Chapter 3- Cold heart, furry tail
"So... Kouga... do- do wolf demons... chase their tails?" Melataru asked meekly as she looked at Kouga, a blush once again reddining her face. Kouga looked at her as though she had two heads, which at some point she may have. "Nooo..." Kouga said, as though Melataru were stupid, which she was, oh so stupid. "I always thought that, if I had a tail, I'd chase it..." Melataru said happily, her ears twitching. Kouga sweatdropped, "Kay, why dont you go far away and chase your tail then?" Melataru smirked, "No way mister! Im not THAT stupid. I see only one tail around here, and it's yours!" Saying so, Melataru dove for Kouga's tail, but the wolf demon was to fast for Melataru and dodged her rapid glompage. "What the hell?!" Kouga yelled, looking at Mel who was sniffling on the ground.
Squall sighed, Su was talking his ear off. "So, Squally, you should meet my friend, Melataru, she's odd. I think she lacks in brain capacity... Hey, do you know what we were talking about?" Squall cocked an eyebrow at her, "Melataru." Su lit up like a lightbulb, "I know her! She's my best friend! How do you know her? Are you having a fling with her?" Squall sighed in exasporation, "No, I just heard about her from an annoying girl that seems to follow me." Su grimaced, "Who would follow you around if it's obvious you didnt want them to?" Squall remained silent, so Su took the liberty off talking some more! "So, Squally, you got a girlfriend? I bet you dont, your to cold for love!" Getting a determined look on her face Su grabbed Squalls shoulders and shouted, "TO EVERYONE AT THE FESTIVAL TONIGHT I DECLARE THAT I WILL FREEZE THIS MANS COLD HEART AND MAKE HIM FEEL LOVE!!!" Squall tried to squirm away and yelled, "shut up! I'm not cold, I just dont want to talk to you!" Su whimpered as tears came to her eyes and she ran off. Squall looked at Su and sighed. Shaking his head, he took off to find her.
Kouga looked at Melataru who was now crying full force on the ground. Shifting uncomfortabley he asked in the nicest voice he could muster, "Hey, um, what's wrong?"
Su was crying by a lake when Squall approached and told her not to cry. She turned to him just as Mel turned to Kouga.
Both girls yelled in unison, "YOU HATE ME!"
Kouga blinked, "Oh, is that all?" Melataru began crying harder. Kouga bent down to her level, "Hey, I was just kidding... sorry." Melataru looked up and wiped away her tears. "C- can I pet your tail?" Kouga face faulted, "Why?" Melataru smirked, "I have my reasons... PWEASE?!" Kouga sighed and turned so Melataru could pet his tail. Melataru squealed in delight, much like her aunt Ruth in the presence of food and started petting Kouga's tail. Kouga's leg twitched a little, and started getting faster as she pet him. Kouga saw this and grabbed his leg, trying to keep it from shaking, but alas, it wanted to twitch! Kouga fell over, his leg kicking the air and a goofy smile plastered on his face. (A/N: Come on, you've all wanted to know what he'd do if you pet his tail!) Melataru laughed and pet harder, causing the oh so twitchy leg to become frenzied and blurred. His leg was going so fast, you couldnt even see it.
Squall sighed, "I dont hate you." Seeing Su shivering from the cold, he took off his jacket and drapped it over her shoulders. Su looked up in wonder. "Huh? Why are you letting me use your jacket?" Squall looked away, "Just because you look so pathetic." Saying so, Squall sat down beside her. Su smiled, "Thanks." Squall scoffed, "Whatever." Squall became quiet and watched the surface of the lake. Su leaned her head on Squall's shoulder and snuggled closer to him. Squall blushed and looked away so Su wouldnt see, but Su knew, she knew... She always does. BUMBUM BUM!
Kouga laughed as Melataru became adventurous and started tickling Kouga's sides. "s- stop... it!" He chocked out as Melataru laughed at the goofy, not to smart wolf prince. "But your so funny!" She replied as she used one hand to pet his tail and the other to tickle his side. When he rolled up into a ball preventing Melataru from tickling his sides, Mel sat on him and used both hands to get to his sides. After a few minutes, both wolf demons collapsed in a fit of laughter. This is when Melataru noticed she was laying on Kouga in a very intimate position. Her head rested on his chest and she lay between his legs. Both blushed and hopped up, muttering nonsense trying to excuse their behavior. Kouga stopped mumbling and looked at Melataru, his blush getting darker. Unknown to the two wolves, two pairs of eyes watched from the bushes. Ginta nudged Hakaku, "Hey, that's not Kagome OR ayame... Kouga sure moves fast." Hakaku had a blank face, "Well, duh, he's got jewel shards." Ginta whacked him on the back of the heqad, causing the poor stupid underling to fall from the bushes, pulling GInta with him. Koua looked over at the two, his eye twitching. "What're you two doin' here?" Both doomed idiots mumbled, and in the end tried running away, but Kouga tied them up and threw them downstream (A/N: Just kidding! But wouldnt it be nice? *'wouldnt it be nice' begins to play in back ground* DAMNIT! THAT DAMN STALKING RADIO!) Melataru looked at Ginta and Hakaku and made a big show of pretending to puke at their ugly faces.
