Hi guys! Sorry for the mix up. When I put `Completed' I meant that the chapter was completed…oppsie.

 

Chapter 2

 

The well house was just the same the last time Kagome had been in it five years ago. A thick coating of dust covered the floor. Kagome sighed and walked slowly down the stairs to the well. She bent down and ran a finger across the top, gathering dust on her finger. The jewel shard she sensed was gone, completely gone.

 

“Must have been my imagination,” Kagome said standing up, she stretched, “How could a jewel shard be here? I left the uncompleted Shikon no Tama with Inuyasha. I wonder how he's doing? Probably with Kikyo,” She frowned at the mention of her incarnation's name.

 

Oh well, She thought. Kagome exited the well house and walked over to the back door of her house. She slid it open and entered. Walking over to the coffee machine and poured herself a cup of coffee.

 

The odd sensation of sensing a jewel shard came back to Kagome, almost making her drop her coffee. She put the cup on the counter and hurried out of the house. The jewel shard was coming from the well house!

 

“I was just in there,” Kagome muttered, running towards the old hut. She opened the door and ran inside, the jewel shard was coming from inside of the well.

 

Kagome tore the sutras off of the well and pushed the top of the well to the floor. She leaned over the wells edge, looking down. She couldn't see a thing, no one was down there, no pinkish purple glow, nothing. She knew there was a jewel shard down there.

 

“Where is it?” Kagome said aloud.

 

Right on cue, she saw the pinkish purple glow coming towards her fast. A huge youkai launched itself at Kagome from inside the well. She screamed and fell back, the youkai made a swipe for her. Kagome rolled out of the way just in time.

 

“Miko,” The youkai hissed, “You're coming with me,” The pinkish purple glowed brightly in the youkai's neck. That's the shard I sensed. Kagome thought.

 

“Excuse me,” Kagome said getting up, “I'm not going anywhere,”

 

“Master told me to get you whether you like it or not,” The youkai lunged for Kagome, grabbing her around the waist. She struggled against him as he jumped into the well. No, Kagome thought, hitting the youkai on his arm, I can't be going back to the Feudal Era.

 

“I can't,” Kagome said, “I WON'T!” She pushed the youkai's head away from her. A soft light came from her hand making the youkai scream in agony. Kagome grinned; it was like when Mistress Centipede pulled her down the well when she was fifteen. She hit the youkai again. And again, the same light came from her hand. The youkai let go of Kagome screeching in pain.

 

The two landed at the bottom of the well, the youkai still screeching, “You bitch!” He yelled, “I'm sorry, Master. I have failed you,” With one last howl, he slowly disinagrated into ash. Leaving the jewel shard.

 

Kagome sighed as she picked up the shard, she was back. As much as she hated to admit it, Kagome was kind of glad she was back. Maybe she would be able to see Sango and Miroku again. And, if she was lucky, Inuyasha.

 

Kagome pocketed the shard in her jeans and grabbed the vines. She grunted, pulling herself up. It was a lot easier getting out of the well when Inuyasha helped me, Kagome thought. Finally, she reached the top.

 

“I'm back,” She said looking around. She took a deep breath, the air smelled so clean here. A lot cleaner than in her time. She slowly made her way to Kaede's village. I wonder if Sango and Miroku are married. Probably, I know they loved each other when I was last here. Even if they didn't admit it…

 

Ten minutes later, Kagome reached the old village. She smiled; it was exactly like she remembered.

 

“I'm back,” She said again. Laughing, Kagome took off running towards Kaede's hut. Or what used to be Kaede's hut, she wasn't sure if the old miko was still alive, “Hello?” Kagome knocked on the wood before sticking her head into the hut. A kitsune with red hair sat on a mat staring at the dying fire.

 

He looked over at Kagome, his eyes widening, “Kagome?”

 

“Shippou!” Shippou got up and ran over to the girl, hugging her.

 

“It's you!” He cried, “You came back! Sango! Sango!” Kagome laughed hugging the kitsune back.
