Chapter 19

Bribes

"I never thought something like that would happen to you Kagome." Sango said. They were at Sango's house. Kagome had gone to her house after school on Friday before she had to go with Inuyasha, Souta, and Shippo.

"Well it did. I didn't expect it either." Kagome said. She had just told Sango about her date with Inuyasha.

"So how are you and Miroku doing? I haven't heard you fight or slap him lately." Kagome said.

"Well he hasn't tried to touch me." Sango said.

"Really? What made him change his ways?" Kagome asked.

"Well we kind of had a bet." Sango said.

"What kind of bet?"

"Well he has to go a month without groping or suggesting anything."

"And what happens if he wins?"

"Well he gets to do whatever he wants. He gets to choose what he wants and I can't object to it."

"You do know you're talking about Miroku right? The hentai. What do you get if you win?"

"I get whatever I want."

"How long has this been going on?"

"About a week and so far nothing." Sango said.

"What made you take a bet like that? This is Miroku we're talking about." Kagome said.

"I know but I couldn't help it. He kept saying I was afraid I'd lose and everything happened so fast. I hadn't realized I'd made the bet until we shook hands." Sango explained.

"I wonder who will win?" Kagome said.

"You aren't helping Kagome." Sango said dryly.

"Gomen I just think it's funny."

"Just like how you have to take Shippo and Souta wherever they want tomorrow?" Sango said.

"Ok I'll stop." Kagome said. Both girls laughed and went to take a walk.

Kagome decided to go home when it got dark. "Are you sure you don't need a ride home?" Sango asked.

"Hai its not too late. See you later." Kagome said. She started walking home. It was getting dark fast. It seemed like someone was following her. She sped up hoping to get rid of the feeling. When she felt the presence right behind her she turned around.

No one was there. She turned around and kept walking home. Maybe she was just being silly. The feeling wouldn't go away. She got more scared when a car stopped beside her. She tried to relax and she kept walking.

When the person got out of the car she broke out in a run. She screamed when arms came from behind her and grabbed her. "Shh it's ok it's just me." The voice said. The person let go.

Kagome turned around. "Kouga! What are you doing scaring me like that?" She asked.

"Well it's really late and I thought you'd want a ride." Kouga said. "I didn't mean to scare you. So do you want a ride? It can be my apology for scaring you."

"Thanks Kouga." Kagome said. They both got into the car. "I'm so glad you came by. It felt like I was being followed but no one was around."

"Oh well I didn't see anyone while I was driving." Kouga said. He stopped when they got to her house. "I'll see you later Kagome."

"Thanks Kouga." Kagome said. She started getting out of the car. Kouga grabbed her arm and pulled her to him. "What are..."

He silenced her with a kiss. He pulled away. "I'm sorry. I just really like you." He let her go and watched her walk up the shrine steps.

Kagome ran up the shrine steps when she heard Kouga drive off. Why was he so persistent? She didn't like him like that only Inuyasha. If he found out he would go ballistic. Maybe she wouldn't have to tell him. He'd probably find out.

She walked in her house and took a shower. Inuyasha was supposed to go to her house later that night and drop off her bag. If he smelled Kouga on her then she really wouldn't be able to keep it a secret.

When she got out of the shower she called Sango. She told her what happened. Sango also thought it best not to tell him. Inuyasha had the tendency to over react on simple things. He got way too jealous all the time.

She hung up with Sango when there was a knock on the door. She went downstairs to answer it. "Hey Kagome." Inuyasha said. He handed her the bag she had forgotten.

"Thanks Inuyasha." She said and took the bag.

Inuyasha frowned. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing's wrong why?" Kagome said.

"Because you're acting weird." Inuyasha said.

"I don't know everything is fine." Kagome said. "I'm going to put the bag upstairs."

"I have to get going. I'll see you tomorrow." Inuyasha said. Kagome nodded. He leaned down to kiss her. She quickly kissed him and shut the door.

She was acting weird. Something must've happened. He was going to find out tomorrow. He got in his car and drove home. He had a plan so he could figure out what the hell was wrong with her.

Kagome woke up at the sound of her alarm clock. She went into the bathroom to take a shower. When she was done she went to her room to get dressed. She went downstairs to eat breakfast. "Inuyasha what are you doing here?" Kagome asked. He was sitting at the table.

"I'm supposed to be here." Inuyasha said.

"Not this early." Kagome said.

"Oh Kagome you're up." Her mom said. "I told Inuyasha he could wait here if he wanted to. I knew it wouldn't be long until you got up."

"Oh." Kagome said.

"I'm going on a business trip for a couple of days. I should be back on Monday. Souta and Shippo will be staying at your aunt's house. Shippo hasn't met them yet. You can either go with them or stay here." Her mom said.

"I'll just stay here. I have some homework to do." Kagome said.

"Oh can you drop Souta and Shippo off after you spend the day with them? They told me you were going to take them a couple of places." Her mom said.

"Ah hai." Kagome said. She'd thought she'd gotten out of it.

"Thanks dear. Aunt Aya will drop them off Sunday after soccer practice. Oh I'm going to need you to drop me off at the airport."

"Sure it's not that far. But what about Souta and Shippo?" Kagome said.

"That's right we can't leave them here can we?" Ms. Higurashi said.

"I can watch them while your gone." Inuyasha said.

"Oh thank you Inuyasha." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Do you really want to do that mom?" Kagome asked.

"Oi, I can do it." Inuyasha said.

"Thanks. Can you wake them up? I explained to them yesterday about my last minute trip." Ms. Higurashi said.

"Hai." Inuyasha said.

"Well let's go then." Kagome said. She helped her mom with her luggage and they got into the car.

Inuyasha walked upstairs to wake up the boys. As soon as he walked into the room Shippo jumped out of bed and growled. "Oi, let it go runt. I'm here to make you a deal." Inuyasha smiled.

Kagome had just gotten home. It had taken longer than usual to get to the airport. There was an accident and so the traffic was horrible. She said goodbye to her mom and drove home.

She walked into the house and called to everyone she was home. When nothing happened she walked into the living room. She figured Souta and Shippo would run up to her demanding to go at once with Inuyasha at their heels.

"Inuyasha where's Souta and Shippo? I thought they'd want to leave right when I got back." Kagome said. She sat next to him on the couch.

"I dropped them off at your aunt's house." Inuyasha said.

"I thought they wanted to go wherever they wanted today?" Kagome said.

"Well they said they were tired and wanted to just go to their aunt's house." Inuyasha said. Truth was he bribed them to go to their aunt's house. He drove them as soon as they agreed.

"They were so excited about today too." Kagome said. "Well I'm going to go change then."

"Hai." Inuyasha said.

Kagome went upstairs to change into something more casual. She put on a white dress and put her hair up in a ponytail. She put her clothes in the hamper. She heard a knock at her door. "Come in."

Inuyasha opened the door and walked in. "So Kagome what was wrong with you yesterday?" He asked.

Kagome froze not expecting him to ask that question and turned around. "What are you talking about I told you nothing was wrong."

"I know you lying." Inuyasha said. "I've known you for too long to get away with something like that."

"It's nothing it really is." Kagome said. She screamed when Inuyasha pushed her on the bed and jumped on top of her. "I wish you wouldn't do that."

"I'm not letting you up until you tell me what's wrong." Inuyasha said. He pinned her arms above her head.

Seeing as how he was going to go through with his threat she sighed. "Kouga gave me a ride home yesterday that's all." Kagome said.

"What the hell did he do? He kissed you didn't he?" Inuyasha said.

"Well..." Kagome started.

"I'm going to kill that bastard." Inuyasha said.

"No don't. It's nothing ok." Kagome said. "I keep telling you that you don't have to worry about other guys."

"You like it when they kiss you don't you?" Inuyasha asked.

"I can't believe you! Aren't you listening to me at all?" Kagome yelled.

"Of course I'm listening to you. I'm not going to let them kiss you and get away with it. You're mine and they need to know it." Inuyasha said.

"They do know it they just don't care. I told you I love you and you still act as if I never said it." Kagome yelled.

Inuyasha calmed down a little bit at hearing her say she loved him. "I told you I just can't help it." Inuyasha said. "It's all instincts. Even if it wasn't I'd still do it. You're the only good thing that's happened to me and I won't let you go."

"Inuyasha." Kagome said. She hadn't realized it was like that.

Inuyasha looked at her and leaned down and caught her lips in a gentle kiss. It was the only way to calm himself down. That and he just wanted to kiss her. He licked her lips and she opened her mouth for him.

He released one of his hands that held her arms above her to cup her breast. Kagome moaned and arched her back. Inuyasha kissed her neck.

"Inuyasha."

Oyasumi- Night. It's really oyasumi nasai. It means good night. Oyasumi is just shorter.
