Chapter 36

Last Night Off

Shippo crossed his arms and turned away. Inuyasha had been mad at him for a while and he didn't understand why. He didn't do anything. Then it clicked. He smirked and looked at Inuyasha. "Oh, I know why you're mad." He said slyly.

"Keh, like you would know anything." Inuyasha said.

"You're mad because I keep interrupting you and Kagome. Every time I come in you guys are kissing." Shippo said.

"You sure don't act like your six." Inuyasha said, eyeing the child skeptically.

"So it's true!" Shippo exclaimed.

"That's not something someone your age should know." Inuyasha said.

"You're just mad because Kagome likes me better than you." Shippo stuck his tongue out at him.

"She does not!" Inuyasha yelled.

"What are you guys yelling about?" Kagome asked. She had finished her food and sat down on the couch.

"Nothing." Inuyasha said. Shippo laughed.

Kagome was confused but shrugged it off as nothing. "Shouldn't you be taking Shippo to daycare by now?" She asked.

Inuyasha looked at the clock on the wall. "That's right. Gather your things, runt." Inuyasha said.

Shippo nodded and ran into his room to get his things. "What was the yelling for? And don't say it's nothing." Kagome said.

"It was nothing. It didn't concern you." Inuyasha said.

"Okay." She said not wanting to pry.

Shippo came back out of the room with his backpack. "I'm ready." Shippo said.

"Let's go." Inuyasha said. "Kagome, why don't you stay here."

"But I was going to go with you." Kagome said.

"I'm just dropping him off." Inuyasha said.

Shippo walked up to her and hugged her goodbye and walked outside the door. "Hurry up, Inuyasha!" He yelled.

"Hold your horses." Inuyasha said.

"But I don't have any horses." Shippo laughed.

"Little smart ass." Inuyasha mumbled. He leaned down and kissed her on the lips. "I'll be back soon."

"Hai." Kagome said. After Inuyasha was gone she sat down on the couch and turned on the TV.

"What should we do today?" Sango asked.

"I don't know." Miroku said.

"Come on, it's our last night off." Sango said. "We have to go back to work tomorrow."

"I know that. I'm the one who gave the days off remember?" Miroku said. They were both in Miroku's bedroom at his apartment. They'd been there since Rin cancelled their lunch plans. He was lying on his back on the bed.

"Think of something." Sango said. She stood up to put something on. She grabbed one of Miroku's button up shirts.

"I like the way my shirt looks on you." Miroku said. The shirt was buttoned all the way except for the first three buttons and it went down just passed her butt.

"You'd rather have me walking around naked." Sango said.

"Well, of course. I would love to see you walking around naked all the time." Miroku said.

Sango rolled her eyes and was about to walk out of the room. Miroku sat up and hugged her from behind. "Let's just go back to sleep. We can do something later tonight. I just want to be with you for a little while." He whispered in her ear.

Sango nodded and crawled back into bed with him. It was very rare that he acted like that. Somewhere inside the hentai was romantic guy. She laid her head on his chest and fell asleep.

Sesshomaru woke up from a deep sleep and yawned. He'd never slept that well before. Slowly he removed Rin's arm from his waist and got out of bed. Rin groaned and turned towards him. "Morning." She said.

"Morning. Sleep well?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Of course." Rin said. "What are you doing?"

"I need to get to work." Sesshomaru said. "I have to wrap some things up."

"Where do you work?" Rin asked. "I asked you before but we were interrupted and I forgot about it."

"I own my own a banking company." Sesshomaru said. (I know nothing of business so some things may be a little off. Shh, play along. No one will know if you don't say anything.)

"Really?" Rin asked. "What company?"

"Youkai National Bank." Sesshomaru said.

"That's one of the best banks in Japan." Rin said in awe.

"I guess it is." Sesshomaru said. He had his shirt and pants on. The pants were wrinkled and he had to leave the shirt unbuttoned because they were ripped off from yesterday. "I'll have to go get another suit."

"I told you so." Rin giggled.

Sesshomaru leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Dinner tonight?" He asked.

"Hai." Rin said.

"I'll pick you up at eight." Sesshomaru said.

"Hai." Rin said. "Ja ne."

"Ja." Sesshomaru said. He kissed her and left.

Rin sat up in bed and decided to get dressed and get something to eat. She'd have to pick something nice to wear for dinner tonight.

Inuyasha opened the door to his apartment and closed it once he was inside. Kagome was sitting on the couch reading a book. "Hey Inuyasha." Kagome said not looking up from the book.

"You're reading?" Inuyasha said more than asked.

"Hai." Kagome said still looking at her book.

"What for?"

"What do you mean, what for? I like reading."

"You could always watch TV."

"Nothing on."

"Let's go see a movie then." Inuyasha said.

Kagome put her book down on the table. "Let me get dressed." She said.

"Don't take forever!" He yelled.

Kagome and Inuyasha walked out of a shop down the street from the movie theatre. Inuyasha's arms were full of boxes and bags. "Did you have to get so much damn stuff?" Inuyasha asked.

"Hai, I did." Kagome said. She only had one small bag in her hand. "What are you complaining for? You paid for the stuff."

"I just wanted to get out of the damn store. You were taking too long." Inuyasha said. We already missed the first movie because it took you so long to get ready."

"I wanted to look nice. I was just about done when you grabbed everything and took them to the cashier." Kagome said.

"Like I knew that." Inuyasha said.

"You should've." Kagome said.

"I can't read minds Kagome." Inuyasha said gruffly.

"Maybe it's something you should try to learn." Kagome giggled.

"Yeah, I'll get right on that." Inuyasha said sarcastically.

"Don't we have to pick Shippo up?" Kagome asked.

"No, Myoga is picking him up. We're going out to dinner." Inuyasha said. They walked to his car. Inuyasha opened the trunk and threw the boxes in.

"I never agreed to that." Kagome said.

"You don't have a choice, now do you?" Inuyasha asked.

"I'm not dressed to go out." Kagome said.

"I think you look great in what you're wearing." Inuyasha said.

Kagome blushed and got in the car. Inuyasha did the same. "You usually take me somewhere fancy." She said.

"What's wrong with that?" Inuyasha asked.

"I feel uncomfortable there. I'd rather eat somewhere a little less..." Kagome trailed off not knowing how to describe it.

"Less what?" Inuyasha asked.

"I just, feel out of place in fancy restaurants like that." Kagome said.

"Then where do you want to go?" Inuyasha asked.

An hour later they were done eating. "That place wasn't so bad." Inuyasha said.

"It's elegant, but not to fancy and sophisticated." Kagome said. The restaurant had a nice friendly atmosphere and great food.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll stop taking you to such fancy places then." Inuyasha said. "I never liked those damn restaurants anyway. The damn waiters are so stuck up."

"I don't mind. Maybe every once in a while, like on a special occasion." Kagome said.

"I'll remember that then." Inuyasha said.

"Arigato." Kagome said. She kissed him on his cheek. "Thanks for dinner too."

"That's it? I take you out to dinner and buy you all that stuff, and all I get is a lousy kiss on the cheek?" Inuyasha said.

"You're driving." Kagome laughed.

Inuyasha parked the car in front of Myoga's place. He grabbed Kagome and pulled her into his lap. His lips were on hers in a bruising kiss. She wrapped her arms around Inuyasha's neck.

His tongue explored her mouth and fought with hers for dominance that neither side would win. Inuyasha's hand traveled up her thigh to cup her behind causing her to moan.

They broke the kiss gasping for air. "Now that's what I call a thank you." Inuyasha smirked.

Yay I finished the chapter in only one hour. I started it not knowing what the hell I was going to do and next thing I know the chapter is done. Woo hoo for me. Hope you like it. Let me know what you think.

What is a beta reader?
A beta reader basically is an editor.
When will the fic end?
Who knows? From the reviews I've gotten no one wants it to end. This fic is basically a filler type fic. Plot without plot. I just write some ideas and throw it together in a fic.
Will there be an Inuyasha and Kagome lemon?
Of course there will be a lemon. It just might take a while. To me I don't see them going at it right now. That's just how their characters are set in my head. There will be a lemon soon. So many people are waiting and requesting it.
What about Kohaku?
Kohaku lives with his mom and dad. Sango and Rin moved out and got a house together. Sorry if it seemed like they lived together. Gomen.
