Dancing In the Moonlight
Chapter three
The Fortunately unfortunate.
When Inuyasha arrived at the campground with Sango, he was pleased to find out that both Miroku and Kagome were asleep. He didn't want them to make a fuss about Sango's wounds, which were cleaned and bandaged up nicely. The hanyou sat down at the campfire, holding Sango close.
“You feeling any better?” He asked, not letting go. Sango moved a little, just so she could face him and nodded. She then tried to pick herself up and move away from Inuyasha, who just pulled her back.
“Where do you think you're going?”
“You didn't need to help me, I've dealt with worse things,” She whispered, picking herself up once more. She did feel much better, her wounds stopped bleeding and her headache was gone, so why did Inuyasha insist on bickering on her to stay in his lap? She looked back at the hanyou, who once again gave her a once over; concern was etched on his face. Inuyasha stood up and began to follow her.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Back to the lake” Sango responded, not looking back at him “I left my armor, I have to get it.”
“Heh…”
She led the way back to the lake, which was a lot harder considering the moonlight was covered by clouds, But Sango figured that if she got lost, she can rely on Inuyasha to guide her. She didn't say one word until she was back at the water's edge.
“Thanks for coming with me…” She began.
“Keh”
Sango gave a nervous, girlish giggle. She now faced the hanyou, who was looking right at her. She couldn't hold it in any longer; she just had to tell him how she truly felt. She picked up her armor and cleared her throat.
“I-Inuyasha?”
“Sango?”
“I-I…. um…. why did you help me?” She fumbled with her armor the way a teenager would with her purse before her first kiss.
Inuyasha shuffled his bare feet in the grass “You were in trouble….I had to help you…” He walked to Sango and put his clawed hands on her shoulders “I couldn't forgive myself if something were to happen to you.”
“Sango felt her face go into a deep blush “B-but what about Ka-ka-Kagome?” She stammered. Inuyasha gave a smirk.
“I've given a lot of thought to that…Kagome…she's just like a sister to me….” He paused slightly, looking as if in deep thought “Besides” he said finally “She reminds my too much of Kikyo”
“Oh!”
Rain began to pour from the clouds, softly landing on the couple. Sango's blush deepened. “I g-guess we should get b-back” she whispered. She wasn't about to tell the hanyou that she always wanted her first kiss to be in the rain. She started to walk away, but Inuyasha pulled her back.
“Inuyasha!”
He pulled her close to him, she dropped her armor. He lowered until they were face to face, holding her at the waist. He lowered himself down and kissed her softly. At first it took her by surprise, but slowly she returned the kiss, pulling him closer.
Never in her life had she felt like this. This was it! Her first kiss! And with a hanyou. Something stirred inside of her, but deep down she knew she had to stop. It felt so wrong but at the same time so right, she tried to pull away.
“No!” growled Inuyasha, he proceeded to lay Sango on the ground. Passion swelled inside of her as Inuyasha tugged on the robe, trying to get it undone. But a voice cut through the night air.
“INUYAHSA? SANGO? WHERE ARE YOU” Kagome called out. Sango let out an aggravated sigh as Inuyasha pulled away from her. Kagome, along with the rest of the gang, emerged from the forest.
