Chapter 30

Packing Up

The next day Kagome had spent most of the day packing. She was now taking a break. There was a knock on the door as soon as she sat down on the couch. Getting up she went to answer it.

"Hey." Inuyasha said. "Done packing yet?"

"You expect me to get all my packing done within three hours?" Kagome asked.

"You're just slow." Inuyasha said.

Kagome slammed the door shut and locked it. She went back to sitting on the couch. Inuyasha banged on the door countless times. Mumbled curses could be heard from outside the door. It was a wonder her neighbors didn't complain.

About an hour later Kagome got tired of the banging. She opened the door. "You never give up, do you?" Kagome asked.

"Nope." Inuyasha smiled. "I'm stubborn, as if you hadn't noticed."

"You're a baka." Kagome whispered.

"What?" Inuyasha asked.

"Nothing." Kagome said. She saw his mouth open. "Before you say anything, no I'm not done packing."

"Why not, you had all morning." Inuyasha whined. He sounded like a little kid who couldn't get his way.

"These things take time. I have to decide what I want to bring, where to pack it, and I have to find out what to do with the things I don't want to keep." Kagome said.

"Why don't you just throw everything away?" Inuyasha asked. "I have everything you need at my place."

"You don't have everything." Kagome said.

"So what? I'll buy whatever you need. Just grab all your sentimental stuff and pack it so we can go." Inuyasha said.

"I'd feel bad if you bought me everything." Kagome said. "Besides, we haven't talked about rent or anything."

"You don't have to pay rent." Inuyasha said.

"I'd like to pay for some of it." Kagome said.

"I own the whole floor." Inuyasha said. "It's not like I'm going to go bankrupt anytime soon."

"I'd still feel bad about it." Kagome said.

"Fine, then how about this, you watch Shippo while I'm out and we'll call it even." Inuyasha said. "No arguments."

Kagome sighed knowing she wasn't going to get any say in it. He was too stubborn. "I still have to finish packing." Kagome said.

"Are you at least almost done?" Inuyasha asked. "I said I'd buy whatever you needed later."

"I just have to finish packing my clothes." Kagome said. "I don't know what to do with the rest of my things though."

"I'll take care of that, you just finish packing." Inuyasha said. "I'll come back later."

"Okay." Kagome said. Inuyasha gave her a quick kiss and left. "He'll be the death of me."

A couple of hours later Inuyasha knocked on Kagome's door. No one answered. He tested the knob and found that it was unlocked. He walked in and found Kagome lying on her floor. The couch was full of boxes. She was sleeping with a small blanket covering her upper body.

Inuyasha smiled and picked her up. It was about seven so she'd been packing for a long time. He opened the front door and locked it. He carried her down to his car. Somehow he managed to open the passenger side door without waking or dropping Kagome.

He buckled her in and got in on his side. They could move her stuff tomorrow. She looked exhausted. He drove to his place and carried her up to the elevator. Once he unlocked his door he shut it with his foot.

He opened the door to his room and laid her on the bed. He covered her up with a blanket and turned off the light. He still had to go to the club. `Damn Miroku and his bets.' Inuyasha cursed silently.

Once he got to the club he got out of his car. "Hey Inuyasha." Miroku said. "Where's Kagome?"

"She's at my place sleeping." Inuyasha said.

"Is she?" Miroku asked as they both walked into the club.

"Not because of that lecher, she was packing all day." Inuyasha said.

"Packing?" Miroku asked.

"She's moving in with me." Inuyasha said.

"She is?" Rin asked. "That's great."

"Never would've expected Kagome to agree to that." Sango said.

"She didn't. That's what I wanted for the bet." Inuyasha said. "I asked her to move in with me earlier and she never answered."

"She probably would've moved in with you anyway." Rin said.

"Who would want to live with Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Why you..."

"Sess, you don't have to be so mean." Rin said.

"Keh, like I care what he says." Inuyasha said.

"So where are these interesting outfits you have for us this time?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Too bad Kagome's not here to see." Sango said. She handed the guys a box and shoved them in the back room.

"We should all go out to dinner and celebrate Kagome and Inuyasha's moving in." Rin said.

"That's a good idea. We can go out after Kagome's settled in." Sango said.

A couple minutes later the guys walked out. They were wearing policemen outfits. They had a blue uniform with the shirt unbuttoned. They had a hat on their head and a fake gun attached to their side. "Who thought this great idea up?" Inuyasha asked sarcastically.

Rin raised her hand. "I just love a man in uniform." She giggled.

"She designed them and everything." Sango said. She noticed women were starting to come in. "Get to work boys. You know where we'll be."

Both girls left laughing. Women started shouting orders at the guys and looking them up and down. It was the same thing every night. Busy, busy, busy. The guys wondered if they would last the whole week.

When the night was over the guys were as usual laying or leaning on something. The girls walked out to see the pathetic image the guys made and laughed. "Tired?" Rin teased.

"Shut up, men weren't made for this kind of work." Miroku whined.

"Just be glad you don't go through childbirth." Sango said.

"So does this mean your thinking about children?" Miroku asked.

"Not on your life." Sango glared evilly.

"It's wishful thinking." Rin said. "Unless it's an accident, or something."

Miroku smiled. "We shouldn't even be talking about kids." Sango said. "Let's go Miroku."

With that said Miroku was dragged away by Sango. Inuyasha stood up. "Well I'm going home." He said.

"Bye Inuyasha, tell Kagome to call me." Rin said.

"Bye Rin, Sesshomaru." Inuyasha said. He waved as he left. He got in his car and went to pick up Shippo. No doubt he's happy that Kagome is staying the night even though she wasn't finished packing.

He knocked on Myoga's door. "Hello Inuyasha. No Kagome this time?" Myoga smiled.

"She's not always with me." Inuyasha said. "Shippo, you ready?"

"He's asleep. He spent all of today drawing a picture for Kagome as a moving in gift I guess. He worked real hard." Myoga said.

Inuyasha walked in and picked Shippo up. "Where's the picture?" Inuyasha asked.

"I told him I'd frame it once it dried." Myoga said. "He wants it to look nice for Kagome."

"I guess I should get going." Inuyasha said. "Thanks Myoga."

"Anytime." Myoga said.

Inuyasha carried Shippo down to his car. He opened the passenger door and buckled Shippo in. He got in on his side and drove home. He parked in front of the building and carried Shippo in.

He shut the front door and walked in. He carried Shippo into his room and pulled the blanket up. Inuyasha yawned and walked into his room. He stripped his clothes down to his boxers and crawled into bed.

Kagome awoke from movement on the bed. She sat up and looked around. She was supposed to be packing. "This isn't my living room." Kagome said still tired.

"You're in my room." Inuyasha said.

Kagome looked down to her side. "How'd I get here?" Kagome asked.

"I brought you here." Inuyasha said.

"Oh." Kagome said. "What time is it?"

"About three." Inuyasha said.

"What about the club?" Kagome asked.

"I let you sleep. I went and worked." Inuyasha said.

"Why didn't you wake me?" Kagome asked.

"You needed sleep. You've been packing all day." Inuyasha said.

"Still, I would've went to the club." Kagome said.

"You can go tomorrow then." Inuyasha said. He pulled her back down and wrapped his arms around her. "Kagome."

"Nani?" Kagome said.

"Would you have wanted to move in if I didn't want it as part of the bet?" Inuyasha asked.

"I-" Kagome was cut off when the door opened.

They both looked up at the doorway. "Shippo." They both said.

"I had a bad dream." Shippo said.

"You can sleep in here I guess." Inuyasha said.

"Really?" Shippo asked.

"Yeah, sure you can." Inuyasha said.

Shippo ran towards the couple and wiggled in-between them. He pulled the blanket up and smiled. He fell asleep in an instant. Kagome giggled and put her hand over him. Inuyasha did the same and intertwined his fingers with Kagome's.

"Inuyasha." Kagome said.

"Hmm?" Inuyasha said.

"I would've moved in." Kagome said.

Inuyasha smiled and squeezed her hand. Kagome squeezed back and they both went to sleep.

Sorry if this seems a little boring. The packing needed to be done and so on. I know many of you want an Inu/Kag lemon. It may be coming up soon. Depends on how my brain wants to work. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
