same room. I could've sworn she was behind us." Rin said.

"She must still be in the room." Sesshomaru said.

"I'll go check on her." Sango said. She left to go see if her friend was all right. She came back without her. "Can someone help me? She's sleeping."

"Just wake her up." Inuyasha said.

"You heard what she went through today. She's probably dead tired." Rin said. "I wonder if she has to work today."

"I think she does." Sango said.

"How long has she kept this up?" Inuyasha asked.

"Kept what up?" Sesshomaru asked.

"She goes to work at the daycare at about six in the morning and gets off at about seven. Then she comes here at about eight and doesn't leave until about three in the morning. Then it happens all over again." Rin said.

"Why does she work such long hours?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Well she's the only one at the daycare. Her grandmother owns it but she's too sick to help right now. She's helping the baka over there because he's short handed some workers." Sango said.

"She's too nice to say no or take the money I'm willing to pay her." Miroku said.

"Will someone help me take her home?" Sango said.

"I don't need any help I'll be fine." Kagome said. She rubbed her eyes and walked past everyone. "I'm going to leave if you don't need me anymore. I have work in a couple of hours."

"I don't need you but..." Miroku started.

"I'll be back tonight to help out." Kagome said and walked away before anyone could say anything else.

"See she does this every time." Sango said.

"Well are you guys just going to stand there or are you going to give her a ride home?" Rin asked.

"I offered her a ride yesterday and she kept refusing." Inuyasha said.

"So you let her walk home?" Sango yelled.

"No! I didn't let her walk home. I finally convinced her to get in the car." Inuyasha said. "I just don't want to get into another argument with her."

"You might as well drive her Inuyasha. If you haven't noticed she still has your jacket." Sesshomaru said. Inuyasha sighed and walked to his car.

"I think he likes her." Rin said.

"How can you tell?" Sesshomaru asked. "They haven't even talked that much from what I've heard you guys tell me."

"That doesn't matter." Rin said. "If Sango can get over Miroku's lechery I'm sure anything can happen."

"Hey who told you anything happened?" Sango said.

"I can tell by the way Miroku's eyes shine." Rin said. "He wants to grope you but I don't know why he hasn't yet."

Everyone looked at Miroku. "What? Ok it's true. I do want to but I have refrained from doing so." Miroku said. "Don't look so surprised I can't be a pervert all the time."

"Sure Miroku whatever you say." Sango rolled her eyes.

Kagome stifled another yawn while walking down the street. She was so tired. She almost screamed when she heard a car honk. She turned around to see what the hell was the problem. No one was around and it wasn't like she was in the way.

She turned around to see Inuyasha in his car. "Don't you have anything better to do than to scare people?" She asked still walking.

"Nope. Come on I'll give you a ride. Don't say no or I'll force you into this car." Inuyasha said.

She rolled her eyes. "That's ok. I highly doubt you'd force me into your car. You don't even know me so why are you offering to drive me home?"

"Fine have it your way." Inuyasha said. He stopped his car and got out. He grabbed Kagome around her waist and walked to the driver's side of the door. He shoved her in trying not to hurt her and climbed in.

When he saw her try to climb out the passenger's side he grabbed her once again and held her in place on his lap. He started the car and started driving to her house. "It's dangerous to drive like this." Kagome complained.

"Only if you move around like your doing now." Inuyasha said. "I wouldn't have to drive like this if you had just gotten in the damn car."

"Why do you have to fight me about this." Kagome said.

"I'm stubborn and have to have it my way." Inuyasha said.

"You can let me go now." Kagome said. She was still in his lap. One hand was on the wheel while the other rested on her stomach.

"I'd let you get up but I might crash." Inuyasha said.

"Then stop the car and let me sit down." Kagome said.

"So you can try to get out again. We're almost there." Inuyasha said.

Kagome sighed. They were almost to her house or she would've argued more about it. When he stopped the car he grabbed her waist and pulled her out. Then he set her down. "Thank you." Kagome said. "Oh here's your jacket."

He took the jacket and stepped back into the car. "You should take it easy you know." Inuyasha said. Then he drove away.

Kagome walked into her room and sat on her bed. She had to be up in an hour. `No point in sleeping now.' She thought. She got up to make some coffee. She was going to need it.

Hope you like it. I may not be able to update on some things for a while. I'll be busy the next couple of days. And I'm sick AGAIN!! I'm supposed to be cleaning the kitchen right now but I'm typing instead. (I should be in bed. I had to be picked up from school because my tummy hurts.) Anyways let me know what you think. Ja ne.
