Busy Spring Break

 

Chapter 1

 

Reminiscing

 

Kagome could barely keep herself together. She was so excited to go to a beach house for Spring Break. Sure none of her friends were in school but Shippo was on break. Inuyasha had proposed the idea of their family, Sesshomaru's family, Sango, Miroku, and Kohaku to go to his and Sesshomaru's shared beach house. It was big enough for everyone to stay in. They all were excited to go of course.

 

“Are you packed yet?” Inuyasha yelled from outside their room. Shippo was running circles around him and Inume was crying.

 

“Almost!” Kagome shouted as she sat on her suitcase to shut it closed. She probably didn't need everything she had packed but better safe than sorry.

 

“You should've packed yesterday.” Inuyasha groaned. They were going to be late meeting everyone at the beach house.

 

“Who's fault was that?” Kagome said angrily.

 

“Yours.” Inuyasha chuckled. So maybe he had started it but he couldn't help it. After he had put Inume to bed and tucked Shippo in he walked in on her changing. Of course it didn't matter but she had just gotten her nightgown over her head. She ended up sleeping without it.

 

Kagome walked out of the room and tugged on his hair. “I can't carry my suitcase.” She said as she took Inume from him. She made funny faces, trying to cheer her up.

 

“Of course make me do it.” Inuyasha sighed.

 

“You're the man. You've got to be of some use.” Kagome teased. She began walking out of the door, Shippo behind her. “So get the bags will you?”

 

“You're going to get it for this!” Inuyasha shouted.

 

“Get going!” Shippo yelled.

 

“That's it runt! You won't live to see tomorrow!” Inuyasha said. He walked into the room to grab the bags.

“Oh come on you can't still be mad.” Kagome said as they parked at the beach house. “Your so immature.”

 

Inuyasha didn't say a word. He had to make at least four trips to the car and he was at the top floor! So of course he was a little mad. Not as much as he played it to be but he usually got some good thing out of acting like he was angry. “Keh.” He finally replied.

 

They all got out of the car and walked up the steps. Kagome was in awe. The place was huge. There was more than enough room for who was staying. It looked like a huge house, nothing like she thought it would be. “I thought you said this place was small.” Kagome said.

 

“It is.” Inuyasha replied before walking into the house. Everyone was in the front room sitting down.

 

“It's about time.” Sesshomaru said. “We've been waiting for an hour.”

 

“Blame Kagome.” Inuyasha said. “I'll bring the bags in later.”

 

“You missed the tour!” Rin jumped up when they finished talking. “Come on Sango let's show her!”

 

Rin practically dragged her to the next room. “It's been a while since we were here.” Sesshomaru said.

 

“Yeah, I forgot all about this place until Shippo said something about the beach.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Can we go?” Shippo asked.

 

“After everything is unpacked.” Inuyasha said. “I'm going to get the bags now.”

 

“Kohaku and Shippo are sharing a room and the younger ones are sharing another room. They're right next to each other and there's a baby monitor already in the young one's room.” Miroku informed him. He stood. “I'll help you.”

“This place is great!” Kagome exclaimed after she got the tour.

 

“This week is going to be fun!” Rin said. “No worries at all.”

 

“The only worry I have is buying a bathing suit. I didn't have time to buy one.” Sango said.

 

“Neither did I. Inuyasha said there was a great store close by.” Kagome informed them.

 

“Well how about we go after you unpacked? We can have the guys take the kids to the beach while we run to get them.” Rin suggested.

 

“Great idea!” Sango said.

 

“I should go help get the bags.” Kagome said. “I'll meet you downstairs when I'm finished.”

 

“Hai!” Rin and Sango said.

 

Kagome walked downstairs and found that Inuyasha had already brought all the bags in. “Oh I was just coming to help.” She said.

 

“You can't even carry them.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Fine, since I can't carry them I'll unpack them.” Kagome smiled. “Seem fair.”

 

“Doesn't matter. I was going to leave my stuff in the suitcase.” Inuyasha said as he began walking up the stairs.

 

“I'll unpack for you.” Kagome smiled. “We had an idea.”

 

“I don't have to do anything do I?” Inuyasha asked. “Last time you `had an idea' I had to paint, move stuff, and buy stuff.”

 

“That was for Inume.” Kagome giggled at the memory. They walked into their room and Inuyasha set the suitcases on the bed.

 

“Well we thought you guys could go take everyone to the beach while Sango, Rin, and I go buy bathing suits.” Kagome explained.

 

“Why can't I go?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“Because you have to take the kids.” Kagome said. “We won't be long.”

 

“That's not the point.” Inuyasha whined.

 

“You can see me in it afterwards! You don't need to be there and I'm not modeling it for you in the store! You punched a guy the last time and I was only trying on a dress!” Kagome raised her voice.

 

“His eye wasn't that bad.” Inuyasha smirked. “He deserved it anyway.”

 

“Please Inuyasha, just take them with the other guys.” Kagome sat next to him on the bed and grabbed his hand. She made the irresistible puppy face at him. “Onegai?”

 

“Fine, just quit with that!” Inuyasha jumped up off the bed. “You owe me for this.”

 

“You always say that.” Kagome sighed. She stood up and kissed him on the cheek. “Now get out so I can finish unpacking.”

 

“What about my swimsuit?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“Your wearing it under your pants remember? Here's a towel, you have all you need so go. Shippo will be excited so I suggest you take him early to tire him out.” Kagome said.

 

“Fine, fine.” Inuyasha rolled his eyes as he left the room.

“This is ridiculous!” Inuyasha shouted. “They've been gone for at least two hours!”

 

“Calm down, Inuyasha I'm sure they're on their way.” Sesshomaru said. He watched as Shippo and Kohaku played with other kids on the beach. Kei and Inume were sleeping in the portable playpen.

 

“Inuyasha is right. They are taking a long time.” Miroku turned his head. “Oh well they're finally here.”

 

Kagome, Rin, and Sango were all walking towards them wearing brand new summer dresses. It was easy to slip on over their bathing suits so they bought them at the store. They had taken longer than they intended but the stores were busy and crowded with other vacationers. They were laughing when they were within earshot of them.

 

“What took you guys so long?” Inuyasha asked as they sat down on the blanket.

 

“Other people shop too.” Kagome rolled her eyes. “We didn't mean to take that long. We spent a good twenty minutes looking for you guys.”

 

“I told you we should've went left.” Sango said.

 

“Hai, hai, we know Sango, we know.” Rin said. She pulled off her hat and kissed Sesshomaru on the cheek. “Having fun?”

 

“I don't like the beach you know that.” Sesshomaru sighed.

 

“I know.” Rin giggled. “How about we go swimming?”

 

“I'd prefer to sit here.” Sesshomaru said.

 

“I'll stay with you then. You guys can go, we'll watch the kids.” Rin smiled. “I don't like the water that much anyway.”

 

“Are you sure? We can switch later.” Kagome offered.

 

“I'm fine, I don't think I could get Sesshomaru to splash around in the water with me.” Rin giggled. “Wouldn't that be a sight to see though?”

 

Kagome giggled. “It would be. Thanks Rin. I guess we'll go in the water.” She grabbed a hair band to tie her hair in a ponytail. Then she stood up to remove her dress. She pulled it over her head revealing a red bathing suit. It looked like a tank top and short shorts.

 

Sango and Rin also took their dresses off revealing the same style bathing suits, only Rin's was white and Sango's was dark purple. They turned to the guys, well excluding Sesshomaru, who had disappointed looks on their faces.

 

“What? You expect us to wear something more revealing? We do have kids you know.” Kagome laughed. “Well except Sango.”

 

“That could very well change soon enough.” Miroku looked at Sango, hinting.

 

“Not with that hentai mind of yours.” Sango rolled her eyes while everyone laughed.

Later that night everyone was sitting around a big bonfire. They were just resting after eating the barbeque that the guys cooked. Of course the girls got stuck with the dishes. Kohaku and Shippo were playing their handheld video games. Inume was currently hitting Inuyasha in the head with a rattle and Kei was pulling on Sesshomaru's long hair.

 

Miroku chuckled at seeing the babies beat up their fathers. “Oh how everyone's changed.” He said in an amused tone.

 

“What do you mean?” Rin asked.

 

“Well Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are both letting their own children abuse them. If it were anyone else's children Inuyasha would snap at the child and Sesshomaru would give them an icy glare thus scaring the children. Now they have smiles as they are going through the abuse.” Miroku explained.

 

“I'm not going to be cold to my own child.” Sesshomaru said. He grunted as Kei pulled harder than usual on his hair. `What strength he has.' He thought as he visibly smiled at his son.

 

“See he just smiled.” Miroku laughed. “He's never openly done that before! Except in front of Rin but I'm sure she's an exception.”

 

“Of course, I don't hide anything from my wife.” Sesshomaru looked at Miroku.

 

“A couple years ago and no one would've thought you'd even think of getting a girlfriend.” Inuyasha laughed.

 

“Same goes for you baka!” Sesshomaru glared at him. “I never expected to meet Rin.”

 

“Wait, didn't you hate Kagome when you first met her?” Rin asked.

 

“It was the other way around.” Inuyasha said. “She hated me.”

 

“You were so irritating! Harassing me at both my jobs!” Kagome huffed and took a sip of her drink. “I only went out with you because you saved me from those perverts. Although you forcibly put me in your car numerous times!”

 

“Admit it I was charming.” Inuyasha smiled.

 

Kagome spit out her drink and almost fell over laughing. Everyone else joined her. “I was repaying what I owed. I don't like being dependant on others. You know that.” Kagome said when she could talk.

 

“Keh, it doesn't matter you love me now. Either way your stuck with me `til death do we part'.” Inuyasha reminded.

 

“I'm well aware of what the priest said.” Kagome rolled her eyes. She looked at both Kohaku and Shippo who were starting to nod off in the middle of their games. “I think its time for the kids to go to sleep though.”

 

“No, we want to play more.” Kohaku and Shippo both said in monotone voices and without removing their eyes from the game screen. “Let us play.”

 

“I don't think so.” Kagome stood up. She took Inume from Inuyasha and pulled the game away from Shippo. “Let's go. You'll have more time to play tomorrow.”

 

“Hai.” They both said and stood up, slowly walking towards the house.

 

“I'll put them to bed.” Kagome said.

 

“Sango and I will help.” Rin said as she took Kei from Sesshomaru. Sango stood and followed them into the house.

 

After they left the guys sat in silence looking at the fire. “We really have changed haven't we?” Inuyasha sighed.

 

“Women have their ways of doing that.” Sesshomaru said. “Even we are powerless against the ones we love.”

 

“True.” Miroku sighed then smiled. “It's worth it though. I'll be getting married soon and hopefully we'll have little ones of our own.”

 

“I already had a kid before Kagome.” Inuyasha said. “Damn Shippo always interrupting.”

 

“It didn't stop you from having Inume though.” Sesshomaru commented.

 

“Well look at the cold Sesshomaru with wife and son.” Inuyasha chuckled. “There will probably more on the way, especially with Rin the way she is.”

 

“I don't doubt that.” Sesshomaru smiled to himself. He wouldn't mind.

 

The guys were all smiling, remembering the times when they first got involved with their girlfriends. The girls walked out looking at them. “What are you guys thinking of?” Rin asked. The girls took their seats.

 

“The past.” The guys answered.

A little chapter for Busy Lives. I'm on Spring Break starting Monday and Katgirl222 gave me the idea so all credit goes to her! Thanks! I may make this a couple of chapters since I have a whole week of break but it depends on whether or not I feel better, how many people want it, and if my writer's block clears up or not. I've had a migraine for about three days now and can't think of anything other than killing the loud noisemakers. Hope you like it! Let me know what you think!
