Chapter 65

With The One You Love

“I can't believe you didn't tell me sooner!” Kagome's mother said.

“Gomen Okaa-san. Things just went by so fast. I only have a month to plan the wedding...” Kagome said.

“A month!” Kagome's mother said. “How are you going to pull that off?”

“I don't know. I mean I have Sango and Rin helping me already.” Kagome said. “Inuyasha won't go anywhere near any of the planning. He avoids us when we're getting things set up.”

“Well if you'd like I can help when you need it.” Ms. Higurashi offered. “Just let me know what you need help with.”

“Arigato Okaa-san.” Kagome said. “I don't know what you could do now. I'll call when I find out the details. Onegai, don't let Ji-chan hear about this.”

“Oh I won't. If he finds out it's because someone else told him. I've already scolded him about meddling into your life.” Ms. Higurashi said.

“Arigato.” Kagome said. “I'll call you tomorrow. Ja ne.”

“Bye dear.” Ms. Higurashi said and hung up the phone.

Kagome slowly hung up the phone and sank down to the ground. “Well that's one problem solved.” She muttered.

“Phone call with your mother not go too well?” Inuyasha asked in a sardonic tone.

“Shut up Inuyasha.” Kagome said. “It's your fault that you wanted to do this so quickly.”

“We could always just elope you know.” Inuyasha said. “But somehow I doubt you'd go for the idea.”

“As enticing as that sounds, Okaa-san would kill me if I skipped out on an actual wedding.” Kagome said. She stood up and walked over to him.

“You know what else is enticing?” He asked as his hand ran up her leg towards her butt.

“Answering the door?” Kagome swatted his hand away and answered the door. “Inuyasha, our guests have arrived.”

“Dammit.” Inuyasha cursed. “Us guys are leaving then.”

“Will you please tell me you at least booked a date for the wedding?” Kagome asked. “I asked you to do it three days ago.”

“Two, you asked me that morning.” Inuyasha said with a raised eyebrow.

Kagome slapped him on the chest. “Inuyasha!” She blushed horribly. “Did you book the date or not?”

“Yeah I did.” He handed her a card and grabbed his jacket. “Let's go before these girls blow up with excitement.”

Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Miroku all walked out so they would be far away from any anger or uncontrollable happiness the girls might have. They didn't want a repeat of a while ago when the girls all came rushing in and jumped on their guy to show them some pictures. It was more painful than pleasurable on their part...

“Well let's get to work.” Kagome said. “We have three weeks to plan this wedding.”

“So what should we start with first?” Rin asked.

“What about catering?” Sango said.

“I think I'll leave that job to Okaa-san. She offered to help.” Kagome informed them.

“That makes our job a little bit easier.” Sango said.

“I think after I call Okaa-san we should go look for a wedding dress and your bridesmaid's dresses, as well as the guy's suits.” Kagome smiled.

“I second Kagome's idea!” Rin raised her hand in the air.

“Hai!” Sango said.

“I'll call Okaa-san.” Kagome stood up to call her.

-------------------

How they managed to pull a wedding off in one month was a mystery to everyone. It took lots of late nights and arguments. Inuyasha was getting on Kagome's last nerve and she almost called off the wedding because of it. Not too mention she was ill for the last week or so.

Here she was in the chapel in her lovely Victorian styled wedding dress. It had sheer long white bell sleeves with patters of flowers. Her dress extended to the ground, around her chest was a corset, to tie in the Victorian style. Her veil was sheer white with knitted flowers near her hair, which was pulled back into a bun.

Kagome looked at herself in the mirror. It was one of the few times where she actually thought she looked nice. Sango and Rin beside her looked great! They were both wearing matching spaghetti strap yellow dresses, which stopped at their knees. Their hair was tied back in a bun and on their feet were two inch yellow heels.

“Nervous?” Rin teased Kagome.

“How can I not be?” Kagome asked.

“Don't worry, it gets better at the reception.” Rin said.

“Isn't it worse because you have to talk to everyone?” Sango asked.

“There aren't many guests. I'm sure Inuyasha will scare most of them away.” Rin said.

“The reception won't be too long.” Kagome said. “I wanted to keep the wedding short and sweet.”

“Your just eager for the honeymoon.” Rin smiled.

“Where are you going anyway?” Sango asked.

Kagome sighed and stepped away from the mirror. “Inuyasha won't tell me. He said it's a surprise.” Kagome began to walk towards the door when she felt a familiar wave of nausea. She put her hands on her stomach, hoping it would ease the pain.

“Kagome are you okay?” Sango asked as she walked over to her. Rin followed behind her.

“I'm fine, I just feel nauseous.” Kagome said. “Today of all days.”

“Kagome could you be...” Rin asked. “Could you be pregnant?”

“What?” Kagome said before she fell to the ground in a faint.

“I'll go get Sesshomaru and Miroku.” Sango said as she kicked off her heels and ran.

Rin nodded and rested Kagome's lap in her head. Of all the days for her to faint. If she had known Kagome was going to faint then she wouldn't have said anything. The last month was emotionally tiring for her.

---------

Sango ran down the hallway to the guy's dressing room. Luckily for her Sesshomaru and Miroku were sitting outside already in their suits. “Sango? Is something wrong?” Miroku asked.

“Kagome fainted.” Sango said.

Sesshomaru and Miroku both looked at each other. “Don't tell Inuyasha. Keep him busy.” Sesshomaru said. He followed Sango back to the girl's dressing room.

“What's with all the ruckus?” Inuyasha poked his head out through the door.

“Nothing. Sesshomaru had to use the restroom.” Miroku said. Inuyasha eyed him suspiciously before closing the door.

---------

Sesshomaru entered the room and saw Kagome on the ground with her head in Rin's lap. “What happened?” He asked.

“She started feeling nauseous and she has been for a while. I asked her if she was pregnant and she just fainted.” Rin said. “I didn't mean to shock her.”

“It's not your fault. She's been through a lot of stress lately.” Sesshomaru said.

“What are we going to do? The wedding starts in less than a half an hour.” Sango said.

“I suggest someone go get a pregnancy test. If she's not pregnant then she's ill and needs to be taken to a hospital.” Sesshomaru said.

“Right. I'll have Miroku drive me. There was a convenience store not too far from here.” Sango said. She ran out of the room.

“What about Inuyasha?” Rin asked.

Sesshomaru lifted Kagome from the ground and laid her down on the couch that was on the side of the room. “I'll keep him occupied. Get a cold washcloth and put it on her forehead. It may wake her faster. If she doesn't wake up in the next couple of minutes come get me.” Sesshomaru said. Rin nodded in understanding and he left the room.

He walked down the hall to sit down on the bench he was at earlier but Inuyasha prevented that. “What the hell is going on?” Inuyasha asked.

“What do you mean?” Sesshomaru asked.

“Sango came running over here yelling at Miroku to drive her somewhere.” Inuyasha said. “They took off without saying shit to me. What happened?”

“Nothing that I know if I assure you.” Sesshomaru said. “I think your nerves are rattled. Sit down and breathe.”

Inuyasha listened to his brother, having been through this situation before and not too long ago. He took a deep breath that somewhat calmed his nerves. Once he was fine he stood up and opened the door to the changing room. Shippo still needed help with his suit.

-------------------

Kagome opened her eyes. At first she could only see blurry images. When her eyes came into focus she saw four pairs of eyes looking at her. “Kagome are you okay?” Rin asked.

“Hai, I'm fine.” She mumbled. She sat up in panic. “The wedding!”

“It's okay!” Sango shouted. “It hasn't started and won't for another ten minutes or so.”

Kagome's hands went to her stomach, remembering why she had fainted in the first place. “Oh god.” She said.

“I think she's going to be sick!” Rin shouted and grabbed a bucket.

“No, I'm fine.” Kagome waved the bucket away. “I might be pregnant?”

“We bought you a test if you want to use it later.” Sango said. “I think it would be best to wait until the reception. You can wait until your changing. We have to make sure your dress isn't crinkled or anything.”

“I'm going to ruin my wedding day.” Kagome moaned. She stood up and adjusted her outfit.

“Your fine. The dress is perfect.” Rin said. She pulled the veil over Kagome's eyes.

They could hear the music echo through the hallways. “I guess that means it's starting.” Sesshomaru said. He and Miroku both left the room to join Inuyasha at front of the alter.

“What the hell were you guys doing?” Inuyasha asked.

“Just making sure everything was good to go.” Miroku said.

“Quiet, it's starting.” Sesshomaru said.

-------------------

The wedding was perfect. Things went on like nothing had happened. Everyone changed into something less formal for the reception. Inuyasha and Kagome would only stay for a couple hours since they had a flight leaving that night.

Kagome was now wearing a white casual sundress with three quarter sleeves. Rin and Sango were wearing similar outfits but theirs were yellow. Their hair was left down to keep matching each other.

The guys were all in black slacks and white shirts. It wasn't much of a difference from the black suits they had worn but it was less constricting. Shippo and Kohaku were sent to Myoga's house for the night. In the morning they would go to Kohaku's house, where Shippo would stay until the honeymoon was over.

“Congratulations!” Everyone held up their champagne glasses and cheered.

Kagome set down her glass and placed her hand on Inuyasha's. He, in return squeezed her hand. He wanted to get the hell out of there and on the plane. Three hours of talking to people was enough for him.

He stood to make address everyone. “As much as I'd like to stay here and party, my wife and I have a flight to catch. Your all welcome to stay.” Inuyasha said. His wife. For the first time in his life he was able to say it.

Everyone cheered another congratulations before seeing the couple out of the door. Kagome stood in front of the limousine with her bouquet. She threw it behind her head and turned around to see the women battle over the flower.

Kagome's aim was off and instead of landing where the women who wanted to catch the bouquet were it fell into Sango's arms. “You have got to be kidding me.” Sango said in shock.

“You know what that means.” Miroku smiled at her.

Kagome smiled at the happy couple before Inuyasha jerked her into the limo.

-------------------

Inuyasha and Kagome were both seated in their first class seats. Kagome leaned her head onto Inuyasha's arm as the plane took off. Once they were able to unbuckle their seatbelts Kagome turned to him.

“I have something to tell you.” She said as blush covered her cheeks.

“What?” Inuyasha asked.

“I'm pregnant.” Kagome said.

“You are?” Inuyasha asked.

“I took a test earlier. I still have to see a doctor but I'm pretty sure I am.” Kagome said. “It would explain the nausea.”

Inuyasha leaned down to capture her lips in a gentle kiss. “This is great!” He said.

“You don't mind having a family right away?” Kagome asked.

“Not if it's with you.” Inuyasha said. “I love you.”

Kagome smiled. “I love you too.” She said and leaned up to kiss him.

It's finally over. Sorry that it took me so long to update. I've been so out of it lately. I couldn't really think of how to end this fic. I didn't want to go into details of the wedding because I don't know much about American weddings. The ones I went to I had a migraine and don't remember much. The other one I went to was in Korea so they do things a lot different than here. Sorry to you San/Mir fans. I didn't have Miroku propose but the bouquet does give somewhat a hint. Sorry this chapter couldn't be more detailed. Hopefully it wasn't rushed or anything. I hated to go from one day to the wedding like I did in the beginning of the chapter but it needed to be done. I thought I'd make Kagome and Inuyasha's wedding day a little hectic because we all know not everything goes as planned and I don't know about you but I grew tired of the `Perfect' wedding. It may have gone perfect but it certainly didn't start that way. Sorry there's no lemon at the end. I wanted to end it sweet instead of lemony.

In the future there may be a chance for a couple of one shots or maybe a like a five chapter sequel or something but don't count on it. I can't guarantee anything right now. School is so hectic and I have other fics to work on right now.

To wrap this up I hope you liked Busy Lives. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. I had fun writing it! I think it had a good run. It did have 65 chapters. That's the longest fic I've ever written. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. Review! I'd like to know what you thought of the end!

Arigato!
