“Miroku stop acting like a child!” Sango yelled as her boyfriend continued to ignore her. When she got back home, he had been asleep in their bed. She crawled in beside him and tried to snuggle but he just turned away from her. Now it was Saturday morning and he was sitting on the couch not saying a word to her.

“Miroku I had to go get Kagome, she was stranded at a night club with Kouga,” She said, standing in front of him and blocking his view of the television.

Miroku sighed and looked up at her. Kagome was his friend too and he would never want anything bad to happen to her. If Sango going to get her helped her out of a bad situation then he couldn't really be mad. Nevertheless, he was; he was upset because his girlfriend worked all the time and their lovemaking had turned from something beautiful to something Sango used to stop him from whining. Whenever he complained that she wasn't spending time with him she would just bed him and get right back up to keep on working. It was really starting to irritate him.

“Was Kagome okay?” He asked, sounding defeated.

“I found her walking up the road just to get away from Kouga. It turns out that some girl was in the club and made a huge scene because apparently she and Kouga were involved.” She sat down on the coffee table in front of him.

“How involved?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.

“The girl screamed that they were supposed to be getting married. Then Kouga came out in the parking lot looking for Kagome and the girl followed him. Kagome said the girl really gave Kouga a piece of her mind; slapped him and everything.”

“Sounds like he had it coming,” Miroku said.

“Yeah, so you see I had to go,” she said, looking triumphant.

“Sango you can't hide behind that. I love Kagome like a sister, but she could have called Inuyasha.”

“You really think Inuyasha would have cared enough to go and get her?” Sango asked looking at him as if he were ridiculous.

“I doubt Inuyasha would have let her stay out there. You know he's not as cold hearted as he pretends to be. But it's not just Kagome; it's your job too. You're always glued to your computer when you're not at the office and I'm sitting here in front of the TV,” he stated calmly.

“I'm one of the best employees and you want me to give that up?” She asked, angrily.

“No, but that doesn't mean you can't find time for me. Kagome is one of the best employees too and she found time to go on a date with Kouga. When was the last time we went on a date?”

Sango couldn't answer him because she couldn't remember. She didn't think things had gotten so bad. She didn't even know he felt this way. When had this happen? When had they gotten so distant?

“Sango you're bordering on being a workaholic,” He said, seriously. And all she could do was look at him.

Kagome sighed as the answering machine beeped at the end of another message from Kouga. She had been getting them all night and all morning. Inuyasha had tried to throw it against the wall. When she had finally managed to calm him calm down, Kouga called again. This time Inuyasha answered the phone and proceed to let lose a string of curse words that would have made anyone blush.

She actually had to walk over to the wall and unplug the phone because the argument they were having was getting pretty heated. Inuyasha fumed and swore all the way back to his room and slammed the door. When he emerged ten minutes later he was wearing jeans that complimented his legs and another part of him Kagome caught herself staring at when he was turned around. He also had on an old white t-shirt that showed off his chest and muscled arms.

She knew he was going to work out because he had his gym bag slung over his shoulder and mumbled about being back later as he stomped out of the apartment. She was moved that he cared so much about her situation with Kouga, though it probably had something to do with them not liking each other to begin with. Still, it was nice the way he defended her. He worked out hardest when he was angry; she knew this from personal experience. The last time she went out with Kouga and he heard about what happened, he stayed at the gym from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon.

It stopped him from going medieval on Kouga but it did nothing for his attitude. He was grouchy and cranky for the next two days after that and it made her seriously consider going to stay with Sango for a while. It had gotten better but she had no desire to go through that again. Luckily, Inuyasha was easily swayed by his stomach, and especially by ramen. It was like giving him a happy pill, and with that in mind, she hurried to the store.

Kouga was really put out. He didn't know what to do to win Kagome back and that argument with Inuyasha hadn't helped anything either. He panicked when he turned around on the dance floor and saw that she was gone. He knew she couldn't go anywhere because he had drove, but it was like she had disappeared.

Flashback

“Kagome!” He shouted outside of the club trying to find his date and apologize.

“Kouga tell me what's going on!” Ayame demanded as she pulled his shirt and pushed him. He just wouldn't pay any attention to her.

“Kagome!” He called out again.

“I'm your woman not her!” This gained his attention he immediately turned on her.

“I told you before Ayame, I am not marrying you! It was a business move our parents came up with but that doesn't mean I have to go along with it!” He yelled in her face.

“But you promised me!” She yelled back.

“To shut you up! I said so you would leave me alone. Why would I want a whiny little thing like you?” And that's when she slapped him. He would never hit a woman but he had to get out of there before he did something that he would regret.

He spent the better part of the night driving around and searching for his missing date but did not find her. When he finally decided to go home, he called her all night just to make sure she was safe at home, but he got no answer. He tried again the next morning but she still would not talk to him. Her roommate however, answered the phone and they argued for a while until the phone went dead.

End Flashback

He would just have to catch her at work on Monday.

Kagome bustled around the kitchen with her apron on trying to put together this recipe. It was very simple but still complicated in many ways. It was simple in the sense that it only took fifteen minutes to prep and cook and all she would need to cook it was some aluminum foil and a cookie sheet. But complicated in the sense that it needed a lot of ingredients that required chopping so it took her more than fifteen minutes to prep it.

She tapped the recipe she had printed out to the cabinet she was facing and followed it thusly…

Form pieces of foil into bowl like pouches and stack ingredients in on top of dried ramen noodles, in this order.

She divided one half cup of dried, chopped mushrooms into each of the four pouches on top of the noodles. Twenty large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined. She put five pieces of shrimp into each pouch.

Kagome couldn't have been prouder of herself as she stared at the four little pouches that were ready to go into the oven. And the best part about the recipe was there was really no clean up since it could be eaten out of the pouches themselves. If this didn't take Inuyasha out of his bad mood she didn't know what would.

It was Monday and that meant it was time to go back to the rat race. Getting up and getting ready to go was as easy as she could have asked it to be that morning. When Inuyasha came home on Saturday afternoon, her special surprise was waiting on him. Just like she had hoped, the meal made him happy and it was a great relief because the moment he walked in the door she could feel the bad vibes radiating off him. So she immediately directed him to the kitchen to get his dinner. It was like another Inuyasha was waiting in the kitchen to replace him because when he came out his attitude was completely different.

He looked pleasant and happy as he slurped the noodles up and shoved pieces of shrimp into his mouth. Kagome took advantage of him concentrating on his food to notice that he had changed clothes at the gym. He was in a tight black tank top with black sweat pants on and looked amazing with his hair pulled back. She could tell that had worked out hard because sweat still glistened on his body and she had to stop herself from drooling into her food. He had complimented her, as much as he could without seeming unlike himself.

`Not half bad wench, I guess you are good at something.'

She decided not to take offense to that seeing as how she had managed to get him into a pretty good mood. She also went back into the kitchen and saved that recipe. The weekend had gone by smoothly after that and she was ready to work again. She was on time and in her office before Sango for once! Until her boss came and knocked on the door.

“Higurashi, your partner Ganjou has taken some time off for personal reasons. I'm replacing her on the Tohomiko project with Hidaka.” Kouga walked in and gave her a smile.

A/N: That is a real recipe by the way. It's called Ramen Shrimp Pouch. I can't wait to try it myself, but without the mushrooms! Yuck!
