Homecoming
Growing up without InuYasha around almost seemed unbearable. The next day after he left all the kids were asking where he was. Kagome never answered, she honestly had no clue. Hojo kept asking her to be with him but she kept denying him, she just did not have the heart to simply because she still cared for InuYasha. She just simply grew up focusing on grades and hardly played with the other children. She went on like this all the way to high school; she made outstanding grades and was very academically active. She till wore the hair clip InuYasha gave her so long ago and often thought of him. “I wonder what he's doing right now,” she often thought to herself, and then she would sigh and go back to her school work.

A figure stood on a hill looking onto the city with searching eyes, as if it was looking for something in that far of a distance. It would sneak into the city late at night to Kagome's house, sit on a branch, and look into her window watching her sleep. This figure had been fighting off enemies from distant lands to search for its greatest enemy, the one what killed without mercy. Sensing that this enemy was nowhere to be found, the figure decided to go to the city to make an appearance in the daylight. To return to what it left and had every intention to get it back.

“Hey Kagome!” a voice yelled at her, she turned seeing it was one of the girls she would hang out with when she wanted to be social and keep her mind off school work.
“Oh hey,” she said with a soft smile.
“Hey, I was wondering if you were going to Hojo's party tonight?” the girl asked.
“No,” she replied shaking her head. “I have a big test to study for.”
“Aw come on, he is expecting you there.” Again Kagome shook her head.
“I appreciate it, but I really have to study.” The girl sighed telling her goodbye and walked off. Kagome thought that was the end of it but she heard a voice she just did not want to hear today.
“Hey there Kagome,” it was Hojo.
“Hey Hojo,” she mumbled after closing her locker door and walking to her next class.
“So I'm going to see you at the party tonight right?” he asked.
“Sorry Hojo, can't,” she replied.
“Aw why not? I really want you to be there,” he told her.
“Why? So you can try your way to seduce me to be your girlfriend?” she asked.
“You make it sound like I'm doing something bad,” he said, to which she stopped walking to look at him.
“Hojo, you've been doing this since we were in kindergarten, now will you please take a hint and leave me alone?” she was about to leave when he grabbed hold of her arm.
“I'm not done with you yet,” he sneered at her.
“Hojo let go of me!” she yelled. Before he uttered a word out an explosion erupted from the ceiling causing the students to panic. Out of the smoke, a figure slowly roused up. The students watched as the smoke completely cleared reviling an all red figure with long silver hair stand right in front of Hojo and Kagome.
“That looks like…no, it can't be!” Kagome thought. The figure took a step forward showing its face and Kagome couldn't believe her eyes: it was him, it was InuYasha. He stood a lot taller than Kagome, even taller then Hojo. His silver was longer than before and his puppy ears grew a little bit bigger as well. Sharp golden eyes stared at the two with such intensity Kagome wanted to look away but she just couldn't. He cracked his knuckles slowly staring at Hojo more then he did to Kagome.
“If you value your life, I suggest you let go of her now,” a gruffly low voice came out of his mouth. Hojo panicked letting go of her arm shaking like he was cold. He remembered who he was as well, and was afraid what he might do. InuYasha smirked stepping closer to them, grabbing hold of Kagome bridal style, and leaped out the hole in the ceiling where he came from. They had a lot of catching up to do. The students looked up at the ceiling then back at Hojo who was still shaking, before finally passing out. Kagome clung to InuYasha with eyes shut closed, fearing that she was going to fall. Finally she felt that they had stopped and opened her eyes to see that they were on a hill looking out into the city. InuYasha placed her on her feet slowly as she turned seeing the taller, older, more attractive person she liked so long ago.
“Is…is it really you InuYasha?” she asked almost losing the will to speak. He chuckled and nodded.
“Yea, it's me,” he replied. She nodded slowly taking in what was in front of her. Then she looked around on where they were.
“Where are we?” she asked.
“We're outside the city limits, this is sort of a way to where I have been all this time,” he told her.
“Where have you been all this time?” she asked him.
“Back to my native land, trying to find the bastard who killed my mother,” he said clinching his fists slightly but let go of the grip and sighed. “Sadly I have not yet found him.” He took her hand softly as they sat under the tree in the shade. He noticed a piece of garment in her hair then smiled.
“You wore the hair slip I gave you,” he said. She blushed nodding.
“Never really took it from my hair,” she said with a small laugh, she paused feeling her long claw fingers running through her hair softly.
“It looks good in your hair,” he said softly. She smiled but then a realization hit her.
“Oh my God! You took me from school! I'm going to late for my classes!” she yelled getting up but he grabbed her by the waist and took her back down.
“What's missing a few classes going to do? Come on we've been apart for a long time, can we catch up?” he asked. She looked at him and saw something she saw a little bit before but not this intense, he had so much emotion behind them. She sighed and smiled and agreed. He suddenly took her in his arms, giving her the deepest embrace she had ever experienced.
“You have no idea how long I've wanted to hear your sweet voice again,” he said as he nuzzled in her hair. She was so shocked at the sudden affection, but he felt so warm she could help but melt in his arms. He smiled to himself as he held her; he finally had his Kagome back in his life.
