Family

Inuyasha and Shippo were on their way home. Kagome had stayed home to get rid of her headache. They wanted to celebrate Shippo's adoption. Kagome stayed home and fixed things up a bit after her headache was gone.

Shippo thought there was something wrong. Inuyasha hadn't said anything since he saw him and he didn't look too happy either. "Did I do something wrong?" Shippo asked as they got out of the car.

Inuyasha didn't want to say anything to give the adoption away so he hadn't said anything at all. He didn't want Shippo to feel like he had done anything at all. Without a word he picked Shippo up and playfully threw him over his shoulder. Shippo laughed and they walked up to their home.

Thankfully for Kagome her headache had gone away. She had just walked out of the bedroom dressed in a yellow dress when Inuyasha and Shippo walked in. "Shippo!" Kagome said excitedly. She ran over to him and hugged him.

Shippo was a little confused why Kagome was so exited to see him. He hugged her anyway. "What's going on?" He asked.

"We got a call from the adoption agency." Inuyasha said seeing as how Kagome was too excited to say it.

"What happened?" Shippo asked.

"Your our son." Inuyasha said.

"Really?" Shippo asked. His eyes grew wide and he hugged Inuyasha. "Does this mean your getting married?"

"Shippo..." Kagome began to say. The phone rang, interrupting what she was going to say. "I'll get it."

"Sooooo do I get a present?" Shippo asked, trying to put on his most innocent look.

"We can go before we have to leave for Sesshomaru and Rin's." Kagome said.

"What the hell are you talking about? He's spoiled everyday we don't need to give him more stuff." Inuyasha said.

"There wedding is soon isn't it?" Shippo asked.

"Hai, tomorrow we need to get all of our clothes fitted. The wedding is in about a week or so. Rin wants you and Kohaku to be the ring bearers." Kagome said.

"Oi, you're ignoring me again." Inuyasha frowned.

"Come on Shippo lets go." Kagome said. "Oh Inuyasha you too."

Inuyasha glared at her because he knew she was ignoring him on purpose. He sighed and followed after them. He just wanted to get this wedding over with. It wasn't even his own wedding but he was stuck being involved with it.

The next day everyone was exhausted. Shippo's happiness was wearing everyone out, not to mention the wedding everyone was trying to get planned. Finally everyone was getting fitted.

As to Rin's request Sesshomaru had the wedding store closed to all people who weren't involved with the wedding. He even got the owners to put the males in one room and the females in the other so no one was able to the other's clothes. Rin wanted it to be a surprise. She knew the dresses she picked out for her maid of honors were going to make the guy's jaws drop. She secretly hoped it would inspire the guys to also propose to their obvious loves.

The guys were standing in the room already in their tuxes. They were waiting for the tailors to arrive. They were stuck in traffic and would be at least twenty minutes late. "This is ridiculous!" Inuyasha shouted. "I can barely move in this damn thing!"

"You can suffer for one day in a suit." Sesshomaru said. He was always used to wearing suits. He wore them on a daily basis.

"I don't think its that bad. I rather like the sophisticated look." Miroku said as he checked himself out in the mirror.

"You'll ruin that when you grope Sango." Inuyasha said.

"From what Rin told me the dresses will shock you both." Sesshomaru said.

"And you won't be?" Inuyasha said as he fought with his tie.

"I didn't say that." Sesshomaru said. He no longer denied things he didn't know of after the last time. He ended up making an ass of himself and has yet to live it down. "You only have to wear the tie through the actual ceremony part. During the reception you can take the tie and jacket off."

"With all the partying I won't be surprised if some other articles of clothing come off." Miroku said lecherously.

"Lecher." Both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha muttered under their breaths.

"Your lucky you're my brother or I would attend your wedding with sweats on." Inuyasha said. He had finally given up on the tie and threw it to the ground. To show how much hatred he had for it he stomped on it a few times.

"Your much too frustrated." Sesshomaru said.

"I am not!" Inuyasha yelled. He was frustrated. He couldn't help it. The last month or so had been hectic. He'd barely spent any time with Kagome and it was driving him insane. The need to touch her was slowly killing him inside.

"Hai, we can all tell in your attitude." Miroku chuckled lightly.

"I don't care if I am in a nine hundred dollar suit. I will beat the shit out of you if you don't stop with your comments." Inuyasha warned. "Where the fuck are the tailors?"

Both Kagome and Sango looked at themselves in awe. They couldn't believe how beautiful the dress Rin had picked was. They couldn't help but think they looked good in it. The dresses were pretty much the same just different colors. Rin picked out a color that flattered them both.

The dresses were spaghetti straps and were low cut. In the front it had an upside down V cut so that it showed a little leg before it flared down into a train behind them. It was very tight fitting, showing off all curves. Sango's dress was a light purple color and Kagome's was a dark blood red. Rin also made sure to get the girls in their boyfriend's favorite color.

"Rin I can't believe you picked out such a beautiful dress." Kagome said as she inspected herself further.

"I love it." Sango said as she put on her shoes.

"I'm glad you like them. I thought you'd love them so that's why I picked them out." Rin said. "They'll be sent to the changing room at the church. The guys can't see our dresses until afterwards."

"Well of course for you it's bad luck." Sango laughed.

"I know." Rin said. "Sesshomaru is picking my dress out. He said the tailor is late so I won't get it for a while."

"I'm sure Sesshomaru would get something very nice for you." Kagome said. She spun around in her dress a little before stepping away from the mirror.

"I can't wait until the wedding." Rin said. "I'm exhausted from all the planning. Not to mention I'll be with the love of my life."

"Your with him now." Sango said making fun of her.

"You know what I mean." Rin said as she hit her arm. "I really do love Sesshomaru."

"Well if you didn't he would be wasting a lot of money on this meaningless wedding." Kagome said joining in on the teasing.

"Look who's talking." Rin directed towards Kagome. "You haven't said you love Inuyasha when you clearly do."

"I-"

"Don't deny it. We can see it in your eyes. You've never acted this way with a guy before. You need to tell him. He's dying to hear it you can tell in his movements." Sango said.

"He's been wanting to say it to. Why do you think he's gone to such lengths to do stuff for you? Sesshomaru says you're the only girl he's ever been attracted to, the only girl who's ever liked him for him and not his money or looks. Your more than just a trophy girlfriend if that's what you're worried about."

"He seems so lonely right now." Sango said. "Your doing the same thing I did to Miroku."

"But I'm with him." Kagome said.

"Your there but your not paying attention to him. He needs you. I know that this wedding is taking a lot from you but you should pay some attention to him soon." Rin sat down and played with a nearby veil.

Kagome walked out of the main room and entered one of the sub rooms to change. She put her white dress back on and wandered around the shop. Only the owners were near and they weren't paying attention to her. She finally sat down in one of the rooms that was secluded from the rest of the store.

She did love Inuyasha. She just wasn't ready to tell him. The only man she loved and she didn't want to scare him off. She hadn't realized that she'd been so distant from him. Now that she thought about it she was pretty cold to him the last couple of days. She really was ignoring him a lot.

Kagome lowered her head and tried to think of ways to make it up to him. First thing was to leave Shippo with someone. Hopefully he could stay with Kohaku and he wouldn't ask any questions. Leaning her head against the wall she tried to think of what else to do.

Three hours of being uncomfortable and angry Inuyasha and the others left the bridal shop. He was relieved to be wearing regular clothing. Once he got home he planned to strip down to his boxers just because he could. The suit was so confining and he didn't know if he could wear it all day.

"I think we should all go out to eat and then go dancing." Rin said. "We all need a day to relax."

"Dancing in your condition?" Miroku asked.

"It's not a disease it's a baby." Rin snapped. The mood swings were already hitting her.

"I say we go dancing as Rin has suggested." Miroku said as he moved away from Rin and behind Sango.

"Hai, that sounds like a good idea. We can drop Kohaku and Shippo off at my mother's house so we won't have to worry about them." Sango offered. She pulled out her cell phone so she could call.

"Fine, we'll meet you at Lucky's at ten." Inuyasha said. He grabbed Kagome's arm and dragged her to the car.

"You don't seem to enthusiastic about going dancing." Kagome smiled. She was glad they were going to ease some of the stress for the night.

Inuyasha snorted. He liked dancing, especially with Kagome. He just wanted to go home for a while. "Inuyasha can we say goodbye to Shippo first?" Kagome asked.

"Oh yeah." Inuyasha said. He was still getting used to having a son. "Be good Shippo and don't do anything stupid. I'll pick you up tomorrow."

"Hai." Shippo said. He hugged Inuyasha and then went to Kagome. "See you tomorrow Otou-san, Okaa-san."

He hugged Kagome and she kissed him on the cheek before leaving. "Have fun Shippo." She waved goodbye.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to being a father." Inuyasha sighed as he got into the car.

"I think you make a good father." Kagome smiled. "You treated him as your son when you weren't his father."

Inuyasha smiled and thanked her. It meant a lot to hear that from someone, especially Kagome. He glanced at her before concentrating on the drive home.

I finally updated. It took me forever. The bad thing is I wrote this chapter in less than an hour. I don't even know how I came up with it. I just opened the document and bam there was a chapter. Well I hope you like this chapter and hopefully the next one will come out much sooner than this one did. Let me know what you think. Ja ne.
