Children of the Sun and Moon
Chapter III
The ground tremble as the seal begins to weaken. A pair of gleaming red purple eyes stares maliciously through the semi large hole that he had just create in the mountain with his slowly, but ever continuously growing power. He screams in misery at his small feat and began lashing out at the darkness around him. He halted his destruction and walks toward the hole, stopping just in front of it. With his left hand, he reaches out, putting his it through the hole.
A diminutive jolt of power sent a current of electrifying waves through his body as his fingers barely touched the outside barrier around his prison.
He flinches slightly at the pain. The sensation was not like before when it felt as if he was being consume by a raging fire, by the pain of being slash by harsh unseen wind and the plays of cutting water, but most of all, the torture of being pierce by thousand and thousand of invisible needle-like object. No, this time it was almost bearable, making the hair on his skin tingle, although it did still hurt.
He pulls his hand back, this time a malevolence grin plastered on his handsome face, making him look almost like a psychotic on the lose. Maybe it had to do with being trapped here for four hundred and fifty years, unconscious of the world around him, or maybe it was the thirst for revenge that flow through his vein that cause him to be like this. Either way, he no longer cared.
Already his old servants were being pulled to him, and even if they could not reach this entrapment of his, he could still telepathically command them to do what he wished using what control he still had on them. They were all weak anyway. There were those who were still loyal to him and there were those who he had force to submit to his will.
He laughs evilly to the thought of the pain he would inflict on his enemies once he was free. Oh how his eyes glows a dangerous blood red as he stared through the hole, leisurely backing away into the shadows he had so long come to know while his laughs stills echoes throughout the empty space.
Terrain
Outside as the guards of mixed youkai and human stood sentry out in the front gates of Terrain, two figures appeared out of the forest before them.
One was clad in an all red hoari and hakama. He had dog shape ears, telling them that he was a hanyou and his hair was the color of silvery white; his eyes were the color of golden amber. He carried only one weapon, which was a rusted looking sword on his right side.
His companion was different, for he was wrapped in a dark forest green clock, his face and clothes hidden from view. No weapons were seen on him, but his aura was that of a strong fighter, although it did feel very familiar.
As the guards got into a defensive stance, the clocked figure pulled down his hood, revealing a very handsome young kitsune youkai. Bright green orbs stare at them all in merriment, a grin appear on his face, spreading from ear to ear.
This caused the sentries to get up from their positions, their face in shock and happiness as they recognized who the trespasser was, all except for his companion, that is.
The kitsune turns to look at the hanyou, telling him to come.
“Feh,” was his only reply as the two were admitted entry into the castle ground.

Kagome awoke to the morning rays burning into her eyes. She turns over, groaning while throwing the covers over her head and burrowing deeper into the pillow. She was content to just lie there all day, not wanting to be bother by anyone at that moment.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK
She groaned in agony, wanting to block out the sound.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK
She jumps up from the bed, her eyes glaring daggers at the door. Pulling the yakata tighter around her, she march over to the door and yank it open, ready to kill the person on the other side.
As Kagome opened the door, she found herself staring into someone's broad chest. Her gaze travel upward and her breath hitch in her throat.
Standing right before her was her adoptive son Shippo. He looked so different and yet she could never forget him. He had been gone for over four years now and oh how she missed him.
He was taller than before, for she didn't remember ever having to look up at him. He still had his very reddish hair, although it was much longer, even tied up in the same old ponytail. His eyes were as green as ever, brighter and more vibrant with life.
Four years ago, he had come to her, asking that he be allow to go on a quest to avenge the destruction of his family. He had only been thirteen, but she had seen the determination in his eyes and knew that she could not stop him. He was resolved to not let his training go to waste.
Ever since then, Kagome had long awaited his return, refusing to admit to herself that he could be dead. Oh how she could never forget that little kitsune she had rescued when she was only sixteen. He was only eight then, injured, alone, and scared but oh he was so brave.
Watching him grow up was had brought so much happiness in her life and now, seeing him again brought tears of joy to her eyes.
“Shippo,” she whispered as the tears flowed down her cheek. She brought her hand to her mouth when a small sob escaped her lips.
Shippo let out a wide grin as he stared at his surrogated mother.
“Okaasan, please do not cry. Be happy that your son is back, safe and unharmed,” he said, his voice a deep baritone. He got down on his knees, not wanting his mother to strain her neck looking at him.
“Oh Shippo, you baka, these are tears of joy, not sadness,” she said happily. “Now give your okaasan a hug, or else.”
With that, he complied, throwing himself into her arms, almost knocking her over. It was much easier when he was little, when she could carry him in her arms, but now that he was so big, her arms barely fitted around him.
Kagome did not care, for as long as she was able to hold him, she was content for now.
After a while, Kagome pulled back, looking at him in the eyes once more.
“Oh Shippo, there is so much that we have to catch up on.” She gave him a radiant smile before telling him off to wait for her in the library until she freshens up.
Thirty minutes later, Kagome was bounding down the corridor in her blue and white fighting kimono, racing to the library, wanting to make sure that this was not all a dream.
She abruptly stops in front of the door trying to regain some of her composer. Breathing deeply, she pushes open the door and enters.
Shippo had notice she was there for he had sense her from all the down the hallway. He was happy to see his okaasan for it had been a long time. The door opened and he turns to look at his mother, a warm smile on her lips.
“Shippo,” she whispered so low that only his demon ears could pick up.
Oh yes, it was no dream, it was very real.

The rest of the day was spent in talking about his journey and how he had finally found the thunder brothers and took his revenge on them.
He told of his travels through the northern lands and into the western. It been very hard traveling alone at such a very young age, but he had made due fine when he met up with a hanyou. The bastrad was pretty arrogant and stubborn at times but as time pass, they had become good friends. He was name Inuyasha, Shippo had told them, and he was here with him. He was given one of the guest quarters and it would seem that he had fallen asleep afterwards and still has yet to awaken.
Shippo told them of how they had met. It had only been a year since he left and he wasn't making much progress when he came upon Inuyasha in the woods fighting off three bear youkai. There was only one left, as Inuyasha had already killed two of them before he had arrived, but Inuyasha had a gash on his right arm and another on his chest. It was the only downfall of his success. He was losing blood rapidly so Shippo knew that he had to help or else he would die.
Flashback…
Shippo ran forward as he saw the hanyou falls to his knees, his sword struck into the ground for support. He jumps in front of him, pulling out his twins daggers as he face the youkai.
Inuyasha growled as he senses the kitsune in front of him.
“Get out of the way,” Inuyasha snarled. “I'll kill the bastard all on my own. I don't need the help of a puny youkai like you. I may be a hanyou, but I am not weak,” he stated as if trying to prove something.
“I do not care if you are a hanyou. All I care about is helping you. That is all that matters,” Shippo stated as he barely dodge a swipe from the huge bear youkai.
Inuyasha just stared at him in shock. Never in his life had anybody ever offer him assistance, for either they scorn him because of his tainted blood or just down right hated him. He watched as the kitsune jump at the youkai, slashing it deeply across the chest causing a lot of blood to surge forth. He jump back, skidding to a stop several feet away from it before charging at it with his demon speed once more, this time his daggers crossed in front of him in a `x' formation.
It was a new technique that Shippo had developed on his travel which allowed him to channel up his foxfire into the blades, causing them to become ablaze with fire of red, blue, and orange. As he reaches about midway to the youkai, he forcefully uncrossed the daggers, his hands spread out on each side of him. The force caused a line of energy to be released, his contain foxfire youki in the blades slashing up the demon into many pieces.
Breathing heavily, the kitsune turn to the hanyou who had a look shock upon his face which was immediately turn into a smirk.
“Feh, guest you're not so weak after all. I still say that I could've beaten him all on my own.”
The hanyou stood up slowly only to wince at the oncoming pain and crumble to the ground in a dead faint. Shippo only shook his head in exasperation and sheathing his daggers, walked towards the hanyou.
In the thorough of three hours later in a secluded area in the dense forest, Shippo had managed to collected fire woods to build a fire, healed and bandaged an unconscious hanyou, and hunted down dinner for the two of them.
Afterwards things got a little better, or close to it anyway, for when the hanyou woke up the only thing he would say was `feh' although Shippo could see that he was thankful, even if he couldn't admit it. They told each other their tales, well mainly Shippo, and the hanyou Inuyasha just saying that he was passing through, no more, no less.
Ever since then, they have been traveling together, and for three years they were like good friends.
End of flashback…
Inuyasha sat up on the bed that he had fallen asleep on and began sneezing rapidly in repetition until he thought he couldn't breathe when suddenly it stops.
He begins to mummer under his breath about traitorous kitsune and people plotting against him and talking about him behind his back as he gets off the bed and exit the room to search for a redhead, green eyed kitsune. He began to get frustrated when he figured that the damn fox had hidden his scent.
“Damn kitsune,” he cursed under his breath when he came to the conclusion that he was lost in the maze of the huge Terrain castle and a certain scent caught his nose. He followed it to what seem to be a deserted garden except for a lone figure sitting on a stone bench under a dead tree, although Inuyasha was oblivious to his surrounding for all he saw was the beautiful woman sitting there.
He was about to take a step closer but found that he couldn't. He looked down at his feet to see that vines and root were wound around his feet and legs, rendering any movement.
“Who are you and what are you doing in this part of the castle?”
A/N: Can anyone tell me who this woman is? Kikyo or Kagome? Find out next time, so ja ne!
