Silver Wolf: Hey! I'm baaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccckkkkkkkkkk!!! Sorry I haven't updated like planned but I've been sick recently. Also my mother had grounded me off the computer and has been bitchy about me getting on it. She said she didn't like to hear the keyboard's keys "clacking so loud that I couldn't sleep." What a baka! What the hell is the point of getting on the computer without a keyboard?! Never mind me though.

Shiezu: It's about time too. The next chapter for Mayonaka Ryuujin will be soon, but not as soon as you may like…gomen nasai. Oh yeah, polls are closed and Sesshoumaru won!

Sesshoumaru: Naturally. What idiot would go against this Sesshoumaru?

Chapter 5: Sougo Shinboku!

Last time:

"Hey Kagome! We need to talk!" called Inuyasha.

This time:

Kagome and Inuyasha walked out of their friends hearing range. "What's up Inu?" asked Kagome as she hugged him, then let go and looked expectantly at him. "Kagome…your mating age is sixteen, right?" asked InuYasha warily.

"Hai. Why?"

"Well, isn't it your clan's tradition that you see your father the year before?" Kagome sighed. She was afraid of this and should've never taught him about her family's traditions. "Hai, it is InuYasha. We could leave after I get my brother, pup, and neko."

They nodded in agreement and walked back to camp. Kagome was secretly happy that InuYasha hadn't asked to mate with her like she first suspected; she already had her eyes on someone else.

When the got back, the group sped off to the Central Land's main castle after explaining. The castle's name was Kagemusha Kyuuden because of the high population of Shadow Warriors there and because the castle itself looked like a giant shadow of a Kagemusha; evil and mysterious.

When it was nightfall, they Inu brothers were tired, but Kagome and her wolf buds were full of energy. [That was one big difference between wolves and dogs; a dog's energy came from the sun because they were accustomed to being up at day with their human counterparts and also slept at night, being accustomed to human sleeping patterns and all.

Wolves, however, could stay up at night because they got power from the Moon; that's why wolves howl at the moon when it's full, because they're praising her, giving blessings, and renewing their alliance with her. Their alliance was that, in return for the wolves' praise at her fullest time, the wolves would be more energetic and powerful during night, which was the Moon's "time of day." This also explains why wolves are lethargic during daytime.]

The only reason why the Inu brothers hadn't fell asleep that night was because it was a full Moon filled with the wolves' continuous howls of praise of her. "Great and powerful Moon, we praise you and thank you for your power! We now ask you to keep our ties with us and renew them!" howled the chorus of wolves.

The Inu brothers were shocked when the great Moon replied! They never thought she could talk! They had never even thought it was living! They had never even believed The Moon and Wolf/Sun and Dog Tale was true either! Now they were convinced.

"My faithful ones, I thank you for keeping up your end of ties and I shall renew them! Keep your power of the night, so long as you praise me!" Moon said in a soft, tinkling, female voice.

The Inu brothers, wanting some of the power, called to Moon and asked if they could praise her for power. "Hmm…dogs asking for power when they already have my mate's power of day….Alright. But in return, you must give up my mate's power and praise me instead." Moon's melodic voice came into their minds. That was when the Inu brothers realized Moon had clairvoyance and must be very powerful to do so.

The Moon was accepting their tributes! Excited, the Inu brothers said, "We gladly give up the power of your mate, The Sun! We shall follow your rituals and praise you at your fullest!"

"I'll give you power now and you can start praising tomorrow, for it is the end of the month and I shall shine brightly for my mate!"

The dogs nodded at the Moon's declaration and made a note to praise her tomorrow. They immediately felt an increase in power and their bodies craved for night, not day. They noted that it felt much more powerful than they did when they praised the sun. Sesshoumaru asked why.

["Because my mate has many more people that praise him; he can only give them a little power to make sure everyone has gotten an equal amount. Myself, however, can give a thousand fold more power because I don't have as many who praise me, therefore, I don't have to divide my power so much to accommodate my faithful ones' needs." The Moon had also explained that, at the end of the month, she shined for several days because she was giving power to her mate so he could sustain himself to the middle or the end of the year, which was when he was allowed by Kami to complete a ritual that would rejuvenate him.]

The Moon then shined brighter and sent the group on their way while she kept watch from above. So, under the Moon's ever watchful eye, they set off once more to the castle; they had already passed the barriers of the West.

"Youbo, I'm hungry!" cried Shippou. He, Souta, Shiezu, and Kirara had appeared out of the trees a few miles from the barrier. Sesshoumaru had a rising suspicion that Kagome and her friends had already planned to come here before they had met up with InuYasha and himself.

They had finally reached the Kagemusha Kyuuden and were greeted by the "Lord and Lady of the Central Lands."

"Kagome! So you remembered to come after all! We were beginning to worry. Oh, before I forget, meet Remi; she's your new mother." `Lord' Shinto seemed to be rubbing this in Kagome's face.

"So this is the bitch you've been fucking since I was nine? She ain't much to look at…I have brought guests. Will you continue to disrespect them?" Kagome said, all the while keeping her wits and cold demeanor intact. Souta and Shippou laughed at Remi as she bristled when her brain comprehended what Kagome had just said.

Remi's face had screwed up at the comment, but was quickly replaced with a fake, sugar coated smile. She fixed her molasses colored eyes on Sesshoumaru and said, "Gomen nasai, but we don't have a room for you friends; unless they're staying in your wing Kagome-chan."

Kagome's eyes glittered dangerously when she responded, "That's Kagome-sama to you. Only certain people are allowed to call me by that title or otherwise.

"In my eyes you are just a lowly human who barely has any miko powers and will always need saving, judging by the plethora of non-existent muscles. Oh; one more thing, stop staring at Sesshou-chan or he'll show just how much he likes you."

Her voice was as smooth as glass yet as sharp as a double-edged sword.

Kagome and tachi had smirked when they saw and smelt Remi's obvious discomfort at Kagome's unveiled verbal attack. "Kagome! Treat her with respect! She is the Lady now!

Kagome merely snorted as she brushed passed her father, which was a sign of dismissal. She then stopped at his shoulder as she whispered in his ear, "You know that she isn't the true Lady. You also know that Haha-ue is still alive and that she is at my castle. It's called Mayonaka Kyuuden if you wish to know; though it can't be found unless I wish it so. But you can always look…"

Kagome and tachi then proceeded into the castle and was greeted by happy servants and guards. They were happy that Kagome was back since she hadn't been there since she was but a pup! She had normally stayed at Mayonaka Kyuuden with her mother and only came to Kagemusha Kyuuden to visit her friends that were servants, guards, or cooks. The castle seemed to breathe easier knowing Kagome was home.

"Kagome-chan!" Everyone wheeled around to see a wolf hanyou standing there. {A/N: Don't tell me you didn't see this coming!} She had brown her to her waist, azure eyes that held a sheen of intelligence and knowing, and was wearing a plain white kimono and slippers.

"Shiro-chan!" Kagome ran and hugged her friend. "Guys, this is my friend, Shirokaro. Shiro for short. Before I met you guys, she was the only one who did everything with me. She was like my older sister. I haven't seen her since I was six! It's good to see you!" Kagome squealed as she got another hug.

"That's Sango-chan, Miroku-kun, Inu-chan, Miroku-kun, InuYasha, Sesshou-chan, Shiezu, Kirara, and my little pup Shippou! Don't you remember Aunt Shiro?" Shippou nodded vigorously.

This would be a day indeed…
