Change, the Only Constant
A/N This is the first story I have ever written that will be seen by people other than my brother and myself. Criticism is welcome because it will hopefully help me improve; I'll take compliments too. I apologize now for any bad spelling, I have no excuse except that just can't spell.
Disclaimer: I do not, and probably never will, own Inuyasha. There I said it are you happy? glances to side and see some satisfied looking lawyers.

'Glad that's over. Still I suppose it could be worse.'
“Hey Kagome did you hear we're starting archery in gym today?”
'It just got worse.' Kagome thought as she turned to her cheerful friend, “No I didn't Ayumi”
Kagome sighed as she followed her three friends and while they shared the latest gossip, she was trying to decide whether to show off or to back out before anything suspicious happens.
'Defiantly don't want to give away too much'
When they arrived the teacher had all the equipment out and ready. Though most of the students were very interested in the explanation she found it was boring because she already knew how. After the explanation the class was instructed to get into groups to practice.
'I still don't know what to do so,'
“I'll go last.”
'That will buy me some time anyway.'
The first person in each group shot; with varying degrees of success. Then out of nowhere a tall man with short spiky orange hair streaked in black appeared in the school yard were they were. He was strangely dressed (like Sesshomaru) and he carried a sword.
“Where is the miko with the jewel shards? Show her to me.” His voice was deep and cold but it didn't stop the teacher.
“Who are you? Please leave the premises!” She demanded. The demon glared at her and went to backhand her, but paused when an arrow flew past his face. He, and everyone else, turned to stare. Kagome stood there with another arrow drawn and said,
”Leave now or else.” Her voice full of resolution. The demon laughed at her, the laugh was so cold everyone became very worried.
”Why would I run? You have what I want. And the worthless half-breed is not here to save you this time little girl.” He bit the last part out with a sneer. Then he rushed to attack her. She let loose a sacred arrow which hit his chest.
If the expression on his face was any indication he was shocked that she actually had the power to do it.
'Well that solved that' Kagome thought as she turned to face the rest of her class. The looks she was getting ranged from horror to outright fear, the latter being the most prevalent.

Mrs H. (her last name is too long to keep spelling so I'll shorten it from the beginning) was humming as she brought laundry up to her daughter's room. When she opened the door she saw an odd looking young man. He had amber eyes, silver hair, dog ears the same colour as his hair but dressed in a more normal fashion in a red shirt and blue jeans.
”Hello Inuyasha. How are you?” She kindly asked the hanyou sitting on her daughter's bed. Inuyasha was surprised by how calm she was to find him there. He was just about to answer Mrs H. when he sensed something he hadn't expected to.
”What the hell?” He snapped and jumped out the window. Inuyasha raced to Kagome's school, where he arrived just in time to see the demon get slain by Kagome. The looks she was receiving were ones he knew well; disgust, horror and fear. He scented the area and smelt Kagome's tears starting and he was instantly on edge. It was one thing to feel those things toward him, he was used to it but to her it was new and he did not think she deserved it.
When he jumped down behind her there are gasps and everyone backs away. Kagome turns around and seeing who it is she buries her head against his chest and asks,
”Take me home. Please.” Inuyasha glares at the students, picks her up and heads home.
