Chapter 5: Not now

Kagome walked next to Omi as they were walking away from the village. He didn't say pretty much anything but told her to follow him. So now here they were walking away from the village to get some privacy and talk. She was just wondering why he was here when she bumped into something and fell on her butt.

"What the hell?" she looked up and saw Omi. He had stopped in front of her and she had ran straight into him. When he turned around a smug grin was on her face.

"Always was the clumsy one, weren't you Kagome"

"Oh, shut up and give me a hand." Omi outstretched his hand and helped her up. Being so close when he pulled her to his feet there faces were only a couple of inches away from each other. Kagome was so entranced with his beautiful green eyes that she didn't notice a hand creeping to her butt.

She was brought out of her daze when she felt it. Omi was patting her butt. In two seconds flat Omi was laying on the floor rubbing his cheek

"What the hell do you think you're doing. Grabbing my ass like that you pervert."

"Damn Kagome I was just trying to help you clean the dirt off of your bottom" he stood up and gave her a grin.

"Oh, yeah. Kagome why don't i help you get up and in the mean time why don't i grab your butt on the way"

"Ah, just like the old days."

"What the hell did you bring me back here for?"

At her question Omi's face turned serious. Had she said something wrong. She watched as he approached her with...no...it couldn't possibly be...sorrow.

"Kagome"he gently toke her hand in his.

"yes" she asked hesitantly.

"It's time"

"what?"

"You heard me. It's time"

Everthing seemed to stop when he said this. No... it couldn't be time. She for once finally felt like she belonged somewhere and now it was being taken away from her. Her friends, her family, her....Inuyasha. She whispered no and toke her hand away from Omi's. She toke a couple steps away from Omi. 'No. I can't. It's...its. It's not fare. How could I do it. I don't want to. But I have to. it's destiny. a destiny that i set for myself a long time ago. It was the promise she had to keep to him. To Omi.

~Flashback~

It was a cold and stormy night. No creature would never venture in this kind of weather. But through all of the rain you could see two figures struggling through the rain. One was slightly shorter than the other with black midnight hair and many wounds scorning her body. The other was a tall man with blonde hair and green eyes that pierced the night. He looked better than the other and was carrying her.

He ran through the rain and watched as the rain splattered his face making it harder to see. He had watched it all. He had watched as a figure in a white baboon suit slaughtered his family. Her family. He looked down at the woman that he cared for so much in his arms. She was pale as snow. While he was trying to save the people off his kingdom and family he failed to notice her fighting the white baboon figure. When it looked as she was about to win when a tentacle like thing sprouted from under his pelt and went right through her abdomen. He managed to save her after he cut the tentacle.

Now here he was running like his life depended on it towards the last thing that could help them. A well. It was said to have magical powers to send people to the future. Though no person from his home had ever tried it he had to try.

He sighed when he saw that he was approaching it. When he was right in front of it he stopped and gently set her down and tried to wake her up.

"Come on wake up" he shook her shoulder while pleading with her to wake up. He stopped when he saw that she was awakening.

"uhh. where am i"

"it's okay. Im here" he gently stroked her face.

"did...did he finish them off"

"im afraid so. they are all gone"

"my family...no" she now had lost everything. Her family, her home, everything. she felt the tears sting her eyes. but she couldn't. the pain from her wound was to much off a distraction.

He watched her as she struggled to not cry. Her wounds were terrible even for a person like her. the people at his home were kind of her family. when he was six he had found her crying under a tree. when he went to find out why she was crying he found out the villagers had beat her to a bloody pulp because of how she looked. He could recall seeing her wings for the first time. it was amazing. she was something he never imagined he would see. these creatures were only legends. he had found a angel.

After that he convinced her to go with him to his mother. Because his father was the lord of the southern lands they lived in a castle with a secret entrance that he only knew about. His mother had taken her in even though she was a creature of legend. and after the years he had grown fond of her. she was trianed and scholared like a man was and they would spend every waking minute together. He was there when she had her first crush, and her first heartbreak. That had lead them to become closer. Way closer. But because they were best friends they decided to out that night behind them. he had even gone as far as going through the painful and four month process of becoming like her. an angel.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he saw her cough up blood. he had to do it now. He gently picked her up and set her on the lip of the well. he lifted her head so she was looking at him.

"come on now pay attention. were at the well" this caught her attention.

"the well. why are we here"

"the only way i can save you is if you go through it"

"what?why? you can't. you don't know if it works"

"trust me i know. please just do it. for me"

"but.." he silenced her by placing a finger against her lips.

"trust me."

"....ok"

"know you have to promise me something"

"anything"

"When you go through the well you will be reborn again. but because you are weak now you will be reborn as a human. On your fifteen birthday you will come back and be at full strength but your human body will not be able to handle it. so when the time is right i will come back for you. for all i know you will have fallen in love or have a new family. i want you to promise me that when i come for you will come with me to get revenge for our family"

"I promise"

He pressed her body against his and hugged her for the last time. It was time. He gave her a squeeze and then kissed her cheek. When he did that a mark appeared on both of there necks. A blue star. It would keep them forever linked to one another.

He then whispered his last words into her ear before he had to give her away.

"I love you, Kagome."

Then he pushed her down the well and watched as she reached out to him. She screamed something from her heart at him.

"No, Omi. I love you!"

And then in a flash she was gone.

~End of Flashback~

Kagome rememered it clearly. She just couldn't. But she had to remind herself.

'She had made a promise that she had no intention of breaking. She would reget it but she promised. It was time'
