Cinderella is Kagome

Summary: An anime version of Cinderella

 

Chapter 1:Kagome

Kagome dropped the heavy bundle of grain in the sack. She sighed and remembered her mother's last words to her, 'You will find True Love...I know it. Stay strong my little Kagome-Chan.... 'Those were her last words before dying of fever.

 

"KAGOME!!!" Kikyo screamed

 

Kagome sighed again, "Yes mistress?"

 

"GET YOUR ASS TO WORK!!!"

 

"Yes mistress." Kagome sighed a third time. She picked up her bow and arrows and set out into the woods.

 

She trailed a pack of deer for three days before finally managing to snag one of the larger bucks. She dragged the carcass out of the woods and slung it over her shoulder. She began to walk back towards the village when a carriage/cart rolled up to her.

 

"Oi! Lad! Need a lift wiff that heavy carcass." Kagome looked up, "Me dear gods ye are a miss! Where are ye carryin' a LARGE and probably heavy deer carcass?"

 

"I am heading back to the village three miles that way, "She pointed in the direction she was going,

 

"Well ye can get on in the back wiff that and since the masters are going through there we can give ye a lift."

 

"Jaken who is that??" A young hanyou with pointed dog ears, fangs and claws stuck his head out the window of the carriage half. He saw Kagome and jumped out. Kagome dropped her hunt and immediately curtsied, "My lord." InuYasha sort of stared. It was a WOMAN lugging that heavy looking buck, "Why do you carry that?"

 

"Well I had to go out hunting as my father is too old and my elder sister considers herself more of a lady so I do the simple chores such as hunting and harvesting." Kagome explained trying not to sound disrespectful, "Please sirs it is almost dark I must be going." She picked up the buck and started to walk down the road

 

"Miss if you would like we may give a ride. I think we are going to stop in that village.” His elder brother Lord Sesshomaru the lord of that land also stepped out and behind him a young priest.

 

"May I inquire as to your companions names without sounding disrespect my Lord?" Kagome asked

 

"I am InuYasha and this is Miroku." The hanyou InuYasha replied.

 

"I thank thy kind Lords but now I must be going if I am to escape a beating." Kagome informed them

 

"Here put the carcass in the back." InuYasha commanded. Kagome did so and was about to climb in with it.

 

"My lady you are to ride with us." InuYasha told her

 

"I should think not to soil the carriage of my Lords." Kagome said politely.

 

"Very well." InuYasha climbed into the back with her. They all stared at him. InuYasha shrugged and the carriage started off.

 

When they arrived at the village Kagome pointed the direction to her hut. When they arrived there was a screech,” WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN YOU ARE LATE!!!!"

 

Kagome sighed and unloaded the carcass she took it to the side of the hut and stood in between the carriage and the hut bracing herself. Kikyo came out screeching, "WENCH! BITCH! YOU ARE LATE GET TO WORK!!!" She hit Kagome and Kagome's cheek began to bleed. She showed no sign of wanting to cry but merely put her hand up to her cheek to stop the now hard bleeding. InuYasha, Sesshomaru and Miroku leapt out. Kagome glanced back at them with widened eyes. Kikyo gasped and curtsied, "My lords! Please come in! Won't you stay the night at our humble home? Father! We have guests!"

 

Kagome and Kikyo's father Myoga came out on a cane. He was a short round little man with an honest face and balding white hair. It was true what Kagome said. He WAS too old to hunt. Their father Myoga was also wry and he looked weak. Kikyo with her fine jewels and satin/silk clothing looked like a lady next to Kagome in her much-too-short kimono, tanned muscles and the blood running down her cheek. Both girls had raven black hair but Kagome's seemed to shine better than Kikyo's.

Later in the hut InuYasha got up.

 

"My lord?" Myoga asked, "Of course feel free to stroll our small home.

 

"Where is your sister?" InuYasha asked curiously

 

"Oh she is probably performing her awful songs. She is a terrible singer.” behind Kikyo's bragging back Myoga rolled his eyes

 

"Kikyo dear you know you can't sing." Kikyo glared daggers at him

 

InuYasha strolled out of the hut and went over to the crowd on the street. He managed somehow not to be noticed but still get to the front.

 

Kagome started to play guitar and was backed up by a beautiful drum player. The behind (back-up) band also back them up. Kagome started to sing:

The crowd screamed again. Kagome and the girl at the drums with the dark hair and eyes stood and took their bows. They exited the stage. InuYasha went up to meet them. Then from down the street Sesshomaru and Miroku also came.

 

"We heard some of your concert...WOW!" Miroku said, "And who is this??" He added slyly

 

"I'm Sango." Kagome's friend replied

 

"Sango! Please come home!" a boy with the same dark eyes and hair as her called. Sango waved and ran toward her hut.

 

"We should get back." Kagome suggested. The three guys nodded.

 

They entered the hut but InuYasha noticed that Kagome didn't follow them.

 

"Aren't you coming?" Kagome shook her head

 

"I'm not allowed to sleep in there. It's too "royal" for me." Kagome made quote signs with her fingers. She walked off and InuYasha followed. Kagome turned, "You know we DO have some beds for guests. You can go back." This time InuYasha shook HIS head, "I'll come and keep you company."

 

Kagome climbed up into a tree and levitated InuYasha up after her.

 

"You're a miko?" InuYasha was astonished. Kagome nodded. She settled herself into a branch and fell asleep. InuYasha however stayed awake. 'She's beautiful..' Was his last coherent thought before falling into a dream of mixed things.
