Chapter 41

Provocative Clothing

Inuyasha and Kagome had just gotten back from the store. They walked since it was close and Inuyasha still didn't have a car. They bought some pills and Inuyasha got a lock for the bedroom door. He grabbed it when Kagome wasn't looking, otherwise she'd protest or something. They were both sitting on the couch waiting for Shippo to get home.

After about an hour of arguing Kagome had been able to convince Inuyasha to let Shippo come home. He wanted to keep him there for another day and she wouldn't have it. "When are you getting a car?" Kagome asked.

"I already ordered another one. I called the company and had them customize it to my liking. It should be here tomorrow at the latest." Inuyasha said.

"You must have some good connections." Kagome said.

"Nope, just a lot of money. Money makes the world go round." Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

Kagome giggled at his sarcasm and stood up. "Where are you going?" Inuyasha asked.

"I have to start getting ready for work." Kagome said.

Inuyasha grabbed her arm and pulled her into his lap. He kissed her and rested his hands on her waist. "I don't want you working there anymore." Inuyasha said.

"What?" Kagome said. "You can't tell me what to do."

"I'm not. I just don't want you working there. It's dangerous with all those guys around, especially Kouga." Inuyasha said.

"I'm not just going to quit. Miroku needs my help." Kagome said.

"He can find someone else to help out." Inuyasha said.

"I'm not quitting just because you tell me to." Kagome said. "I can take care of myself."

"No you can't. You've already proved that twice." Inuyasha said referring to the times Kouga came by.

"Yes I can. He just overpowered me, that's all." Kagome said. Managing to get out of his grasp she walked to her bedroom door.

Inuyasha stood up and pushed her against the door so that her stomach was pressed against the wall. It was the only thing he could think of to get her to listen to him. "I don't want you working there. Your clothes are too provocative and the men touch you. I'm the only one that's allowed to touch you." Inuyasha said. He flipped her around so he could look in her eyes.

"I can't just quit because of that." Kagome said. "Where am I going to work if I quit?"

"You don't have to work." Inuyasha said.

"I have to work somewhere." Kagome said.

"No you don't. I'll take care of you." Inuyasha said. "Just as long as you don't work there."

"I-" Kagome started but was cut off by Inuyasha's kiss. Her head was pressed against the wall as his tongue entered her mouth. He broke the kiss a second later.

"I don't want those men to look at you like they do." Inuyasha said. "I don't know how Sesshomaru and Miroku can stand it."

"You're just more jealous than them." Kagome said.

"Don't work there, please." Inuyasha said.

"I'll think about it." Kagome said.

Inuyasha smiled and leaned down to kiss her again but were interrupted by knocking at the door. He sighed and walked over to answer it. "What do you want?" Inuyasha said rudely.

"I came by to pick Kagome up. I dropped Shippo off at Myoga's because I knew you'd come along." Miroku said.

"I'll be there in a minute." Kagome said.

"Ah, Kagome can you bring the first uniform out again? The girls are wearing that again." Miroku said.

"Kaede had her hands tied with the new outfit or you can't think of any ideas?" Kagome asked.

"Kaede had her hands tied." Miroku said.

"I've been meaning to ask. Is this Kaede an owner of a daycare?" Kagome asked.

"Hai." Miroku said. "She has to stay in bed, so she makes clothes while other people run the daycare center."

"So it's the same Kaede." Kagome said.

"What?" Miroku asked.

"Kaede was my former boss when I worked at the daycare center." Kagome said.

"Ah. I remember you talking about her once." Miroku said. "Small world."

"I guess." Kagome said. She walked into her room to change into the short black uniform Miroku asked her to wear.

"Did you have fun last night?" Miroku asked.

"Lecher." Inuyasha said. "That's none of your business."

"Ahh, so you did." Miroku smiled.

Kagome walked out of the room ceasing all talks about what they did while they were alone. "I'm ready." Kagome said.

"Let's go then." Miroku said. "When are you getting a new car?"

Inuyasha explained about his car as they drove to the club. He was hoping the car would get there by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. Picking and dropping Shippo off would be hard without a car.

Everyone got out of the car and walked into the club. Sango, Rin, and Sesshomaru were already waiting at the bar for them. "It's about time you got here." Sango said.

"Are you feeling better Inuyasha?" Rin asked.

"Yeah, it was just a sprain." Inuyasha said. "It's already better."

"Did you check in with the doctors earlier today?" Rin asked.

"I forgot." Inuyasha said. He'd missed his appointment because he was with Kagome. "I'll reschedule for tomorrow then."

"Baka." Kagome said as she walked passed him to talk to the girls.

"Oi, Miroku, can I use the phone?" Inuyasha asked.

"It's in the back." Miroku said.

Inuyasha walked into the back and shut the door. "You look like something is wrong." Rin said to Kagome.

"Just thinking. Inuyasha wants me to quit this job because of Kouga and other gropers." Kagome said.

"Well, Inuyasha does seem pretty possessive, and he is really attached to you." Rin said.

"I can't just quit though. Miroku needs the help. That's why I chose this job instead of the daycare." Kagome said.

"It's up to you. I'm sure Miroku could find someone to work here if you left." Sango said. "We'd miss working with you."

"You make it seem like I've already made my decision." Kagome said.

"We're just saying." Sango said.

"You seem different tonight." Rin said.

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked.

"I've noticed it too." Sango said.

"Are you and Inuyasha..." Rin started.

Inuyasha arrived and interrupted. "My car is being delivered tonight. It should be here by the time the club closes." Inuyasha said.

"Let's get to work." Kagome said ignoring the questioning stares from Rin and Sango. She grabbed a tray and headed towards the crowd that was coming in.

Rin and Sango looked at each other and shrugged it off waiting for orders from the people that were headed their way.

Later that night Kagome was walking back towards the bar to see about some drinks. Suddenly she was pulled to the side. "What the..." Kagome started. "Hojo! How'd you find out where I worked?"

"Your grandfather finds out lots of things about you." Hojo said. He looked her up and down. "What are you wearing?"

"This is my uniform. And no, I don't enjoy wearing it." Kagome said.

Without warning she was being dragged out of the club. For someone who didn't seem strong, he had one hell of a grip. "Hojo, what are you doing? Let go!" Kagome said. Since when did guys think they could boss her around?

He dragged her outside and let go of her arm. "You shouldn't walk around in that outfit." Hojo said. "It's really revealing."

"What the hell is going on?"

Kagome looked behind Hojo and saw Inuyasha standing there looking pissed off. "Inuyasha." She said.

"What the fuck were you doing?" Inuyasha asked Hojo.

"I was taking Kagome out of that horrible place. She shouldn't wear that kind of clothing." Hojo said.

"She can wear whatever the hell she wants." Inuyasha said. "Don't touch her again."

"You shouldn't let her walk around wearing...that." Hojo said.

"Listen, Hobo, if she wanted to wear that outfit, she wouldn't. Kagome thinks for herself, so even if she wanted to wear it, I couldn't stop her." Inuyasha said. "I suggest you go home before you piss me off even more."

"Gomen Higurashi." Hojo said and left.

"Arigato Inuyasha." Kagome said. "What were you doing out here?"

"I was waiting for my car." Inuyasha said.

"It looks like your last one." Kagome said. She remembered the red color and black leather interior.

"Of course. I liked it the way it was." Inuyasha said. "That bastard totaled it. If he wasn't going to jail, I would've killed him."

"Let's go back inside." Kagome said.
