[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Drip Drip
Small splatters of crimson blood dropped onto the forest floor, making a messy trail. A female grimaced as she moved through the darkening forest slowly. The girl was wounded, blood everywhere. "Those damn bastards..." Her voice was quiet-but angry-as she spoke through her gritted teeth. "Bastards..."
A long black tail drooped behind her, trailing in the dirt. The girl stopped and leaned against a tree, sinking down to the ground. A clawed hand touched the wound at her stomach, wincing at the unstinting pain. The female coughed a bit. As she lowered her hand, she noticed a few spots of blood. She wiped away the small splats of blood on her chin, cursing under her breath. Soon, the girl's eyes began to droop, from loss of blood. She uttered a single statement, before passing out.
"You'll regret that, Inu no Taisho."
---
"I need to though!! I have to study!!"
"Well then, study here!"
Screams of "OSUWARI!" followed by a loud bang sounded. Nothing uncommon in the area. Today, nothing was different. Miroku made several attempts to grope Sango, who in return slapped him. Kirara and Shippo would stay quiet, as InuYasha and Kagome yelled at each other.
"Hmph!" Kagome, who was now 16, stomped down the path way, Miroku and Sango close behind.
"Feh," muttered InuYasha into the ground. When the glow of the beads died down, he jumped to his feet swiftly, brushing himself off. He began to walk behind the others when a new scent hit his sensitive nose. It was definately the scent of a demon, but there was something different about it. Not only did it smell like a demon, but it seemed as though there was a second scent mixed with it that was stronger. The scent of a wet rose.
/Thunk/
A small shuriken whizzed past InuYasha's ear, slicing off a few strands of hair, before driving into a large tree. InuYasha instantly pulled out his trusty Tetsusaiga, stepping into a sloppy defensive stance. There was a small glint in the shadows of the trees, before 3 more shuriken flew at him. He dodged to the one side, but one nipped his shoulder, slicing a small hole in his sleeve and causing a red stain to show on the white shirt underneath.
"Oi! Stop throwing those things at me and show yerself ya' bastard!" InuYasha raged. He thought he heard a soft scoff from in the shadows, as a slim figure jumped down from the trees, and advanced into the light.
"Are you the son of the Inu no Taisho?" asked a cold, but definitely feminine voice. A slim girl stepped into the light, a long black staff in hand. Her ebony locks were pulled back from her pale face. Her eyes were like two coals that swallowed the pupil. The girl had one black marking from her under each tear duct, trailing downwards. As she walked towards InuYasha, she showed no fear, stepping steadily. She wore bandages wrapped up to mid thigh, black leggings underneath, shown by the split in her crimson skirt. Her shirt showed her stomach, and was also crimson. The girl continued to walk towards InuYasha, stopping about a meter from him. He could clearly see the black collar around her pale neck. With every movement she made, the chains upon it shook.
InuYasha scowled at the newcomer. "Who wants to know?!" he questioned gruffly. The girl frowned, pointing the staff at him. A small silver bell on the tip of it jingled quietly.
"Are you the son of the Inu no Taisho?" She repeated the question, harsher this time. For a moment, it seemed as though her black eyes flashed a deep crimson red.
"Well?" Her long tail swished impatiently - wait, tail? Scowling, InuYasha stared at the tail, only to realize that -
"You're a half demon too..." The girl glared at his comment.
"So? Are you the son of the Inu no Taisho's or not?!"
"Yeah..." InuYasha informed with a small huff.
"Then I must kill you." With that, the girl charged at InuYasha with incredible speed. Confused, InuYasha only managed to barely dodge the attack as the black staff was swung at him.
InuYasha made a grab for the Tetsusaiga, but when he pulled it out to block one of her attacks, he found it was in its rusty state. Cursing, he pushed away the staff again, and dodged. His sword was useless and his friends had gone off.
'I'm only protecting myself here...' He thought to himself. He growled and took a few steps back, the girl's rapid blows ceasing. "Huh?"
The girl had lowered her head, long black bangs covering her eyes. Her staff was in one hand, resting the one tip on the ground. He saw her hand go back, and something shine in it. Before he could react, she threw 5 small shuriken at him. They spun and glinted in the sun, moving quickly through the air. He braced himself, for they were moving to quickly for him to dodge.
"This is the end for you," She said this quietly. Inuyasha blinked for a moment, holding his breath, waiting. Waiting, but the hit never got to him.
There stood Kagome, the five shuriken all halfway into her chest. Blood seeped onto her blouse. She shook, and her knees gave out. InuYasha quickly grabbed her.
"K-Kagome... What did you do that for?!" His eyes widened at the purple mixture mixed with her blood. 'Poison.'
"I'm sorry, InuYasha... But you were going to be hurt. I never planned to go home for too long," She coughed, a small amount of blood came out. Her hand was shaking as she admitted, "I'm sorry, and I love you." She smiled at him, closing her eyes.
"W-wait, no, Kagome! No, you, no! You can't die, please!" InuYasha's eyes filled with tears, as he clutched Kagome's body to his, "I love you too..." Kagome opened her eyes once more, before shutting them, then her breath stopped coming. A single tear dropped onto her cheek.
"Y-you BITCH! You killed her!!" InuYasha, still clutching Kagome's dead body, screamed and glared at the girl. Her eyes were wide, and she seemed to be trembling slightly. She took a step back, before running off with immense speed.
With that, Miroku and Sango came running over, only to see a dead Kagome, and a crying InuYasha. The rest was history.
---
"Damnit.." The girl was still shaking, as she speed through the trees.
"Damn it!!" She yelled, stopping finally on a branch.
"What's wrong Kuro-chan?" A second voice piped up, as a second girl landed on the branch beside her.
"I killed a human... She got in the way of the Inu no Taisho's son..." She lowered her eyes, sighing. She hated killing humans, and never tried to hurt them. Demons and half demons were strong enough to protect themselves, but humans... She had a soft spot for them, probably because she was half human.
"Oh, I see," the second girl gave her a sympathetic smile, placing a hand on her friend's shoulder.
-FLASHBACK-
Ina silently looked back at the village she had been raised in. Her hair was black and went to her buttocks. Her blue eyes looked over the top of a thin-rimmed pair of glasses. She wore a black men's kimono with a blue hexagonal flower design on the left shoulder and the sleeves. She had purple slash markings on her cheeks, wrists, hips around her back, and ankles. She also held a green star on her forehead. Instead of an obi, a silver tail-her tail-with black tiger stripes held her Hakama up and her shirt closed.
Ina's face held a small smile as she heard the terrified screams and yells of the people in the village as fire raged throughout it. If anyone were to escape, the fire dogs would kill them. She said quietly as she turned to leave, “They began my hatred. They end because of it.” She silently walked away, her pointed ears twitching slightly as she continued to listen to the screams.
Ina thought about all the times that she was shunned for being a demon. She thought about the way that both her mother and the villagers glared at her. She thought about what she was hearing of the screams dying down and-wait…Why couldn't she hear the crackle of flames anymore?
A sealing arrow hit Ina in the shoulder, pinning her to a tree. She looked at the figure that had shot her…`Mother…' The surroundings faded. Ina's eyes drooped and she slumped over, sealed away until she was to be freed.

Ina opened her eyes, adjusting her spectacles slightly as she looked at the girl that was staring at her, the arrow that was had been pinning her to the tree in her hand. The girl had a black tail that dragged on the floor and a wound across her stomach. She had coal black eyes stared into hers. Ina glanced see the black collar around her pale neck. With every movement the girl made, the chains upon it shook.
“What is your name?” Ina asked, seemingly calm.
“I am Kurobara.”
“Black rose…That's a very good name…” Ina slipped down from her spot on the tree, adjusting the kimono she herself wore. “It's a pleasure to meet you.”
“and a pleasure to meet you, Ina-San. I've heard much of your skills.”
“Why did you free me…?”
“I would like to you to join me.”
“As in…Become my friend?”
“I know, you probably have many followers…”
“None at all.”
“Well, I'd enjoy being the first.”
Ina bowed respectfully. “Thank you, Kuro-Chan.”
“It's no trouble, Ina-Chan.”
Ina grinned. “Well…” She began a hyper fast mass of words that Kurobara shouldn't understand.
“Wha…?” Kurobara asked.
“What do you want to do? Why are you wounded? Who hurt you? Why am I wanted as a friend? How did you hear of me?”
“Umm…Reap revenge, I was fighting, the Inu no Taisho, you seem nice and powerful, and everyone today knows about how you were trained hard then sealed.”
“Oh. Okay.”
-END OF FLASHBACK-
"So the one son got off, ne?"
"Yes." Kurobara sat down on the branch, her back against the thick trunk of the tree. She placed her head on her knees, guilt overwhelming her. Ina sat down too, holding her friend's staff, her legs dangling over the side of the branch.
"Then we have to deal with the other son," Ina whispered to herself.
