InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Confusing Scenarios ❯ The Flirt ( Chapter 4 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
A/N: Okay I'm really sorry this took so long but I have a good excuse this time. I'd written this whole chapter and was intending to make it longer when my computer crashed. I waited for about a month for my parents to fix the computer so I could recover this chapter when I realized that wasn't going to happen. So the last couple days I've been rewriting this whole thing. I hope chapter four was worth the wait ^^'
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha
Sango turned around curious to see what her roommate looked like. It didn't take her long to recognize him as the flirt and from the cold look he was giving her Sango knew he recognized her too. “So you're Sano Watanabe?”
For a minute Sango stood there not responding partly because she had forgotten all about the alias Kouga had given her and partly because she was too busy taking in the flirt's appearance. She didn't like admitting it but she could see why those girls had all been flirting with him. He was very handsome even while he was glaring at her. His dark purple eyes were beautiful even though they were filled with nothing but contempt for her. He was tall almost a head taller then her (and Sango was one of the taller girls at her old school) and his long silky looking black hair was placed in a pony tail. Sango could tell he put more into taking care of his hair than most guys. She noticed him give her a funny look and realized not only had she been staring at him but she still hadn't answered his question. “Yes, and you're Miroku Yoshida” Sango said matter-of-factly.
“Correct but it's Yoshida-san to you Watanabe.” Miroku said.
Sango scoffed “and why should I address you as san?” Sango asked. Miroku maybe attractive but his personality wasn't and Sango didn't let people walk all over her just because they were good looking.
“Because I've been at this school much longer then you and it appears as though I'm older than you.” Miroku said looking a little smug. “You should respect your superiors Watanabe.”
“You think you're superior to me?” Sango asked with her eye brows raises in disbelief.
“You got it! I can tell you're a smart one Watanabe.” Miroku said mockingly and with a smirk on his face Sango found very irritating.
“Well that's one thing you're right about.” Sango said as she crossed her arms. Miroku stopped smirking, there had almost been an air of playfulness to his insults before but now he was completely serious. He leaned in so his face was very close to Sango's and said in a low voice “You don't want to be picking fights with me, Watanabe.” It was very intimidating but Sango didn't lose face. “Whatever, I wasn't trying to.” Sango said.
Miroku then moved away from her. There was something about Sano that bothered him. He had only known Sano a little while but he could already tell he was very unusual. For one thing he was the prettiest boy Miroku had ever seen. And he had seen pretty boys before but Sano was the first to have struck him as girl pretty. His features were soft his mouth and eyes especially. He was short too. If Miroku hadn't seen Sano in a boy's uniform he might have actually thought he was a girl. Miroku decided it was better if he didn't think much about that though. He turned toward the bunk bed and saw Sano's bag on the top bunk. He picked it up and dropped it on the floor. “Top bunk's mine.” He said.
“But your stuffs all over the bottom one!” Sango cried. Miroku just ignored her and climbed the latter up to the top bunk. He laid down with his eyes closed and hands behind his head. “Just move it onto my desk.” Miroku said gesturing toward the desk in front of the window.
“Why should I put away your stuff?” Sango asked irritated.
“Because I'm not going to and I assume that you don't want to be sleeping on top of it.” Miroku said. Sango sighed people certainly liked telling her what to do lately. She saw that once again she was going to have to do as she was told and went to move Miroku's books to the desk. As she was moving them Miroku opened his eyes and turned his toward her. “Ooh” Miroku said to get her attention, Sango looked over at him looking annoyed. “When you're done I don't want you ever touching my things again.”
Sango sighed and continued putting the books away “Don't worry I have no interest in ever laying another hand on you things. In fact I'll be happy not to.” Sango said. Miroku moved his head back on top of his hands and closed his eyes looking happy with her response. `He's fun to get riled up.' Was his final thought before drifting off into a light sleep.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The next day Sango had hoped to get up early so she could shower first and have enough time to bind her chest. But it seemed that Miroku was a much earlier bird than she was and when she woke up he was already in the shower. So she had to just sit and wait for him to be done. After sitting there waiting for nearly an hour Sango was beginning to think he was taking his sweet time just to make her late. When he finally emerged from the bathroom Sango dashed in and locked the door knowing she had only twenty minutes to shower, bind her chest, get dressed, run over to the school building and find her first period class. `Great looks like I'm going to be late my first day' Sango thought as she began possibly the fastest shower of her life.
Remarkably Sango was able to make it to class only about five minutes late and lucky for her the teacher hadn't shown up yet so it didn't matter that she was late anyway. She sighed with relief on entering the classroom and took an empty desk on the far left side on the classroom in the third row. She looked around at her new classmates; most of them were standing around chatting. In the back of the classroom Sango saw Miroku talking to a group of guys including the most unusual looking boy she'd ever seen.
While Miroku was standing beside him this boy was slouched back in his desk. The first thing that struck her as odd about him was his long silver hair, then there were his piercing yellow eyes almost like a cat's, and when he spoke Sango could see fangs.
“Alright boys to your seats.” Said a voice coming from the front of the class. Sango turned around to see her new teacher as he walked to his desk and put down his brief case. She heard a mumbled “yes Ito-sensei” from most of the class. Ito-sensei picked up the attendance and began to go through it. She didn't listen much to most of the names until she heard him repeat the name “Kato” three times. It wasn't until after the fifth time he repeated it that the teacher gave a heavy sigh before yelling “Inuyasha!”
With that the silver haired boy in the back of the class shot up from his laid back position in surprise (Sango could tell he'd been asleep). “Ugh… yea teach I'm here.” Inuyasha said as he used one hand to rub the sleep from his eyes and the other to rub his ears in an attempt to stop the ringing. “Do you always have to yell like that, you know I'm here!”
“Do you always have to fall asleep in my class Kato?” Ito-sensei asked. Inuyasha shrugged and laid back in his desk again. After that Ito-sensei continued with the attendance. Sano Watanabe was one of the last names he called. “Here” Sango said.
“It's good to see a new face.” Ito-sensei said to Sango before addressing everyone else. “In case you didn't noticed,” He said sounding like he thought they hadn't “Sano Watanabe here is a new student.” He motioned toward Sango and a few of the boys looked over at her. Most however, Inuyasha and Miroku for example, weren't paying attention. “Try to make him feel welcome.” Ito-sensei finished and then began his lesson which turned out to be a rather boring one.
The rest of Sango's morning was taken up by more boring lessons until it was time for lunch which she had both been dreading and anticipating. Sango was starving after having skipped breakfast because she had to wait so long for Miroku to get out of the shower. But while she was looking forward to some food she feared standing there awkwardly in the middle of the lunch room looking for a table to eat at. Sadly though it was unavoidable and after getting her serving of curry and rice Sango was left standing alone searching for a place to sit.
She glanced around the tables for an empty one, she saw a couple freshman tables, a group of juniors, and she noticed Miroku, Inuyasha, and a number of other seniors talking happily in the center of the lunch room. Sango sighed. `If only I had a nice friendly roommate who I could sit with.' Sango thought as she watched Miroku and his friends laughing. Finally Sango spotted an empty table in the corner of the lunchroom. She dashed over, sat down quickly, and began to dig into her rice. `With any luck I'll be left alone' Sango thought. But as I'm we've all noticed Sango has had very little luck lately.
“Hey!” Sango looked up to see a cheery looking freshmen boy standing at the other side of the table. “Mind if I sit?” He said as he began to put his tray down and sit across from her. “I'm Shippo.” He said. Shippo was a short, orange haired, freckled boy with bright green eyes and although Sango had wanted to be left alone Shippo didn't seem like bad company.
“Sano Watanabe.” Sango said, still eating.
“Are you a new freshman here too?” He asked.
“I'm new but I'm a senior.” Sango said. Shippo looked very surprised.
“Really?” He asked.
“Yea” Sango said. She understood Shippo's surprise. Her feminine features probably made her look young for a boy.
“Ooh…” said Shippo, “Well I've only been here about a week. I haven't really made any friends but I've got a pretty good feel for the place.” Sango didn't make any reply, but Shippo didn't seem to care he just kept rambling while Sango continued eating occasionally nodding along with what he was saying. He babbled mostly about school his classes, activities, and his roommate. “So who's your roommate?” Shippo asked.
“Miroku Yoshida.” Sango said.
“Miroku Yoshida's your roommate?!” Shippo sounded almost as shocked as when he learned she was a senior.
“Yea” Sango said confused by his reaction.
“What's he like?” Shippo asked.
“Umm well… I guess I'd say he's a rude arrogant skirt chasing punk.” Sango replied sounding irritated by even the thought of him.
“Ooh not surprising I guess.” Shippo said with a shrug.
“What do you mean?” Sango asked.
“Well Miroku's known for being a player and he's gotta be the second toughest guy in school. It figures he'd be a little pig headed.” Shippo said.
“He's more than a little pig headed.” Sango said. “Is he really the second toughest guy in school?” Sango asked a little surprised.
“Yea, I mean he has to be. He's Inuyasha's right hand man.” Shippo said.
“Huh?” Sango said, she was completely lost.
“Inuyasha he heads the Hanyou gang and Miroku is second in command.” Shippo said.
“They're in a gang!?” Sango said really surprised this time.
“Yea. I guess I should explain. You see this school is full of gang's, it's a pretty lose term around here. Every group of guys here call's themselves a gang but they're basically just clicks. The only one with any real street credit is the Hanyou gang. Most of the guys in it like Inuyasha and Miroku have this grudge against some big city gang. But I don't really know much about that. Anyway what I'm saying is that Inuyasha is the toughest guy in school, Miroku is his best friend and the two of them are by far better fighters than anyone else in this school.” Shippo said.
Sango turned to look over at Miroku. He was still sitting with Inuyasha and his other friends, laughing and goofing around. He didn't seem like the type of guy you'd find in a gang even though he had threatened her and was a total jerk. The cheerful guy laughing loudly among his friend's just didn't seem like he could be a cold thug in the infamous `Hanyou gang'. Sango turned back around to Shippo.
“Wow” She said not quite sure what she was amazed by. Maybe it was what Shippo had just told her, maybe it was that the happy looking Miroku she was just staring at was the same arrogant Miroku who had done nothing but hassle her since she'd met him. Perhaps it was even just that she'd actually made it through most of her school day without anyone realizing she was a girl. Whatever it was Shippo seemed to understand. “Yea” He said.
A/N: I'm sorry this chapter was so short originally it was going to be have a lot more in it but I felt bad taking so long to update so I guess I'll save that stuff for chapter five. Reviews are greatly appreciated and really encourage me to right more. Also about the whole san argument at the beginning of the chapter I don't know if that made sense to anyone or if I'm miss interpreting the meaning of san. But I've been taking Japanese for
about a year now and I think what I put was okay. If anyone knows different let me know.
