Rin’s POV
I listened to the conversation behind the oak tree of the court yard. I suppose with all the turmoil in the air no one noticed me. That was when I last saw my Lord Sesshomaru. He did not come for me as I thought he would. He did not even show to wish me good luck. But a messenger gave to me a small white fur shawl.
“He said to never forget you are in his protection….and in his heart.” It was the only message Sesshomaru sent me.

As he walked along the border of the lands: North and West, Sesshomaru touched his tail. Rather what was left of it after Rin’s gift. Jaken was a good 3 miles behind where he’d left him. The taiyoukai looked once, twice, made sure no one was around. He sunk to his knees and scraped his claws across his chest.
His heart hurt. The markings on his skin burned. It was a ritual. One that as long as he lived his heart would never be tamed by another…by only his flower…his Rin.
“KUSO!”
Blood dripped onto the earth where his chest bled. She was being wed. Even as he laid there and bled. She was giving herself to another male. Someone who would have her heart for all eternity and therein after. And here he was.
Fragile in mind and spirit. His very soul being torn apart by the fact that she was no longer his and his pride kept him from her. He wouldn’t let this woman run him….he couldn’t. She was too pure….and he…
“M’lord!! You’re wounded!!!” Sesshomaru arose and walked on silently. “Lord Sesshomaru?” He hissed and turned his head to Jaken. “I DON’T NEED YOUR AID!” From there he collapsed and darkness consumed what was left of his heart.

Rin’s POV
My green bonnet blew with the wind. The air so harsh I had to hold onto the brim to keep it settled on my head. The age of the Feudal Era is over. By now we had, I and my mate, begun a journey to England. For what reason Satembo would not allow me the privileged to know. I am still only a woman. Around my shoulders I clung the last article, gift, I had received from my late Lord Sesshomaru. Still his scent is printed on the garment. I digress however. It was not for me to dwell on such lingering thoughts as I turned my head to the ocean.
The Sailors aboard the St. Mary were weary of me. Legend portrays that women are bad luck on a ship. Such a foolish thought. Satembo was in the captain’s quarters whilst I stood on deck. However, my presence as a demon and a demon Lord’s mistress did not pass by the crew unnoticed. It is that fact that lead them to their sudden scrimmage with me on deck.
As a smaller woman, from my Asian heritage, I suppose the thought that I held any strength was baffling, even with my demonic powers bestowed on me from my dear mate. I kicked and thrashed as hard as I could. It was when I was wrenched from the deck into the bowels of the ship that I realized my predicament. Still my strength failed me against the brutes. My bonnet was thrown to the floor, acrid breath smelling of rum and another vile substance I did not want to describe filled my nostrils as my bodice snapped in pudgy and rank fingers.
I was too afraid to make a noise as the men leered as drooled at my body. I could not cover myself for two mean had taken my arms to my sides and made me kneel. A big portly fellow dropped trough in front of me and held out his man hood. I still remember the stench that emitted off of it. He wanted me to perform service for him. I had only done that once to Satembo, during his heat.
“Aye lass, I want ye te suck on my pecker like ye did that ther demon in te capt’m room.” I believe that was his exact words as he thrust the vile appendage in my mouth. Other men were eyeing me, fixing their filthy hands on my bosom as if I was theirs. Not even Satembo made me feel as wrong as these men did. I knew who my body belonged to…it was and forever will be Lord Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru’s POV
It was late in the afternoon when I felt the clinging disturbance with my young ward. My severed appendage was more or less a bond between us. She was in trouble. I could feel it in my very soul. It burned me. I swallowed hard. I was in the presence of my brother and his mate. She was also Hanyou. A trick preformed only through a blood bond. Once, I thought Rin would be at my side as Kagome was at Inuyasha’s. It was not to be.
“Hey Sesshomaru! Hello in there? You wanted to ask us something’?” Always coarse, my brother. We had grown quite fond of each other after Naraku had been destroyed. We were at the well, he and his son were to stay in Kagome’s time for a while. The child was going to be schooled there.
“I had come to see how my nephew was before you took them to the future once more, brother.”
A young twelvish boy ran about from the trees then, dressed in clothing from Kagome’s time. Jean and a blue T-shirt I believe she called them. He ran without shoes, I remember, hating the things just like his father did. Heiwa is his name.
“Hello uncle Sesshomaru!” He ran next to me, and I lifted a hand to brush it through his black hair, just as long as his father’s but ruffled like his kind-hearted mother’s.
“Hello nephew…” “You look pale…” A pain struck me, ebbing upward from my tail to my chest. I fell to my knees, clawing at my heart. She was in pain. My Rin was in pain. I could hear my brother calling out to me, his mate beginning to panic. Then I heard it, the very sound ripped through my soul. She was screaming…screaming my name.

Rin’s POV
“Sesshomaru!!!! Sesshomaru!!!!” I thrashed as the ruffians tore my clothes from my body. My mind racing as to why no one had heard me, why my mate or Sesshomaru had not come to my aid. The cold, damp wooden floor of the lower deck felt harsh to my skin. A sudden growling erupted from a corner in the room. My shawl was no longer there but stood a large with dog. Purple stripes littered his body and red eyes cast a feral glance at the shipmates.
“Release her.” It growled low in the inu tongue.
“’Tis another demon!” I scrambled behind the dog, it’s tail offering me some coverage from the still leering eyes. “Keep behind me Rin.” It growled again. The odd tone of it’s voice reminding me so much of… “Sesshomaru-sama?”
Satembo’s blood red eyes gleamed from the top door of the lower deck. “Mate…”
