Chapter 18

A Date and Control

When Kagome jumped off the bike she almost fell because she was so dizzy. Inuyasha had purposely went around a round about over and over again. She wanted to hurt him but was too afraid to let him go.

Inuyasha laughed as she tried to catch her balance. He caught her when she leaned too far over. He kissed her before she could say anything. Kagome was confused but ended up kissing him back.

They switched vehicles and were on their way with another one of Inuyasha's surprise dates. "You should tell me where we're going." Kagome said.

"Why should I?" Inuyasha said.

"Because then I would know if I was dressed right for the occasion." Kagome said.

"You could go naked for all I care." Inuyasha said.

"You would like that wouldn't you?" Kagome asked.

"Of course I would." Inuyasha said.

"Everyone else would be able to see me though." Kagome said.

Inuyasha slammed on his breaks and put the car in park. "What the hell did you say?" Inuyasha said. He gritted his teeth to stop him from yelling.

"I didn't mean it Inuyasha." Kagome panicked. They were still out in the middle of the road. She was just glad there were no cars behind them. "At least pull over to the side of the road."

Inuyasha started the car and drove forward. His eyes never left the road and he gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles were white. It was a wonder he hadn't broken it yet.

He pulled over to where there weren't as many cars. He turned off the car and put his hands back on the wheel. He tried to calm down. Even though he knew she wouldn't run around without any clothes on it still pissed him off.

He couldn't help it if his instincts wanted to lash out at someone. It took all his self-control to ignore his instincts. That was why he wanted to mate with her. His instincts would be easier to control and he wouldn't have so much doubt.

"Inuyasha are you all right?" Kagome said quietly. She didn't want to accidentally set him off. She could tell he was barely holding on.

He slowly turned his head to look at her. His mouth devoured hers in a demanding kiss. She didn't even know what happened until he licked her lips. She opened instinctively still confused on what was happening.

She was brought back to reality when he cupped her breast. His lips left hers and traveled down to her neck. Kagome knew she should stop him but couldn't. She didn't want to. She didn't know why she had to stop him.

All her thoughts dispersed when Inuyasha's hand went under her shirt and bra. He kissed her lips as he knead her right breast. She moaned as his other hand traveled up her skirt to cup her backside.

A knock on the window ruined their moment of pleasure. "Hey do you need any help?" The man asked.

Inuyasha growled. "No we don't need any help thank you though." Kagome said. She didn't want Inuyasha to say something stupid. The man looked at them strangely before going back to his car.

Kagome put her clothes back in place and sat back against her seat with her hand over her heart. That was the most intense...well she didn't know what to call it, but it was intense. "We should get going." Kagome whispered.

"Yeah." Inuyasha started the car. They were silent throughout the ride. Inuyasha wondered if he had gone too far. Kagome was looking out the window and her face was red.

He tried to control himself. He really did. Just the thought of others looking at her drove him insane. The next thing he knew his lips were on hers and his hand was up her shirt. She didn't stop him though. Did that mean she didn't mind?

Kagome's heart was beating fast. There was no sign of it slowing down anytime soon. Would she have gone all the way if that guy hadn't knocked on the window? She didn't know if she was ready yet. She had a lot of thinking to do.

Inuyasha had made reservations at a fancy restaurant again. She knew she was underdressed and felt uncomfortable walking around all the formally dressed people. She was wearing a short skirt with a white blouse.

"Don't worry you look great." Inuyasha said.

Kagome blushed still remembering what happened earlier. "Arigato." She said. They sat down and looked at the menu.

Dinner was unusually quiet for them. Usually they talked about a lot of things. Not much was said. Inuyasha assumed it was bad because she wouldn't look him in the eyes. He didn't know what to say.

When dinner was over they got back into the car and Inuyasha drove to the next spot. He just hoped she would relax. She seemed tense. He pulled over and they both got out of the car.

They were at the beach. The one where Inuyasha had told Kagome he loved her. She smiled and held his hand. He too smiled. They silently walked down the beach with their shoes in their hands.

Inuyasha stopped and sat down. He pulled her down with him and wrapped his arms around her. They were both facing the beach. Inuyasha's face was buried in Kagome's hair at her neck.

"Are you mad?" he asked almost as if he was afraid of the answer.

"Mad about what?" Kagome asked.

"About earlier in the car?" He said.

"No...no I'm not mad." Kagome said.

Inuyasha sighed in relief. "I'm sorry I couldn't control myself."

"It's all right."

"I just got mad when you said what you did. I snapped."

"It's ok."

"That's why I want us to be mated."

"Huh?" Kagome was confused. What did mating have to do with what she said?

"If we were mated I wouldn't have to worry about you leaving me or someone trying to take you away."

"I told you, you don't have to worry about that."

"I know you say that. My instincts tell me different."

"I'm sorry. I guess I just didn't understand what it meant to youkai."

"It's not your fault. Besides I'll wait forever if I have to."

Even though it sounded like he'd took that line out of a movie or a book she still thought it was sweet. It wasn't like Inuyasha to act like this. He was usually rough and snappy. But right now he was being gentle and nice. "I won't make you wait forever." Kagome said.

"So does that mean you'll tell me why you're so scared?"

"Scared about what?" Kagome asked. She knew what he was talking about. She just didn't want to have this conversation. She'd been avoiding for a while now.

"You know what." Inuyasha said. "I told you we'd have this conversation. I think after what happened earlier you should tell me."

"Well...I'm just scared of it all together. I mean it hurts the first time and there are so many risks. I'm too young to get pregnant."

"You wouldn't have to worry about being pregnant." Inuyasha explained. "If you mate with a youkai you can only get pregnant when you're in heat. I'd be gentle with you."

"I know you would I'm still scared though. I guess it was because I wasn't ready and I'd heard so many horrible experiences about it."

"I wouldn't be horrible." Inuyasha said in a cocky tone.

"Of course you wouldn't." Kagome giggled. Things weren't as awkward or tense now that they had that conversation.

Inuyasha moved her hair with his nose and kissed the back of her neck. She shivered and put her arms over his. "We should get going. It's getting late." He said. Kagome nodded.

They walked to Inuyasha's car and they put their shoes on. He started the car and headed towards Kagome's house. "So what do you want to do Saturday?" Inuyasha asked.

"Did you forget already? We have to take Souta and Shippo wherever they want that day." Kagome said.

"Damn I forgot. I say we give them a pile of money and ditch them." Inuyasha said.

"Won't work. Souta thinks of you as his hero and someone would probably take the money from them." Kagome said.

"You got a point." Inuyasha said.

"Come on it won't kill you." Kagome said.

"I know it was worth it." He smirked.

"Hentai." Kagome said.

"The last time you said that I groped you in public. I'll do it again." Inuyasha said.

"Jerk." Kagome muttered.

He stopped in front of her house and walked her to her door. "I'll see you at school." He said.

"Hai. Thanks Inuyasha." Kagome said. She pulled on his hair and kissed him.

"Now that's my kind of thank you." Inuyasha smirked. "I love you."

"I love you too." Kagome said. Inuyasha bent down for another kiss. "Oyasumi."

"Oyasumi." Inuyasha said. He watched as Kagome walked in and shut the door. He smiled. The date had gone better than planned even though there were some rough moments. It just led to greater ones.
