"DAMN IT! KAGOME!" Inuyasha yelled, waving his fists in the air as he stood looking down into the well. "You wench! You better be back soon or am coming after you." He growled, lowering his voice. Sango and Miroku just watched from a 'safe' distance not wanting to give Inuyasha's rage a physical focus; however, Shippo in the innocents of youth could not hold his tongue.

"Inuyasha, why did you chase Kagome off like that? It wasn't very nice! She was hurt and all you did was jump down her throat, I sure hope she comes back." The little fox youkai said, hopping up onto the edge of the well. Inuyasha gritted his teeth, glared daggers at the child, and snatched him up by the nap of his neck. "Inuyasha! Let me go! All I said was the truth, you shouldn't be so sensitive." The kitsune said his voice wavering while Inuyasha shook him violently. Once Inuyasha felt he had punished Shippo enough he threw him in the direction of Sango and Miroku. Without flinching, Miroku put up his right hand and calmly caught Shippo in mid-air and placed him on his shoulder. Shippo rubbed both sides of his head as he attempted to gain his balance.

"Now, Inuyasha, taking your problems out on Shippo will help nothing. Perhaps, if you didn't let your temper overcome you so much, Kagome would not have run off. It's obvious something happened with Sesshomaru that she is too embraced to tell us about and screaming at her will help nothing." Miroku said calmly trying to bring Inuyasha out of his state of rage.

"Monk, I suggest you and Sango take the runt and leave. I am in no mood for your council." Inuyasha snapped, slumping to the ground, his back against the well. 'I'll wait right here for you, Kagome.' Inuyasha thought as he sighed. Miroku, Sango, and Shippo now had their backs turned to him as they walked off into the distance. 'Maybe I should have been slightly more compassionate, she has been through something traumatic.... NO! She should have just told me what happened. She has no reason not to tell.... Unless she wants to hide from me, fuck Sesshomaru what the hell did you do to her?' Inuyasha closed his eyes and placed his arms in the sleeves of his kimono.

Night had fallen and the stars twinkled brilliantly in the sky, Kagome gazed in wonder at the glowing orbs as she slid the door to her family's home shut. "Kagome, do you really have to go already? You just got back." Sota asked as he played with the cat in front of the well house. Kagome swung her heavy yellow backpack over her shoulders and tried to smile, she wanted to stay but she felt so guilty running off when Inuyasha was only trying to ask her what happened. She spent the afternoon cleansing herself in a hot bath and resting, it was nice to feel clean and have on fresh clothes.

"Yes, I must go back. Inuyasha is probably waiting for me." Kagome answered. Sota's face brightened at the sound of the name of his hero.

"Ok, well could you tell Inuyasha that I said hello and...um... you should bring him back with you the next time you come home." Sota suggested, he admired Inuyasha so much despite Kagome constantly speaking ill of him. Kagome smiled at her little brother and nodded, it was cute that he had a hero. Kagome walked away from Sota and entered the Well House, 'okay Inuyasha, ready or not here I come.' she thought as she jumped down the well. Passing through the violet light Kagome found herself at the bottom of the Bone Eater's Well in the Feudal Era. She jumped up and grabbed on to roots and vines and began to climb up out of the well. As she reached for the top of the well she felt a hand grab around her wrist and lift her up.

Inuyasha held her up to eye level and tried desperately not to glare at her, he bit his bottom lip as he set Kagome on the ground next to the well. Kagome rubbed her wrist and nodded at Inuyasha in thanks for helping her out of the well. "So have you been here this whole time waiting for me?" She asked, knowing fully well that he did. Inuyasha grunted to signify yes as he turned his back to her. "I'm sorry for that si...I mean I'm sorry for running off." She quickly changed her sentence to prevent her from using the command that activated the prayer beads.

Inuyasha growled again and mumbled, "sorry for yelling at you" in almost an inaudible tone. Kagome's face took on a look of shook, 'did he just apologize?' she wondered.

"What did you say, Inuyasha?" She asked stunned. Inuyasha spun around, his amber eyes looking deeply into her pale blue eyes.

"You heard me. Now is there anything you want to tell me?" He spoke soft and slowly trying not to raise his voice and scare her off again. Kagome blushed and began to fidget with her hands she had no idea where to begin, she did not want to upset him but at the same time she knew she had to tell him everything. Inuyasha studied the miko as she began to look uneasy it was obvious something was wrong.

"Inuyasha, I don't know exactly what happened...in that cave. I was paralyzed, you know I just couldn't move. And Sesshomaru he was on top of me...touching me...and..." Kagome's voice trembled as it trailed off. Something inside Inuyasha's heart tamed his rage as he threw his arms around Kagome and pulled her flesh against him, her head burying itself against his red kimono.

He stroked her long raven hair and whispered to her, "You...you don't have to finish if you don't want to...I don't want to force you. And I am really sorry about yelling at you. Nothing that happened in that cave is your fault. I just want you to know that Sesshomaru will pay for this, your honor will be restored!" He said rubbing his face on the top of her head.

Kagome shoot her eyes wide open, "Restore my honor? What do you think happened?" She said, almost yelling as she pushed herself away from Inuyasha's embrace. Inuyasha looked around almost confused; did she not want him to protect her? "My 'honor' wasn't touched! You know you should really stop jumping to conclusions!" Kagome said sternly. Inuyasha's jaw dropped, he had no idea what was going on.

"Kagome, I just meant that whatever did happen I will fix it by killing Sesshomaru." He said trying to sidestep whatever he said to offend her. This only added fire to Kagome's furry.

"You think you can just wave your big sword around and 'fix' things. Well, let me tell you something, some situations require words and sensitivity not violence and bloodshed. Like earlier today, I really could have used my best friend, not Inuyasha 'the big mean demon warrior'!" She snapped, then turned to walk away.

"What the hell? I just apologized for that and you are still going to bring it up. I swear humans just can't be pleased!" Inuyasha scoffed back.

Still walking towards Lady Kaede's village Kagome screamed back, "You know 'sorry' doesn't fix everything!"

"Wench, I don't understand! You say I can't fix things with actions and now words can't make things right. You are nuts!" He yelled.

"MY NAME IS KAGOME! NOT WENCH! THAT MIGHT START YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! NOW SIT BOY!" Kagome shrieked her voice echoing throughout the forest down to the village.
