It took her a while to recover from the shock after realizing he was actually gone. Sesshomaru, her Lord Sesshomaru had left her. Without even telling her...A lump formed in Rin's throat, and she suddenly felt anger and confusion mix with all the thoughts that began to swarm through her head.
"He left me? Why that jerk! What could he possibly have to do that is so important that he would be gone for three days?" Rin yelled later to Jaken who stared at her with annoyance. The toad-like retainer shook his head.
"How should I know? He is a lord with duties after all! Would you stop moping around and bothering everyone by your huffs and complaints?" Jaken barked and stuck his face up in the air as he waddled away.
Rin scowled and watched him leave. 'Huffs and complaints...I know, but they don't realize how it felt. I probably look so childish right now. What would Sesshomaru think? I have tried to be patient...but after that look he gave me, I can't stop thinking about him. Does he realize how much I worry about him? I am angry that he did not consult me first, but...'
"Rin, tell me this...am I doing things right?" his questions ran through her head as she headed to her quarters. "...What...do you think of me?" Rin shook her head at remembering how his eyes had lit up at her reply.
"I think you are amazing milord!"
"You do? Well ...you are the first person to have said that. Except for Jaken that is...and I don't give a damn about what he thinks." Rin looked at the ground as she sat down upon her bed after entering her room.
"...you are the first person to have said that."
'Lord Sesshomaru? Is that true? Am I the first person? Do you not know what it is like to feel love?'
"Ugh! Why is it I feel this way? Shouldn’t I be angry with him? But why won't my heart let me? I hope he returns soon, but with this weather...something tells me something awful is going to happen...."
Rin walked over to the large glass doors that could be opened and led to her balcony. She opened the doors and stepped quietly out into the frigid air. She shivered and gazed upon the white blanket of snow that covered the ground, and the small flurries that wisped around her.
"Sesshomaru-Sama! You better come back soon, and safe. And when you do, you will have a lot of explaining to do."

Sesshomaru walked silently across the ice-covered ground, glaring coldly at everyone who passed. The cold did not bother him...nor did heading to the Northern lands to fight a horde of youkai, or not bringing any reinforcements. What bothered him was that one human girl, who kept popping up in his head.
An image of a sad looking Rin looking directly at him with those innocent doe-like eyes saying "Sesshomaru-Sama..." would just not go away.
The taiyoukai growled and looked around. 'Stop feeling guilty over that woman. You are expected to be somewhere. The battle will not be very big, just some rogue youkai who can't get along and have annoyed me for to long...'
Sitting down, feeling quite agitated, Sesshomaru took a while to relax and look around him. It would not be long before he made his destination...he blinked when he saw the several inches of piled up snow. '
Snow...already there is so much of it. How I hate the winter...but spring isn't much better. At least it is warmer in spring than it is now.'
He sighed when his mind went back to Rin. 'Humph...girl you really have rubbed off on me. Now you are making me actually feel guilty for not telling you first.'
Sesshomaru chuckled and was suddenly interrupted by the sudden stench of youkai. "What? Those fools have no idea what is to become of them."
