Six months later…

Kagome grunted as she leapt back from Jin's attack. Sweat covered her brow and her breath was uneven and coming in pants. Jin was in a similar state as he stood with his katana raised. The sun had just begun to set, revealing that they had been sparring for the entire day. Jin straightened his stance and then sheathed his sword.

For months now, Jin had been training Kagome in the art of swordsmanship, and Kagome was a quick learner. Yumi had been teaching her to train her miko powers and had begun to teach her of the youkai world. Kagome loved living here, although she would love to have the now pregnant Suriko leave her alone. Kagome felt at home with Jin and Yumi and hoped that she could always stay, but something in the back of her mind was troubling her.

"We are finished for this night," Jin said as he took a towel from the side of the room and wiped at his brow.

Kagome let her head fall back in exhaustion as she too sheathed her sword. "Oh, I hurt!" she moaned.

"You've been at it for hours, I'm not surprised," a voice said from the doorway.

Kagome shot a glare at Yumi, whom was casually leaning against the doorway. She was dressed in a pale blue kimono decorated with embroidered crane feathers, her hair was up in a loose bun, decorated with feathers and pale blue crystals. Kagome gasped at her friend's beauty.

Jin sighed. "I see you are prepared for tonight's banquet," he said nonchalantly.

Yumi nodded. "As you should be, Eastern Lord. Suriko has been looking for you, whining about how her pregnancy is so unflattering to her figure."

Jin rolled his eyes. "Well what did you expect?"

"I expect that you and Kagome-chan here would've remembered that the other Lords were coming tonight. Along with the minor lords and their mates. I'd expect you to be ready by now, brother," Yumi huffed.

Jin groaned. "I know, I know. That's why I didn't work her too hard today. Go! Take her away! Get her all cleaned up to you can stop complaining and I'll deal with Suriko," he said, exasperated.

Yumi smirked and then grabbed Kagome's hand and dragged her towards her room. Once inside, Kagome was assaulted by a throng of servants that peeled her training clothes off of her and placed a light yukata on her body and dragged her to her bathing chamber. After being thoroughly scrubbed and cleansed, Kagome was rushed back inside where the servants then began to dress her and do her hair. Yumi stood and watched as they took the kimono that she had picked out and dressed her. Yumi also watched as they brushed and styled Kagome's hair into an intricate style upon her hair and weaved pearls into her ebony locks. After they had finished with her, Yumi dismissed the servants and placed the finishing touches on the younger girl's ensemble.

Kagome's kimono was an ocean blue, decorated with small gems that were made to look like sea foam upon her sleeves. Her obi was a deeper blue, as were her slippers. Small gems and pearls had been weaved into her hair, making her look like a sea nymph. Yumi had made sure her makeup had remained simple, her eyes were rimmed with a sea green that contrasted her gray-blue eyes, and her lips were a striking red. Yumi took a step back and nodded in approval. "Perfect," she said with pride.

Kagome gasped when she saw her reflection in her mirror. "Yumi… this is too much!"

"Nonsense!" Yumi exclaimed. "I think it looks perfect on you! But it is missing something… ah yes," she mumbled as she then pulled out a string of small white pearls and placed them upon Kagome's neck. "Now, it's complete. Sesshomaru won't know what hit him."

Kagome's cheeks blushed slightly. "H-he's going to be there?"

Yumi smiled. "Of course, Kagome-chan, he is the Lord of the Western Lands."

Kagome let out a sigh. "Right…"

"Oh, fret not, my dear, Jin and I have devised a plan to make you youkai so the two of you can truly be together," Yumi informed.

Kagome blinked in surprise. "Really?"

"Yes, we both want you to become our true little sister. You will become an elf, like us, and become a Princess of the Eastern Lands."

"How?" she asked.

"Come with me to Jin's study and I will explain and then we can perform the ritual."

Kagome nodded and followed Yumi to Jin's study. The room was huge and lined with shelves upon shelves of books and scrolls. Jin stood at his desk reading over a scroll and looked up when the girls entered. Jin smiled to Kagome. "You look absolutely beautiful, Kagome," he said, his pale blue eyes glittering.

Yumi rolled her eyes and then turned to Kagome. "Now, Kagome, you don't have to do this if you don't want to," she warned.

Kagome shook her head. "No, I would be honored to become your true sister. I want this."

Yumi smiled and the turned to Jin. Jin and Yumi now stood before Kagome. Yumi then took out a knife and cut her right palm and Kagome's left. "Blood becomes blood, and power becomes power, let this human miko become one with our blood this night," she said as she laced her fingers with Kagome's and fused their wounds together.

Jin then took the same knife and did the same to his left hand and Kagome's right he then fused his wound to hers. "May our ancestors bestow us with the power to make you of our blood and our power." Suddenly there was a flash of blue light that engulfed the three of them. Kagome's mouth hung open in silent scream as her head fell back and the light filled her being, changing it.

When the light faded, Yumi and Jin gasped. Before them was Kagome in her new form. She had become only slightly taller and her body had filled out. Her skin was now their porcelain shade and her hair now shone brighter than before. Her ears were now pointed as theirs and her body now looked more delicate than it had before, almost fragile. As Kagome's, now pale blue, eyes opened, she felt a flood to her now more acute senses. She then saw the huge smiles on Yumi's and Jin's faces.

"Did it work?" she asked.

Yumi leapt forward and pulled the girl into an embrace. "Hai, little sister, it worked!"

Kagome's face brightened as she hugged Yumi back. The girls then turned when a voice cleared. Jin was now at the door with an eyebrow raised. "Are you two coming? We have a party to get to, you know?"

Yumi rolled her eyes. "Hai, hai, Jin, we know. We're coming," she said in exasperation as the three of them started down the hall towards the ballroom.

InuYasha grumbled as he entered the room with his brother. The cane youkai female at the door glanced to them and then straightened her shoulders. "Lord Sesshomaru of the Western Lands and Lord InuYasha, Prince of the Western Lands!" she bellowed.

InuYasha shifted uncomfortably under the eyes of the other youkai that were present. "I hate these things," he growled.

Sesshomaru rolled his eyes at his brother's antics. "Calm down, InuYasha. Lord Jin is a friend of mine and I don't want you embarrassing me."

"Yeah, yeah… hey, do you think Kagome will be here?" he asked suddenly.

Sesshomaru froze. "Why would she?"

"Yumi took her to train her about six moons ago, for all we know she could be here," he said.

Sesshomaru's mind began to race. `Kagome? Here!? What is Yumi up to now?' "Is that so?" he asked.

InuYasha was about to respond when another crane youkai stood in the center of the hall and cleared its throat. "Lords and Ladies of Japan, I announce his Lordship, Jin, of the Eastern lands and his mate, Lady Suriko of the Northern Lands. Her Ladyship, Yumi, Princess of the Eastern Lands, and Lady Kagome, Pincess of the Eastern Lands, miko of InuYasha's forest, and Guardian of the Shikon no Tama!"

InuYasha shook his head. `Did I hear that right? Kagome? A princess?'

His thoughts were soon turned towards the group entering the room. Lord Jin was dressed in a light blue hakama and haori decorated with darker blue flames. The pregnant Lady Suriko stood beside him, her brown hair pulled up and dressed in a kimono of a russet color, covered with embroidered leaves. He then gasped when he saw Yumi and Kagome enter, both looked beyond beautiful. Yumi looked like a goddess of the wind, with her feathers, and Kagome a goddess of the water, covered with the pearls and crystals that looked like droplets of water upon her kimono. Sesshomaru was just as taken aback. Yumi then noticed them both and nudged Kagome. Kagome then glanced in their direction and blushed and giggled with Yumi as they spoke to each other in whispers.

Lord Jin walked over to Sesshomaru after finally convincing Suriko to get some rest. He noticed how his old friend would gaze at Kagome when she wasn't looking and her to him when he wasn't. Jin smiled, they were acting like a pair of love sick children. He placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, causing him to turn.

"I see that you have noticed my sister, Sesshomaru," he joked.

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow. "I have no interest in Yumi in that sense."

"Who said anything about Yumi? I was talking about my sister Kagome."

Sesshomaru blanched. "So, the crane was not mistaken when he announced her as Princess?"

Jin chuckled. "No, Yumi and I made her into one of our blood this evening."

"I thought she looked different," he commented.

Meanwhile Kagome and Yumi were talking with Prince Aoshi of the central lands. Kagome noticed how he flirted with Yumi and she totally ignored it. She then heard a familiar voice from behind her.

"So here I am, thinking that you were training with Yumi and here you are, partying away," InuYasha teased.

Kagome spun around and smiled. "Well, actually, I was training with Jin until sunset. What are you doing here anyways? I thought you and the others would be out hunting the jewel shards right now?"

"Sesshomaru demanded that I start acting like a Prince of the Western Lands and join him in this slow death he calls a gathering."

Kagome giggled. "It is rather boring, isn't it?"

"Well, well, if it ain't the muttface, what are you doing here? Get lost while searching for your tail?" a familiarly gruff voice asked.

InuYasha turned and growled. "Kouga! I thought I smelt a coward!"

"That was your own stench, dog boy!"

"Pathetic wolf!"

"Dog snot!"

"Coward!"

"Tail sniffer!"

"Ass hole!"

"Mutt!"

Kagome rolled her eyes. "Oh please! Cut it out already!"

Kouga looked up from his stare down with InuYasha and then noticed Kagome. "Kagome? What are you doing here? Come looking for me?"

"Hardly, she was invited! Unlike some unimportant wolf prince I know," InuYasha huffed.

"I was too! What are you doing here anyways, mutt?"

"InuYasha is my brother, but knows not how to act like the prince he is," a smooth, cool voice said from behind Kouga.

Kouga stiffened and then slowly turned to see Sesshomaru. He laughed nervously and excused himself from his company and vanished into the crowd.

InuYasha glared a t Sesshomaru, but then noticed that his attention was solely on the slightly flushed Kagome. InuYasha then smirked. "Oh, just get mated and stop making each other uncomfortable!" he said in mock annoyance.

Kagome's eyes went wide and she blushed deeper as she broke from Sesshomaru's intense stare. Sesshomaru then smacked InuYasha upside the head. "Baka!" he grumbled.

InuYasha only smiled wider. "I'll leave you two alone… good luck, Kagome," he teased as he vanished into the crowd.

Sesshomaru bowed to Kagome. "Lady Kagome, it has been a long time since last I saw you."

Kagome bowed in response. "You look well, Sesshomaru-sama, I hope InuYasha hasn't been bothering you too much?"

Sesshomaru smirked. "No, just the usual amount. I must say, you look breathtaking, Kagome."

"Likewise… I mean, arigato," she stumbled over her words and blushed.

"Sesshomaru! Are you bothering my sister?" Yumi called.

Sesshomaru glared at Yumi. "I don't believe so."

Yumi smiled. "You are looking well, I see your arm has regenerated nicely," she commented.

Kagome glanced at his new arm. `Why didn't I notice?'

Sesshomaru merely ignored the comment. "Have the traitors shown their faces yet?" he asked suddenly.

Yumi shook her head. "No, the Southern Lord and Lady have not and will not grace us with their slimy presence this evening."

Kagome listened intently. Yumi had told her of what had happened to her parents and how the Southern Lord had orchestrated it all with the help of Naraku. She was about to comment on it when there was an explosion from the front door. Kagome found herself in the arms of Sesshomaru, whom had shielded her from the debris. She blushed deeply as he kept his arms around her while he turned to see what had happened. Standing in the remains of the doorway was none other than Naraku and Kikyo.

"I see I was not invited, how rude of you, Lord Jin," Naraku said with fake hurt.

Jin glared daggers at the baboon pelt covered hanyou. "Naraku! Leave this place!"

Naraku chuckled. "But I was sent by my lord and lady of the Southern Lands in their stead."

Kagome wriggled from Sesshomaru's grasp and joined Yumi as she went to her brother's side.

Yumi had her katana in hand. "You dare enter our home! And with that corpse!" she shouted as she pointed to Kikyo.

Kikyo narrowed her eyes at Yumi and then noticed Kagome. "I see you are here as well, my incarnation," Kikyo said venomously.

"Lady Kagome is of our blood and is princess here! You, Kikyo, have no right to be here, nor you Narkau!" Jin said.

Naraku laughed again. "Is that so? Well then, I'll just take what I wanted and leave then," he stated with an evil grin.

InuYasha scowled. "What the fuck do you want! You ain't taking a damn thing!"

Naraku smiled to Kagome. Suddenly, a tentacle shot out of his body and headed at a breakneck speed towards her. Kagome was frozen in shock as she watched the razor sharp tip flew towards her.

InuYasha's eyes widened. "Kagome!"

Kagome watched in horror as Sesshomaru leapt in front of her and the sharp tentacle slammed through his chest. She watched as his eyes widened slightly and then narrowed as the spike was pulled out of him sharply and he slumped over onto Kagome. As his vision blacked out he heard his brother and Kagome screaming his name and the hideous voice of Naraku. "Not exactly my plan, but either way, she will feel pain."

Sess: WOMAN! WHY THE HELL AM I UNCONCIOUS!

Levii: Calm down, Sessho-chan. You'll wake up… eventually.

Inu: Are you ever going to tell me who my love interest is?

Levii: Stop whining, all of you! and that better not be what I think it is, Miroku!

Miroku: (leaps away from her backside) What? What'd I do?

Levii: As much as I love being groped by you, Miroku, I would prefer it if you didn't do that right now.

Inu: Lecher.

Levii: I said you will awaken, but not if you don't shut it!
