Over and Done

 

“Are you serious!” Sango slammed her hands on the table.

 

After Kagome told Inuyasha and her mother what happened she called everyone else. Instead of telling them one at a time she thought it would be better to get together in a group to explain. Her mother offered to watch the kids for a couple of days. At least until Inuyasha's temper cooled down. She could hear him in the background yelling.

 

“Dear, you're going to attract attention.” Miroku grabbed her hands smiling at the people who were already staring.

 

“No! I can't believe you Kagome! I know your nice and all...but she shot you!” Sango lowered her voice a bit.

 

“I see why Inuyasha isn't on speaking terms with you. Where are your children?” Sesshomaru asked.

 

“At my mother's. She offered to watch them until Inuyasha's temper cooled down.” Kagome sighed. “He yelled all throughout our phone conversation...”

 

“And for a damn good reason. She made that bitch sound like a saint!” Inuyasha shouted, attracting the attention of people that they had just lost.

 

“Inuyasha quiet down!” Kagome whispered to him.

 

“I suggest we move this gathering elsewhere.” Sesshomaru waved towards their waiter to get their check.

 

“I agree with Sesshomaru.” Rin said.

 

“Forget it. I'm leaving.” Kagome stood up walked out of the restaurant.

 

“You're not going to follow her?” Miroku asked Inuyasha. He remained in his seat not even glancing at her.

 

“No, she's not in danger anymore.” Inuyasha grunted. “She can take care of herself.”

 

“So that's what this is about.” Rin smiled.

 

“What?” Inuyasha asked, looking at her.

 

“Your angry that she can take care of herself. So far you've always protected her and now that she solved her problem herself, you feel useless.” Rin explained.

 

Inuyasha didn't even answer. He stood up and followed after Kagome. Like he'd ever admit that was true...and it was true.

 

“That's exactly what it is.” Miroku chuckled.

 

“I still can't believe she can forgive Nami that easily.” Sango sighed.

 

“I can.” Rin said. Everyone turned to look at her. “What?”

 

“How?” Sango asked.

 

“Well Kagome is very forgiving we all know that. You can't blame someone who was in love for doing what she did. Not only that but she was mentally unstable. You can't blame her for that. Wouldn't you do something if Miroku loved someone else and broke off your engagement? Can you easily say you wouldn't take revenge?” Rin asked.

 

Everyone sat back and realized she was right.

Kagome sighed as she finally felt like she could get some rest. She took a cab home never turning around to see if Inuyasha was following her, she highly doubted he was anyway, he was pretty angry. Just when she closed her eyes she heard the door open. Not looking forward to the confrontation, she rolled over away from the door and pulled the blanket over her head.

 

She felt a weight on the side of her but continued to ignore it. He wasn't going to let her ignore him though. “Kagome you know I'm here.” Inuyasha sighed.

 

Kagome just pulled the blanket up further over her head. Inuyasha yanked the blanket off and she pulled it back but in doing so she rolled over and fell off of the bed with a thunk sound. Inuyasha chuckled and climbed over to help her up. The only thing was she wasn't there. He turned around just in time to see Kagome get up from under the bed.

 

He jumped up and grabbed her around the waist. “This is ridiculous.” He said.

 

“What's so ridiculous about what?” Kagome asked.

 

“You're ignoring me.” Inuyasha said.

 

“Like you weren't doing it to me earlier.” Kagome started kicking now. She ended up hurting herself in the process and gasped grabbing her side.

 

“See.” Inuyasha walked over to the bed and sat down with her. “Your going to hurt yourself...again.”

 

“What do you want Inuyasha?” Kagome sighed.

 

“To talk. I was immature and I wanted to apologize but it seems like you were doing the same thing...” Inuyasha laughed.

 

Kagome began to laugh too. They were laughing all of their weeks of frustrations. They were interrupted when the phone rang. Kagome picked it up and answered. “Moshi moshi. Oh Nami!”

 

“I just called to say I'm sorry again and to let you know that I'm going back to therapy. I told the police what happened and they said you dropped the charges...”

 

“Yes, well things were complicated. I'm glad to hear you're doing better.”

 

“Yea, thanks for everything. I have to go, I have a session in a half an hour. I'll talk to you later. Bye!” Nami hung up.

 

“She called?” Inuyasha asked skeptically.

 

“Hai, she was just letting me know she's going to therapy now.” Kagome put the phone back on the receiver. “If you have a problem with it then deal with it. What'd you come back for?”

 

“To apologize for one. Rin was right.” Inuyasha sighed. Kagome gave him a questions look so he began to explain, “Well, she said that I was angry because this time you were in danger you didn't need me.”

 

“That's why you're mad, because I didn't need you?” Kagome asked.

 

Inuyasha shrugged. “I don't know! I was just frustrated because you tried to do everything yourself! I wanted to be there for you!” He shouted.

 

“So that is what this is about.” Kagome sighed. “I hate it when you get like this...Things will be fine. It's over and it doesn't matter anymore okay.”

 

Once more they were interrupted when the doorbell rang. Kagome and Inuyasha both stood up and went to answer the door. “Sei!” Kagome greeted.

 

“I just stopped by to drop off these flowers for you.” Sei smiled and handed them to her. They were a bouquet of different colored roses. “I heard what you were going through and thought this would make you feel better.”

 

“That's so sweet.” Kagome smiled. “Thank you!”

 

“I should get going. I'm only on my lunch break. I'll see you at work Inuyasha. I hope things go well!” Sei said and left.

 

“I still don't like that guy.” Inuyasha slammed the door shut.

 

“He's sweet.” Kagome went into the kitchen to get a vase for the flowers. “You never get me any flowers...”

 

“Don't even start! I do too!” Inuyasha shouted.

 

Kagome turned to him and looked at him sadly. “That was a long time ago. I don't even think you love me anymore and after we had two kids together!” She quickly turned around.

 

“Your such a liar!” Inuyasha laughed and grabbed her. He knew she was messing around. She did that a while ago and that's what made him get her flowers in the first place... “I do love you. I wouldn't be busting my ass if I didn't!”

 

“I know. I just love messing with you.” Kagome spun around and kissed him. “So let's forget what happened and give Nami a second chance? Or else our time alone tonight might go to waste.”

 

Inuyasha smirked and leaned down to kiss her. “Oh, and what were your plans?” He asked slyly.

 

Kagome just grabbed his hand and lead him to the bedroom.

Yes yes short chapter but what do you expect when all the ends are tied up? I wanted to kind of end it differently. You know without a violent death. So hopefully you like the different ending. Let me know what you think!
