Chapter 3: Bonding of Fire (It may change later on)
Inuyasha had made it to his cave in a few moments time with the meat and some fuel for a fire. Raw meat was not something he particularly liked. He dropped the meat on a large, flat slab of rock and bent down to the ground. After gathering enough stones and clearing a small area flat, he set the stones in place and created a fire pit. He may have been demon, but he wasn't careless. Placing the fuel, then tinder, and kindling into the fire pit, he took a soft-ball sized stone and lightly backhanded it, scraping his claws across the surface. The sparks danced frivolously around and landed on the wood, and instantly caught. A small flame jumped up and caught the rest of the fuel, as the smoke curled up and drifted out of the cave.
Inuyasha smelt the smoke and was content until he noticed the air was still thick with the suffocating smell of blood. He looked at himself, observing that the blood was still fresh and staining his clothes, and clotting in his hair. He was about to walk back outside to the closest water source when an idea struck him. Walking deeper into the cave, he tried blocking out the heavy scent of blood and sniffed around. He smiled to show his lengthened fangs as the clear yet subtle scent of water wafted into his nostrils. After getting a non-needed ego-booster, he strutted around in the soft darkness until he made it to a small hot-spring. The steam trailed up into the sky from small holes in the ceiling of the cave. So that was why he couldn't smell the water source from the beginning. He smirked. Heh, clever dead demon. He had drilled in the holes for that exact purpose, as so other demons and youkai would not come to battle him for his home. Inuyasha grinned as his ego gained another unneeded boost.
Inuyasha instantly ridded himself of his clothes and pulled his two shirts (A/N: Still dunno what the clothing is. Bare with me people. Sorry if it's an inconvenience for anyone. ^_^;) with him at he lowered himself into the soothing spring. He flopped the shirts over the side of the pool-edge rock, making sure the areas that contained blood were soaking in the warm water. He sank lower into the liquid and began stroking his hair, clearing it of drying, clotted blood.
After he felt if he had been soaking long enough, and that the smell of the fire had died down to that of glowing coals, he got out and shook himself dry. For decency's sake, he pulled on his pants and walked back to the fire. He dumped some more fuel for the fire and it roared back to life. Inuyasha took the piece of meat off of the large rock slab and began to cut it into smaller pieces with his claws. He would have rather just chucked the whole thing on the fire and then ate it that way, but he happened to glance at a sleeping Kagome, taking in her delicate features. There was no way he could picture her eating that way. So for her sake, and her sake only, he decided to cut the meat.
Once done cutting the meat into small pieces, he placed a few on a triangular, thin slab of rock and placed it over the fire pit, balancing it on the ring of rocks. He threw the other pieces back onto the larger slab.
He sat back on one side of the fire, so he could watch Kagome sleep. She was very beautiful asleep, and the fire cast and angle of light upon her body so she looked as though she were a goddess. Inuyasha smiled as knowing that she was all his. At least soon to be. He would make sure she wouldn't leave him. He knew that she was fond of him. Very fond. But just to be sure, he had to keep her here, away from anyone who may interfere.
The smell of cooking meat entered his sensitive nostrils and his stomach growled impatiently. His crossed his arms angrily. No way was he waiting for his bitch to wake up for him. He was hungry. He WAS going to eat. NOW.
With his stomach still whining at him, he got up and crossed around the fire pit and sat down next to his sleeping Kagome. He grabbed her by the shirt and began to slightly shake her awake.
"Huh? Wha…?" Kagome roused slowly, thinking she was just in a bad dream. As she opened her eyes to see that of Demon Inuyasha's red ones, she quickly shut hers and jumped back. Inuyasha hadn't let go of her shirt, thus ripping a hole in it, revealing her exposed chest and bra. Inuyasha stared her hungrily, but Kagome covered herself with her hands and screamed.
`Please let this be a dream. A really BAD dream. Oh please oh please oh please. C'mon Kagome, wake up girl! This is only a nightmare. Once you'll wake up you'll wake up in Feudal Japan with Sango and Miroku and Shippo and be in Inuyasha's arms…' Kagome snapped her eyes open as she felt Inuyasha pull her onto his lap. `Dammit… this is no dream… not even a nightmare!' Kagome thought desperately. She suddenly blushed as she noticed Inuyasha was shirtless and that he had dipped his head over her shoulder and began to sniff at her and lick her neck. She shuddered from the pleasurable feeling and Inuyasha smiled triumphantly, feeling the heat radiate off of her face and a slight scent of arousal waft off of her. As he dipped his head lower, he suddenly caught another scent on her. He turned her around so he faced her and took her hands away from her body.
She blushed furiously and screamed, "Stop that you pervert! Stop! I said stop it!" But Inuyasha paid no heed to her futile cries. He held her hands to her sides and began to sniff down her body. He got down to her stomach-area and the scent was the strongest it could be. And it was the scent of… another male?!?! He sniffed at her again, his grip getting a little harder on her wrists and suddenly he recognized the scent.
"THE FOX KITSUNE!!!!!" He roared, staring at the spot where he could smell the young youkai and his grip tightened so much that he nearly broke Kagome's wrists. She screamed out in pain and tried to wriggle away. Her scream startled Inuyasha so that he let go of her and flattened his ears to his head. She whimpered and backed away into the wall of the cave, massaging her wrists and covering herself again. Tears welled in her eyes and slowly fell down her cheeks, as Inuyasha's claws had cut small incisions into her skin, making it bleed.
Kagome's salty tears harassed Inuyasha's nose and he crawled over to her. Well, maybe now she knew who the dominant one was, but he didn't want to scare her into realizing that. There would be no way she would mate with him on her own free accord. He growled in frustration but that only caused Kagome's scent to rise higher into that of fear and he quieted down slowly. He leaned against the wall and pulled her shivering form onto his lap again. She shuddered harder in fear. Inuyasha softly growled in frustration again.
"I told you not to be afraid of me." He growled, with a tone of agitation. He stroked her face gently, taking care not to scratch her with his claws. He also began rubbing her stomach, making sure to cover up the stupid kitsune's scent with his own. After a few moments she calmed down, but Inuyasha could still clearly smell her fear. His stomach growled impatiently, reminding him how hungry he was. He thought of something. `Jeeze… how… degrading this is going to be…' He thought.
"Are you hungry?" He asked in a near whisper. Kagome stopped shivering and her heart beat sped up.
"Wha-what?" She gasped.
"I said `are you hungry,' bitch," He growled, looking away. Kagome was silent and kept throwing glances at him, afraid to look him straight in the eyes. He glanced back at her, catching her eyes. Confusion was clearly shown in them. He raised his eyebrows, silently commanding her to answer him.
"Why, y-yes I-I am… Inuyasha." She whispered, barely audible, but clear enough in Inuyasha's ears.
"Good. The meat's done." He growled, shoving her off of him as he got up and walked over to the cooking meat. He reached out to grab the slab (A/N: Ah, so the stupidity stays in both forms, eh?) and pull it away, but even in his demon form the heat was too intense and as he shoved the slab and meat onto the ground and snarled in pain. Kagome rushed over to him.
"Well that was stupid." She said, momentarily forgetting he was a full-fledged demon.
"Watch who you are calling stupid, bitch!" Inuyasha roared at her. She cowered away in fear, but caught sight of his burned hand.
"You… you should b-bind that up…" She mumbled, looking away. Inuyasha glared at her.
"It will heal."
"But you still should clean it up."
"I said it will heal."
"But still-"
"IT WILL HEAL!!!" Inuyasha finally roared at her, causing her to shudder and begin to cry. Kagome crawled back to the "bed," curled into a small ball and began to sob. Inuyasha stared at her.
`Nice going idiot. Now she'll never want to mate with you when the time comes.'
Inuyasha cursed himself under his breath and attempted to crawl over to his crying bitch. He seethed in pain from his hand and walked over to her instead. Sitting down next to her, he reached out his good hand to her. Seeing her cringe from his touch, he drew his hand back, but soon returned it to her back and lightly rubbed it. Kagome actually believed it was because he wanted to soothe her. He was just doing it to get more of his scent rubbed off on her. The stronger his scent, the less likely any other demons would come around and try to steal her away. Then again, there was a way to eternally rub his scent off on her, but he wouldn't take that measure just yet.
After Kagome had calmed down enough, Inuyasha sighed at himself for degrading himself so much for this girl, but he thrust his burnt hand out to her and growled, "Clean it up if you want." She looked up at him with watery eyes.
"I was only suggesting it to-to help you." She sniffed.
"Do you want to heal it or not?!" He snarled, staring into her teary blue eyes with his deep red ones.
"I-I-I… ok," She finished lamely. Looking down, she got and walked over to her bag. After getting out the first-aid kit she brought along, she walked back over to demon-Inuyasha, still casting her eyes down. She kneeled before the demon (giving him a very nice view down her exposed chest) and gently took his hand and set it on her lap.
Inuyasha hissed in pain.
"I'm sorry." Kagome whispered, stopping instantly.
"Keh. You believe I am hurt by such a thing. Such a bitch of mine will need to learn to be smarter," Inuyasha said in a haughty tone. Kagome fell silent and got to work to distract herself.
She squeezed some anti-burn ointment onto his hand and began to rub it gently into his skin. The cool gel soothed his burning skin and Inuyasha enjoyed the feeling of Kagome's hand rubbing his own.
He began to purr.
Kagome looked up in shock.
Inuyasha's eyes were closed in contentment and a genuine smile played at his lips. The rumbling from his chest somehow calmed her a little. She blushed from some unknown feeling in her chest and sat staring at his hand. It had already begun to heal, but just a bit. A small smile crept onto her lips, as she realized she affected Inuyasha even in his Demon form. That meant he truly loved her for her, and not Kikyo, right?
Meanwhile, Inuyasha had noticed the stall in the massage, stopped purring and opened his eyes a slit. He smirked at the great view, but frowned when he noticed his stomach growling at him. He waited impatiently for Kagome to cover the hand in unneeded bandages and then turned to the fire and grabbed the now-warm meat from the small slab. He took the slab and placed it at the side of the "bed." He growled and stared at his hand. He was barely able to move it without breaking the bonds. He'd seen how Kagome's face lit up when she finished after taking forever to put the damn binding on in the first place. Besides, he was beginning to think it nostril's were now permanently damaged from being bombarded with the scent of Kagome's tears.
"How am I supposed to move with this damn thing on?" He sneered at it, trying to flex his knuckles, but only resulting in ripping the bonds a little. Kagome just stared at him. He raised his eyebrows.
"Answer me!"
"Th-They're a bandage… it keeps the ointment on and protects it from infection. It'll only be for a short while." She stuttered softly, looking away.
"I do not need such a thing." He was going to snap them off with a quick flick of his hand, but he could smell the salt building in her eyes and stopped. He rolled his eyes angrily and snapped, "Eat. I didn't catch this meat for nothing. And it is unceremonious to eat a meal in your place of rest." He got up and went over to lean on a boulder nearer to the fire.
Kagome stared at him. He caught the meat… not just for himself? Kagome's heart sped up. `He was actually thinking about me and not just himself… could this mean he really does have feelings for me… even in his demon form?' Kagome suddenly became aware of eyes on her and looked up to see Inuyasha staring at her. Well, not exactly her as much as her chest. A deep blush ran up her cheeks and she held up her arms to cover herself up. She got up and walked over to her bag to take out a jacket to conceal herself for the time being and then walked over to the other side of the fire from Inuyasha to eat.
Inuyasha glanced at her as she began to nibble on the meat. `Why does she wish to conceal herself from me? And why does she sit so far away? Is she still doubtful? Argh… she will have to learn not to fear me OR doubt me!' Inuyasha thought angrily. That was one thing that bugged him. He wasn't that patient, and he didn't want to be anymore than he had to, to know Kagome was entirely faithful to him.
"Woman." Kagome looked up knowing she was the only one he would be talking to. "Come here." She did as told, more so out of fear than anything else. After she sat down next to him, but far enough away so he could not touch her, he asked her "Why are you afraid of me?"
Kagome stared at him. He obviously did not think it was such an emotional question. She was sure he didn't mean it that way, but she was afraid of him both physically and emotionally. It was obvious that she was afraid of his demon strength… but she was also afraid of him leaving her. She wasn't entirely sure that he loved her. He could still love her just because she looks like Kikyo or is her reincarnation. Kagome knew she loved Inuyasha completely, but she was afraid of getting hurt. Her heart was pulled in two different directions: that of not caring if Inuyasha loved her for Kikyo, or that of turning her back on him and shutting herself off from him. Kagome didn't want either to happen. She wanted to love Inuyasha knowing that he loved her for her, and no one else.
"I don't want to be hurt, Inuyasha," Kagome replied sadly, once she was finished with her `meal.' She got up and slowly walked over to the `bed,' lay down, and curled into a ball to go to sleep. Inuyasha watched her in silent confusion, not understanding both meanings of that statement. He turned his head and looked out of the mouth of the cave to the bleeding sky as the sun drifted into the horizon.

Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara had made it to the village at the bottom of the mountain by nightfall. They needed a place to stay, and Miroku pulled his "oh I sense a dark ominous cloud resting upon this place" routine. The problem was, was that the Inn was packed from weary travelers, and there was only one room available. Meaning there was only one bed.
"There is NO WAY I am going to share this bed with you, Houshi!" Sango cried, glaring the monk deeply in the face. He looked at her calmly and folded his arms over his staff.
He closed his eyes and stated simply, "I see no reason not to." Sango blushed a deep red and knocked him on the head, causing him to fall to the floor.
"You're a pervert!!! That's why! You'd probably molest me in my sleep or something!" Sango cried out. Miroku rubbed his head where Sango had hit him and suddenly sat up to his knees and drew her into a great hug.
"Oh why do you think such things of me Sango?!" He `cried,' burying his head into Sango's chest and letting his hand slide down to her backside. Sango stiffened from his touch and sudden actions, and it took her a while to register what exactly he was doing. Shippo was already cowering in the corner with Kirara, expecting the worst. Kirara was covering Shippo's ears with her tails… knowing exactly what was going to happen…
Now, if you had been on the other side of town, you would have thought a demon had begun to attack someone in the Inn, as a sudden roar of curses bellowed from the place, as the sounds of crashing and delicate things breaking, along with the slightly muffled sounds of "ow! Ow! I'm sorry Sango! I couldn't help it- ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" The Innkeeper himself was wondering if the monk would be alright from whatever `demon' he was dealing with.

Alright, I know that ending of Sango and Miroku was REALLY crappy and short, but I wanted to finished the chapter for you guys so you wouldn't die… And Sesshy will come in later… (I'm still trying to work a way to put him in the story… eheh… I've got an idea, but I'm still wondering if its too corny…) ah! Anyways, Think of this as a Christmas present for all your wonderful reviews! Thanks again, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!
