Chapter 8: Badboy Reveled! Enter Shippo
Togasai took another drag from his cigarette. The clock tower across the street read 10:15.
`5 more minutes.'
A nurse walked into the carrying a tray of food. She wrinkled her pert nose in disgust.
“No smoking in the hospital rooms.” She said in a bitchy tone (you know the one only a highly trained female ear can hear, I hate it when girls talk like that) while pointing at the “No Smoking” sign on the white washed wall of the room.
Sighing at what “Miriam” (from what the name on her name tag, dah!) said, Togasai snuffed out his cigg. and through it into the trash can.
A gurgle of frustration emitted from “Miriam"'s throat as she quickly dropped the tray on the patient, who coughed when it hit his stomach, and ran to the waist bin to pour water in it and glare at Togasai. She then huffed and sat on the chair near the door.
Togasai almost grinned with satisfaction at the look she was sending him as he turned towards the glass window.
“Look lady, why don't you just wait outside?” He could hear her shuffle around a bit and then the door closed with a slam.
“What a bitch.”
“You're telling me.” Togasai turned to look at the bed and the figure in it, who was struggling to sit up. Togasai grinned. With a broken leg and two broken arms, his top hacker and hit man was as much a site as he was a wreck.
“Here bro, let me help you up.” Togasai moved to the bed and braced his friend's back as he tried to move forward. A pillow slipped behind the hackers back and both men looked up to see Sesshoumaru standing by the bedside, stoke faced as ever, completely oblivious to the nicety he had just performed.
“Thanks man.” The patient ginned up at him, showing off sharp, fanged teeth. Sesshoumaru merely nodded in acceptance at the thanks and promptly turned to sit in the very same chair the bitch of a nurse had sat in not 2 minutes before.
“As I was saying before,” The hacker began again. “That nurse really is a bitch. Won't even let me have a puff.”
“I feel your pain man, I really do.” Came the response from the doorway. 3 sets of eyes turned to look up at Rei who was leaning against the doorframe, smirking. She walked into the room and crossed to Togasai, who looked like he was about to explode.
“Ah, ah, ah, big brother”, Rei said in a childish voice, receiving a glare from said party. She smiled and continued. “You said I could come for the girl's sanity.” She leaned against the ventilator in front of the window and grinned at the occupant of the room. “How you doing.”
“Well, aside from my afore mentioned withdrawal symptoms I've been having, the doc says I can leave in a month or so.” He grinned back. Rei and himself had grown up together and had been friends from day one.
“Good. That's very good.”
“Sorry to break up this touching moment, but she's here.” A man with a star shaped tattoo on his forehead and a sleek, black braid at the base of his neck stood (guess where) in the doorway looking as board as a college student in Chemistry.
“Thanks Bankotsu.”
“Hey Shippo. You look a little pail, maybe you should lie back down?” Rei's voices sounded mildly worried as she shifted to face him.
“Nah, I want my reunion with my old partner to be face to face.” The orange haired Scot smiled from ear to ear.

“Did you get the girl?”
“No Milord, but those demons were guarding her like hawks. We couldn't have gotten close to her, even if we tried.”
“Yura, are you telling me you didn't even make an attempt to steal her from them?”
“No m'lord…it's just…”
“You disappoint me Yura. Leave my sight at once!”
The crimson-eyed female shuddered at the cold tone of her master's angry voice. Her short cropped hair slid into her face as she bowed her head in shame and left the room.
“Subaki!”
A white haired maiden materialized out of the shadows.
“Yes my Lord.”
“I want you to watch this girl the Souaga have taken under their wing. Report to me within the week on your findings. Do you understand?”
“Yes my Lord, Naraku, it shall be as you command.”

Kagome was warm. Heat radiated from the cloud of strength encompassing her. `Mmmm.' Smiling to herself, she snuggled into it, not wanting to open her eyes yet, only wishing to remain in this warmth for an eternity. Her cloud seemed to purr around her, deep vibrations reverberating throughout her whole body.
“Mushi.” A deep voice from above her whispered, almost reverently. The sound washed over her like a wave of comfort that made a fuzzy, fluff-like happiness rise up in her heart. It spread from her head to her toes like a coursing river, filling the empty spaces of her soul. (sure) The sweet scent of pine trees permeated her senses, calming her already at peace mind further. Sighing softly, Kagome sank more into her extra soft cloud of warmth.
“Mushi, you have to wake up now.” Kagome shook her head, not wanting to leave her perfect little world for a moment. A soft breeze of breath washed over her face and Kagome's foggy mind began to clear with it. Then it hit her. The memories of what had happened. How badboy was a fake and those Hebe had tried to rape her. Had they? She couldn't remember. Tears began to flee the confines of her still closed eyes to slide slowly down the sides of her cheeks.
The being above her tenderly wiped them away with what felt like a clawed finger and held her closer to his warm, comforting body. She responded to the love encompassing her by crying out in anguish and grabbing his shirt and sobbing into it.
“Oh God,” The man whispered into her ear as he began to rub her back. “Mushi…I'm so sorry I was late. I can never forgive myself for letting those creatures do what they did.” His voice was a soft growl, suffusing warmth in her heart. Wait a minute, why was he calling her Mushi. Could he be…
Kagome slowly opened her eyes to be greeted by the sight of a black T-shirt covering an incredibly well toned chest and abs.
“Badboy?” Her voice was barely addible, horse from not being used. It was then Kagome realized she still wore her mask. He hadn't taken it off? Why? Was he really…
“Yah, love…it's me.” He held her closer to him, as if reluctant to let her go for a minute. Relief ebbed from every part of her, coursing through her veins in sweet recognition. He was real. He was holding her. He had called her love!
“Did you…were you the one who saved me?”
“Yes. I'm sorry, it's all my fault.” He sounded so dejected. Her badboy was not acting like the egotistical jerk he sometimes was in the chat room. Kagome tried to pull away to see his face, but her badboy only held on tighter.
“Please, if you hate me I understand, but please, don't leave. Don't leave me now.” The deep roll of his plea undid her. He was beating himself up over what had happened, and even though Kagome cursed with every fiber of her being the men that had defiled her, she didn't blame him, at least…not now. That he had saved her from them was enough to clear him in her book. Lord, but she wanted to see who he was.
“Badboy, I'm not going to leave you…and I don't hate you at all. Please, I only want to see you.”
The iron strong arms loosened around her shoulders, but still held her firmly in place. It was then that Kagome realized the position they were in. He sat cross-legged on what seemed to be some sort of mattress, with her legs draped over one side of them and her buttocks resting squarely in the middle. He had changed her cloths also; at least she suspected that was the case since she no longer wore the tattered green dress that was her mothers. `Oh Kami, Moms going to kill me when she finds out.' Her new attire consisted of a long black sweat pants and a barrowed, black, Orange County Choppers t-shirt, both of which were far too big on her small frame.
“Please…” She whispered once more. The next words to follow would've sounded like something out of a Shojo Manga to her if she were in her right frame of mind, which she wasn't. “Please…let me look upon the face of my protector.”
His grip relented somewhat, though he still held onto her. Slowly, Kagome lifted her head to gaze upon the strong curve of a pale jawbone. The high cheekbone and dark sculpted eyebrows. The long silver hair and molten amber eyes of…
`Inuyasha!'

AN: Sorry about the delay, I've been tied up. I'm also very disappointed in you all. You see, the numbers don't add up. I have like 3,000 something people reading this story and only 7 reviews. Now how does that work? If you don't get it yet maybe this will help. No reviews, no story. I'm being a bitch about this I know, but here's the second problem. I've had 7 reviews since I posted chapter 3! And what chapter am I on now? 8!!!!!!! I'm sorry guys, I truly am, but you're not giving me a reason to write right now, and quite frankly I don't have the time to keep posting stories if no one will comment on them. I have better things to do, like all the homework I have piling up in a corner of my room! *-* There's a lot of it! Please, please PLEASE review. Give me a reason to write. No matter how much i9 love writing this story, I'm going to have to stop writing if ya'll don't review. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is, so please review!
Satari
PS: If you don't review lots, I won't continue coming up with plots! This will make you unhappy you see, `cuase Authoress will stop writing chapters for thee! Hehe ^_^ I came up with that just now!
